Come to Brampton, repay me for taking Svensson away from the Knights so early.
  2. Manhattan, NY -- The off-season’s nearly over and the Americans didn’t make as many moves as defenseman, Golden Jedtsson was expecting, but he’s still satisfied with the moves his general manager made. “We got one of the best goaltenders in the league, Niklaus Mikaelson. We haven’t spoken yet, but I’ll get to meet him with the Americans’ training camp coming up soon. I heard that one of our draftees, Biggu Kyanon was a defenseman and that he’s pretty good, so I’m excited to see him at the training camp. Our general manager has already told me that he has the potential be my defensive partner as well.” However, the whole off-season Jedtsson’s been focused on the Super Cup tournament as he’s been handed a huge role for Team Cowboy. Golden Jedtsson seems to have better his game with his recent player in that tournament as he’s currently second in team scoring with no goals and seven assists. Jedtsson has performed defensively as well with a +2 plus/minus rating and 17 shots blocked, which are all the most on the team. Jedtsson’s seven points ties him for third in the tournament for defenseman.

  9. GOLDEN JEDTSSON INTERVIEW; speaks about off-season, sophomore season, post-season Jedtsson’s one of the best defensive prospects out of the season 43 draft. He’s managed to quietly make his way atop the practice hours rankings and he’s continued to make some noise for the Americans. Earlier this week the defender was featured on a local radio speaking about numerous things. Here’s the session. WFAN660: Hello, Golden. Welcome to the show. It’s nearly the off-season, but right now we’re at game three of the Express/Wranglers finals. There aren’t too many players who watch post-season hockey once their team’s kicked out, are you an exception? Golden Jedtsson during the radio session. Golden Jedtsson: Sometimes, I’m a big hockey fan. If there’s some good hockey then I’ll watch, but there’s a chance that I’m too busy to catch a game or too worn out to watch one. Not to mention that it’s quite annoying watching a team that kicked you out of the post-season. It reminds you too much of the series and then you’re question yourself. I don’t know, it’s too much for me. WFAN660: Well, your team’s one season removed from being a bottom team in the league. However, suddenly this season the Americans rank third in Eastern conference. What are your thoughts on that? Golden Jedtsson: Well, our general manager’s a smart guy. He’s turned this team around and we’re heading in the right direction. He’s a great general manager and I’m proud to play for his team. We’re still young though and we can continue to compete for a while. I’m not expecting our general manager to disrupt any of the team’s future, but I do expect a few moves that could help our team out in the race for the Continental Cup next season. He’s smart, he’ll make the right moves. I’m not sure what he’ll do, but that’s why they pay him to do that and pay me to ply the game. WFAN660: One of the draftees from your draft class, Pablo Escabar has found a lot of success with the Helsinki Titans. He’s in his second professional season while you are only in your first. Can we expect the same from you next season? Golden Jedtsson: That might be a little farfetched. However, Escabar’s a great talent. He’s a leader and has helped the Titans defense despite being one of the weakest if not the weakest defensive groups in the league. I don’t think that my play will be as good as his was offensively, but I think that I can perform better than he did defensively. Escabar’s more of an offensive defenseman more than a defensive defenseman. I don’t think that I performed as well as I could have as the top defenseman for the Americans. However, next season I’m coming out with more energy and I want to perform better for the team. Golden Jedtsson defending forward, Rami Jakobssen on the Calgary Wranglers. WFAN660: You expecting to see any off-season trades? Golden Jedtsson: Last off-season we made quite a few moves. Most of them were in free agency and it paid off. We signed free agent, Niklas Kurri and he was a great addition. I don’t know what this off-season has in store. However, I do know that this off-season I’m going to play a bigger role on a Super Cup team. It’s one of my goals to win a championship in that tournament, so I can complete the quadruple club thing that the media always talks about.
  10. Manhattan, NY -- With the off-season looming there’s potential for numerous trades to be made because it’s the Victory Hockey League -- a league that’s very cyclical. It might be time where most teams have found out that their championship windows are now closing. However, for other teams this might be their chance to claim victory. One being the young New York Americans. The team’s maybe too young and they’re going to need some veterans that can boost the team over the hurdle. With their general manager, Chris Miller there’s not many that doubted if the team could come out of their rebuild. The question on many people’s minds was how long would it take and Chris Miller answered that with all the moves he made. He’s not a general manager that’s satisfied ever, so don’t expect Miller to back down and quit making moves. It’s quite possible that he could be on the hunt for some aging top stars this off-season.
  11. JEDTSSON FINISHES ROOKIE SEASON WITH THE NEW YORK AMERICANS Golden Jedtsson’s rookie season for the Americans has concluded. After playing great seasons in the minors with the Brampton Blades there were some that were expecting a better rookie season from Golden Jedtsson. However, he disappointed a few of the experts who expected the defenseman to excel at the number one defenseman role with the Americans. Jedtsson was disappointed with the numbers he tallied this season as he saw himself as a better two-way defenseman, but there were some issues with his game this season. He wasn’t as efficient of a scorer as many predicted that he would be. His shot from the point wasn’t effective for the team, which the statistics showed with his four goals this season. Jedtsson’s expectations were higher than what he put out this season, however he’s willing to learn from this season and he’s looking forward to the next season. Next season he would like to take less penalties as he finished with the fifth most penalty minutes in the league: 168 penalty minutes, find the net and his teammates more often. It was obvious that Jedtsson wasn’t suited for the number one role with the team finishing the season with a plus/minus rating of minus 22. He was on the ice more for goals against than he was for goals for, which isn’t something you’d like to see from your top defenseman. Jedtsson finished the season with four goals and 35 points. He finished sixth on the team for scoring and the team’s top defenseman in points with three more points than the offensive defenseman, Benjamin Dupont. Jedtsson’s 35 points ranked him ninth in rookie scoring and third for rookie defensemen. Clardy and Samuelsson ranked ahead of him, but the team that those two played on were more experienced than Jedtsson’s. Onto the defensive aspect of Jedtsson’s game, he finished the season with 234 hits that was the second most on the team behind forward, Nicolas Caprivi who finished with 237 hits. Jedtsson did finish with 146 shots blocked, which was fifth most in the league. With a season of experience under his belt he’s looking to change that next season as he’s excited to be a stronger, faster, and smarter player next season with a better team. Jedtsson’s team finished third in the Eastern conference and took the Calgary Wranglers to five games, which is impressive for a team that’s still retooling. Despite being doubted by the whole league the Americans took a game against the Wranglers and made some other ones closer than they should have. Jedtsson’s still looking for more after the series loss and he expects the team to be a contender to come out of the Eastern conference next season. He told the media after the game seven that there weren’t too many people that thought the Americans were going to win that series and they didn’t, but the Americans fought their hardest to come out with a win or more. Sometimes the other team’s too good and you’ve got to give the Wranglers credit, but Jedtsson claims that his team will be able to take down the Wranglers next season after an off-season of training and development.
  12. Brampton, ON -- There have been reports that the Brampton Blade’s general manager, Terrence Fong momentarily. His replacement’s Steven Knight, who's not related to the Knight brothers of the Victory Hockey League who continue to have a say in the league. It’s fair to say that Knight was a bust and never exceeded or even matched the expectations that were placed for him if there even was any. Steven Knight’s the agent of defenseman, Golden Jedtsson. He’s tried to become more known around the hockey world and he thinks that this position will bring a lot of experience and knowledge that he’ll need. Knight has found himself learning more from general manager, Terrence Fong than he has ever in his hockey career. He’s excited to take over the Brampton Blades and has told the media that he won’t stop the winning mentality that Fong has placed in front of him. Knight doesn’t want those to think that he’ll change anything that Fong has put in place and he would like to think that he could continue bringing in the amount of championships that Fong has.
  13. I'm looking forward to next season's run already, thanks for doing this.
  14. That was a close game and it'd be nice to steal a win in this series.
  15. Manhattan, NY -- After missing the post-season last season the Americans made the post-season this season with a 36-32-4 record. It’s not surprising that the Americans find themselves here as the other teams in the conferences were heading into rebuilds. There aren’t many that are expecting the Americans to pull of the unthinkable, which would be making it far in the post-season with the roster that they have. Americans defender, Golden Jedtsson’s expecting the team to do much more and so are the fans. Jedtsson finished the season with four goals and 35 points as the team’s number one defender he was expecting a little more, but he’s still satisfied with his numbers as a rookie. Jedtsson was frustrated with how many times he found himself sitting in the penalty box this season as he tallied 168 penalty minutes this season. However, he continued to be a defensive force as he finished the season with 234 hits and 146 shots blocked.
