  1. Some questions for you guys

    1. Do you feel like you're overachieving this playoffs?

    2. Do you think you have a chance to comeback from being down 2-0 and win the finals?

    3. If the finals are already over, what are your thoughts on it?

    4. What are going to be the Lynx objectives for next season?

    5. What are your thoughts on S64 Dispersal Draft prospect Carles Puigdemont?

  2. What a semi-finals we had this year, with the Lynx upsetting the Rush in a 7-game series and the Wild coming back from a 3-1 game deficit to beat Halifax.

Things were looking awful after the Halifax put themselves up 3-1 in the series. Saskatoon had some really tough losses, especially two comebacks, one of which where they lost a 7-1 goal advantage and ended up losing 8-7. Last week we talked to Carles and Brick to see how they stay strong mentally, and although it looks like there was more to what they told us, whatever they are doing surely works wonders.

They rallied back from being down 3-1. First, they won game 5 at home in what was a very close game that ended in OT and then they had a very dominating performance at Halifax that in my opinion, was the series decider. Losing game 6 at home by 7-1 (!!) when you were up 3-1 has to be mentally crushing, and it showed in game 7 at Saskatoon where the Wild had another monstruous game winning 6-1.

The Wild have continued their hot streak in the playoffs with now 5 games in a row, putting them up 2-0 in the finals and heading now to Ottawa for games 3 and 4 in what looks to be a very favorable series for the Wild who are likely to take the Founder’s Cup home.

  3. Carles, or Gayles now, was changing in the lockerroom while overhearing his teammate's interview. When Brick just went ham and confessed his love for him, everyone looked at Carles and he just smirked and kinda did the Karlsson wink thing, but to be honest he is pretty bad at winking and didn't come out as nice as Karlsson's wink. He just said "I'm glad you got it out of your chest. You stopped everything last game except for your feelings."

  4. This is not an article about coping with the loss of a familiar, but it is rather about how to get over a very demoralizing loss in a playoff series. As some of you may have seen, the Wild lost 8-7 in the first game against his series against Halifax, but not only that, they gave up a 7-1 lead. However, it seems like they are very focused on the playoffs and did not let that loss get in their heads, as they came out fierce for game 2, posting a 4-0 shutout and tying the series at 1-1.

We asked both Carles and Brick what was their mentality like after game 1 going into game 2 and Brick said "When I have hard games and everything seems to crumble around me I take time to remind myself that it is just one game. I have to be strong for my team and try to be a positive presence. The most important thing is being able to put a game like that behind you. Just come together and support each other".

Carles agreed with him, and added "When you want to win so hard, you cannot let things like these get into your head, it is important to make sure nobody in the team is thinking about past games and is just focused on the next one".

Today we are going to have games 3 and 4 of the series and both teams have taken demoralizing losses now, but it looks like Saskatoon is better fit mentally than their opponents, will that combined with their talent be enough to advance to the finals?

  5. As we all know, playoff time is here! Both VHL and VHLM playoffs have already started and today we are going to focus more on the VHLM playoffs.

Let’s start with the wildcard series, a pretty wild series with the first upset of the playoffs, Ottawa beating Las Vegas. Although on paper it is an upset, it can be easily explained by Dahlberg, the #2 prospect right now catching fire.

With a hat-trick in the first one he was the main reason of the Lynx’s win over Vegas 3-2. In the second game, where the Lynx won 4-2 he had a point and an assist as well, earning the 1 star again.

We had the chance to ask Dahlberg how he saw this series and what his thoughts are going into the next one, and he said “We had a great showing against Vegas. We didn't over estimate ourselves especially knowing that we were the underdogs in that series, but I guess Vegas did. We came out hard and strong in those 2 games. The scoresheet may seem like I did all they work, but Finn and the others really contributed to our series win.”

Overall it was a pretty close series, game one was decided by just one goal and game two was decided by just two, I’m sure most fans would have loved it if it were a 7 game series.

Let’s move on to the second round, where the Lynx are going to face the #1 regular season team, the Rush and the Halifax will face the #2, the Wild.

The first games have been played, and we already had what might be the game of the playoffs so far in Saskatoon.

Game 1 was an absolute massacre, ending in a OT win for Halifax, and the score was 8-7! Absolute frustrating loss for the Wild since they were up 7-1, but it looks like they could get that game out of their heads, came out and flat out dominated the second game with a 4-0 shutout. The 1 star of the game, Sir Carles, scored his first VHLM goal, and he told us “I’m just glad we could get over game 1, it really doesn’t matter anymore, we just have to focus for the next ones. I’m hoping to contribute like I did in game 2 for the next games.”

Now, moving to Yukon, the favourites of the series didn’t give the Lynx much of a chance, and won both games by shutouts with stellar performances from Stoffiday. However, we know Ottawa has won some games in the regular season against Yukon, and if Dahlberg catches fire at home again it can turn into a very tough series. In his interview Dahl himself said “I obviously had 2 great games (against Vegas) there and I'm looking to carry it over into Yukon. Yukon has been a very strong team this year and we're going to have to work hard and play our game in that series. We got some wins against them in the regular season so its definitely doable if we work hard and play as a team.”

Games 3 and 4 are going to be a thriller in both series and all fans from around the world that like sports should tune in and watch them, because anything can happen and it’s going to be brutal!

  6. 1. This season's achievement tracker was just released by Banackock. What 2 stats are you going to claim TPE for?

I can't declare for it this season but next season I'm probably going to claim points + whatever is the better of my goals/assists

    2. The first round of the playoffs saw Ottawa beat Las Vegas 2-0. They are now going against Yukon. Do they have a chance?

Ottawa looks scary man, Dahlberg is on fire, luckily we don't have to face them this round.

    3. Who wins the other semi-final, Saskatoon or Halifax?

    SSK of course;)

    4. I just shared a 2-round mock draft, do you think anyone was too high or too low in it?

Brick feels too low, but the goalie market is just so clogged up that it makes sense he goes 6th

    5. The VHL All-Star Game was streamed a couple days ago. Did you check it out and what did you think of it?
I checked it out although I couldn't catch it life. Pretty fun to be honest, would be kinda cool to see all games played like that (obviously it can't be done)

    6. It's time to make a last push before the draft. How much TPE do you think you'll have on draft day (knowing it's in about 2 weeks)?

I'm a S65 prospect but I'll be pushing anyways. Aiming for that #1 pick in S65!
