  1. Is it just me or is that article being kind of shitty to Emery?
  2. It has been an up and down ride in Davos. Mostly, the season has been filled with ups and Otto Axelsson is enjoying a career year. While it is only Axelsson's second season in the league this season marks a great improvement for a player who was previously written off. With sixteen games still left in the season, Otto has set career highs in many aspects; Otto has improved from just seven goals to twelve and could finish the season somewhere around the fifteen goal mark, his increased shooting rate and confidence are noticeable. Otto has shown a small increase in playmaking as his assist total has gone from 26 to 28 and we can expect him to hit the 35 mark by the end of the season. Axelsson is on pace to eclipse the 50 point barrier which would make this season the opposite of a sophomore slump. Axelsson was beleaguered with defensive woes last season and saw his ice time cut for it, this season sees the Swede at a +33 and barring a major collapse that number looks to one of the top ones for Davos. Axelsson has seen a dip in his physical play, his hits are down from 51 to just 9 as he looks to engage in the play with the puck and not without it.
  3. The Dynamo had a few days off recently and Otto Axelsson made the most of them. The young Swede rented a cabin by a secluded lake where he spent three days with no electricity and no awful annoying people. It was a treat for the second line winger, who is in the midst of a very good sophomore season, to get away from everything and recharge his batteries. "I just loved being able to swim and fish in the little lake without having any responsibilities. I was able to wake up when I wanted and go to sleep whenever and nobody dictated how I did anything for three whole days and it was a blast. I hope to get back out there in the offseason and spend a few weeks out there. Coffee on the edge of the water, while I watched the sun go up, was just bliss for me. I am ready to get back to the grind of the rink but I really needed these days off, my body was sore and it needed some love and care. I hope that I can continue putting up decent number for Davos but honestly, I expect even more from myself during the course of the season." exclaimed the Swedish playmaker.

  8. I was unsure how I would like playing in Davos, Seattle is really all I have known in my time in the league and I tend to like sticking to what I know. I'm not afraid of the unknown per se, but... well, let's just say I like when things fit into "boxes" and that's that. Knowing where the best place to get my coffee in the morning was awesome, knowing what the traffic was going to be like just based on the day and time was awesome. Some may say these are little things and not worth getting worked up over, yet, you make 1,000,000 of these little changes and they add up. Your whole routine is out of whack and you have to go about the process of learning all the tiny quirks and shortcuts to get your life back to your normal. Anyways, I was trying to tell you a story about how I feel about playing for the Dynamo. I have to admit, playing here has been a lot of fun. Coming over with McAllister and Brodeur has made the transition easier and the on-ice success has definitely been a positive addition. I have been scoring at a point-per-game pace this season which is a nice change from my disastrous rookie season. I was struggling to score this season so when I popped in my first of the season last night I was quite elated; it was the game winner too which was just gravy. I've been settling in and working with the coaching staff over the past few weeks and I like what they are teaching me. I've been finding better passing lanes and learning to be more patient when I have to puck. One thing that I need to work on is my shot; in some occasions, it makes more sense to just pull up and let it rip but my shot isn't anything to be afraid of. I have actually noticed that teams will back off of me because they know that I cannot fire the puck for shit. It pisses me off and I need to use that as motivation to get that part of my game better, I don't like being an embarrassment to my teammates and GM. One day I would like to be considered one of the premier players in this league and I will continue to work towards that goal. I fell below my potential early on and I sort of lost my passion for the game but it's back now and I am committed to being the best I can be. I am unsure what the future brings for Otto Axelsson, I know not where my feet will take me, I have no destination in sight yet I know some stops I would like to make along the way before I ride off into the sunset. It is good to have goals although I believe in making my goals vaguer in nature; trying to achieve a specific criterion can add undue stress and I don't need that.
  9. Right deFenceman
  10. At least he isn't D or something. That would really give me the heebie-jeebies.

  15. Yeah, but he has to carry us...
  16. HC Davos Dynamo currently sits atop the entire league with a 5-0 record and a +11 goal differential. The Dynamo are led by the dynamic centre, The Charm who leads the entire league with 10 points in the five games he has played thus far. Charm has benefited from the trade that brought reigning MVP, Gabe McAllister to the Dynamo. McAllister has five goals in five games and his white-hot offensive game has allowed the team to roll with two scoring lines; the increased depth for Davos is a major reason that they sit alone on top of the league. On the other side of the puck, Kane, Volkov and Hood are all scoring a point per game or better; Hood was rumoured to be on the trade block earlier in the season and his stellar production leaves one to wonder if GM Tyler Owens is contemplating holding onto the young rearguard. Last but not least, the impressive play of Shawn Brodeur between the pipes has been the backbone of the team. Brodeur is arguably the best net-minder in the league and his steady presence in the net has allowed the Dynamo to focus on playing their fast and loose offensive game. It remains to be seen if this pace can be kept up all season.

  22. Welcome to the VHL friend!
  23. After a pedestrian rookie season that saw Otto Axelsson put up 33 points in 72 games, he was included in a trade that sent reigning MVP Gabriel Mcallister to the HC Davos Dynamo. One has to wonder if Axelsson's value was low after his development stalled or if his disappointing jump to the VHL was to blame. Either way, the trade is over and done with the Seattle Bears selected Jóhannes Vilhjálmsson 4th overall and appear ready to move on from the maligned Swede. Axelsson was approached for a quote after the trade and this to say: "Uh, you know never easy being traded and already two times I get shipped to the new team. I know not if I am good for Calgary but I thought for sure I am great for Seattle, now I back to Europe and close to home and now I want to be good for Dynamo. The team has been very kind to me so far and I work on things with the coach. I am better defensively and I hope to take next step offensively and make Davos look smart for getting me."
