When I decide to retire and give up my GM job I really thought that was it for me and the VHL. I was having a rough couple of months personally. The VHL just didn’t seem as important to me anymore and my interest had been fading before a lot of personal stuff happened. But after everything start to return to normal I realized that I wasn't done with the VHL like I thought I was so after thinking it over I decided that I wanted one last real kick at the can.   I do want to thank everyone who played along with my little game; it was fun to get all those PMs telling me to get my ass back here and to stop fucking around. You guys really are the best and its one of the reasons why leaving the VHL will be tough whenever I try to do it again.   Now to the fun stuff! My new player!!!    After receiving 50 PMs I said that the person who sent me the most PMs would get to name my new player  and Toast won that contest sending me 15 PMs. I gave him a couple suggestions and he picked Devin Sundberg from Sweden. He will most likely end up being a lot like Markus Strauss unless I feel like that type of player won’t fit the team I end up going to (Seattle cause we all know it’s going to happen). For which draft he is going into that has yet to be decided. My buddy Coach is deciding that part as he sent me the 50th PM and he is taking his job very seriously, so I won’t know till tomorrow which draft I will be in but both are good with me!   Special thanks to the guys in the Seattle LR you guys have been the best over the last few months and hopefully you guys get that Cup soon.   One last thing, thank you to the BOG for voting me in as a Builder to the VHL HOF, it makes my time spent in Seattle that much greater!   BRING ON SUNDBERG!    

Quebec, QC - May 13th 2014
With the recent loss of Wesley Kellinger and Tuomas Tukio to free agency there will be some tough decisions ahead for Quebec. After a long stretch of success in recent years but also recent playoff failures Quebec may need to rebuild with a prospect pool that looks pretty shallow. Recently drafted Brock Waldron will solidify the goaltending position moving forward as well as signed center Aksel Thomassen. But that still leaves a lot of holes to fill. Look for Quebec to try and move out veterans Doug Clifford, Nicklas Valiq and Tomas Valiq by seasons end. The hope now without a S39 1st is that Quebec can acquire some much needed prospects and picks for the players mentioned above. No matter the outcome fans of the Meute can expect a lengthy rebuild starting when the pucks drops on Season 38. This rebuild now puts both expansion franchises in a rebuilding mode not too long after coming into the league.

As of May 5th, 2014 I (Métis) was hired as a Victory Hockey League Minor mag writer. I was quite surprised by this as my grammar is not very good, but the mag editor believes in me to do a good job with some help with grammar from another mag writer. When I was hired I was quite shocked that I was given a job that you need to write and have good grammar and to be able to write long pieces of the mag. I have loads of experience writing thousand word essays from school and writing mock drafts, rankings, previews etc. Now that I am on the mag I am going to try my best to improve my grammar to where I will not need it to be proofread by another writer. I will be looking to make strides and try and put out the most exciting and most overzealous article I can in each edition. I know many other mag article writers look to do the same.
 
The topics in the VHLM that I will be writing about will vary very much. I have been told that it is basically freelance, but I would like to stick to what I entered into in my interview. I originally was going to write about the three stars of the past week. One being from each position (forward, defense, and goalie), it would be a breakdown of all stats and how they affected the games they played in and how their team did around them. Obviously I wouldn’t do a player more than once a season unless they were outstanding for most of the season. I will not necessarily be choosing the player that has had the best season (except for the first week) but who had the best week totals from every stat to hits, shots blocked, rise in save percentage etc.
 
For this week I am going to do a little preview of what I am going to be doing, I will be doing the three stars in the VHLM finals. Kimmo Salo was a big part of getting the Rush to the finals and he certainly showed up in the finals. In only 6 games Salo let in a measly 9 goals for a 1.55 goals against average, he played stellar in the finals where his team needed him. Salo would finish the tournament with a 1.94 goals against average. In the finals Salo posted 2 huge shutouts including the game 6 win over the Royals that won the Founder's Cup and in the huge game 4 were the Rush would take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Royals. At forward it was very close as the Rush had two studs in Konstantin Azhishchenkov and Johan Hallstrom. Konstantin posted 6 points in the finals including the clutch overtime goal in game one. Hallstrom however one upped Konstantin having 7 points, most being assists, but timely assists. His 7th assist in the playoffs came in a clutch game 6 where Hallstrom's assists gave the Rush the two goal lead.
 
That is a little snipet of what I am going to be doing in future mag articles. I will be going into much more detail and really showing off why these players were the “stars” of the week. The VHLM season is looking very strong coming into the draft so there will be an extreme amount of players to cover and to talk about.
