  1. Having received large amount of offers quickly after Free agency, all eyes have been on Ritchie's twitter feed watching him react to the offers as they came in.
  2. Wanted a league where I can actually have some success because apparently I suck at sim basketball, also It'll be nice to be just a player again instead of a AD/GM, and I just like the sim league community so wanted to try something new Score 30+ goals, I have no idea how feasible that it because I know next to nothing about hockey but looking at the stats the top guys are at like 45 so with enough minutes it seems possible. Haven't got one. I don't tend to watch much live sports but I pay attention to basketball and professional CS. In my early career I think I'm gonna go out and just try to score as many goals as I can for fun so that's focus number one. I know the cliche of team-winning over everything but I think I'm gonna turn that on it's head for this player, he wants big stats and lots of goals. 10 healthy years sure, my family had to recently put down the family dog so if it was 10 more healthy years for my dog then yeah I'd do it.
  3. Review: Nice picture selection that's a good size and a solid list of the key attributes of the player. The descriptive text of his background could use some distinction from the rest of the text as It's the same size and font as the below parts of the reports with just a line break to separate it. The sub-heading for "Strengths" and the subsequent ones for "Discipline", "Skating" etc could also use a way to seperate them from the body of the text. This can be done by bolding the text, underlining it or changing the font colour. This would make the report look better and be easier to read as well. The pro's and cons could use a bit more detail as well rather than just picking the stats that are low. You've also misspelt "quik" as "quik" a few times in the report. Overall it's a good effort that could be easily improved by some minor formatting additions.
  4. Review: Great use of different text, having the descriptive section in itallis with the more technical pros and cons in normal font is a really nice touch. You've put "Shoots Left" on the top part twice by the way. missed out a letter c on the the "quik" here. Also not sure what you mean by "compete levels" this is perhaps something you'll need to explain if you're including it in future media spots. Other than that really good detail on the pros and cons and it gives a nice overview on what kind of player Karazija will be.
  5. thanks for the offer. I'll be allowing time to decide and receive any more offers before I make my commitment.
  6. (S68) Raleigh Ritchie RW | 6' 1" | 146 lbs | Age: 21 | | Portsmouth Ritchie is the most recent talent to come out of the United Kingdom's slowly burgeoning hockey scene, though still grass roots they are some good youth development programs going on out that and that's given some VHLM teams enough reason to send a few scouts over to the little island every once in a while. Ritchie has just finished his first season in the UK's national hockey league. The Rookie put up some astonishing numbers, scoring the most goals by a rookie since 2008 with 14 goals in 21 games, a mark good enough for 3rd overall in the league. He was award the Rookie of the year award as well as the young player of the year award. Now let's breakdown how the young Englishman plays. + Pros Excellent shooting, Ritchie has a natural talent for hitting the back of the net from far out, a signature slapshot from the wing is often met with a puck flying past the opposition goaltender. Agility, at 6'1 and 146 lbs Ritchie is one of the lightest players on the ice more often than not, this lets him get into his shooting spots faster and set up ready for the pass with minimal interference from opposing defensemen Hard-working, The young man has a serious drive in him and many reports have come out from local hockey publications about Ritchie staying late after training with the teams goaltender to work on shot. This is a great mindset for a young player to have. Locker room presence, After joining the adult team for the Portsmouth Victory he immediately fit right in, a natural joker that has quickly built strong relationships with teammates and rallied the team around him in the last season playoffs. - Cons 1 Dimensional play, Though Ritchies scoring has made him an invaluable asset to his team there may be some concerns about his single minded approach to the game, lapses on the defensive end have cost his team points at certain times this season and this may be exploited more at higher levels of play. Attitude, Ritchie has played with a chip on his shoulder and his performances being lauded league-wide has led the young wing to run his mouth and trash-talk opponents. With the increased attention from the media that would come from playing in the VHL some have wondered whether the youngsters brash tendencies will get him in trouble and cause friction with teammates, management adn members of the media. Physicality, Ritchie's slight build has equal drawbacks to the advantages of mobility, against more physical defenders that are fast enough to keep up with him he can struggle somewhat. This hasn't been too much of a problem in the UKHL but against the better talents oversees only time will tell whether Ritchie will still be able to produce. Pressure, In Ritchie only's playoff experience against defending UK champions the London Musketeers he didn't perform well, seeming to be unable to control the nerves that came with playing in a larger arena and under the eyes of more fans that he was accustomed to. With crowds and stakes only getting higher in the VHLM this could become a stumbling block that will severely inhibit his success unless he can hurdle it quickly
  7. 1) Since it's not been too long since you've joined the league, what are thoughts on the league so far as a whole? Seems pretty good so far, the portal looks really sleek and nice, I could definitely see myself doing some articles for that. 2) Are there any areas in the league that you would like to see a change/improvement? I haven't look at enough stuff yet but perhaps and "Other" option in the drop down box so you can type in something that doesn't fit. 3) The VHLM Newsletter launched earlier this week, did you read it and was it helpful to you? I haven't' seen it no. 4) What are your aims this season in the VHLM? I want to score a tonne of goals and win my team games, a lot of playing time would be a top priority as well. 5) With the teams starting to take shape, who do you consider to be the favourite for the VHLM Founders Cup? I'd need to get a better grasp of the league and what makes a team good in the sim before I can answer that question. 6a) Is there any player on your VHL team that you're particularly looking forward to playing with when you make the VHL? (For players who were also in the VHL Draft) Probably Guillaume Fontenette @okocha5 or whoever @gorlab's player is. No idea what teams they're on though. 6b) What do you think of your current VHLM team? (If you were selected in the VHLM Draft) Haven't been selected yet, think I might have missed it? Anyway, if they aren't the best team before I join they definitely will be after. 6c) If a GM were to make you an offer, what kind of player would they be getting? (If you're currently unaffiliated). An ALL OUT SCORER, goals win games and Ritchie game has and always win be about banging in screamers.
  8. Raleigh Ritchie is the latest talent to cross the Altantic to start a career in the VHLM, a young scoring phenom he's worked his trade in the British U-20 league for 3 seasons from the tender age of 16, playing against older and stronger players. After moving up to the adult league in the most recent season Ritchie was the star of the Portsmouth Victory as he led the team to their first playoff appearance in only the team's 3rd year in the league after being formed. The 6'1 skinny RW sharpshooter packs a devilish slapshot that defies your first impressions from his light frame. His agility is what allows him to evade larger defensemen to find enough space to let rip his trademark shot. Recently signing to the esteemed Golding agency who previously have only been recruiting basketball stars, he's their first foray into hockey and the agency has notified GM's that Ritchie's inbox is open for business.
