1. IT'S PLAYOFF SEASON!! WHOS GONNA WIN THIS CUP? Obviously I would have said us and now it's come true 2. Round one is over. Did you expect us to go to 7 games? No, it was much longer than I expected, didn't think we'd sweep but though in 5 maybe 6. 3. How do you feel you did in round 1? I started off slow but seemed to get better as it went on. Merely satisfied but not happy. 4. Round two is just around the corner. Who wins the series and in how many games? We win in 5 games 5. You excited for next season? Yes I will be playing in the VHLE and maybe playing in Italy. I will miss the guys here in Miami and maybe we end up on the same VHLE team. 6. If you shoot a duck I'm scared of toaster. Right? I don't know what this means, must be something I don't get as an Italian player lol.

Alessandro Nano ended his VHLM career with a founders cup, something his father never managed to achieve. He hopes that this is the first of many cups in his careerThe Miami Mauraders won the founders cup in 5 games with a 5-2 cup clinching win. Alessandro is not know for scoring goals but he did managed to get the game winner in game 2 on the powerplay. The powerplay is where Nano was most successful as all four goals were on the powerplay which put him in a tie for first in that category. Nano also managed to score some clutch goals as 2 were game winners which is half his total. Just like the regular season Nano was among the leaders in hits and penalty minutes but in the playoffs he also got into the top 10 in defense scoring. In the playoffs Nano scored 4 goals and 12 assists in 18 games to fall just short of a point a game. Now with a founders cup to his name, Nano will look towards the upcoming VHLE and VHL drafts. There is a possibility that Alessando will be playing at home in Rome next season but we will just have to wait and see how the draft pans out.

I'm am accountant at a company that owns office towers and malls. Just got my accounting designation this year after many years of trying to get the right work experience required. So too boring for most people lol -
Alessandro Nano ended his final regular season game on a 3 game goal streak which is rare for a defenseman. This was even more unlikely for Nano as that represents a third of his goal total all season. As mentioned in previous articles Nano is a defense first type of player so it's shocking to see him score 3 games in a row. He also ended the season on a 5 game point streak. Alessandro completed his first and last full season in the VHLM scoring 9 goals and 49 assists for 58 points. This concludes Nano's VHLM career as he will be playing in the VHLE next season. He ended his VHLM career with 10 goals and 51 assists in 90 games. He has had a better career than his father in the VHLM especially if he can bring home a cup this season. He has been assigned to the Stockholm Vikings for the VHLE draft lottery tournament. " I would've love to hit double digits in scoring after getting this close but with a few games left in the season if have thought I had no chance. It would been great to hit 50 assists but it was still a successful season and can't wait for the playoffs and to bring a cup home." The mauraders finished the season third overall and are strong cup contenders especially after ending the season in top form.

1. Season is nearly over. Are you satisfied with your performance? Yes I am. I have more points than expected and I'm up there in the hits leaders and the team winning makes it feel much better. 2. Just made a trade! You think it was a good move? Yes definitely. It's will give us the added boost to being the cup to the beach. 3. Can you smell the playoff air? Yep, can't wait for it to start, always the best time of the season. 4. The VHLE starts next season. What are you looking forward to most there? Possibly having my player play in his home country. That can only happen in the VHLE. 5. Who do you think we will play in round 1? I don't really know how the playoff seeding works so who knows but we will crush whoever it is. 6. To keep it light going into the playoffs just reply with your favorite color here. Red.

Alessandro Nano is approaching 50 points in his first full season in the VHLM which will be the final one in his career. Alessandro Nano will be hitting the TPE cutoff next week which means he will be graduating to the VHLE next season. With 60 games so far this season Nano has 6 goals and 40 assists for 46 points. Hits and PIMS are what Nano racks up frequently as he's third in the league in both hits and PIMS. Alessandro is not an offensive force but it will still be great to see him hit 50 points. His production so far has him at 0.76 points per game and with 12 games to go he is expected to score another 9.2 points which means he's likely to hit the half century mark with room to spare. With 46 points Alessando Nano already has more points than his father career VHLM season high of 40 points. As far as VHLM career totals Alessando has also surpassed his father who had 47 points in 100 career games. Alessandro has 49 points in 79 career games

As I am currently playing in the VHLM I've decided to look at the VHLM awards and look at some candidates and see who I think will win the award Founders cup This is the trophy all VHLM players aspire to. I will through out 2 teams per division as cup candidates. In the eastern division I will go with the Mississauga Hounds as the favourite as they are dominating the regular season and have to be considered strong contenders. The second team I am putting out there is my own team of the Miami Mauraders who sit in 3rd in the division. I'm very biased but i believe we have a shot at the cup. In the west there are really just 2 contenders and that's the Saskatoon wild and the Mexico city kings. With Saskatoon higher goal differential they are my pick to lose to my mauraders in the cup final. Prime Minister's Cup This award is given to the team with the best regular season record and There is really only one candidate to win the prime minister cup at this poin. That team is the Mississauga Hounds who enjoy an 11 point lead on Saskatoon with 14 games remaining. Saskatoon has a game in hand but the hounds magic number is 19 and with that many games left it's unlikely. Mitch Higgins trophy This trophy is given to the league MVP. The strongest contender for this award who leads the league in points by 9 and leads in assists by 5 while trails goals by 3. There's a decent chance that he will lead all 3 categories and that would seal the Higgins trophy. Another candidate is Kyle peace who is top 4 in points, goals and plus minus and leads in short handed goals. Ethan Osborne Trophy This trophy is given out to the points leader and that is currently Duncan Montana. Montana leads the league by 9 points so he's very likely the winner with just 12 games to go. Bryn Yrwy is the guy who is 9 back while Zach Kisslinger II is in third 11 back and this race seems to be done already. Alexander Chershenko trophy This trophy is given to the player with the most goals and this season the most likely winner is Bryn Yrwy who has a 3 goal lead over peace with 12 games left. This means that peace is the second strongest candidate while assist and point leader Duncan Montana rounds out my top 3. Vladimir Boomchenko Trophy This trophy is given to the player with the most assists in a season and this year it looks like it will be in the hands of Duncan Montana. MVP contender Montana has 80 assists in 60 games so far this season which gives him a 5 assists lead on Zach Kisslinger II. With 12 games left there is still time to catch Duncan but I don't see it happening. This trophy is a 2 man race as third place Nathaniel Minion is 10 back of first. Ryan Sullivan Trophy This trophy is given out to the league's best defenseman. These awards usually go to the leading scorer among the d and this year thats likely the case. Zdeno leads defense scoring by 16 points as he's put up 33 goals and 63 assists which is good enough for top 10 in scoring. Hes also an effective player at both ends of the ice as he's second on the league in shot blocks with 171. He's also not afraid to throw his body around as well. The other candidate is pistol Pete but don't see him having a chance as he has less shot blocks and points. Benoit Devereux Trophy This award is given out to the top goalie. This is a hard one to predict as there's different leaders in each category. First candidate is Luke Spinelli who leads the league in wins and shutouts. However That's more of a function of his strong team in front of him as he's 6th in GAA and out of the top 10 save %. I'd say the strongest candidate at the moment is Leroy Johnson who is second in wins and save % and he's 4th in GAA. I haven't predicted the playoff MVP as I just wanted to focus on regular season individual awards as we have stats for them.

1). Make salaries matter somehow. I'm now on my third player and have always taken minimum salary as rather have a better team as I could still have enough cash for depreciation fighter. I have no idea how to do this other than more options in the player store. 2) Player builds are very similar but that seems like a sim issue. All players have very similar builds due to how the sim works. Seems stupid that passing makes a forward less successful. I don't know what other sims are like for this type of league but would be great if there were more attributes to make diverse players. 3) A mock draft like event like PBE does where you make predictions on over under things such as and number of players at certain position drafted in top round. Get a certain number of TPE per correct answer. Might make draft more interesting for those not involved in it.

We're only 5 points behind 2nd place and we have a game in hand. Do we make the jump from 5th to 2nd this week? I don't think we will eventhough we have been playing great hockey lately as the Reapers are on a role as well. 2. Mississauga has all but run away with first place. Do you think any team has a chance at catching them? No at this point in the season I don't see it happening so we will need to take em down in the playoffs. 3. We are essentially playoff bound. How far do you expect us to go? I expect is to get to the final 4 at least but obviously we want the cup. 4. What have you been doing in your spare time? Watching mostly cooking shows plus some shark week episodes I'm still catching up on. 5. Do you expect Miami to make some big moves at the deadline? I hope we can make a move that brings us the cup. I'm just a player so will go out there and do my job. 6. How long did it take you to learn how to stop on ice skates without the assistance of falling or the board? I have no idea, it's been so long I can't remember but I was young I think.

Now that we are past the hallway mark in the season it's time to compare Alessando Nano's first full VHLM season to his father. Although both are different types of defenseman it will still be fun to see how they stack up against each other. So far this season Alessando has played 47 games and has scored 5 goals and 32 assists. The non scoring related stats for Alessando are 102 PIMS, 170 hits, 64 shot blocks and 68 shots on goal. Paolo was not a physical player so Alessandro probably has him beat in hits and PIMS already but time to check out dads stats. Paolo scored 14 goals and 26 assists so Alessando almost has dad beat already in points. Alessandro is unlikely to catch dad in goals as he would need to score 9 more but hes almost certain to pass him in almost everything else. Alessandro has surpassed dad in PIMS and hits which was expected before looking at the stats. Paolo had 128 shots in that first season while Alessando is on pace for 104 shots so he would need to start shooting the puck at a much higher rate. Paolo had 94 shots blocked in his season while Alessando is on pace for 98 and it looks like that will be a close race. So it looks like Alessando will improve on most of his dads stats except for shots on goal and goals.

Alessandro Nano D 6'2 210 pounds Alessandro Nano is in his VHL draft year after being selected overall in the VHLM draft this past offseason which surprised alot of people as he was expected to go lower. Going into his VHL draft, Alessandro currently is ranked 8th overall and the second highest defenseman. Alessandro is the son of former VHLer Paolo Nano who spent most of his career in Moscow who was an offensive defenseman. Pros Checking Checking is one of the stronger parts of Alessandro's game. He isn't afraid to take his man out with a big body check. As of this report Alessando sits 4th in the VHLM in hitting, sitting behind 3 Mississauga players who seem to hit everything that moves. Defense As a defense first type of dman, this is another aspect of Alessandro's game that will take him to the next level. He uses his smart positioning and decision making to cut down on the space opposing towards have in the offensive zone. Passing Passing is one of the stronger non defensive related skills that Alessando possesses. Hes not gonna be an elite offensive dman but he has a good first pass that can help his team breakout. He has 30 assists so far this season in the VHL with just 5 goals so he's going to be more of a playmaker than a finisher from the Blueline. His passing is rated at 60 which is pretty good for a VHLM defenseman. Cons Discipline Because of Alessandro's physical play on the ice he takes alot of penalties. This is a major downside of his game as he is a defensive defenseman he's the one that should be out there killing penalties instead of taking them. That said, there should be no correlation from checking to penalty minutes but for some reason referees call more penalties on guys that hit and let the weaker players get away with murder. Scoring Alessandro doesn't have the greatest shot from the Blueline and is more of a passing type defenseman. With just 5 goals so far this season on 64 shots he's definitely not a goal scorer. He has been rated 70 in the scoring which ranks him 4th on the mauraders in that category. Alessandro does just enough to get by in the offensive end. Skating Alessandro isn't the greatest skater and that's definitely something he needs to work on. His skating has been graded at 70 overall which again thanks him 4th in that category. He doesn't join the rush so he doesn't need that too end speed that offensive defenseman need but he still needs to work on his skating to have more success in his career.

1. The team has made a lot of moves so far this season. Are you happy with them or you indifferent? Happy with them as they seem to be working. We have been playing great so the moves are great 2. The team has come alive and we are rocketing to the top of the standings. Are you surprised by this? No, I knew we would do well once we developed some chemistry as we have a great group here. 3. Tomorrow we will play game 36 which will mark us making it halfway through the season.. Are you satisfied with your performance thus far? Yes I am playing better offensively lately and I am continue to make myself felt on the ice with my physical play. 4. Trivia is back and is not dead! Are you excited to not have to do an extra task now that trivia is here? Yes love that 2 TPE 5. Are there any more moves you think the team should make or are we already destined to win the cup with the current roster? I think we are destined for the cup now but whatever management feels is necessary im all for. 6. Have you been thinking about your future past this season and if so what are you most excited for? I am excited to see where I go in the VHL draft and excited to try out the VHLE one day.

Alessandro Nano had by far his best game of his career so far in the mauraders destroying the Ottawa Lynx. Nano had a goal and 3 assists in the 5-1 victory which earned him first star. Nano is not known for his offensive output as with 5 goals and 18 assists that one game accounts for 17% of his point totals. What he is known for is his tough physical play as he leads the league in penalties and sits 4th in hits. The Miami Mauraders absolutely crushed Ottawa outshooting them 41-8. The game started off slowly as period one went scoreless with the shots 7-1 for Miami. The second period is where the offensive started into high gear for the mauraders but wouldnt reach its peak until the third. Mikey Markov opened the scoring with a powerplay goal at 6:16 which was equaled by a Lynx powerplay goal at 15:49. Less than a min later Kevin hard gave the mauraders a lead and they wouldn't look back. Nano scores the first of Miami 3 third period goals that were just a minute and 57 apart. The final goal of the game was the only goal Nano was not a part of as Barry bonds jr scored his 7th of the season on the powerplay.

1. The team seems to have really picked up the pace. Do you think that's because of one player or a overall team improvement? I think it's overall team improvement and guys developing chemistry with each other 2. We made a trade recently. Do you think this trade is going to help the team win a cup? Yes for sure. We are playing some good hockey now and we will only get better. 3. We are just over a quarter of the way through the season. Have you been performing the way you expected so far? Yes I think I have been playing well, much better lately. As a hitting defenseman it's good to be in the top 5 and I'm getting more points lately. 4. Do you think the team should make any more trades to help put the team over the edge? I think we have a great team here but if management thinks we need an improvement I am all for it. Just hope it's not me going the other way. 5. Our GM just announced he's retiring from the VHLM after 17 season down here. Is there anything you want to tell him? It's been great playing for you even if just a short time. Maybe we meet again in the VHLE. 6. With the GM retiring there will be an open administrative spot here in Miami. Are going to apply or stick to being a player only? Nope, just a player only for me

1. Season has begun! Are you happy with your performance in this first week? No not really. Had a great first game and then had a cold streak. 2. Did you have any pre game nerves prior to the season opener? No, just very excited to be playing again. 3. How are you getting along with the team? We have a great group and guys are great even if I don't say much. 4. We're off to a slow start...Do you think we turn this around quickly? For sure we just need time to develop some chemistry 5. What is your biggest dream? To win multiple cups. 6. When did you first learn to skate? 3 years old on the Moscow ice while my dad played there.

Alessando Nano pointless in 4 games after 2 point opener
leafsman posted a topic in VHL.com Articles
Alessandro Nano has cooled off after a great first game of th season. In game one Alessando had a goal and assists but he went pointless in his next 4 games. Alessandro is more of a defensive defenseman but going pointless in 4 straight games is something that he'd needs to change. His goal is to get a point every other game so with 2 points in 5 games he's not far off but he was hoping to build on the first game. Alessando was minus 1 in that first game and hes now even on the season which is a positive. Although many don't believe that plus minus is a very relevant stat anymore for a defense first player it has a little more meaning. Alessandro now has 18 hits and 12 shot blocks on the year. Those are stats that Alessando takes pride in and he hopes to become a leader in those one day as he sits jut behind the top 10 in both categories by one. The mauraders have only played 5 games however with the top 10 players having played 6 so he could very well join the top 10 soon. -
1. With this week being the start of the new season what are your expectations for the team? To win the cup, everyone wants to win and hopefully we can make that happen in Miami. 2. What are your personal goals for this season? To outscore my father who had 14 goals and 26 assists in his first full season. Also better beat his -53. 3. What team in the VHLM do you think will win the cup this season? Miami, until proven otherwise I think we can win. 4. You just received a new AGM...Do you run him out of town ASAP? I'm new too so may as well give him a shot. 5. What pieces do you think the team is missing? I don't know, we seem to have a great team so maybe just missing the chemistry to start. 6. What part of your game will you work on the most this season? Probably my offensive side as my physical and defensive side are decent but need a bit more offense to be a better player.

Happy birthday VHL
