Leading the league in assists is notoriously a difficult feat to repeat. I remember reading a Media Spot just when I joined in S10 about the "Mikita Trophy curse" as the Beketov was then known, and how hard it was to defend the trophy. That's changed since but not by much - there have only been 4 back-to-back winners of the award, including Tate and the two players to have won the Beketov thrice - Hall of Fame defencemen Conner Low and Ay Ay Ron. Lead the league in assists again and Tate will be in very good company indeed. 2. TRUE/FALSE - If Seattle makes the Continental Cup finals, Rayz Funk will have matched the career playoff wins record. He was on 47 wins after the Bears beat D.C. and on the safe assumption he would have started all of the games in the conference finals, Funk was indeed on course to match Hans Wingate's record haul of 51 by series end. That's what happened in a dramatic 7-game series, featuring many overtimes, a 3-1 series comeback by Seattle, and one of the finest goaltending duels of all time, with Jacques Lafontaine on the losing end coming out with the higher save percentage.
