  1. 94. Moscow because the Meta eliminated us. Get some revenge for us! 95. Unfortuantely, probably Vancouver. They found a system that overpowers teams and it has worked for them so far. 96. Young team and just an overall good season. Players stepped up, and we fairly solid defensively. Showed a lot of promise. Let's have a better one this season. 97. It was an great season. I was lucky to be able to play beside Taro and Justin, who just lit it up. Hopefully I can prove that I can stand on my own. 98. Check out the FA market and sign some guys. We have a young core that is getting better and better but having one or two veterans would help like how Lose and Tsujimoto helped elevate us. 99. Great hires, it will be interesting to see how they run things for those two teams.
  2. SEATTLE - Sigard is determined to be better. After getting a taste of what could be in the playoffs, he and the rest of the Bears have been hungering for more. Losing Lose, Tsujimoto, and UnGuri will definitely hurt the team as they will lose major veteran pieces. Zeedayno Chara and Sigard himself will be the only returning members of the Bears that were drafted earlier than Season 80. While there is always free agency, Sigard feels a sense of responsibility for the upcoming season. “I proved that I could score as well as hit last season. Great. I need to be able to do that every season now. The organization has a lot of trust in me. Drafting me in the first round, giving me the alternate captainship, and more. I’m set on showing them they made the right choice.” Sigard said in a Zoom interview. “We’re young, hungry, and ready to kick some ass this season. The glory days for the Bears are just getting started.” We all hope that Sigard is right.

  4. 1. What do you think is the best jersey colour combination of all time? 2. Speaking of jerseys, do you prefer the captaincy and alternate captaincy letters on the left side or the right side? 3. Still on the topic of jerseys, would you rather see nameplates on the bottom of jerseys or normal jerseys riddled with ads? 4. Because I love jerseys so much, what do you think the most creative NHL jersey was? (doesn't have to be good, just creative) 5. What are some of your player's superstitions? 6. Holes in hockey sticks; yay or nay?
  5. Review: Pretty snazzy and jazzy! Love the glam and glitz and the overall showcasing of the swagger that Trunov has, both on the ice as a player and off the ice in his fancy suit! The fancy font is great and adds to that jazz and spice the graphic brings to the table and this just seems to be an overall fun graphic! My only real gripes would be that it's too dark to really make out anything and sort of just makes everything hard to see. Trunov is looking snazzy and the world should be able to see how he glows with charisma! The other thing is that there is too much red showing on the right render. Sorta like ketchup. Other than that, this is pretty neat! 7/10
  6. Review: I feel you, first of all. The first graphic back after a break is very rough and can be quite surprising, haha! Regardless, I thought this was a pretty solid graphic. The font choice was excellent and the player render looks fairly clean in terms of background removal. The jersey swap had effort and thought put into it and I thought the position of the player render was good. Font choice was solid too, albeit the joking nature of the text at the bottom probably helped it. My only real feedback is that the logo swaps while serviceable look pretty rough. The Legion logo's blue does not match the blue of the jersey in the render. Also, I would have loved to see more be done with the render. Overall, fairly solid! 6/10
  7. SEATTLE - Being eliminated sucks. After a great series against the Toronto Legion in the wild card round, the Bears found themselves being edged ever so slightly by the Wolves until the final game. They fought hard against the favourites to win and did get a game but the playoff hopes of the Bears ended at the hands of Vancouver. It was a tough and bitter loss, although not unexpected. The Bears were a hard fighting and hard working team but were unable to beat the likes of Sales and other stars on the Wolves. “It really hurt. Really did. This team was ready to go all the way. But we lost the first few games and they finished us after a solid win.” Sigard Petrenko commented in a press conference after they were eliminated. “We had the tools and we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, so did the Wolves. We all played our hardest but we came up short. I feel bad for the vets; ‘specially Lose and Tsuji[moto]. We’re sorry we couldn’t get you one. But I still feel confident this group will kick ass in the future.” With the loss of Taro and Justin, the Bears will have to find players to step up to the plate. But that will be worried about later. For now, the Bears are watching from the sidelines and thinking about the what-ifs.

  9. 74. What are your thoughts on the new anti-meta build stuff? I personally think it's great. Gives people to be more creative and forces them to be more thoughtful about their builds other than simply just following what everyone else does. Hopefully it adds some diversity to the types of players within the league. 78. Seems theme week is a revolving door of the same old same.. create your own theme week the league could use! I think a cool Theme Week would be different fake brands that could sponsor the league. Except, we don't do Sponsor's Shield. It was fun having fake brands; SS just kinda blew imo. 79. What are your thoughts and emotions on your players play this season? Good to see, doesn't matter if it doesn't help the team. Team success comes over all and also, I need to see my player be consistent with this season after season for me to be satisfied. 80. A hot air balloon company wants Bears tough man Vinny Detroit to design a hot air balloon for them... what's in going to look like? If it's not a huge flying boot, I don't know what would work. Don't even know why I associate Vinny with a flying boot but it'd really fit them. Though I guess another hot air balloon design that would work would be a giant Bear. This man encapsulates the team and really has the spirit of the bear in terms of the team and the animal. 81. Hogan was recently banned from Wal-Mart. What was he doing? I still have no idea how he got that monkey to aim at shoppers with a Nerf gun. 82. You could pick anywhere in the world to travel and visit tomorrow for X amount of days.. where you going and why? The European Conference champ's arena for 7 days. No need to explain why. To win the cup. Hopefully though, this won't just be a PC hypothetical.
  10. Review: Hella solid graphic and I think it looks absolutely great! The logo swap is clean and I really like how it pretty much fits the angle that the player render is at. Love to see the use of the same shades of the one colour in a way that makes each shade just feel individual. The shapes in the background are great and act as a unique spotlight on the render. I absolutely love how cool maroon and the different reds you use help separate the goalie render from the background. My only real complaints are the text is sort of random feeling and I wish the render was bigger. Other than that, this is sick! 8.5/10
  11. Review: My goodness! So much to love about this graphic! First of all, I love the "lens flare" or whatever it's called on the image. Really cool idea to use the orange for the player and to have the background blue as well as other supporting elements as blue. Love the use of those complimentary colours and it just makes the orange on the Riga player render pop out that much more. The jersey swap looks amazing and the laser circle helps make it the central focus. The font choice and placement is excellent and is just an overall really fun graphic. My only complaint would be that I personally don't like how the A cuts out but other than that, this is masterful! 9/10
  12. SEATTLE - At the end of the regular season, Seattle was fourth in their conference and proved their mettle as they fought from a rough start to a wild card spot. They would be going against the Toronto Legion in a best of 5 match. “Yeah, I was glad to see we had made the playoffs. We put everything into this season and we are here to win.” Sigard Petrenko said before the first game of the wild card series. “We’re going to have to fight hard and outwork the team. It’s always about what we can do next shift.” Seattle would proceed to take 4 games to get the 3 wins that they needed and ousted the Toronto Legion. One of these games included a quite gutsy hat trick from Sigard Petrenko. To make things sweeter, that hat trick was also his first in the Victory Hockey League. “Yeah, that hat trick was great. Though, what really matters is that we got the win.” He said. No time to look back on that series or to celebrate as they will be going up against the Vancouver Wolves. The “Meta” as they are “affectionately” called in the locker room will prove to be a challenge. People are wondering how the Seattle Bears are going to try to win. To that, Sigard had a simple response. “Score goals and make sure they don’t score more.”

  14. Review: Love the neon lights and they interact with the person in the photo so well. It really looks natural how the light adds a glow to the person's face as if the light is really physically there. The neon text also looks really cool overall and stands out from the gorgeous background of the city in the night. I have never considered how good green and blue looks in a piece with the night displayed like this. The snow particles are well incorporated and are a neat little detail. There is so much I like about this and I think this is one of my favourite pieces on the site. I guess my only complaint is that I wish the player render was a bit larger; to me I personally find it odd that it is small and hushed away at a corner. 9/10
  15. Review: This is one pretty smooth graphic! So much to love about it. I love the blurry players in the background; they don't distract from the main render in the middle. The line effects across the middle really add to the background and keep it from looking too plain. The font choice is also great and having the silhouette on the text also really stood out to me. Green being the only prominent colour is great. It really contrasts with the colourlessness of the rest of the piece without looking too bright or jarring. So much to compliment; the graphic looks so complete and cohesive. My only complaint is the Dallas Stars shoulder patches. That's about it. 8/10
  16. 1. If you could award ANY city in the world a VHL team, which city would get it and what would you call it? 2. Which do you prefer watching, college hockey or CHL hockey? 3. Thoughts on Hybrid Attributes? What do you think is the strategy with them?
  17. 67. What are your thoughts on the team trading for Berocka? The more the merrier, eh? Good to have a back up for Em Em Flex that isn't just a bot goalie. I found that helped when I had Lafontaine and Askarov backed up for me. That way you're not leaving the net in the hands of the bots. And in case our robot overlords stumble across this and see me trash talking their tending skills, sorry. 68. Who are some of of your favorite VHL members? Jonathan Ori @ROOKIE745is still one of my favourite members and probably will be. Lafontaine and Hextall will always be one of the highlights of my time in the VHL. @DarkSpyrowas also a great rival with... Spyro. Seriously though, we dominated the VHL Canadian goaltending scene and it will still be one of my favourite times in the VHL. 69. Who will place higher - LA Stars or Vancouver Meta? Why? Vancouver Meta. Basing this on goal differential and just the fact that they have had the time to form the meta and find out how to use it to the best of its ability and now they can use this time to suit certain team matchups.
  18. SEATTLE - Nearing the end of the season, Sigard Petrenko has proven that his decision to jump ship to the Victory Hockey League early was not the wrong one. Two decent seasons to start off his career in the big leagues built up to a season filled with career records being broken. From having 22 goals in his first season to being on the verge of breaking 30, as well as breaking the 80 point barrier for the first time with 83 points, Sigard has proven that he can somewhat contribute on offense. His +52 plus-minus and his 42 shot blocks are also career highs. Though, something that also probably helped was being placed on the top line for a majority of the season, playing alongside the slick Taro Tsujimoto. Vinny Detroit and Justin Lose were the wingers he played with, showing chemistry with both. While it can be questioned whether playing with these high profile players padded his stats, Sigard is simply happy that his work is paying off. “3 games left in the season and I’m just happy that I’ve been able to score, man.” He said in an interview. I’m glad that the organisation put so much trust in me and I’m glad that I’ve been able to somewhat repay it. Of course, with Taro and Lose retiring, I have to prove my ability to stand on my own. That’s the next step for me I think, being able to get those totals consistently. I just need to prove that I didn’t luck my way into those stats.”

  20. 1. What are your goals here in the VHL? A championship? Maybe a few individual awards? 2. What would say you bring to teams? Scoring? Checking? High awareness play? Defensive masterminding? Shot blocking? Etc. 3. Who would you say you look up to in terms of hockey heroes? NHL, VHL, SHL, CHL, AHL- basically any league you may want. 4. Is that player someone that you are modelling your player after? If not, who is? 5. Would you rather be a player on a star-studded team but barely get any playing time or would you rather be on an underperforming team but getting first line minutes? 6. If you could choose between a penalty shot or a power play, which would you choose?
  21. Review: This is great! I love the background, looks so beautiful and it just really makes this piece seem more majestic. Logo swaps were pretty okay and the players are balanced well in terms of where they are (composition). I personally think the cuts were serviceable, may have helped to have higher resolution pictures of players. The jerseys and the manipulation of the saturation in order for it to match the Los Angeles Stars colours is a bit meh for me, the left two look too purplish-grey to match the Stars logo. The right one looks great in terms of colours. I thought the entire colour scheme as a whole was excellent and definitely interesting; space vibes all around. Last piece of feedback would be the text looks great for the first two but having the third one be that comparatively small really distracts me. Pretty neat, 7/10!
  22. Review: I found it hard for me to make a graphic for a whole team but I think this was handled pretty solidly considering the Theme Week. Love seeing that you went for a one team approach. Logo swaps look solid and can be pretty convincing. There was effort put into making the logos fit with the photo you chose and logos look real nice with the jerseys. I also love how you put the effort of adding a filter to it. Photo choice was great and the text was well organized, not blocking the players. My only real pieces of feedback is I guess "do more". I would love to see differing backgrounds or maybe even effects. And secondly, the logos look kind of plastered on the jersey. Not sure how to fix that myself but yeah, they look a lot smoother than the players wearing them. Makes it look plastered on. Other than that though, pretty sweet! 7/10
  23. SEATTLE - After reflecting and saying he needed to be better at the beginning of the season, Sigard finally hit the 20 goal mark in a single season. The winger has been playing for 3 Victory Hockey League seasons, this one being his third, but could not seem to put up 20+ goals in a single season like he could in the minors. However, being paired with Taro Tsujimoto as well as Vinny Detroit or Justin Lose, he has seen career highs in terms of his offensive stats. He is well past his former career best of 47 points in a season. Breaking the 60 point mark, Sigard seems to be happy but not yet completely satisfied with this mark. “I really won the lottery being able to play with Tsujimoto. I mean, I love playing with all the guys on the team but playing with a seasoned veteran like Tsujimoto consistently has changed the game for me. I’m actually potting goals and contributing on the offensive end, which is a welcome change.” He said in a post conference after hitting the 20 goal mark this season. “Of course, I’m proud of hitting my career best but in a league as competitive as the VHL, I gotta keep trying to get better, don’t I?”
  24. Haha, I expected Cast to be mentioned in quite a few. I was lucky enough be his teammate with Ryuu Crimson back in the early S60s. Def a great pickup for dream teams
  25. Sigard Petrenko stands with Mikhail's sentiment. "Ukraine did nothing wrong. People are dying for no plausible reason. It is because of one ill-fitted leader that this is happening. There is no point, no winner, and no justice in war. This bullshit has to stop." We are watching a great injustice unfold before our eyes and we need to come together and do something- anything- to show our support for Ukraine. I cannot contribute money electronically but I will definitely see if I can donate cash to help the Ukrainian people. This is not a war; this is an uncalled for slaughter with Ukrainians trying to defend themselves.
