  1. GM: Austin Gow (648/276/319/53/605) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Jason Glasser (1080/547/456/67/1,161) Record (after S20): 2,232 GP | 995 W | 1,082 L | 145 OTL | 2,155 P | 6,132 GF | 7,192 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 180 GP | 96 W | 67 L | 17 OTL | 4-1 vs TOR, 4-3 vs QUE, 4-5 vs NYA, 2-2 vs SEA, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-3 vs HEL Season 50 VHL Entry Draft: 1st Round, Pick 2: RW Theo Axelsson 1st Round, Pick 10: G Joanna Akerfeldt 2nd Round, Pick 16: D Luke Matthews In back to back seasons, the Wranglers picked 2nd overall and this time they got to chose RW Theo Axelsson and that was a home run pick. Akerfeldt was looked at as the goalie of the future possibly even a trade chip as Weinstein was still in town. Late 2nd round pick, Matthews was a dart thrown at the board. Trades (Regular Season): N/A Season 50 Regular Season - 72 GP | 33 W | 29 L | 10 OTL | 76 P | 142 GF | 167 GA Season 50 was a magical moment for the VHL as never before has a Sim League reached a 50th season. The season for the Wranglers went a lot better than the previous two. The Wranglers moved up from dead last to the 3rd and final playoff spot in the NA Conference. Theo Axelsson was the 2nd overall pick from the previous draft and he stepped in nicely with 58 point season to go along with a massive 324 hits. Gowecny chipped in with 54 points of his own while Marquis Hyvarinen led the team with 63 points. Weinstein was also a huge reason why this team jumped up so high in the standings. He had a record of 33-23-9 with a 0.929 save percentage and a 2.05 G.A.A with 10 shutouts. Season 50 Playoffs - 4 GP | 0 W | 2 L | 2 OTL The Wranglers finished in the 3rd spot meaning they would play Quebec City in the North America Conference Semi-Finals. Looking at a glance, yes they got swept but if you dig deeper, two losses came in OT and another loss was a 1 goal game. The only game the Wranglers were out of was Game 1 where they lost 5-2. Game 2 was a OTL game in which the Wranglers led in the 3rd 2-1 before QUE was able to tie the game with 3 minutes left. Game 3 was another game in which the Wranglers blew a 3-2 lead before QUE stormed back in the 3rd with 2 goals to take the lead with less than 3 minutes left. Finally, in Game 4, it was a 1-1 game for 90% of the game as Theo Axelsson tied it up in the 1st before QUE won it in OT. Awards: N/A Overall: After two down seasons, the Wranglers are moving back up in the VHL world. A hard fought series against the Meute shows the rebuild on the right track for Season 50 and beyond. Theo Axelsson and Ariel Weinstein form the core while Travis Gowecny and Ted Doughty could join the two aforementioned players. Marquis Hyvarinen moves into the 100 point career mark with 139 making him one of 46 players to do so. Jace Hines and Ted Doughty could join him next season as well. Ariel Weinstein has the best save percentage for a Wrangler goalie and his 2.05 G.A.A is 2nd among goalies as well. He looks like he could be the best Wrangler goalie of all time, he has the potential to do so. Overall, this has been an interesting season for the Wranglers, the fruits of their rebuild are starting to show. Wrangler Stats
  2. 1) The trade deadline has passed. How does the roster look to you? I think this roster will be fine for the rest of the season, it is a young team looking to improve and we will. Hopefully we can hold onto the final playoff spot and the young guys can get some valuable experience. 2) A full roster means less ice time for everyone. What are your thoughts on your current ice time? It's fine, the more the merrier, it will keep me fresh for the rest of the season 3) Newly acquired defenseman Bob Tristan (@n0hbody) has shown he’s able to find the net extremely efficiently, scoring on 66% of shots taken so far. Why do you think his shooting % is so high? Because he knows the goalies weaknesses already, hes not sharing it so far but we will pry it out of him. 4) Recently signed defenseman Roman Grachev (@humiller) excels at blocking shots, leading all new waiver signees with 17 shots blocked. What does it say about him as a player to block so many shots? He is selfless and will do whatever he can to help the team win, we need a lot more players like that to win and he is a good player to keep around 5) The VHL regular season is heating up and looks like it will go right down to the end. Do you pay attention to the VHL? Why or why not? I don't pay attention to the VHL, i probably should as i am draft eligible but we will see, whoever I go to will be happy to get me. 6) You get a 1 hour lesson with any NHL player on a single skill. Who are you picking and what are you working on? Why Kris Russell so I can learn how to block more shots and block them without getting in the goalies way.
  3. The Philadelphia Reapers are just holding onto the 4th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 46 points. This puts them 2 ahead of the Miami Marauders who have 44 points with a game in hand and a better winning percentage. Both teams trail Ottawa who holds onto 3rd in the conference with 53 points. Both Philly and Miami are in reach of third but it seems we will come down to the wire with Miami and Philly fighting for the last playoff spot. Halifax, Las Vegas and Mississauga are the top contenders in the VHLM while Saskatoon and Yukon could be darkhorses. The rest, Mexico City, Ottawa, Philadelphia and Miami will most likely be first round fodder. SAZ on the other hand has put up a decent season in Philly scoring 3 goals and assisting on 20 goals for 23 points in 53 games. He has 172 hits and 72 shots blocked making him a very fine two way defenseman. It remains to be seen if SAZ will continue to play for the Reapers as it seems SAZ will be looking to make the jump to the VHL next year. He may not be ready but it be like that sometimes because the VHL has some dumb rules stating after you get drafted your 8 season clock starts even if you return to the VHLM when you aren't ready. Stupid VHL is Stupid.
  4. GM: Austin Gow (576/243/290/43/529) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Jason Glasser (1080/547/456/67/1,161) Record (after S20): 2,160 GP | 962 W | 1,053 L | 135 OTL | 2,079 P | 5,990 GF | 7.0251 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 176 GP | 96 W | 65 L | 15 OTL | 4-1 vs TOR, 4-2 vs QUE, 4-5 vs NYA, 2-2 vs SEA, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-3 vs HEL Season 49 VHL Entry Draft: Round 1, Pick 2: D Ted Doughty Round 1, Pick 6: C Kai Roberts Round 1, Pick 10: LW Kendrick E Tsbagsuph-Diks Round 2, Pick 11: D Jim Lahey Round 2, Pick 15: RW Alokin Alset Round 2, Pick 20: RW Kevin Kalopski Round 4, Pick 33: D Matthew DeLong Trades (Regular Season): To (S49) D - Tobias Klingberg To (S49) C - Kai Roberts Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow @eaglesfan0366 HC Davos Dynamo GM: Vladamir Komarov To (S46) C - Kol Mikaelson To S51 TOR 4th (Forfeited) Toronto Legion GM: Mike Molholt @Molholt Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Some interesting trades here, the Mikaelson was for the tank, the 4th ended up being nothing. The Roberts for Klingberg deal was a interesting one to say the least. I don't know why this trade happened, maybe because Roberts had no interest in being in Calgary so GM Austin Gow got what he could for him and well, Klingberg was a very good get. The Roberts agency also had or still has a very short life span when it comes to the VHL, retiring early and such, maybe that wasa problem too. Also I can't remember what the username for Komarov is. Season 49 Regular Season - 72 GP | 9 W | 57 L | 6 OTL | 24 P | 87 GF | 264 GA Yikes, just when you thought Season 48 was bad, Season 49 for the Calgary Wranglers said hold my beer. This is what happens to compete in the VHL so you aren't stuck in no mans land. I guess that is a lot easier to do back then when there were so few teams in the VHL compared to now. The Wranglers went full Pittsburgh Penguins in 1984 when they tanked for Mario. Nothing more to see here or talk about for this season at all really. Their top scorer scored 39 points. Season 49 Playoffs - N/A Did not qualify. Trades (off-season): To (S45) G - Ariel Weinstein To S52 CGY 1st (D Grigory Kopralkov) S50 CGY 2nd (D Keith Sampson III) S52 CGY 2nd (LW Austin Hickey V) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow New York Americans GM: Ron Dayne III @Tagger Now here was the big trade for Calgary. New York had no need for a goalie or was going to enter a rebuild I assume, so Calgary swooped in a nailed down one of the most if not the most important position in hockey. It was a steep price of a 1st and 2 2nds all owned by Calgary, who at the time just had a 9 win season, so GM Gow was betting heavily on himself to turn it around before Season 52. Awards: N/A Overall: Overall, it was a rebuilding year where Gow and Calgary were basically just there. I wouldn't doubt that Gow and co didn't even show up to all the games this season, just phoned it in. Nothing of note changed on the player stats page. CGY ran with CPU goalies all year. Hopefully Season 50 has more to report than this season. Only Ted Doughty has a future on this team form this Season 49 roster.
  5. congrats! i was hoping this was someone else i could bug saying they are the worst hired commie since @Beaviss
  6. Shawn Andrei Zyuzin took awhile to get his feet going in the VHLM. The last few weeks though he is finding his game scoring 3 goals and assisting on 15 goals for 18 points in 38 games. SAZ had about 6 points in his first 15 games so to pick it up in the next 23 is great. SAZ also has 119 hits on the season which places him 5th in the league. His 48 shots blocked aren't anything to write home but he is trying. Overall, this has been a very pleasing experience the past 20 games picking up his game. I can't wait to see where Philly ends up in the standings as well, the Reapers started well behind the eight ball as they had a tough schedule but now the Reapers are 8th, just 4 points behind 7th place in the standings. Now it's time to look forward to the World Juniors, SAZ plans to make the Team Asia lines and hopefully Asia can do some damage in the tournament. I am not sure exactly who else will be on the team, but it should be a very fun experience. Last time I played in the WJC was in Season 65 I think but we ended up losing. This time I hope to win the whole thing. It has been fun being back this time in the VHLM, I can't wait until I come into the new VHL with all the new teams, preferably Prague since they are one of the worst teams since S68 it seems, excluding the new teams.
  7. 1) The locker room is a sacred place for players. Many locker rooms have their own unwritten rules. What is your #1 rule to follow for locker room etiquette? Clean up after yourself, don't step on the logo, the usual things 2) We have a lot of new players on the Reaper roster. How has the influx of new people affected practice? It is great because more people = more things to learn and we can do bigger drills 3) Our goalie, Jacob Carson, is 3rd in the league with 5 shutouts. Including recently recording 3 consecutive shutouts! Why do you think we’ve been able to get so many shutouts? Carson hasn't been that busy with shots but he makes the saves when he gets them and that is huge because it can't be fun to stay tuned in for that little amount of shots but he does it! 4) Reaper defenseman Richard Fitzwell is leading the league in hits and 4 Reapers occupy the top 6 spots in hits. What does that say about the Reaper style of hockey? We play a hard style throwback hockey where we hit everything that moves, we know its a fast game now so to take anything we can from them while keeping up with them is a plus. 5) Fitzwell is also leading the league in penalty minutes. Any advice for him to lower his time in the box? Tone back the anger, breath before you go out there and do something. 6) You can select one everyday location, that is not a normal ice rink, to hold a hockey game, (think something like a grocery store, or a mall, or a movie theater…) what location are you choosing for a game? Why? West Edmonton Mall, they have everything in that thing, why not add a hockey game just for shits and giggles
  8. i beat victor in a finals, in the cleganebowl no less.
  9. For shits and giggles here is how a team in the portal era would look. We are going to create a team using TPE earned all time, not TPA. Yes I know there is a difference but screw it. I wonder how this team would stack up against NHL teams in real life. My guess is probably very good. Centers Ryan Kastelic (2000 TPE) (1st All time TPE) @Enorama Hunter Hearst Hemsley (1828 TPE) (2nd All time TPE) @Beaviss Jet Jaguar (1681 TPE) (5th All time TPE) @gorlab Podrick Cast (1635) (7th All time TPE) @Victor Left Wingers Julius Freeman (1741 TPE) (3rd All Time) @rjfryman Julian Borwinn (1681 TPE) (4th All Time) @Jubo07 Gabriel McAllister (1613 TPE) (9th All Time) @CowboyinAmerica Matt Thompson (1571 TPE) (12th All Time) @Beketov Right Wingers Dan Wilinsky (1431 TPE) (18th All Time) @oilmandan Keaton Louth (1402 TPE) (23rd All Time) @Beaviss Jake Davis (1335 TPE) (30th All Time) @Josh Tyson Kohler (1221 TPE) (44th All Time) @Kendrick Defenseman Mats Johnsson (1674 TPE) (6th All Time) @Quik Charlie Paddywagon (1453 TPE) (14th All Time) @DMaximus Joseph McWolf (1434 TPE) (17th All Time) @McWolf Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen (1411 TPE) (20th All Time) @flyersfan1453 Apollo Hackett (1406 TPE) (21st All Time) @Renomitsu Vladimir Pavlov (1404 TPE) (22nd All Time) @Victor Goalies Norris Stopko (1623 TPE) (8th All Time) @Bushito Kallis Kriketers (1598 TPE) (10th All Time) @hedgehog337 What a collection of players we have here. The Centers we have 4 of the top 10 TPE earners in the portal era with Cast seemingly sliding in as the 4th line center. At LW we have 3 of the top 10 TPE earners as well including back to back with Freeman and Borwinn, however a drop off to Thompson at 12th. Right Wing is surprisingly very weak with Dan Wilinsky coming in at top dog but 18th all time. Tyson Kohler making it at 44th all time is very weak but that is no knock to Kohler who was a good player in his time and still up for debate for the HoF. Defenseman start strong with Johnsson but start to middle off with the remaining 5 coming in between 14 and 22. We round out the goalies with Stopko and Kaillis who are 8 and 10 all time. It is a very strong team and I would place them in this order for lines: Julian Borwinn - Podrick Cast - Dan Wilinsky Matt Thompson - Jet Jaguar - Jake Davis Gabriel McAllister - Hunter Hearst Hemsley - Keaton Louth Julius Freeman - Ryan Kastelic - Tyson Kohler Mats Johnsson - Vladimir Pavlov Charlie Paddywagon - Apollo Hackett Joseph McWolf - Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen Norris Stopko Kallis Kriketers I think the first line of Borwinn - Cast and Wilinsky is very offensive and that is what you want from your first line, people who can put up the points to help you win. Second line of Thompson - Jet - Davis is like your first but not as much skill, obviously no knock to these guys but they just aren't there like the first line in terms of skill. Third line is your checking line and McAllister - HHH and Louth is a scary checking line, they can kill you by terms of hits, strong defensive player and they can score too. Fourth line is a mix of all the other lines as Freeman is a strong checker and good scorer, Kastelic is strong defensively and Kohler is a pure skill guy. Defense, I have them all well balanced with Mats playing with Pavlov, Charlie and Apollo, McWolf playing with Smitty. All play huge minutes and all will rotate well, can't go wrong with any pairing here if we are being honest. Goalies can split starts as they are both number 1 goalies. This was fun to look into and here are the players who just missed the cut: C - Jasper Canmore (1583 TPE) LW - Jerry Garcia (1541 TPE) @GustavMattias RW - Mikko Aaltonen (1140 TPE) @GRZ D - Brady Stropko Jr (1302 TPE) D - Leph Twinger (1300 TPE) @DollarAndADream G - Brick Wahl (1397 TPE) @BladeMaiden I have to say, its pretty impressive that Bash has what 4 players almost making the all TPE team, what a TPE whore and I don't understand how he was able to do it. Beavis is on twice with HHH and Keaton Louth, Victor is on twice with Cast and Pavlov as we can see they are whores too. Everyone else, is on once, proving that there are multiple TPE whores in this league. Overall, this was pretty fun, agree or disagree with my lines? Tell me who you would put on certain lines.
  10. 1) We just passed the 1/3rd mark for the season. The Reapers currently sit in the final playoff spot. How are you feeling about the season so far? I feel while it is good to have a playoff spot, we should be doing better. We haven't been nearly as consistent as we should. Hopefully we find some in the final 2/3 of the season. 2) How are you physically feeling? Any bumps, bruises, or nagging injuries? The style of hockey I play is physical so I always have some bumps or bruises. I go out there and play sturdy defense, hit and block shots. 3) The Reapers are near the top of the league with 4 overtime/shootout losses. How can we improve our performance in overtime and/or the shootout? We need to work on penalty shots for the shootout and we need to work on out 4/4 play. 4) The VHLM Commissioner will be stepping down at the end of the season and a new one will be named. Any thoughts? I don't have any thoughts on the matter. 5) If you were made VHLM Commissioner for a day and could only change one thing, what would it be? I would change the OT thing, no shootout, continuous OT forever! 6) Hypothetically we find ourselves in an “Among Us” situation. We’re on a spaceship and there’s imposters we need to eject from the ship. Which teammate are you voting to eject first? Why? I don't know what Among us is, but I would eject our GM just for the lulz
  11. The Philadelphia Reapers had modest expectations coming into Season 74 and so far they are a middle of the pack team that keeps on improving. They could be a dark horse come playoff time as they have 22 points in 22 games. They are just 2 points behind the Ottawa Lynx who are 3rd in their division. The Reapers are beomcing a well rounded team with mainstay Richard Fizwell leading the way on defense, now entering his 4th VHLM season. Carson Walkers and Darius Marimoto are the leaders on offense with Ernie King, Kuisma Aki and Thomas King providing depth. SAZ is coming into his own as a shutdown defenseman with limited offensive skills. Jacob Carson is a very good goaltender who the Reapers look to lean on a lot in the coming season and hopefully playoffs. Darius Marimoto and Richard Fizwell lead the way in points with 22 and 21 respectively. Fizwell and Walkers provide the muscle so far with 114 and 81 hits. Fizwell and Rockwall are the walls on defense with 39 and 31 shots blockd between them. Marimoto and King are the goal scorers with 10 and 9 goals. Fizwell and SAZ are the penalty minute kings with 54 and 38. Overall, it looks like Richard Fizwell is the team MVP so far. Jacob Carson needs to improve just a bit more and the Reapers could be better as his 0.874 save percentage isn't that great at all but his 2.92 G.A.A isn't bad, although it could be better. If Carson can improve to at least .890 to .900 the Reapers would be more than capable enough to make some noise.
  12. GM: Austin Gow (504/234/233/37/505) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Jason Glasser (1080/547/456/67/1,161) Record (after S20): 2,088 GP | 953 W | 996 L | 129 OTL | 2,055 P | 5,903 GF | 6,761 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 176 GP | 96 W | 65 L | 15 OTL | 4-1 vs TOR, 4-2 vs QUE, 4-5 vs NYA, 2-2 vs SEA, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-3 vs HEL Season 48 VHL Entry Draft: N/A Trades (Regular Season): To Season 50 Toronto 1st Round Draft Pick (G Joanna Akerfedlt) Season 50 Toronto 2nd Round Draft Pick (LW John Syeschel) To C Tim TebowGow Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow @chatfan036 Toronto Legion GM: Mike Molholt @Molholt Very surprised Calgary got a 1st for a retiring TebowGow but that's what it takes to win then that's what it takes to win. Gow also got a 2nd as well which is a very nice haul to be honest. Maybe the GM's can elaborate more on the trade. Season 48 Regular Season - 72 GP | 22 W | 43 L | 7 OTL | 51 P | 130 GF | 243 GA Ahh, the downswing of a GM's tenure. This is the cost of 3 finals appearances in a row plus 1 Game 7 in the Conference Finals. The Wranglers actually should have been worse but Blake Campbell was in net and he played well considering the team in front of his. Campbell and his 0.917 save percentage single handedly kept Calgary out of last place in the entire VHL. Very weird signing if we are being honest probably hoped to flip him at the deadline but the goalie situation in the VHL was basically figured out and he had no where to go so he wanted to pad the stats as much as he could before retirement. The Wranglers did finish last in the NA Conference, TebowGow was leading the team in scoring before leaving to Toronto with 53 points. AIM-11 ended up the teams leading in points officially with 49 points. Marquis Hyvarinen fared better than his brother is a 37 point season which is pretty close to what Kerkko put up. Overall, it wasn't that good a season for Calgary as the rebuild begins in Season 49. Season 47 Playoffs - N/A Did not qualify. Trades (off-season): To Season 49 Riga 2nd Round Draft Pick (D Jim Lahey) To Season 49 Calgary 2nd Round Draft Pick (C Mario Lee) Season 49 New York 2nd Round Draft Pick (RW Jake Steel) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Riga Reign GM: Steve Smeall @Toast To RW Jace Hines To Season 50 Toronto 2nd Round Pick (LW John Syeschel) Season 50 Calgary 3rd Round Draft Pick (LW Spit Fire) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Seattle Bears GM: Blake Campbell @Banackock This trade looks like Calgary moved up in the 2nd round to take Lahey. Fairly straight forward trade for Calgary and Riga. The 2nd trade looks like Calgary needs to reach the cap floor while Seattle is shedding cap. Another straight forward trade. Awards: N/A Overall: It was a down year for everyone involved. Not much to report other than TebowGow moving up to 9th in scoring with 366 points. He passed Ryan Sullivan and could have passed Roman Andreev had he not been traded and could have flirted with 400 career points. The rest of the players who played this season have less than 50 points and aren't worth reporting on to be honest. Blake Campbell's save percentage has him tied for 6th with Skylar Rift and is better than Martin Brookside and Bernie Gow. It's not hard to imagine that maybe if Campbell was in net last season they might have won. The fact he won 20 games too shows how good of a goalie he really was with this rag tag bunch. Maybe Season 49 will be better for the Wranglers.
  13. @Berocka why go after me right away ass
  14. Hellebuyck wasn't that good tho. Price is the best goalie in the league.
  15. best goalie in the league couldn't stop the Flames from lighting up the Jets.
