  10. Shawn, what was the OP's purpose intros discussion? It was to build for the future if starting over had to occur. Keeping the Sedins makes little to no sense considering in 2-3 seasons they will be sitting in a suite watching games and waiting for their #'s to be lifted into the rafters. No one is saying they suck, they clearly have shown that they are going at a .8-1.0 PPG pace this year and thats a solid output for their age. But relative to the topic at hand, they would be a very weak pick to keep. They hold no value considering you just say they wouldn't go anywhere. If they aren't going anywhere than they are on the roster for 2-3 seasons and then what...you could've chose 2 players that are younger. Okay and if you say "well the knowledge they give youngsters would be beneficial", you are right it would. Guess what though? So would the knowledge given from various other veterans that I wouldn't be picking to stay on my team. Sweet, they lead a very mediocre lineup in scoring this year. Who else would you pick? Someone that you could at least gain value from through trade. It's like if I was to have to protect two players for the Lakers, I wouldn't choose Kobe because as a business it makes little sense as he is retiring.
  11. Best answer I have is to ask @Smarch can you he knowledgable on this. I'm lost with all the changes they've done.
  12. Best course of action is to see if any of the teams who aren't against the cap totally can take you on. Some won't because they are shitty people (Quebec), but it would be best they do something good and sign you.
  13. Also factor in that the Canucks would not want cap dumps in the trade. Otherwise if their are cap dumps, what value are you really getting from other teams? So no, I don't think they have the trade value people think at this stage in their careers. There comes a time when a player just because too old to acquire anything back that would have an impact. Instead of the Sedins you could pick two players that are familiar with the current young guys. Those two other players would have less salary, familiarity, age on their side and a fanbase excited to see what they could do. So in the end it's players like: Baerschi > 4th rounder in a cap dump.
  14. Hahahaha All four of those players have value but the Sedins can only be traded together, so it would be easier finding value for Cam and Elias where you want it on different teams because you know a team will overpay. With the Sedins you have to trade them to the game team and thus you may not get the same value. Regardless, selecting the Sedins is so shortsighted that you'd be fired shortly after.
  15. It would be like me including Elias and Cammel. I chose Zajac as my oldest player and he is 30 years old (he bolded early haha) because I don't see him as that much of a disadvantage.
  16. So you'd win games in 2-3 seasons but hen after that have a huge downward spiral. Instead selecting people other than the twins would get you a group that grows together.
  17. I wish I cared after seeing the name Jala, but sadly only 50% of me does.
  18. Looks as hot as Rosie Huntington in lingerie!
  19. Not to mention once they retire that GM would be fired for doing so because the team would go on the decline. Yes the Sedins have been great players, but now they cost the team wins with their slow skating dumb penalties. They are amazing talents in the offensive zone and they are defensively responsible, but they are overworked for their age and selecting them in this would be short-sighted.
  20. So you are thinking for the future and pick two guys set to retire in the next 2-3 seasons
  21. Maybe you need to go into a different line of work.
  22. Jerrick, Ackerman and Bronson show.
  23. Damn son. GG Helsinki. Time to regroup boys
  24. True, totally different players. Really depends on what you're looking for. I'm surprised you didn't list Demko the first time, easily is the best prospect the Canucks have.
