Yes but nothing is being brought back, they were always there but only one person was responsible for them. The more hands on deck the less work involved for each member and the more noticeable the pages become to other internet users. Those ads you speak of are covered in campaigns. That's the point of advertisement campaigns, you go to forums and see if money will help them promote your page with a banner at the top of the forum. In regards to buying TPE, no. Donations are there. You can't pay to play any more than you can now and even then that money is used for hosting and eventually recruitment efforts.

So there have been a lot of discussions lately about our system, our members and anything else with relation to recruitment. I'm here to let you know a bunch of information regarding Recruitment and just give you a February Update. I'd like to submit an update to keep everyone informed on what we are doing and how you can help if you can spare 5 minutes that may result in you gaining 20+ TPE if you successful recruit a member. Facebook Our Recruitment Team will all have access to the VHL Facebook page and are all given the "Editor" role in hopes of sparking more discussing and getting our page out there. In the grand scheme of things this is just a small step and will help gain a bit of minor exposure through such things are comments, link posting and group inclusion. Our Editor squad will be going to Sportsnet, TSN, etc.. pages and commenting on relevant videos, pictures and comments in a positive and topical fashion to help generate views that hopefully help us in our future Facebook advertisements. Regarding facebook advertisements, I went into our Ad Campaign we did last year and it appears the search was way too narrow. So I went to a friend at Hootsuite to give a bit more insight on things and we will have a better understanding of how to recruit and what to do while do so to gain a more profitable advertisement Twitter Twitter can be a tricky best at times as it's not as much business/advertisement based as Facebook, but the sponsored Ads can work through different avenues here and there. Our Recruitment squad all have the details to sign in and hopefully we will be pushing this like Facebook in regards to trying to gain more discussion. Obviously Hashtags and topical stories will be our focus in trying to gain people. I should state that from my records, we have had 3 people in the past join the VHL from Twitter; unfortunately that number is zero for Facebook. Instagram A new feature we are bringing back. We used to have an Instagram account but Instagram had different rules back then for image sizes. Hopefully this sparks the creative graphic and visually pleased members and users to join our site. Add us at @victoryhockeyleague YouTube We have a couple guys are consider themselves YouTube specialists (or more so than a few of our other guys including myself). They will be targeting YouTube and hopefully we will be able to reach out to some bigger Hockey related YouTube channels and YouTuber's to advertise and promote our simulation league. Discord Discord is what a lot of sites have as their chat. The VHL has a discord channel as well which is located here: (https://discord.gg/p5DFWea) Not many have done this but we've tried our hand at it and it has seen some interest, but we will be using discord channels to promote our site with like minded users. Through NHL, Hockey, EASHL, etc.. discords we look to bring in members interested in the same things we are in relation to our league as whole. Affiliates I will be reaching out to other leagues in hopes of affiliating and posting their link over here and in turn having our link on their site. If there is a site you know of that we should link with, please PM me and I can make it happen. Having one person contact all these sites is best in order to keep it all going through one persons approval. I will also be going into each affiliate we already are affiliated with and refreshing our post and hopefully giving a newer updated post. This is just basic Recruiting Housekeeping per say. Recruitment Campaigns Recruitment campaigns will be going on and the opportunity to gain a lot of TPE will always be in play. Keep in mind when the rules attached to a campaign are posted, anyone during that campaign that you recruit, will be eligible to get you a certain reward for your update threads (aka TPE, Doubles Weeks, etc..) Likewise, we may also post flash posts that give you small amounts of TPE for upvoting on Reddit, or Tweeting or even liking a Facebook post that we have promoted. We may run graphics competitions for various advertisement campaigns that will reward members for participating. We recently ran one that will see a payout shortly here! The goal of our Recruitment Team is to gain an influx of members and hopefully move into some more stocked teams in the league. We can not speak for the blue team but we ourselves have no affiliation with expansion or anything in regards to the cap numbers, are job is simply to recruit likeminded individuals and boost the viewership at the VHL. In turn, it will allow us to have fuller rosters, a more active participation in discussion and a better product moving forward. If you have any ideas, suggestions or comments please direct them to our recruitment team. I hate when people say this as if it means people who prefer 2 lines are shit members for their thoughts. Its a sim league, you know for fun. It just so happens people have fun in different ways and if the minority feels they aren't having fun....it's the minority and not something for the majority to change. Look at, yes; but not change. If 8 out of 10 people prefer Mars bars over Snickers, than it's obvious the majority of people are fans of Mars bars. That doesn't mean the Mars bars supporters don't hear the Snickers fans out on things, but it's obvious there is a majority.

An announcement of the recruiting events is enough to motivate people because it is attached to TPE in two ways, no need to link it to the obvious...which is more people means more lines. Why are you so tied up on the lingo? haha its getting ridiculous. What big changes would happen to make room for the 3rd/4th scenario though? It would just be expansion of rosters which happens naturally and a cap increase. No one goes into a sim league expecting big minutes and if they do thats not a disconnect with sim leagues, thats a disconnect with sports teams as a whole haha; Wait, the people who join who like the 2 line thing are the wrong people now? Okay well there is no point in me recruiting. What you are doing is trying to pass your beliefs of your own opinion off as actual ideas. That's scary because you clearly are in the minority right now given you're the only one who seems to have spoken up about it. I think it's best to take a break from the backwards argument as it's not really building a case for yourself. You bring up some really scary ways of trying to pass your opinion off as facts. You are digging a hole. It was a nice discussion for the most part.

I didn't vote. Because the poll is somewhat flawed. Would it be nice to have ¾ lines? Sure but we'd need the members first to do so. We aren't going to drop teams just to get to that stage

You don't want to understand, that seems to be the disconnect. Here I'll sum it up for you. In Season 31 (before you came here) the VHL expanded from 8 teams to 10 teams. The need for expansion was thought as a 50/50 situation as we did have an influx of members but it might have been way too early to see that progression take shape. In about S41-S42 you came here to a league with 10 teams Recently the VHL disbanded two teams to go from 10 to 8 in total. The current blue team (different from the blue team in S31) acknowledged it wasn't the smartest move to expand in the first place which is also why you saw us go from 10 to 8 teams. With recruiting efforts we can hopefully push the number of active players past 2 lines. But the goal is to get those members first and not go looking for people who are only going to join if it's 4 lines (that is a one trick pony and ends up failing) No signal is needed from the blue team haha. You need to understand this, its not an announcement that will change the amount of lines. It's recruiting efforts that will change the amount of lines. Instead of wasting time announcing our goal (which you seem to be the only one arguing for that sort of lingo) we should be out recruiting members from sim leagues and like-minded places. Why are you having a hard time? In order to have 3rd or 4th lines, we'd need the members would we not? You realize the cap can change depending on the numbers right? I still don't see how you are so confused by all this.

Either your attempt at trolling is just very backwards or you actually aren't understanding here. It's not a 3rd/4th line discussion. That comes naturally with more players and a general unlikeable action of expanding teams. When there are more people on the site, naturally you'd have more positions to fill on each line.

I think the blue team is first on board with allowing recruiting to take its course and see where the chips will fall. Essentially if we get an influx of members we have to expand to more lines anyways. I don't get why that is so hard to comprehend right away haha

Except the blue team admitted that adding teams was not the best move...also the current blue team didn't add those teams, the previous regime did. So it's time to get over that and move forward

I'm glad you brought up same users because same type of users is what we want. Why grab the opinion of people who may not even join either way? To me that's gaining info from people who won't ever have a shot at improving this site regardless of their vote. I can see your point, but I don't think thats the best way to garner an opinion. You gain it from people interested in sim league sports, not people who like taking polls haha

I also enjoyed it and thus I have two players running right now
