yeah one of the big things ive noticed between vhl and like shl/isfl/pbe is that individual locker rooms in the VHL are much less active, but the VHL general discord is much more active compared to those leagues.

Hi, I really liked these posts by Advantage when he was doing them. I think having some transparency as to what goes on in the Board of Governors is good. He did like large writeups and I don't want to do this (plus I'm not really sure how much I can leak so I'll just be playing it safe). I'll probably do these every so often when there's enough to discuss for a vhl.com article. But without further-ado, here are some of the things that have been talked about/proposed while I've been on BoG for a bit now. New BOG Members BoG discussed adding some members. Result is that me, fishy, dil, fromtheinside, and berocka. VHLM Draft Pick Trading I proposed this idea myself so I think it's fine to talk about this. Essentially just discussing roster disparity in the VHLM how to fix it. Past couple seasons there's teams with 0 players and then teams with 20, so want to find some sort of good way to balance rosters while keeping a somewhat competitive aspect to the VHLM. Gustav also partially wrote about this one in of his articles so you can read that for more info on his ideas. 6 TPE Job Pay/Theme Weeks Doesn't really affect many people, but was a lot of confusion between updaters on what people with 6+ job pay can and can't claim, and how it would relate to theme weeks. Bek posted this change in the rulebook, but essentially job pay and pt's are completely seperate unless it's theme week. Then for theme week if you claim the bonus with the 6+ job pay you also can't claim welfare that week since it would be considered PT replacing. Rookie Mentors Essentially just talking about the creation of a job under recruitment team that would be responsible for teaching rookies about the league instead of putting it ALL on VHLM GM's. Not a whole lot of discussion on this yet so.

1. I think people will argue Nousainen just because Vancouver has too many good players 2. Going to go a somewhat different way here, It's surprising that Riga isn't in a playoff spot right now 3. Not really sure what I'd do for my next player. Maybe a goalie? If it's not a goalie it'll end up being another 40 99 slave edit: im supposed to ask 3 1. what's your favourite VHL city? 2. If you went back in time to the time of the dinosaurs could you eat a whole dinosaur in 2 weeks? 3. What would you think about team's having like an owner system where the owner can hire/fire gm's.

you cant do that to @KitRas

I remember when I first joined all the teams had one channel LR in the general discord. Assuming your talking about something like that again. I think the benefit is that you have a discord for everyone in the same place and can organize different channels. Instead of being limited to one channel you can make a bunch of topical channels, and also just add some for fun channels. When I was MCK GM I created a pingerdome channel where people could just spam ping others. People enjoyed it, and something like that couldn't be done in a general discord without asking mods every time to create a channel. I also think whoever is being hired as a VHLM GM should be trusted enough to peacefully hand over an LR. If your hiring people who are a 50/50 on handing over and nuking an LR it's a little questionable. I do understand that things happen, but they don't really happen that often. And what's stopping whoever has control of all the LR's from nuking ALL of the LR's. I also get the evidence piece but isn't that the whole point of tfong's and league investigations. That during an investigation you look in the LR, you look at the context, and you'll know if something is deleted, and if someone is deleting things well...

i just dont think this is a huge issue, how many times are LR's nuked vs peaceful handovers, and is it enough to warrant commish's owning every LR. And if that happens what happens if the person who owns everything goes rogue.

I mean people creating then immediately leaving isnt something you can fix, like what are you supposed to do if someone closes the site right after creating and never comes back. Not sure what you mean with people creating and never getting invites? Are GMs signing people and not inviting them? Sounds like a GM problem and not a system problem
-
well doesnt the problem your saying stem from not every team is watching the threads and posting within 10mins. Like a team is at a disadvantage if they can't offer until like 5 hours later and by that point the player is signed right. If it's on the portal and the player chooses the team that wouldn't be able to offer for 5 hours, that player doesnt get a discord invite or anything until 5 hours after they sign. Might not be a huge issue, but I feel like some people would be "what next", and if nothing happens in the next 5 hours they just leave. If that person gets a discord invite within 10 mins then they might stay right.

Is it really a bad thing to get players on teams quickly though with the current system. Like is it actually a bad thing that players sign with the first team? I think its only bad because of the waiver limit being 8 or whatever, so teams can get 8 more players than another before stopping. If you reduce that to 3 then teams only get ~3 players more than another. It also keeps players on the forum and having somewhat personal pitches, where something on the portal would contribute to more clickers and people not coming on the forums or discord. Plus the quick pitches are people get on teams fast and into discords, good for retention. If it's a generic portal offer the GM might not see it was accepted for 8 hours, and by that time the player might already be gone. Typed this up quickly so might not make a whole lot of sense but I think you can see my points?
