  5. Earlier today, Augustus Gloop was traded to the Seattle bears for a 3rd round pick in the S57 VHL entry draft. It's safe to say that before today, Augustus was on the road to being one of the biggest upsets in the entire S56 draft. Despite his activity struggling, due to his agents reputation, people thought Gloop was a player who would be taken low and turned into a semi-decent steal in the draft who would be a strong role player. They were wrong. Gloop currently sits at 91 TPE and hasn't moved anywhere in terms of skill progression for quite sometime. Being far behind in the prospects rankings, he's using this deal to push himself forward and take control of his own career. Gloop was overheard talking to Bears GM Blake Campbell about coming to the team. Seen with the pair was Gloops player agent, @evrydayimbyfuglien who Campbell has prior history with. We're not sure what's going to happen in the situation or if it'll pay off for Seattle, but it has so far seemed to light a fire under Gloop's ass as he just knocked out his Rookie Report and Biography.
  6. Augustus Gloop - Rookie Report Position: DAge: 17Handedness: R Jersey Number: 71Height (inches): 71"Weight (lbs.): 199 lbsBirthplace: Düsselheim, Germany It seems like just yesterday this young defensive prospect was picked up by the Cologne Express, 12th overall in the second round of the Victory Hockey League entry draft. For Gloop and at the time, it was a large moment in his career that would later define him as a player that should have been but likely won't become. Over the last little while, it was brought to league attention that his training was starting to decline and that very minimal amounts of effort to improve were being shown. However, with a recent transaction between Cologne and Seattle, Augustus Gloop now is Bears property (a place where his agent has decent ties with the team). Due to the Augustus Gloop files being burned and thrown away by previous Express management, we are following up that one with a new rookie report. The Early Years Augustus Gloop has never been a glorified prospect who everyone thought he was going to become a huge star. In fact, very little had him pegged as that. Of the 24 scouts throughout the league, only 1 had him becoming a huge star. The following 23 scouts had him turning out as a mid levelled defender who will still play a big, important game. Looks like both may have been wrong. Growing up, Augustus always seemed like there was something special enough inside of his character that he'd become a decent player. He tried hard as a kid and it showed at the time. From the ages of 6-12, he played in the minor systems in Dusselheim, generally being better than a majority of the children. Once he turned 15, he was scouted by the higher prospect league where he played for the Dussheim Fudge Attack. It was at these moments he took huge strides and started to get noticed. Gloop Statistics with the Fudge Attack (32 game seasons) 64 GP - 16G - 24 A - 40 PTS - +15 - 37 HITS The Draft. Then, the trade. The moment he turned 17, he was pushed into the VHLM system. We wouldn't say pushed, but his name was a fair one heading into the draft. Scouts knew what to expect, or at least they though so. 12 overall to the Cologne Express, Gloop would spend the up coming season in the minors. Over the course of the season, Gloop showed no signs of promise and declined largely as a prospect. Gloop has 14 goals, 32 assist for 46 points through the 45 games played. Following the 45th game, he got a text from his agent saying "You're on to bigger and better.. don't blow it". The next morning, he was on a flight out to Seattle to meet his new managemen and teammates. A huge change in the young players career and a bigger gamble by Seattle to see if they can revive this prospects career. Player Evaluation Strengths AGE Augustus Gloop has a coupe strong things going from him that make him a fairly decent prospect - even to this day. The first being is that his age determines that he has a long career in front of him is he chooses to push forward and make it through the grind. He's a S56 VHL prospect and the season currently being played out right now is S56. Yes, he's had a slow start compared to lots in his class and yes, he's heavily behind to even become an average player. Yet, age is on his side and if he puts in the work, the potential for him rises with each update. HIS AGENT This one is a big one. Gloop's agent, while having a tendency to dip away from the scene for awhile, has the reputation of making fairly good and loyal players. Seattle is really playing off that fact that Rodriguez became something, so Gloop can too. Differences is that his agent was more consistent back then and Rodriguez' work ethic is a crazy amount of times higher than Gloop's. That does not mean that Augustus can look the bull in the eyes and grow as a prospect. In fact, after a recent talk with Bears GM Blake Campbell, it seems Gloop may push himself this go around with the Bears. DEFENSIVE ABILITY For a young player, 77 overall for the defensive rating from scouts isn't really a bad thing. A lot of young guys like to score, so you'll generally notice that the defensive abilities of a VHLM and VHL defensemen are totally different and noticeable when compared. For Gloop, it is noticeable, but not as greatly. Gloop plays a strong defensive game in the VHLM, so it will be interesting to see how he and Seattle morph him. Player Evaluation Negatives /Weaknesses ACTIVITY Sometimes a good question to ask Gloop is, "Will you be around tomorrow", to which his likely response could be nothing because he's already gone. This is something he is going to need to work on if he is going to become better. Without activity in the league, you will go nowhere. If Gloop keeps up his usual presence, expect him to be out of the league in a season or two. OFFENSIVE GAME Both scouting statistics average out to be at 40 for passing and scoring. Adding onto those stats, two others that largely help the offensive game also sit at 40. Those stats are Puck Handling and Skating. Now, Gloop was never known as an amazing skater, however, eh wasn't horrible either. Guess that's what happens when you come from mythical place made out of chocolate and gum drops. Yet, he finds himself as one of the worse skaters of the S56 prospects. Determination We're not saying he's not going to become anything, but with the slow start and poor work ethic so far, it's hard to say what he can now become. The mountain has gotten taller and taller from him to climb and the bigger than mountains gets, the smaller he becomes. It will be interesting to see how both parties of Seattle and Gloop handle this and what exactly they plan to do with the young prospect. If he can improve his determination and work ethic, expect him to become a solid pick up for a cheap price for Seattle.
  7. Augustus Gloop: Biography Augustus was brought into this world weighing in at an incredible 13 pounds. The doctor told his parents, Olga and Harry, that they were in for a big baby but the moment it came out, they knew exactly what they were in for. Aside from the large size of the child, he had orange hair that would put the old, red fox to shame. His face was pudgy, round and full of freckles and his body followed similar suit. If we had to be honest, Augustus wasn't that attractive of a baby (and that's being nice). Along with his unattractiveness, was his evil, smug and spoiled personality. Even as a baby growing into a young tot, he seemed to think the world revolved around him. He was only fed the bad food - the high in sugar, low in anything good at all, kind of food. If you tried putting anything at the end of his high chair table, he scowled, cried and made a fuss. Due to this, his continued to grow in size. It seemed as though he was putting on more weight than he was days to his age. He grew and grew, busting out of pants, looking like a gap model in shirts and having feet 2 sizes too big for his little, tiny shoes. This was a problem for his parents, sure, but they would do anything for the son they loved. You see, one parents (Harry) worked as a noble, respected lawyer down at the courthouse and his mother was head of the nursing department at the local hospital. While they were';t filthy rich like one person in town, they surely had enough money in their pockets. As Augustus grew up, so did his personalities. Rather though, they did not grow up but instead intensified. The thought and idea that he was privileged only continued to grow. His desire and need to get whatever he wanted only got worse as his parents gave into every cry, command or want. Whatever he wants, young Augustus got. His parents were creating a little monster and they didn't even know about it. He would kick and scream, yell and shout - he was the worst of the little monsters. One Christmas morning, he woke up to only find 5 things in his stocking and 11 presents wrapped organized under neath their 12 foot ceiling tree. Not even there crack of dawn yet and he's in his parents bedrooms putting a piss on. He's throwing pillows, shouting naughty words and giving his parents his worst. They gave into him and later in the day he was opening another 3 gifts that they had to go out and buy. Now, it wasn't until the age of 11 that things started to get real serious for the Gloop family. Along with his spoiled traits and poor allowances, he also had some bad habits. One of those were eating. Eating chocolate to be specific. Everyday his father would give him $3 in the morning time to walk to the store to buy a "Wonka" chocolate bar. Every evening when his mom returned home from work, should would do the same - not knowing her husband had given him some earlier. One day, little Augustus came running home from the store, shouting to his father that he needed to get the golden ticket in one of the winning Wonka bars. If you hadn't forgotten, he gets everything. Both parents gave him $50 and said "Go down to the local store and buy all that they have". 36 chocolate bars later, he made his way home and upstairs to his room. He made the superstition that if he didn't eat every bar, he would jinx his chances at finding the winning ticket. So he ate one, then two, three, four and so on. Finally, 15 chocolate bars and a stomach ache later, he bit into something rather unusual and hard. It was the ticket. "You have won!" the tikcet read with other information on it. Skip forward 2 months, 16 days and 11 hours and Augustus was finally walking up to the tall, purple gates of the Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. With every step he took, his heart raced quicker and quicker. The closer he got, the stronger his senses could pick up the smell of sweet, sugary chocolate. They knock on the doors and they went in. It was like nothing else in the entire world. Chocolate rivers, flowers, animals and waterfalls. There was candy this, soda that and chocolate everywhere. It was a candy/chocolate Utopia. He quickly fell in love, which led to anger and jealousy. He started hiding all the chocolate in his pockets, or in his mothers bag. She, of course, said nothing. He made a fuss, started eating everything in site. He tasted rainbow gum drops, sour swizzlers and taste chocolate oranges. He ate and ate, sweating incredibly for a little boy. Then, he passed out. 3 hours later he woke up in a hospital with a doctor, 2 nurses and his parents by the bad. The doctor told Augustus about poor life choices and one of them was eating bad. How eating these things could make them side or have him lead a short or difficult life. chocolate was a good thing, but only in moderation. The doctor told him to become more healthy and make changes. So he did. He joined the local hockey team in town and made it passed try outs. Dusselheim Wonka Attack is what they called the team and Augustus played on the 2nd line with Charlie (the poor kid) and one of Wonka's nephews. While following the doctors advise of trying to live a healthier lifestyle, he only did so in the form that he did more. He worked out, started playing hockey and actually became good at it. This could be credited due to the fact he never once slowed down on eating chocolate and ever since has been fine. His larger frame allows him to move through his opponents easier and doesn't let them strip him of the puck. He's still a spoiled ass and you can see it on the ice too. At the end of every game, he has a personal butler come into the locker room and feed him sweets, chocolates and red bulls. Somethings change, somethings don't. Let's just say it would be a surprise if his new team in the SHL had to switch their sponsors from RBK and Nike to Hershey's and M&M's.
  8. And a semi-active me is still better than a fully active @Kendrick.
  9. Defensemen Achievements (Choose 2): Points/7Hits/30 Points: 61/7 = 8.71 Hits: 287/30 = 9.56 Total: 18.27 = 18 TPE
  10. Solid game for Gloop, aside from that -1 in the +/-
  11. Got an assist with 40s across the board in any offensive categories.
  12. Woo! 4 hits, 3 blocked shots! When your team is this bad, you have to get excited about the little things.
  13. Augustus Gloop Update Augustus Gloop, the rookie defenseman from the Yukon Rush has been a solid defensive defenseman for the squad all season long despite his limited training throughout the year. The 5’11” 199lb defenseman from Düsselheim, Germany has been putting on a hitting and shot blocking clinic in his first 52 career games for the Rush. His progression has been slow, stagnant even, but if the Rush can convince him to stay active and continue practicing, he’s already got the defense to hang and the rest of his game can come around. Coming in as a 5th round draft pick, the Rush couldn’t have been expecting much out of him, especially his rookie season but it’s safe to say he’s exceeded their expectations. Gloop has blocked 107 shots for the Rush who have already allowed 181 goals while only scoring 84. That means they’re allowing over 3 goals against per game. Imagine how many goals they’d be letting in if Gloob weren’t out there blocking shots. You’d have to assume they would have won fewer than the eight games they’re at right now. Second in the league in blocked shots is Bastian Stolzschweiger, also of the Yukon Rush, with 91 blocked shots. Bastian was taken in the fourth round of the draft making Gloop arguably a better pick in the draft. As we said, Augustus is putting on a hitting clinic as well leading the league with 204 hits, almost four hits per game for the Rush. Second in hits is Rask Rowe of the Las Vegas Aces, a team that has really fallen from grace and find themselves in fourth place with a record of 15-32, just 15 points ahead of the 8-42 Rush. I was unable to find how Rask Rowe entered the league so I can’t comment on whether or not Gloop has been a more valuable pick or not but I will say that the fact that Gloop is leading over a number of players assumingly picked in rounds one through four means that he’s been a steal thus far. If Gloop can keep up with the pace he’s on now, we should see him approach 150 blocked shots and 282 hits. I couldn’t tell you what the VHLM records are for hits and blocked shots, I would assume we’d be looking at 200+ blocked shots and 300+ hits but Gloop appears destined to be a VHLM lifer so those numbers might be possible in future years. The combination of Stolzschweiger and Gloop should be a good combination until Bastian takes his game to the next level and joins his VHL squad the Cologne Express. The German duo has combined for 68 points (34 apiece) as well as 313 hits and 198 blocked shots. They’re not going to blow anyone away with their scoring prowess but they’re definitely serviceable defensemen for the Rush and should stick together for at least another season. “I like to hit. I like to hit almost as much as I like to eat. I eat anything and everything I can get my hands on.”
