  1. Shoot sorry Do I get to pick twice still?
  2. Per a source close to Jagger Philliefan, the up-and-coming young defenseman has signed a one-year long endorsement deal with a major brand. With the requirement in place for every brand to have multiple VHLM representatives, Jagger was a no-brainer to accept a deal sooner or later. It appears the deal is on the lowest end of the endorsement spectrum, around $250k, though it surprises no one that the humble Pennsylvania native would take a small deal to allow for a better team to compete with during the Brand Tournament. It appears that the negotiations were rather speedy, with a source claiming the two parties came together on a monetary amount and term within a single counter-offer. The most surprising part of the deal is the term, as Philliefan has been an extremely loyal player throughout his career and looks to be continuing his habits into his VHLM days, having already come out and stated his intentions to elongate his VHLM career as much as possible. While the young defenseman may be loyal to a fault, he has put himself in a great position moving forward, both on and off the ice. Update: We can now confirm the brand with which Philliefan signed was Jolt Juice. 205 Words

  5. Is there a list of eligible players to be picked somewhere?
  6. 1. What do you hope to accomplish this year with the Rush? I plan to spend the next two seasons with our team; we acquired a lot of good pl'rs in this past VHLM draft and I feel like we can really make a good push this year. 2. Who would scouts compare you to in another hockey league? Probably someone like Ivan Provorov or Jonis Brodin. Extremely reliable defensively and a good playmaker to boot. 3. Out of the 8 VHL teams, who would you like to be drafted by if you haven't been draft yet? Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. I love YUK and want to play here as long as I can. After that, I plan to play my heart and soul out, regardless of who's mailing me my paycheck. 4. If you have been drafted into the VHL already, what player on your draft team are you looking forward to most? Haven't been. 5. What type of player should we expect to see from you this season, and moving forward in your VHL career? Definitely a defensive defenseman for the present. I hope to work myself to become a great two-way guy that can play in all situations.

  10. Cunning Stunts Have you ever wanted to see XTREME HOCKEY? Well, me too. Instead, buy some of our awesome indoor ice sheets WITH RAMPS!!! Didn’t think you needed them, you say? Wrong! Snipe top shelf every shot!! Have trouble getting air under your saucer passes! No longer! Never have any trouble with your shots any longer! Shooting too high, you say? Well…. Get better at hockey. Or, buy the ramp roof extension! Keep your shots and passes at the perfect height and just fine tune your power! Don’t worry about the fact the roof will block your stick, just buy it! GET SOME RAMPS ON ICE. H-E-Doule Hockey Sticks When you were little, every adult told you not to play with fire. We disagree. Don’t just play with fire, play hockey with fire. Our sticks are literally figuratively literally made in Hell, made specifically to burn your opponents with amazing skill and an amazing stick. All of our sticks are bright red and orange, a benefit to the player. Opponents are blinded just by glancing at the stick (your teammates are too, but let’s not get into that), resulting in easier dekes and dangles. Need help with your pokecheck? No problem! All of our hockey sticks melt right through opposition sticks so you can snag the puck with ease! Editor Note: Be careful when playing on ice, as our sticks will probably maybe definitely melt through that too.

  12. 1) This week, we've had a Mid-Season PT Theme bonus, where you got 10 extra TPE for making a PT about another player in the league. What theme would you like to be used next season? I think there could also be benefits from allowing players to write about their experiences with their teams thus far, or for undrafted players to write about how they have been mentally preparing for the draft. 2) We've also re-launched the VHL's Twitter account, and you can get 3 TPE for following the account and retweeting the recruitment tweet. Which social media platform do you think VHL should cover next? Snapchat! 3) Four of the five playoff places in the VHLM have been decided, the remaining teams to battle it out for the last place in the playoffs are the Rush and the Wild. The Rush are three points behind the Wild, but the Rush have a game more to play and the two teams play each other twice before the season's end. Who do you think will make the playoffs? Yukon all the way! With all of the NOHL guys coming in, I'm confident we can make it. 4) At the top of the table, it's a battle between the 21st and the Aces. The 21st are two points ahead of the Aces and the two teams play each other one more time before the end of the season. Who do you think will top the table come the end of the season? Gotta go with the 21st. 5) Speaking of the 21st, they revealed their logo yesterday, what do you think of it? I think it's pretty sweet. 6) Finally, I'll be doing another Mock Draft in my weekly Draftee Rankings tomorrow, fill in the template below with who you think will go where in the first four picks! 1 (Helsinki Titans) - Kastelic 2 (New York Americans) - Tzuyu 3 (Toronto Legion) - McWolf 4 (Riga Reign) - Borwinn
  13. Name : Jagger Philliefan Hometown - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania NHL Comparison - Jonas Brodin Position - Defense Age: 18 Shoots : Right Number - 68 Size - 6'1 Weight - 200 lbs While Jagger never truly developed his second nature of shooting, he more than makes up for his lack of scoring prowess with an overly-mature defensive ability for his age. Throughout his career, Philliefan has played on the first defensive pairing, often acting as either half of an elite shutdown pair or as the defensive anchor to complement an offensive defenseman. His skating is another one of his strengths; while never the fastest player on the ice, his stamina allows him to play long minutes consistently, even having gone so far as to have played over an hour on the ice in his double-overtime Midget A debut. He's nothing but a sporting, classy player who is willing to stick up for his teammates. He is loyal beyond compare and is willing to take a substantial hometown discount to bring success to his team, if necessary. Strengths Physicality/Strength Never the biggest player in terms of height, Jagger's thick build allows him to cleanly body opponents off of the puck with ease. His strength allows him to block shots at a constant rate, always willing to make the sacrifice for his goalie and his team. Skating/Speed Speed kills and Nathan understood that motto at a young age. He realized that being big and strong isn’t the only thing needed for the new style of play so he worked on his skating, mainly he trained his agility in the corners. Nathan excels in the dump and chase system. He isn’t challenging McDavid for the title of fastest skater alive but he's got the ability to break away when needed. Defensive awareness Jagger is always in the right place at the right time in his own zone. The type of PK-specialist most teams crave, he is a minute-muncher with defensive prowess to spare. Often deployed constantly during the late periods of close games, Jagger quickly attains the trust of his coaches to anchor the team in high-pressure situations. Weaknesses Shot Accuracy Never a strong shooter, Jagger can still score. He is able to go to the dirty areas to get the puck but severely lacks the necessary shot to be a consistent scorer from anywhere other than the point. He is always willing to work on his flaws, however, this is one of his biggest. Discipline Playing with the defensive fortitude he does, Jagger is bound to have many struggles with the rulebook early in his career. While few, if any, of his penalties, are ever dirty, his aggressive style of play and willingness to take one for the team leads to an excess in PIM for the young American defenseman. Fighting Again, Jagger’s true clean style of play led him to lack a fighting skill thus far in his young career. While his fighting menace may improve as he grows in age, he currently is no more skilled as a fighter than a layman, mostly due to his hesitancy from staying true to his clean, sporting style of play. Career Stats: Goals: 0 A: 121 P: 121 PIM: 220 FiW: 2 FiL: 4 ATOI: 27:32
