  1. Not much was expected of the Americans this year but here they are at 17-31-6 for 40 points which is 2nd last in the VHL but their -46 goal differential is actually not too bad considering. The Americans are a very young team and that shows great signs for the team moving forward. Rookie Shawn Andrei Zyuzin has been pretty good coming in as a under developed rookie, scoring 4 goals and assisting on 12 goals for 16 points. He is -11 with 223 hits and 111 shots blocked showing some great signs as a young defenseman. Now sitting at 265 TPE, SAZ has reached the VHL at a level where most rookies tend to have a good floor to be a VHLer, however now in the coming seasons, SAZ should blow past that number and continue to become a cornerstone on the Americans blueline and establish himself as a solid defenseman going forward. His numbers back that up so far on the defensive side, it remains to be seen if the offensive side will pick up or if he will be a 20 point to 30 point defenseman at the VHL level. His 42 point output in his lone VHLM season could be a career high at any level of hockey for SAZ.
  2. thats more like it a couple of 1 goal losses, 1 in OT and i scored a goal!
  3. 2 blow out losses is no bueno
  4. couple of close losses. oh well
  5. the New York Americans sit at 9-17-4 for 22 points through 30 games which is right where you expect this young team to be. They are fighting Los Angeles for the last spot in the North American conference and last overall in the VHL for that matter. It must not be good for the two biggest markets in the VHL to be battling it out for the last spot in the league. Since New York Rangers and New York Islanders are good, the hockey fans may not look this way by the time the NHL starts back up again. Oh well, like the Rangers, the Americans are in the midst of a rebuild or retool? We don't know what Birdman is thinking of but I think he might like what he sees from the current rookie group. Shawn Andrei Zyuzin so far has 2 goals and 7 assists for 9 points in 30 games which is ok considering he is more defensive minded than most. His -4 on a team that has a goal differential of -28 isn't that bad if you think about it. SAZ also has 120 hits, 62 PIM and 66 shots blocked which are solid for a rookie in my opinion. SAZ should continue to grow as the season and the years goes on.
  6. i dont understand why you just want to only play for davos
  7. 1. It's December! What is your favourite part of the holidays? I like spending time with my family, nothing like being with the people you love. 2. The GM Player claim has been abolished. How do you feel about it? I think it is the best move they could have done. Either have them be drafted where they end up or just put them on the teams without draft, there is no inbetween. 3. We currently have 92 Goals for, which is better than 4 other teams, and only 1 behind the NA conference leading Calgary Wranglers. Why have we struggled to keep the puck out of our own net? Young defense, I think we are more offensive minded with only SAZ who is more defenseive minded. 4. If I'm not mistaken, next week is VHL Theme Week. What theme would you choose? I love historical themes. 5. Rhynex Entertainment, Gary Rush, and Brian Strong Jr are all top 8 in rookie scoring. Who takes the ROTY crown at seasons end? Rhynex 6. My favourite show to watch, The Office, is being removed from Netflix in January. What is your go-to show/movie on Netflix? I haven't been watching much netflix, but if I had to choose it would be the haunting series or Sons of Anarchy
  8. The third installment tracks the teams throughout 30 seasons now. We get a look at who has the best win percentage throughout 30 seasons of VHL action spanning from Season 20 to Season 49. 1 - New York Americans - Previously 3rd 2,160 GP - 1,264 W - 764 L - 132 OTL - 2,677 P - 6,690 GF - 5,722 GA - 3.10 GFA - 2.65 GAA - 21 Playoffs - 9 Playoff Misses - 5 Victory Cup Wins - 0.585 Win % New York has seen quite the rise from 5th to 3rd and now the 1st spot following 30 seasons. The Americans have won 490 games in the 10 seasons since the start of the 40's. That is an average of 49 wins per season and they made the playoffs 9 times in this Season 40's span missing just once. New York was also able to add 3 Victory Cup's to it's total which is tied for 2nd so far in data collected. New York has made the playoffs 21 times missing just 9 times which is also tied for most and least in the VHL during this time span. Winning the Victory Cup 3 times in 10 seasons is a great accomplishment and they would have had 1 more if they had 2 more points in one season as well. New York is the only team to break 1200 wins with 1,264 and have more than 6,600 goals scored with with 6,690. Suffice to say, the Americans owned the 40's. 2 - HC Davos Dynamo - Previously 1st 2,160 GP - 1,174 W - 841 L - 145 OTL - 2,510 P - 6,307 GF - 5,775 GA - 2.92 GFA - 2.67 GAA - 21 Playoffs - 9 Playoffs Misses - 5 Victory Cup Wins - 0.544 Win % Davos fall from 1st to 2nd after a meh 40's run that saw them win 317 games for an average of 31.7 wins per season. The Dynamo also went .500 with playoff appearances going 5-5 with makes and misses and did not add to their Victory Cup total. However, they were very good during the 30's so their meh run still saves them from a further fall. They are one of 2 teams to have more than 1,100 wins through 30 seasons. 3 - Helsinki Titans - Previously 2nd 2,160 GP - 1,160 W - 840 L - 160 OTL - 2,490 P - 6,198 GF - 5,699 GA - 2.87 GFA - 2.64 GAA - 18 Playoffs - 12 Playoff Misses - 4 Victory Cup Wins - 0.537 Win % Helsinki also falls one spot to 3rd finishing just 0.07% behind the Dynamo for 2nd. Helsinki had a good 40's run with 386 wins for an average of 38.6 wins per season which is just 0.04 behind the Americans for best in the decade. The Titans were also able to make the playoffs 7 times missing just 3 times in the 10 season span to being their total up to 18 makes and 12 misses which is 2nd most in the league behind Davos and New York. Helsinki was also able to win 2 Victory Cups bringing that total to 4 which is 3rd most in the VHL. Helsinki is one of 3 teams to win over 1,100 games with a total of 1,160. 4 - Quebec City Meute - Previously 7th 1,368 GP - 706 W - 556 L - 106 OTL - 1,527 P - 3,935 GF - 3,668 GA - 2.88 GFA - 2.68 GAA - 12 Playoffs - 7 Playoff Misses - 4 Victory Cup Wins - 0.516 Win % Quebec is another high riser going from 7th to 4th with 410 wins during the 40s for an average of 41 wins per season. The Meute were also able to add 3 Victory Cups to their young resume to being that total to 4 which is tied for 3rd in the VHL. Quebec made the playoffs 7 times missing just 3 times to bring their record to 12 makes and 7 misses. The Young franchise has done good for themselves over their 19 season existence. 5 - Cologne Express - Previously 9th 1,368 GP - 705 W - 559 L - 104 OTL - 1,515 P - 3,823 GF - 3,551 GA - 2.79 GFA - 2.60 GAA - 10 Playoffs - 9 Playoff Misses - 0 Victory Cup Wins - 0.515 Win % Cologne has also made some noise moving up 4 spots from 9th to 5th. This makes 3 European teams in the top 5. The Express won 413 games over the 10 season span for an average of 41.3 wins per season which is 2nd most during that span, 8 wins behind the Americans. Cologne was able to make the playoffs 7 times missing just 3 times to bring their record above .500 for playoff makes with a 10-9 record. The only thing missing from the Express resume is a Victory Cup win. 6 - Toronto Legion - Previously 4th 2,160 GP - 1,062 W - 940 L - 158 OTL - 2,292 P - 5,941 GF - 6,294 GA - 2.75 GFA - 2.91 GAA - 17 Playoffs - 13 Playoff Misses - 6 Victory Cup Wins - 0.492 Win % Toronto drop 2 spots to 6th but are one of 4 teams with over 1,000 wins through 30 seasons. The Legion were able to win 318 games over this decade for an average of 31.8 wins per season. That is why we see the fall from 4th to 6th as all teams ahead of them were able to win 38+ per season at least. The Legion were .500 in the playoff makes and misses column to bring that total to 17-13 which is tied for 3rd in the league. Toronto, however, was able to add one Victory Cup win to their resume to bring the total to 6 which is most in the League since Season 20. 7 - Riga Reign - Previously 5th 2,160 GP - 1,020 W - 981 L - 159 OTL - 2,204 P - 5,674 GF - 5,931 GA - 2.63 GFA - 2.75 GAA - 17 Playoffs - 13 Playoff Misses - 1 Victory Cup Win - 0.472 Win % Riga is the last team to join the 1,000 win club in the VHL with 1,020 wins over 30 seasons. The Reign won just 319 games in the decade for an average of 31.9 wins per season. This percentage is just 0.01 better than the Legion. The Reign though were able to make the playoffs at over a .500 clip just barely with a 6-4 record. The Reign also did not add to the Victory Cup totals either. Overall, it was a meh decade regular season wise for the Reign. 8 - Stockholm Vikings - Previously 10th 2,160 GP - 996 W - 1,001 L - 163 OTL - 2,153 P - 5,847 GF - 6,169 GA - 2.71 GFA - 2.86 GAA - 13 Playoffs - 17 Playoff Misses - 2 Victory Cup Wins - 0.461 Win % Stockholm with the name change was able to climb out of the hole that was 10th place with 355 wins over the decade. That is an average of 35.5 wins per season which isn't that bad since they made some ground on the two teams above them by 40 wins over the 10 season span. Stockholm was also able to make the playoffs 5 times and missed 5 times to bring that record to 13-17 which is still least in the league but it is more respectable. 9 - Calgary Wranglers - Previously 8th 2,160 GP - 972 W - 1,053 L - 135 OTL - 2,078 P - 5,990 GF - 7,025 GA - 2.77 GFA - 3.25 GAA - 14 Playoffs - 16 Playoff Misses - 1 Victory Cup Win - 0.450 Win % Calgary falls one more spot to 9th after being the leagues consensus best team for the first 20 seasons. Now the Wranglers are in the >1000 wins club with 972. The Wranglers won 323 games over this 10 season span which is just 32.3 per season but better than the 6th and 7th ranked Toronto and Riga teams. Barely. The Wrangler were able to almost claw their way back to .500 on making the playoffs with a 6-4 record in 10 season to bring the total to 14-16. Which is 2nd least in the league just ahead of the Stockholm Vikings. 10 - Seattle Bears - Previously 6th 2,160 GP - 926 W - 1,060 L - 174 OTL - 2,028 P - 5,681 GF - 6,464 GA - 2.63 GFA - 2.99 GAA - 15 Playoffs - 15 Playoff Misses - 2 Victory Cup Wins - 0.429 Win % Last but not least we have the Seattle Bears who just cracked the 900 win mark with a 40 win Season in Season 49. The Bears are the leagues biggest fallers from 6th to last. The Bears managed to win just 262 games during this stretch for an average of 26.2 per season which is dead last as every team above them managed at least 32. The Beats are one of 3 teams to have 1,000 losses throughout 3 decades and are the closes to 1,110. The Bears also almost let in 2.99 goals per game which is 2nd worst behind the Wranglers who are quite a fair bit ahead of them though. The Bears only made the playoffs 3 times missing 7. They get the worst team of the decade and are now worst team throughout 30 seasons.
  9. I'll tell ya one thing, NYA games are not disappointing. 6-5 win and 7-4 loss when two goals in the 7 came in the last period
  10. 1. At the time of writing, we stand at 4-7-1. How do you feel? I feel like at the time we were doing better than expected but since then we have fallen off sadly but we have stayed in much more games than expected and that is a goo thing for a young team, maybe next year we can push to be better. 2. Which team has surprised you the most thus far? I think we have been the most surprising, most had us dead in the water but we pulled off more wins and gave more scares to teams that thought we would be a 2 points. 3. Who will lead NYA in points at seasons end? Rhynex Entertainment has been on fire lately, I expect him to keep up the great work and lead the team 4. Is there a point task you enjoy doing above all others? If so, what is it? Media Spot for sure, I like doing historical stuff, not many people read but I love to do it. 5. Who is your favourite NHL team, and player on that team? I like Vancouver Canucks, Alexander Edler has always been one of my favs. 6. Xbox Series X or PS5? PS5. nothing against Xbox but I have always been a Playstation guy
  11. The New York Americans went into the season with modest expectations of not winning much games but keeping them close. Apart from some blowouts, I think it is mission accomplished so far in New York, New York. The Americans are 5-12-4 for 14 points which is 2nd last in the VHL just ahead of the Los Angeles Stars and just behind the Malmo Nighthawks. 5 wins and 4 OT/SO losses are awesome in my opinion and I can recall maybe 1 or 2 games where the Americans lost by more than 5 goals in those 12 losses. I think that is successful because we are in most games then lose at the end. We need a year then maybe we can start pushing to win more games then in 2 years we will be playoff contenders. That is how I envision this season and beyond going. Shawn Andrei Zyuzin by the way is having himself a decent rookie season on the blueline with 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points in 21 games to go along with 81 hits and 46 shots blocked. He also has 40 PIM on the season which seems like a lot at this point. Overall, this was a lot like how I would imagine his season going as a defensive defenseman.
  12. Vin Calia beats up Brian Strong Jr at 15:20 of 3rd period just couldnt stop taking L's against Moscow
  13. I think the two easiest options are to have your player drafted wherever they end up i.e like who was it this past draft, Gustav who had the best prospect in terms of TPE he would have been 1st, which is what we have now, this was easy rule change. the other option is just scrap the whole draft thing and the GM player just automatically goes to the team like it used to be, while neither is perfect, they would be better than what it was.
  14. couple of tough 1 goal losses. but hey this is what I wanted, to be competitive but not win so we get another good draft pick
  15. Jeffrey Pines and Rhynex Entertainment fight to a draw at 0:47 of 3rd periodJeffrey Pines beats up Rhynex Entertainment at 18:09 of 3rd period you really let rory beat you up smh.
  16. big win vs DC lets just ignore that loss to Warsaw
  17. Ahh we add another 10 seasons onto these rankings, because of the two new teams from Season 31 onwards, they will be ranked by win percentage. No I don't mean point percentage where OTL play a role in it, not that is still a loss and shouldn't be worth anything in my opinion so just straight up win percentage. 1 - HC Davos Dynamo - Previously 1st 1440 GP - 857 W - 494 L - 89 OTL - 1820 P - 4,631 GF - 3,846 GA - 16 Playoffs - 4 Missed Playoffs - 5 Victory Cups - 0.595 Win % The Dynamo for the better part of 2 VHL decades won 6 out of 10 games roughly in the regular season. That is remarkable if you think about it and they are the only team to win over 800 games during the 20 seasons with 857 total. They are the only team with under 500 losses with 494 and made the playoffs a remarkable 16 times in 20 seasons. 5 Victory Cups in the meantime too as Regular Season champions has them tied for 1st in the VHL during this time span. The Dynamo really were the cream of the crop from Season 20-39. Davos was even better in the 30's than they were in the 20's with 431 wins over 10 seasons. 2 - Helsinki Titans - Previously 3rd 1440 GP - 774 W - 561 L - 105 OTL - 1657 P - 4,458 GF - 4,028 GA - 11 Playoffs - 9 Missed Playoffs - 2 Victory Cups - 0.538 Win % The Helsinki Titans jump ahead one spot with a great decade to finish with 774 wins, 561 losses and 105 OTL for a total of 1657 points. The Titans made the playoffs 11 times while missing 9 times. Helsinki managed to add a few Victory Cup in this time frame as well which would make them tied for 3rd in that category. Helsinki and Davos battled it out to some great games over these past two decades to finish 1 and 2. Helsinki won 377 games over the last 10 seasons. 3 - New York Americans - Previously 5th 1440 GP - 774 W - 570 L - 96 OTL - 1650 P - 4,356 GF - 4,136 GA - 12 Playoffs - 8 Missed Playoffs - 2 Victory Cups - 0.538 Win % One of the biggest risers on the list are the New York Americans who went from 5th to 3rd and over took the Toronto Legion for top dog in North American division. The Americans finished the 30's with 774 wins, 570 losses and 96 OTL for 1650 points. The Americans were also able to add two Victory Cups to the cupboard in the 30th to be tied with Helsinki for 3rd in that category. New York had a great decade with 428 wins which was just 3 wins less than the league leading Dynamo. 4 - Toronto Legion - Previous 2nd 1440 GP - 714 W - 557 L - 97 OTL - 1534 P - 3,874 GF - 3,886 GA - 12 Playoffs - 8 Missed Playoffs - 5 Victory Cups - 0.496 Win % Toronto fell to 4th and behind the Americans in the NA Conference. The Legion finished with a record of 714-557-97 for 1534 points. The Legion made the playoffs 12 times and missed 8 but managed to be the best regular season team 5 times which is tied for 1st with Davos. However, in the 30s, the Legion only added 1 Victory Cup, while still good, it didn't match the 20's in which they won 4. It was a tough decade as the Legion only won 291 games which is a big reason they fell. 5 - Riga Reign - Previously 6th 1440 GP - 701 W - 629 L - 110 OTL - 1515 P - 4,145 GF - 4,092 GA - 11 Playoffs - 9 Missed Playoffs - 1 Victory Cup - 0.487 Win % Riga moves up to 5th place and just cracked the 700 win mark with 701 to go along with 629 losses and 114 OTL which was the 2nd most in the league. The Reign made the playoffs 11 times and missed 9 times. In the 30s the Victory Cup was spread out pretty evenly as the Riga Reign were able to win their 1st Victory Cup in 20 seasons dating back to Season 20. Riga played well but unfortunately had to play the same division with Davos and Helsinki who were clearly the best teams in the league. The Reign won 337 games over the 10 seasons. 6 - Seattle Bears - Previously 4th 1440 GP - 664 W - 662 L - 114 OTL - 1448 P - 4,069 GF - 4,198 GA - 12 Playoffs - 8 Missed Playoffs - 2 Victory Cups - 0.461 Win % Seattle falls to 6th still behind Toronto but got leap frogged by New York. Making them the 3rd ranked NA team. The Bears won 664 games, lost 662 games and lost in ot/so 114 times (most in the VHL). The Bears were the definition of hot and cold over the 20 seasons from Season 20. The Bears made the playoffs 12 times and missed the playoffs 8 times. The Bears also were not able to add to the Victory Cup total so that stays at 2. 7 - Quebec City Meute - Previously Not Ranked 648 GP - 296 W - 318 L - 34 OTL - 628 P - 1,790 GF - 1,918 GA - 5 Playoffs - 4 Missed Playoffs - 1 Victory Cup - 0.457 Win % Here we have the first expansion team in the QC Meute who came into the league and did pretty good despite the losing record. The Meute made the playoffs 5 times and missed the playoffs 4 times while also winning the Victory Cup once. I forget what season it was but they won the Victory Cup before some of the others teams that were in the league 11 seasons before them. 8 - Calgary Wranglers - Previously 8th 1440 GP - 649 W - 707 L - 84 OTL - 1379 P - 4,177 GF - 4,937 GA - 8 Playoffs - 12 Missed Playoffs - 1 Victory Cup - 0.451 Win % Calgary gets passed up by a newly expanded team in the Quebec which shouldn't bode well for them, the fans or the players. The Wranglers managed to win a Victory Cup in the 30s. Actually, the Wranglers were able to win 384 games throughout the 30s which is pretty good but that just goes to show how bad they were in the 20s, because of that they still stay in the 8 spot behind the Meute. The Wranglers are also the only team to have over 700 losses. 9th - Cologne Express - Previously Not Ranked 648 GP - 292 W - 305 L - 51 OTL - 632 P - 1,730 GF - 1,847 GA - 3 Playoffs - 6 Missed Playoffs - 0 Victory Cups - 0.451 Win % The Express actually have the win % as the Wranglers but due to them being in the league longer and having a Victory Cup, I guess I will have Cologne 9th. Express actually have more points than the Meute but don't have a Victory Cup and they have more losses in OT which give them the better point percentage rather than win percentage. Cologne made the playoffs 3 times and missed 6 times but that is due to playing in the tougher Euro division rather than the easier NA conference for the Meute. 10th - Vasteras Iron Eagles - Previously 7th 1440 GP - 641 W - 689 L - 110 OTL - 1,389 P - 3,902 GF - 4,249 GA - 8 Playoffs - 12 Missed Playoffs - 1 Victory Cup - 0.445 Win % Ahh poor Vasteras gets passed by both expansion teams and Calgary to drop to 10th and they are the biggest faller in the rankings. They have more points than Calgary but most of those came from OTL which they have 110 of to go with 641 wins and 689 losses. The Iron Eagles were the same team for the better parts of 2 decades with 321 wins in the 30s and 320 wins in the 20s. For that reason plus the OTL and tied for most playoff misses and least playoff makes (out of the non expansion sides), Vasteras is unfortunately the biggest loser so far. Reg Season Rankings
  18. yea suck on that beav. also imagine blowing a 3-0 lead against Toronto after getting 3 goals in 7 minutes
  19. lost again, i should probably get TPE into discipline
