  5. Evgeny Bernov: Russian Sniper At the age of 15, Bernov played in a Junior Hockey League in Russia, located in the Moscow area. He would record 12 goals and 6 assists in 68 games played. His coach had been disappointed in Bernov for not producing like he promised he would. Evgeny originally stated he would put up 30 goals and 25 assists in 68 games, but failed to do so. However, this wouldn't hurt him going into the KHL... Evgeny Bernov was approached by CSKA Moscow, his hometown team. They were already near the Junior league he had been playing in and really liked his potential, so they offered him a roster spot. At age 16, he would impress many of his coaches and teammates with his production. 24 goals and 12 assists in 57 games played. This performance would offer a guaranteed roster spot for 1 more year, and he did not disappoint. 17 years old, he puts up 30 goals and 28 assists in 66 games played, earning him the "A" on his sweater. Evgeny was liking the Russian ice, until the incident... At age 18, first game of the regular season against Jokerit, he received a check to the head that would give him a concussion... he didn't play at all the rest of the season. After 3 years of sitting out due to his injury, he was finally given the okay to begin playing (don't worry, he had still been allowed to practice). At age 21, he put up 17 goals and 4 assists in 44 games played. His coaches cut him some slack due to his injury a few years prior. Age 22, he wouldn't return to his former self as he had an abysmal 2 goals and 0 assists in 24 games played. His coaches weren't happy and did not play him during the playoffs, leading to him exiting the KHL. Here lies a 22 year old Evgeny Bernov contemplating his next move. His old childhood friend Sergei had told him to go to North America. They make more money there and it would be a fresh start. Evgeny took his friend's advice and set sail to North America. 2 teams were interested in his skills, so they decided to interview him. The Boston Bruins were all for him until they realized he barely knew any English, and didn't want him on their team. The Vancouver Canucks were 50/50 on him in the first place, and after further examining his size, they decided to let him sign with another team. Problem is, no other teams were interested. He then tried the AHL, the Utica Comets wanted him, but felt he wasn't ready for North American ice. The Hershey Bears offered him a 2 week try out, and they decided to terminate the try-out 4 days in. Then, he took his talents to the ECHL where he would be rejected by every single team there. Finally, he tried the VHLM, and he would be extremely happy to hear that he is draft eligible. Now, this story has no future as for it is the present. We wish Evgeny the best of luck as he begins his VHLM journey here.
  6. Born March 19th, 1994, Evgeny Bernov is welcomed to the world. Proud parents Alexei and Sofia Bernov welcome Evgeny into their home. He had no brothers, no sisters, 2 cousins. The Bernov's weren't wealthy, but weren't in poverty. They had found a sustainable lifestyle to raise their little boy. At age 3, Evgeny first stepped onto the local pond during winter. He and his best friend Sergei had loved it and asked their parents for hockey equipment. That Christmas, they had received sticks, skates, and gloves. That was all that they had gotten, but they put it to good use. Evgeny would go on to join many PeeWee, Bantam, and Junior leagues in Russia, before making it big and going to the KHL. He had established himself as a 3rd line sniper before deciding to explore North American markets. Evgeny wanted to make more money, so he went to the NHL looking for a key role on a team, but didn't get any luck. No attraction from the AHL, ECHL, nor LNAH. FInally, he discovered the Victory Hockey League & the Victory Hockey League Minors. He couldn't have picked a better time to come to this league as they were heading into the draft, so he decided he'd enter the draft. That is where our story ends, but stay tuned for... Bernov: Russian Hockey.
  7. i dont work here but i lurk in your locker room so ill take these 1. I think you are a really good team and have a good shot at the cup. 2. I was not surprised as I thought both teams were capable of their results. 3. Definitely Halifax, only team to do better than you. 4. I have never played a VHLM or VHL game, but in the KHL we'd cover each other in vodka. 5. Definitely a cat person, I have 2 cats. 6. The most wholesome Angel Wachiure, I mean look at his first name! The least wholesome is the man behind the scenes, Spartan.

  16. I feel like this trade could use some 4th round picks if I am being honest.
  17. Oh, it feels so good to be back. Howdy, y'all! Viper here. I have taken some time off from the league to focus on real life and other stuff. I suddenly had a flash of VHL memories, and I knew I had to come back. I wanted to continue McDagg's career, try to get him a cup. Maybe kick the shit out of some more punks, who knows? All I know is that McDagg is coming for you. McDagg needs a storybook ending, not some crappy one. His career started off slow in Houston, 3 points in 20 games. Then he was picked up in the 4th round by his current GM, Peace, in Saskatoon. 51 points (24 goals, 27 assists) before missing the playoffs. Season 69 comes around, and McDagg has a slump. 27 in 72. However, Saskatoon is fucking up the entire league. Nobody can control them. Playoffs come around, and they beat the hell out of everyone. Also this season, he was drafted by Shawn in Davos. Season 70 rolls around, and he is traded back to Houston. 101 points in 72 games, not bad McDagg. The kid bulldozes before Houston is eliminated in Round 2. ====================== Then, S71, he makes it to the pros after being traded to Toronto to reunite with his former GM, Peace. 48 points in 72 games for his freshman season, not bad. Season 72 hits, and the fucker wins an award for fighting, ain't it silly? 52 in 72 for a career high, not bad. Toronto is beaten in the first round, and McDagg collects 4 in 7. Finally, S73, McDagg gets 64 in 72, then goes inactive. He's back now. I am back. Thank you, VHL. 285 words.
  18. 1. Hell yeah! 2nd rounders can be real studs! 2. I haven't really followed this draft class, so I don't know. 3. I'm sure I have some, but I haven't payed attention. 4. Smart GM with experience with predicting activity. 5. Lack of free agents to sign with us. 6. Nope. I love ya, Peace. You've raised me in this league, from Saskatoon to Toronto, I'll always have faith in you.
  19. 1. Hard to say. If we can just get hot at the right time, we can pull it off. 2. I'd have to say Chad Magnum. 3. TOR G is a solid locker room guy, he always makes us feel good. I'd say he gets a few more starts, and all of them wins. 4. I am, yes. I was an AGM and these players were both on one of my teams at one point. It is exciting to be reunited. 5. The way we communicate on the ice. We all know where the other guys are, resulting in great plays. 6. When you get a great chance, and you hit the post. That's happened to me many times this season.
  20. the sleeves. sexy
