  1. Saskatoon-The Victory Hockey League finally released the Victory Hockey League Draft Rankings and Ryuu Crimson was ranked at number 18, just behind fellow linemate Dylan Nyugen. "I find it quite funny that my Draft Pick Number is the same number as my Jersey Number, 18." Last Sunday, the Victory Hockey League released the VHL Draft Ranking, in which Ryuu Crimson was pick 18, Defensemen Dylan Nyugen was 17, and Kevin Weekes, former Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils goalie, was number 21. "Honestly, I kinda expected this considering we just joined pretty recently. I really didn't expect us to rocket through the charts, so I guess these numbers make sense." Ryuu Crimson has some hopes about what team he will be on if he makes it to the VHL. "If I make the Big Leagues, I really hope that I'm on Calgary. I've watched them and lived there most of my life, so it would be great to go back and play for my hometown." Ryuu Crimson was the second highest Saskatoon player on the list. "Strangely it didn't list Jordie (Jordan Tonn) and some other players. It's weird. I really hope they are on there and that is fixed soon. Unless there's a legitimate reason I don't know about." The Left Wing from Saskatoon also has some hopes when it comes to his teammates. "I really hope I wind up with Dylan as my defensemen and Weekes as a goalie. Dylan is great two-way defensemen and will get more goals than me, Kevin is a great goalie and will be a great fit in the Victory Hockey League. Also Kevin, being a veteran NHL player could teach some of the rookie goalies stuff. If I could play with Sergei Komarov or any of the Louths, that would be cool too." When asked about if he thinks he will make the Big Leagues, he responded, "I really don't know. I would like too, but cmon, let's be realistic. With players like Leph Twinger, Jordan Tonn, Billy Von Goon, Billy Pilgrim, Sergei Kovalev, there is no way I'm gonna make it before them. I would consider myself lucky if I even made it this season. I won't mind that much if I don't, considering I just got here and I'm a first year rookie." Crimson says he would be glad to stay for a few more seasons. "Yeah sure, I would be fine with a few years in the Minors. It's not like I'll become a prodigy overnight. It will take strength, training, effort, but also time. That's the advice I have for some people. The time will come when you are ready. Don't think that you will become the very best overnight." Ryuu concluded saying, "I'm proud of myself. I made it into the VHLM, and I got into the draft rankings. That's pretty good considering the short time I've been here. I could have down better, you know, focused a bit more on shooting and handling back in Juniors and before the VHLM but what's done is done. I'm excited to see what the future has in store for me. Hopefully not more egg rolls though."
  2. If the VHLM needs Balti-MORE teams then they could always make a team for Baltimore. Hahahahaha! No seriously please.

Who knows if the VHLM expands there could be a new team located there ;)

  3. Why don't both teams be in New York because you can't have a sports league without 2 NY Teams! (If you don't get it, New York has 2 NHL Teams and 2 MLB Teams.) Or we could have one of them be the Kansas City Giants cause everything is bigger in Texas! Or even better, I saw Dtayl's response and I agree: BALTIMORE! BALTIMORE!
  4. Desired Text/Sub Text: Just the Player Name Color Scheme: Red and White Anything Else: The Saskatoon Wild Logo (The VHLM one, not the real life one) Thanks @Pandar
  5. Saskatoon-Ryuu Crimson was invited to join Dylan Nyugen's camp and he accepts the deal. Dylan Nyugen's camp is a hockey camp where players like Dylan Nyugen and Ryuu Crimson teach the next generation of players. (Hopefully Saskatoon players.) "It's gonna be a fun time I bet. The experience will be awesome. I hope these kids can learn and grow with our camp as a tool. It would have been nice to have some VHL players like Sergei Komarov but then again they are probably busy and don't have the time." Ryuu fully supports the camp and hopes to be useful. "I mean, I'm some washed up Left Wing who so happened to be chosen by the Wild. It's not like I'm a superstar or a prodigy. I'm only a minor after all!" When asked about what he is most excited for, he replied, "Seeing all of these players grow up and become the next generation. Nothing is more cooler than knowing you helped to raise up the next Gretzky, or the next Crosby, and nothing is more cooler than watching them grow and playing in the Big Leagues." Ryuu Crimson's brother also joined the camp, hoping to improve. "He's at a good age, this camp will sure help him. It's also cool because my bro gets to meet some of my teammates and kind of see what it's like to be in the VHLM." He also fully supports the camp because he thinks every kid, rich or poor, should have a chance to learn, have a chance to play hockey. "Everyone deserves to play. Despite our differences, our money, our paycheques, our religion, colour or even number of pimples, everyone deserves to have a chance." Ryuu has some advice for the campers, "Try your best, be your best, and never not not not be your best, on and off the ice. Never not fear the egg rolls, seize your moment, have fun and for the love of God do not use the number 69." The camp is accepting 200 kids and it is first come, first serve, so reserve your spots quick. To contact Dylan Nyugen, message him at @Dtayl

  8. Early Life and Little Leagues Ryuu Crimson was born on June 21, 2000. His name, Ryuu, meant dragon and he was born in the Peter Lougheed Hospital. His mother, Sarah, was a registered nurse who worked for AgeCare, and his father, Kasashi, was a hockey player playing abroad in his home country Japan. His parents moved to Southwest Calgary and there Ryuu Crimson was born. His father was a role model to Ryuu and he wanted to be a hockey player just like his dad. He would watch the Calgary Flames and was a big fan of the Calgary Flames Captain Jarome Iginla, he still has his Jarome Iginla Card and his Jersey hanging up in his room right now. It wasn't hard for him to convince his mother to let him play, because his mom already knew what life was like with a hockey player and was happy to see her son have his dad as a role model. Ryuu Crimson and his dad would go to the ice rink and practice stickhandling, shooting and the basics but his dad would always help him practice fighting, hitting and his checks. When Crimson was 5, his dad went abroad to play in Japan and would always send his dear son videos and pictures of his games. Ryuu Crimson admired Flames' Captain Jarome Iginla and would watch his games to try to copy him. What was strange was that he wanted to be a Left Wing, while Jarome Iginla was a Right Wing. Ryuu Crimson was ready to be a hockey star. Ryuu joined a hockey team in his local ice rink when he was 10 and he was on fire. He got at least one point every game and his he had an ironman streak of 69 (hehe) games. He was one of their star forwards and almost started an actual fight. He racked up a total of 28 goals by the end of the season. When this kid was on the ice, all you could hear were goal horns. He had the most assists in the league and the most collective points in team history. He continued to grow, scoring goals and scoring penalty minutes. Then, when he was 13, he joined the CBHA Wranglers and won a championship. He continued to play and loved the game. High School Life Ryuu Crimson played with the Junior A Team, the Calgary Wranglers. He played with them for a season, getting 29 goals and 39 assists, before a tragic Accident happened. On October 21, 2016, while coming home from a game, Crimson and fellow teammate Robert King were in an accident involving 5 cars. A drunk driver hit their car on Robert's side on the highway, and then a pile-up happened. Both exited the car. Crimson made it safely out, while Robert King got buried under the wreck, killing him. Ryuu had injuries and required surgery, and didn't play for the rest of the season as a result. Once he recovered, he joined the Swift Current Broncos for half of the season but due to his injuries, he played with the Nipawin Hawks for the second half. He came back with the Swift Current Broncos and scored 10 goals and 25 assists. As you can see that is a drastic change. The Swift Current Broncos notice that change and brought him down from the first line. In his last season with them, he had a drastically less amount of playing time, and he thought about hanging the skates. The Light Called the VHLM Ryuu Crimson was kind of depressed due to nobody wanting him on their team and because of the lack of playing time. He was gonna retire and go to college to become a programmer until he got an email. He read it and was overjoyed. The Saskatoon Wild wanted him. He had heard about and watched the VHL, watching the Wranglers at the 'Dome and admiring Americans player Sergei Komarov, but he gave up hope of going there and didn't know about the Victory Hockey League Minors. So Ryuu Crimson was overjoyed and he packed his bags and went to Saskatoon, after visiting his family in Calgary and celebrating the news. His dad even came after he heard, and they had a family hockey game for fun. His sister, Tsui Crimson, joined the Calgary Inferno in the CWHL and his younger brother, 10 years old, wore the number 12 for the CBHL Wranglers. Tsui Crimson, Tsubasa Crimson, Ryuu Crimson and the father, Kasashi Crimson, are all Left Wings. Tired of being a sitting duck, Crimson trained right away and tried his best. He did skating drills. Legends say that at night at the pond, all you could hear were the sounds of pucks hitting crossbars, skating, and even the rare sound of shouting and celebrations. Crimson had to apologize to a lot of locals for disturbing the peace. He was happy when he was told that he was gonna be top line. The day came when he got his First Goal in 2 seasons. After struggling with shooting Ryuu Crimson got the goal in game 81 of the Victory Hockey League's 61st season. The goal was against the Las Vegas Aces, in which he got his second point and his first goal in the VHLM. It was the first goal the Wild made that game. The crowd went Wild (yes pun intended). After the game, still wondering if this was a dream, he called his dad on FaceTime who told him how proud he was of his son. And as if it was fate, Kisashi Crimson, the father, also got the first goal in his league. He will never forget hearing the goal horn and the announcement of his name. Soon, Ryuu Crimson would get his second goal of his Victory Hockey League Minor career, not as exciting as the first but still something to be proud of. Despite the challenges, mistakes, sadness, disappointment, loss, and events in his life, he embraces his past like an old friend. He wants to be the best player he can be, and loves hockey. In the VHLM, he wouldn't want to play for any other team other than the Saskatoon Wild. How should I know? Well, it would be sad if I didn't know my own story.
  9. Ryuu Crimson on his first goal and more SASKATOON-Ryuu Crimson scored his first goal against the Las Vegas Aces, which was Game 81 of the 61st season. It was the first goal by the Saskatoon Wild that game. "I felt great, and it was so awesome to hear the goal horn and to hear my name being announced. The croud went well....wild!" This was his first goal in the VHLM and his second point in the VHLM. He is training double time to score goals. "I honestly did not expect that goal to get in, I thought it was gonna be saved like every other shot." The Left-Winger isn't known for scoring goals, and this could very well be one of his most important moments in his career yet. "Now that I know that I can do it, I'm gonna work on it as hard as I can." He also witnessed fellow linemate Dylan Nyugen get goals, to which he reacted, "He's doing great and is doing better than ever. He is a good two way defensemen and definitely an All-Star. Kevin is also doing well, despite the losses he is really good between the pipes." This is also a pretty interesting story about him, the story is about why he wears number 18. "I had a teammate named Robert King, who was my best friend and the most awesome player ever. It was like he danced with the puck. We were awesome friends, talking to each other all the time, practicing, and just hanging out." Notice the use of was and were. That begs the question what happened. "One night we were driving home from a game and we were hit by a drunk driver. It hit his side pretty badly. Glass cut him everyone and then mayhem just happened. Since we were on a highway, more cars piled up and we were thrown everywhere. We managed to get out, but Robert was trapped under the car, being squished to death. They got him out, brought him to the hospital, but it was too late. I remember feeling all life drain from me as they announced his death. The driver was arrested and we had the funeral. He was one of the many casualties that night." And Ryuu continued, "So we retired his number, 18, in honour of him. When I played for another team, I decided to take the number 18 instead of 12, which I usually used." After that tragic accident, Ryuu didn't play 1 season due to injuries, but then joined the Broncos donning the number of King, 18. "I'm really thankful I am alive. After the whole ordeal, I made a promise to work hard as if it was my last day." Ryuu said. "Because for all you know, it really could be."
  10. Woohoo! Got two goals this week!

  11. Dude, you were so drunk that night, I was lucky that I was the designated driver because I would have been worse!
  12. Crimson on being teammates with Nyugen SASKATOON-Ryuu Crimson has been teammates with Dylan Nyugen for quite a while now, and to Ryuu, Dylan is the ideal defensemen. "I mean cmon, he scores more goals than me, his passing is just downright awesome, his assist count js insane right now, who wouldn't call him the ideal defensemen?" Dylan has scored 4 goals, and I'm afraid to right the assists, fearing that if I end up writing it now, he would get more later and then everyone will hate me. Crimson also understands that Nyugen is a big story for Baltimore hockey. "I went on twitter and my feed exploded with Baltimore Hockey, Dylan Nyugen this, Dylan Nyugen that, and honestly, he deserves it. He really does, he grew up in a town where hockey was dying, chose the dying sport, became a pro and was the hero of a dying community, Baltimore should be rejoicing! Make Dylan Nyugen Day a city holiday or something! My mom went to visit some family and Baltimore, and she saw her nephew wearing a Nyugen jersey." Ryuu also says that he expects to see more of this kind of attention being brought to Nyugen. "He could be a celebrity, the next Gretzky! (Despite Gretzky not being a Defencemen) He probably scored a Hat Trick the day he was born! He will become a legend."
  13. Thanks for the compliment! But the next great one is probably gonna be Nguyen not me
  14. Ryuu talks about first shifts SASKATOON-Left Wing Ryuu Crimson has been with the Wild for a while now. We interviewed him about his first moments and his games so far. "I only have 1 assist and 1 hit so far, not impressive but it will do for now." He hasn't had anything else but he is still trying his best. His teammate, Dylan Nyugen, has 2 goals so far, and doesn't look like he is stopping anytime soon. "Dylan is a good teammate, we talked in between games and he's great on and off the ice. Probably gonna make the VHL before I even get one goal. He is a great 2 way player, and deserves some attention." Ryuu is also getting more ice time and his satisfied so far. "Hey, I'm having more ice time, I just feel so bad my team has to basically carry me." He has had a few shots but hasn't gotten the puck in the net so far. "I really need to work on shooting, puck handling and passing, I suck at those right now." He was asked how the atmosphere was, and he replied, "This is Canada, you really have to ask that? It's freaking crazy here. Saskatoon is like the VHLM Nashville Preds. They have these crazy chants like, 'I've seen better saves from a Walmart Coupon' and until the end of the game they refer to the goalie as a Walmart Coupon and it's hilarious. Another time I heard someone shout, 'I've seen a non-alcoholic take more shots than the Aces!' I almost died." And when asked about the other players Ryuu simply said, "Dylan is a great guy, Harri is a great goalie, Lefty just got his first win, and I really look up to Mr. Komarov. He is a great person and I respect him a hella lot. He's not a player but just wanted to put that out there. Jordan is great and is amazing, and our team is awesome." The Left Winger is enjoying the VHLM, and is enjoying the ride. "I never would have thought that the last Founders Cup Champions would choose me. Saskatoon is awesome and the fans are just great." Ryuu is also well known in Saskatoon, as he played for Swift Current and collected a whopping 200 penalty minutes in the span of 10 games, the only games he played there. He has been suspended 5 times. But he says he's gonna try to change that. "Now that I'm finally here, I need to focus on playing the game and winning. I will still fight but it won't be my main focus. I'm in the VHLM now and I gotta act like it." Ryuu sat aside and watched Harri, Dylan, and other people get interviewed, and even saw Sergei Komarov. And that is when he heard that he might retire. When asked how he felt he said, "Kind of sad to me, he is a great player and one of the most admirable players I have seen. I hope he enjoys his retirement if he does end up retiring." We also asked him what his favourite VHL team was and he responded immediately saying, "Hands down, Calgary." The final question was if he was enjoying the VHLM and his reply was, "In the wise words of Vyacheslav Smirmov, 'Oh f*** yeah.'".
  15. Basic Information Name: Ryuu Crimson Position: Left Wing Age: 18 Height: 68 in. Weight: 165 pounds Hometown: Calgary, AB Ryuu Crimson is a formidable left wing from Calgary. He formerly played for the Nipawin Hawks, Swift Current Broncos, Calgary Mustangs. This report was a bit hard due to lack of evidence and playing time, (only 120 minutes for a whole season, that has gotta suck.) He has a bit of an identity crisis because he can’t choose between Calgary and Saskatoon as his hometown, but we decided to choose Calgary. Strengths: Crimson is pretty strong. He can bench press about 260 pounds. But it’s not about how much he can lift, it’s about how he can apply his strength. He can hit pretty hard. His hits have actually injured some players to the point of them actually needing surgery. He makes smart moves with his hits, like using his fast skating ability as velocity to hit his opponents. Whenever an opponent is on the boards, he can perfectly time the skating to hit the opponent directly. We asked him about how he can time the hits perfectly he says that he wanted to be a physical player due to there being lack of that type of player. Also, like we mentioned earlier he can skate pretty fast. He can do one lap around the rink in around 14.3 seconds. He can also use the skating to surprise his opponents by suddenly cutting in front of them. He can change zones in a second and he can also turn on a dime. Going from backwards to forwards in an instant. He can also dodge hits really well, once using a triple axel to dodge a stick he was gonna run into. He can skate backwards faster than most players can do forwards and it’s like he has eyes on the back of his head, he barely has to look back when skating backwards. He is a pretty good fighter, he is very strong and he has made 3 players bleed, and has his jersey is basically blood red due to all of the blood caused from the fighting. His fights seem to ramp up the audience and he has more or less “won” all his fights. He has a total of 20 penalty minutes from roughing alone. Keep in mind this was all in 120 minutes. Weaknesses: Crimson is not a good scorer. He has only had one assist in his career so far. He has strong shots but he can’t seem to get the pucks in. Despite his strength he cannot simply get one goal in. Like Zip, Zero, Nada. No goals. He has been working hard on shooting though, but we’ll see if that will change. He is not a good passer in general as well. He can pass but he screws up sometimes and accidentally gives it to his opponent or misses his teammate’s stick. He is good at receiving passes. But keep in mind that he has really only had 4 games of experience that we watched, and we recommend that you help him work on his passing the most. He is not the best stick handler and he usually depends on his teammates to advance through the zones but he is working on it. He usually gives it to his Center or Right Winger to bring it up. He is not phenomenal but also not that bad, just don’t count on him to bring it to the offensive zone and to score. Conclusion: Ryuu Crimson will be a good asset to a team. He has the potential of getting better and becoming a really good player. He won’t be your team’s goal-scorer or your team’s Johnny Hockey but he will be a good person to help your team regain control of the puck and he will be capable of getting dirty.
  16. Oh btw this is supposed to be media spot so idk, do I need to repost or is it fine? @Gooningitup
  17. Ryuu Crimson excited for an opportunity CALGARY-Recently, the Saskatoon Wild reached out to Ryuu Crimson and other players to join. "They gave me a million dollar contract, and top line." The Left-Winger said, explaining why he chose them. "Sure, there could be better teams but they promised something I haven't had in a long time, more playing time." The Left-Winger has a history with the city of Saskatoon, living there for a couple of years before moving back to Calgary due to family emergancies. "The City of Saskatoon is a great place. The people there are very encouraging and friendly, and now that I'm going back, I'm excited to see how it's changed, and to see my friends again." Tomorrow, he will take the six hour drive to Saskatoon. He had recently bought a house there, and is looking forward to reunite with his friends and former teammates. "I actually played here in Saskatoon but for a small high school league, and some of my friends have been drafted in the Victory Hockey League way before me. I also can't wait to see the new members of my old team and see how much they've grown." His former coach, when asked about his reaction replied, "I'm proud of good ol' number 18, he worked hard and deserves to celebrate. As soon as he gets to Saskatoon, the whole team is gonna party, but I'll make sure this time he doesn't eat those darn eggrolls." When the Calgary Sun asked Ryuu what he was looking forward to, he shrugged and simply said, "I'm not looking to win Championships or looking for titles, money or just plain fame, I'm simply excited to be with this organization and excited about the great opportunity." He was also asked about going against Calgary, which he replied, "Well, I've been cheering for Calgary all my life, and even when I was in Saskatoon, I cheered for all things Calgary, so it's gonna be weird seeing their jerseys during the games, and I really hope I don't accidentally join them and score an own goal. We asked him what he thought he was gonna bring to the table, and he shrugged and answered, "I really don't know, I'm not great, but I'm just gonna try my best and see what happens." Ryuu Crimson only played 120 minutes which is only 4 games. That was all last season with the Junior League in Calgary. His goal was to get onto a team that would give him more ice time. Thankfully, he didn't have to look very far. 3 weeks after the season ended he was told that he might be able to join a team in the Victory Hockey League. 4 days after the news, the Saskatoon Wild invitated him. He and center Dylan Nguyen (In Vietnamese ng is pronounced like a m) were drafted as part of the teams rebuilding phase. Ryuu said, "I am glad that both of us got in, I hope we get to know each other and hopefully become linemates." After a few more interviews, Ryuu Crimson wrapped it up saying, "Here is some advice to other players being drafted into teams, just try your best, listen to your coach and veteran players, and when your celebrating just please, please stay away from the eggrolls." (don't know if this is how you submit or post an article but ok)
