Hello VHL, Today I have a pair of important announcements to make about the leadership of the league going forward. First, a bittersweet one. After just over 20 seasons, I have decided to step away from being a true VHL Commissioner. But don't worry, I am not going anywhere! In fact, just the opposite. I will be focusing all my time on the part of my job that I have come to enjoy most - continuing to develop the VHL Portal and managing the VHL server in general. There is a variety of reasons for this like a decrease in free time due to work, but most of all I just think it is what is best for both myself and the league. I can focus completely on what I want to be doing (which really has come to feel like more a hobby than a 'job'), and the league will benefit both from me focusing more on the Portal and having two very capable Commissioner's with a much fresher outlook and drive than I to run the day-to-day operations of the league. I will also be staying on as VHL Simmer. Overall this shouldn't be a huge change, as it is Beketov has been handling the large majority of the issues and things that come up daily. Mainly this is just a bit of a relaignment. As I will be maintaining those jobs, I will be a bit more involved than previous Commish's have been after they left official duty. Because of this, I think we decided that I will move to a new administrator position - somewhere between the commissioners and the admins. Of course, I will be there to help out with the day-to-day when needed and provide unsolicited advice - but I think with me focusing on the Portal and the new Blue team focusing on the operations, we will be in good shape going forward. That's enough about me though. I might do some media spots with some reflections on the past 20 seasons, but for now I want to get on to my replacement. I'm happy to announce that @Quik will be the new VHL Commissioner working alongside @Beketov. Although technically an original member, Quik's long time away from the league has made him much more of a newer member, or at least an old one not stuck in the ways of the past. He came back with fresh ideas and motivation to improve the league and I think he will continue to do that as Commissioner. I very much believe that it takes a certain type of personality to be an effective Commissioner and I think Quik ticks all the right boxes. Of course, we will still have trusty@Beketov as well, who has been an absolute pleasure to work with over the past several seasons. I think him and Quik will make a formidable Commissioner'ing duo.

Hello, I am looking for some help with a quick portal project. I am looking to link players with continental & founder cup victories so that I can include them in the awards tab on player pages, as well as do some other stuff such as a cup winner leaderboard. I'd rather not go through and add each roster manually so this is where you come in. In Excel or Google Docs, I need you to create a spreadsheet containing each player on cup-winning teams from S40-S62. It needs to be in this form: That's all it needs to be, no spaces or headings or anything. Just go through each cup-winning roster, for each player on the roster, type the season of the cup-win and the players name. Please make sure names are spelled right. Here are the VHL Cup Rosters and VHLM Cup Rosters. Remove any positions and '[C]' or '[A]'s from player names if you copy and paste from the portal. Player names only. I think we should have one person do VHL and another VHLM. Pay: 3 uncapped + 8 capped (the capped can be used whenever you feel like)

I'm having some issues with the STHS file. After I simmed last night, I realized I hadn't updated ratings in a bit so I did that - i always save the file to my computer rather the dropbox after loading ratings so i can make sure it all went well before overwriting the dropbox file. But, i shut down STHS afterwards last night and now I'm having issues opening that file. Going to try to get it working/see if i can find anything on STHS forum. If not I might have to re-do last nights sim ? If i do, I will make sure game winners stay the same. Sorry world ? Yes

I've noticed this happening too. Only thing I can think of since it started happening is that I configured caching for the forum. I've disabled the cache for now so let me know if you run into it again so we can rule that out. If you don't run into it again, I will investigate and try to get the cache set up properly.

Hate the old P2 system too but I don't really see the point of 2nd players if all TPE would apply the exact same tbqh. I mean, I know many people would love to apply their TPE to two players, but looking at it from the perspective of the league rather than a self serving member I find it kind of hard to find a real benefit in that scenario.. it seems like it would really just amount to a shallow increase in the # of players, even shallower than the original P2 program and that was a time when we actually needed it ?

You are not yet aware of this, but @Higgins has decided to step away from VHLM simming. While he has left the door open to coming back in the future when he is in a better position to be the reliable simmer that the VHLM deserves, I thought it would be appropriate to give him a shout out for years of doing one of the toughest jobs around. Higgins has been simming the VHLM since S43 when the VHLM sim was separated from the VHL sim. So 20 seasons and roughly 3.5 years. That is quite awhile doing one of the most time-consuming and annoying jobs on the site - simming VHLM is a significantly bigger job than even simming the VHL. On top of the simming, Higgins was an active Commissioner and the main server admin for at a least a large a portion of his simming tenure. In that time there has a never been a stretch of more than a couple of days, excluding off-seasons, where he did not sim some VHLM Games. SO everyone should give Higgins a shout and thank him for many years of service. Going forward, @Beketov will be taking care of VHLM simming. We aren't sure yet how permanent that will be, we're discussing some options.

Open a team, go to Roster and then Copy All Rosters on the right-hand side. Back out of the roster page, go to Lines and hit Copy All Lines on the right-hand side. Just because since there was no schedule made when GMs created lines, the roster/lines will only be applied to GM 1 unless we copy them to the rest.

I know we used to have to check the lines literally every sim because if they ran out they would auto-line, which I think is what DA is saying. But awhile back STHS started copying the last day of lines valid lines to invalid days (so someone submits 10 games of lines, the lines from the 10th game will carry forward until new lines are sent). But I always copy them manually at the start of the season just because I'm not sure if it behaves differently when there isn't an actual game attached to the lines.

@VHLM GM @Beketov VHLM Season will kick off tomorrow with a double sim so be sure to get lines in ASAP, only at 2/6 atm
