Let's call this the get me back up to speed thread. It looks like Pablo is listed as the Calgary GM? And is their entire team inactive or some shit? Most of their roster players are from the S40's, and there are only two players who have update threads in their forum, but they have both not been updated for a while...

So I was browsing through and saw @Higgins' goalkeeper listed as (S53) in the Ottawa Lynx forum, yet it doesn't signify he was sent down by a VHL team, nor does it seem like he has been drafted by a VHL team looking at the draft history... WTF is going on here?

Why have rules if you are not going to enforce them? I must admit in my opinion the simmer had a oversight as well. If the GM totally forgot, then by the eighth-last game the simmer should be putting the back-up in, even without the GM's consent, to "enforce" the rule on his end and maintain the integrity of the rules in case the opposing team had already played their backup for eight games earlier in the season. As for you saying it is "punishment" by an uncompliant team having their backups forced in by the simmer, it was rather unfortunate that because of oversight by the commissioners a team that had followed the rules had their win turned into a loss through a re-sim due to their opposition overlooking the rule.

Who the hell is eligible? I've been through the rosters of all seven teams currently and the only ones tagged as S55 other than me are Dexter Lane, Rusty Trombone, Fuk D World, and Lyle Smallwood. Add in the trio of new players in Colter Knights, Felix Savard, and Drahoslav Detlev, and that makes a total of eight players eligible for the draft?! I don't think I saw a single first-generation player recreating at the trade deadline this time around either...

I thought the cheapest compensation was a 2nd rounder, then a pair of 2nds, then a 1st rounder, and finally a pair of 1sts. Unless that team offers you a relatively high salary that requires a compensation of two first rounders, why wouldn't the compensation be worth it? In fact, it might favour them as sacrificing one or two second round picks for a first round talent like yourself is beneficial?

If they do draft you, can't you insist on a 1-year contract then be a RFA in the off season?
