Actually, it will be GM 39! Some day VHL Bot will be intelligent enough to post the right playoff titles..
-
Fun fact: this is the 4th season a row that the finals have gone to GM 7
-
Also, I apologize for the hectic/sporadic sims this series. I've been very busy the last few days of this week but should be getting back to normal today.
-
Games 1 & 2 was 100% my fault. I left the player off the roster. In this case, as I said, I loaded the CGY lines that were sent to me and there's no other reason on my end why Saint would have been out of the lineup. That means it was GM error, and there wouldn't be a resim for GM error whether CGY won or not. My position is that I'll resim only if something is clearly my fault. That's the only way to keep people from pushing for a resim only when it's convenient for them, IMO.
-
Yeah for sure, theres not going to be a resin, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue on my end before simming GM 5.
-
No doubt but, I mean, no different than you hoping for a re-simming when the other guy was down a player ? But @Bushito can you confirm whether you took him out of the lineup or not? As you can see in the transaction log on the index, I loaded CGY lines this morning and made no other change so I can't see how he'd get removed on my end. But don't want to sim without knowing.
-
I loaded CGY lines prior to simming I will have to see if this was an issue on my end or Bushito's.

I only simmed one the first night because VHL was behind
-
@Bushito @Beaviss Unfortunately I've had to re-sim the first 2 games. Calgary was missing a legitimate roster player in Cayden Saint, and I had made a commitment to Bushito that I would figure out a way to get him on the roster following the Semi's.
-
To be fair I DID process it the first night but STHS apparently rejected adding a player during playoffs, I forgot to turn a CPU player into Cayden Saint as I said I would last night.
-
Didn't know it doesn't work for VHLM ?
-
I've been simming this weekend. The only Halifax lines vhlsim@outlook has received came in at 7:43 AM this morning.
-
thanks for the update
-
Congrats @Quik @Beketov, I've just now been convinced that the change the was worthwhile ?
-
S62 was wrote off as soon as Seattle got eliminated!
-
PS @Devise is S63 WC Commish

Yes and either. It's the way we've been handling it ever since we switched to TPA. Basically we're considering signing at minimum to be signing at minimum, whatever that minimum may be.
-
Just a quick note on this that I didn't realize before: ever since we switched to TPA for brackets, we have allowed salaries to be decreased if depreciation caused a player to go down a bracket AND their salary before decreasing was the minimum for their bracket. In other words, if a player is signed at minimum for their TPA bracket and depreciation causes them to drop a bracket, their salary can be adjusted without player acceptance. So we should probably codify that in the rule book too.

wtf i swear i had him in there, then again i swore i had him in there earlier when i told you lines we ready... i don't think the sim likes adding players during playoffs I'm just going to morph one of your CPU players into Cayden Saint for tomorrow ?
-
Damn even shots my bad fam....
-
Koponen would be right, certainly the player I was most engaged with. Locke was fun but even when I came back I figured he was too far gone so I didn't really 100% into him.. it worked out though.

Small detail, but there isn't actually a V3 engine. V3 is just the STHS program itself. The engines are 1.1, 1.5, 2.0, or 2.1 (we use 1.1): You certainly can, but just know..I've tried it several times and I've never been able to get consistent reasonable results ? 1.5 isn't THAT bad, but almost none of the features (like TA/GA) are included in 1.5 either so it's pointless to switch to that one. My testing and research on the STHS site back when I was trying to do 2.0 or 2.1 led me to discover that in the V2 engines, player attributes have A LOT more weight than the league sliders versus in V1. So the reason we have insanely high scoring on those engines is because VHL players tend to have high attributes (relative to say, an NHL rating file that the engine was probably designed around). I did manage to get more reasonable results when i significantly reduced everyones passing and scoring attributes (i did it by a percentage but can't remember what %). That was all before the new update scale(s), but I'm not sure if the scale changes would be enough to bring scoring down to reasonable levels.
