Giovanni Reuel on the Move Again: Resume
Italian winger Giovanni Reuel had a successful season with the Cologne Express registering his first fifty point season and second consecutive twenty goal season. Reuel also had the best plus minus of anyone who played the entire season with the Cologne Express. In the post season Reuel continued to play an important role on the Express, finishing second in scoring with three assists in four games. Despite these successes Reuel woke up on Monday to a message from the General Manager of the New York Americans expressing interest in signing Giovanni. Confused Reuel reached out to General Manager of the Express GregGreg and asked if he was being resigned and was met with a cold “you were not”. This response made it clear that Giovanni was not going to be a part of the team next season. While disappointed that he would not continue his career with the Cologne Express, an organization Reuel was excited to be a part of, it is also an exciting time for Reuel to explore his options. On that note here is Reuel’s resume.
Giovanni Reuel
Game: Reuel is a responsible winger who has shown he has what it takes to win at every level of competition. The strongest aspect of Reuel’s game is his skating and puck control. This skill set means he works well in possession based systems. While he does have a tendency to move the puck himself he is not a selfish player and prefers to set up teammates rather than score himself, he did take on more of a scoring role in Cologne but is looking to develop himself into a setup man. While Reuel is generally under developed he has shown respectable two way play and has indicated this is an aspect of his game he intends to improve. Finally despite spending most of his time this season in the gym attempting to bulk up Reuel brings zero physicality to the table.
Accomplishments: Two Time Twenty Goal Scorer, Coming of a Fifty Point Season, S46 Continental Champion (Helsinki Titans) and S44 VHLM Champion (Oslo Storm)
Expectations: Giovanni Reuel understands that he is a at best a complimentary piece. All he wants is the opportunity to continue playing the game he loves. The more minutes the better but Reuel will not complain about his role in whatever organization will accept him. In terms of location Reuel does prefer to play in Europe instead of North America, with the exception of Quebec as the city truly has a European feel. That being said beggars cannot be choosers and Reuel will take whatever he can get.
Looking forward to seeing if there is any interest around the league.
