(Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @animal74) Yeah I purposefully picked 2 questions where the answer was Scotty Campbell for both. Sometimes just gotta reinforce the great man's uhhh greatness. He wasn't the only skater to be crowned playoff MVP twice, but the only one to do it in back-to-back seasons (S4 and S5 Seattle, aka peak Scottyness). Due to S36 being counted twice, the hat-tricks record is erroneously attributed to Ethan Osborne and Kameron Taylor who in my wisdom I did not include on the list of options. Campbell holds the record with 11 (again, in S5) - no one else has hit double digits since Mike Szatkowski in S8. 1. This season for the first time all 4 VHL conference finalists are expansion teams, with Moscow playing Malmo and Prague in previous seasons as well. How many times did the original expansion franchises, Cologne and Quebec, meet in the playoffs? As we approach the conclusion of (or perhaps at the time of posting have concluded) the second ever all-expansion team final, what better time to hark back to the only time Cologne and Quebec met up, back in S42. Both made somewhat underdog runs to the finals, Quebec had been there before and won, while for Cologne it was a first ever finals appearance in their twelfth season. The Express also got their first cup, defeating Quebec and then made the next two finals too - despite being heavy favourites to win NA in S43 and S44, Quebec contrived to miss out on both chances of a rematch with Cologne. Then Cologne only made one more final (S49 against Toronto) and were contracted in S57. Quebec has had plenty of success since, including since they moved to Vancouver but therefore only met Cologne once in their history. TRUE/FALSE: Ottawa is the only city to have had a VHLM franchise throughout the league's entire history. Ottawa is indeed the only team that has made it through 74 seasons relatively unscathed, with the exception of a name change about halfway through.
