  2. I was about to say that. There's been a heat wave in Quebec for like 2 weeks now. We're regularly hitting 40°C, I'm not running in that. I say we can all set our own goals, but we try to push each other to do a bit more weekly or so. I'm looking more to run more than I walk. I don't think I'll ever jog 90 minutes a day 5 times a week. I was thinking of starting at 3km myself, and maybe add 1km every week or so. Hoping I can run 10km regularly at some point.
  3. Yeah, I most definitely agree. I have been prioritizing actives over inactives in Halifax in the mid-60s - @Dil can testify - I'm doing it again in Saskatoon now, and I've been pushing for others to do the same. I talked with the Commissioners - past and present - about it a lot too. I think it should be clear for VHLM GMs that they are basically the most important roles for retention. What they say to their players and the way they set their lineup will directly impact some of them and will play a role in deciding if they stay to play a full career, or if they go inactive after half a season. It's baffling to me that some still don't get it, so I'm looking forward to the reform, really.
  4. Bobby Wyman has reached 200 TPE He's grandfathered under the old 75/100/200 rule. +10 TPE
  5. Amen to that. Plus, when all is said and done, carryover gives a 29-TPE advantage vs first-gen exclusive stuff. High-end players will usually reach 1000+ TPE in their careers, 29 is nothing. It might seem like a lot because they create at 80, vs 30 for newcomers, but in the end it's really not much of a difference maker.
  6. I guess the real question here is: did they suggest me?
  7. Since like S64-S65, or somewhere around there, yes.
  8. All contracts are the same in the VHLM.
  9. Wherever you choose to sign right now, it's only for what's left of this season. - Then, this offseason, you will be available in the VHLM Dispersal Draft, which will determine which minor league team you will play for in the next season, at least. - And in the offseason before Season 74, you will be eligible in the VHL Entry Draft, so the major league draft. Usually, new players stay in the VHLM until they pass the 250-TPE mark.
  10. Welcome in the VHL, @Emi. There's only about 10 games left in the regular season, but if you'd be interested in spending them as a 5th defenseman on one of the best teams in the league, the Saskatoon would be happy to have you with us. I'm not gonna lie, your time on ice would be pretty limited, so if that's what you are looking for, you might want to wait for an offer from a team a bit lower in the standings. Let me know what you think
  11. tbf, it's not always a premeditated movement, sometimes it's just that it's the move that makes the most sense. Top teams are too stacked and it doesn't make any sense to purposefully join a bottom dwelling team when you know you can be 120+ TPE by the playoffs and actually help. There always seems to be one team that strikes that perfect balance. They have the potential to do some damage in the playoffs, and they holes for these recreates. This season it's Las Vegas, two seasons ago it was Houston.
  12. VHLM FZ is for VHLM players. VHL FZ is for everyone.
  13. My story is a bit different from others, but I guess it can be worth sharing too. - I've always been pretty skinny. I'm 5'11" and I've been dangling around 145 lbs for a long time now. Well, that was the case pre-COVID. I don't have a scale at home and the one we had at work was hidden for safety reasons. I don't think my weight has fluctuated much though, that's not really my issue. - I was always fairly active. I played hockey and baseball from 5 to 18, continued hockey into my adulthood a bit. Stopped a couple years back because the price was too much for the young adult that I was, but I picked up ultimate frisbee and have been ever since. - With the COVID-related restrictions, the past season was shut down in February and there doesn't seem to be plans in place to start the summer season. I have literally not been playing sports since Februrary and I never really liked training at the gym or running, so I have flat out not been doing anything in the past 4-5 months. I played spike ball with some friends a week ago and I was out of breath in sminutes, so I really need to find a way to motivate myself to run or play some legal sports. I've been trying to walk with the dog some more, and walk more at work, like during my breaks and all, but I need to start doing some more intense running as well. - I started getting vertigos a couple of months ago. Like, whenever I'd be sitting for a while, I'd stand up and get dizzy to the point where I need to hold myself on the couch or the wall or I'd fall. People around me think it might be due to dehydration - which I believe it is. I have never been a fan of drinking water, it tastes nothing. But with my new sedentary lifestyle, I have also started drinking a lot more daily, so I guess I need to find a way to replace beer and gin by water. We bought a sparkling water machine and some low-sugar, water flavours, so maybe that'll help. So I guess my objectives for the short-term future are: - Try to go for a run every other day and set goals for myself to increase the distance or the rhythm every now and then. - Try to drink like 3L of water daily. I've probably been drinking less than 1L daily for my whole life. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
  14. tbf, I almost did it last week, opted not to. But I had 15 participants last week and I know we can do way more than this.
  15. We are back. This Fantasy Zone's edition is about the last four games of the regular season, which I expect to happen Thursday or Friday. https://forms.gle/BBLUyapWHA8Cxqft9 And because I had so few participants last time, here goes: @Members Throw me rocks.

  21. Hello Kevin. Big fan. I think it's brave of you to tryout for a spot in the VHL despite your disability. Good luck.
  22. RIP Boxman. GL with Waters, bud
  23. Hey @Philliefan Good to see you're back at it after Jagger's great career. If you are interested in making a run for a Cup, Saskatoon as an open spot on their 2nd line. Would not give you the most time on ice, but it would give you a good shot at a Founder's Cup Let me know what you think!
