  1. I simply cannot do that to this amazing team haha. You'll have to accept my sincerest (maybe ) of apologies haha.
  2. 1. What do you think of managements choice of Captain and Alternate Captain's this season? Excellent choices imo. Players that have proven loyalty and are atop of their game in terms of practice hours. 2. If your player could change to any other position on the team which would you choose and why? Probably defense tbh, I enjoy playing center but I've always been a big fan of playing as a defender, per my track record with players. 3. What is your expectation for production this year for goals and assists, and for goalies SV% and GAA? Honestly I don't have many expectations. I'm not really considered a "top player" this year in the E, so I'm just along for the ride really. 4. What do you think of the teams start to the season so far are we performing above or below expected? Right in the "middle of the pack" right now and honestly not far off being considered a top 2 team. I think with a big push and continued activity & updates we'll be right up there for contention. 5. What do you think of your players start to the season so far are you performing above or below expected? I always like to HOPE for the best, but it's been mediocre really. So many great roster players, that it's tough to standout which is fine by me. I don't mind being more of a role player. 6. If you could pick out a nickname for myself and Fradin what would you call us and why? The choo-choo's. I'm French, this was always something that was more of an inside joke with my family, fitting for yourselves.
  3. For the first time in existence, LA made it to the finals, and despite the sweep and the brooms being brought out against them, it was a step in the right direction. With cap not increasing however and a lot of expiring contracts, a lot of media outlets and "insiders" had counted LA out for their rebound season, but the GMing and management team had other plans. Despite not being able to retain every single player from the infamous finals series roster, the team was able to retain most of it's core, while adding some tremendous players to boot. Now 16 games in, the team is sitting in 2nd of the NA conference with a 12-4 record, while leading the league in a positive goals for/against tally. The rally seems to be going smooth and the team looks to continue to bring their full effort the whole course, attempting to bring it back to the finals once again. LA has a lot of work to do here however as they are limited in "future" assets and will likely be forced into a retool/rebuild in the very... very near future.... or will they?
  4. Little late but... better than never so they say! Going to make this short, yet sweet, kinda... Our captains for the season are....... @Gustav Art Vandelay as ASSSSSISSTANT CAPTAIN #1. Our goalie, our rock between the pipes, and a player that has been with us their whole career and committed again this season, felt it was about time we put a letter on your jersey. @JetsGoalie101 Sunglasses Joyo as ASSSSSISSTANT CAPTAIN #2. One of the backbones of LA for many seasons now, it's only fitting that you finally get your time in the limelight for the team. Thank you for all you've done for LA thus far! AANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD THE CAPTAIN! We've had some amazing captains over the seasons, and they've all done an absolutely incredible job. It is my great pleasure to take the next step... @KRZYTood Cooke... where do I begin. You trusted me from the get-go with Cooke, you've been my AGM for many seasons now, and you've been one of the most crucial pieces of LA. While you've worn the A many times before, it is finally your time to lead the troops to war. Wear it with pride, wear it with honour and most importantly... wear it while we try to win the cup! Thanks team
  5. A big momentous occasion this off-season as Theo Allard's next chapter begins in the VHL, however it was double the fun as Allard actually got the satisfaction of partaking in two different drafts to find out where his current home would be this season (VHLE) as well as his upcoming home when he turns pro in the VHL. First actually came the VHL draft (which was kinda random for order sake) to which Allard 'fell' down the list quite a bit, eventually landing with his great friend @FrostBeard and the DC Dragons. Never having the pleasure of actually playing for DC or even having an association to DC, Allard really took this as a fun little challenge, and also is allowing his team to put a lot of faith in him to be one of the future 'stars' on the team. As for his present team, the VHLE draft was just as funky, howver Allard ended up going to the team that had about 3/4 of the picks, in Cologne. Unfamiliar with the team, despite having had his agent oppose Cologne while he GM'd for Rome way back when, this was going to be another fun task where Theo has one full year to showcase all of his talents, and hopes to do so in a huge way.
  6. 1. Who do you think should be Captain and Alternate Captain's of the Cologne Express this season? Whoever the team picks honestly, should be a voted thing for sure. Marchand seems to be a consensus 2. What are the goals you've set for your player this season? Honestly... succeed in any way possible. I do not intend to stay in the VHLE long, so in my short time I'd like to just tear it up. 3. What has surprised you the most and least about your player since creating him? Most surprised? Being picked where I was, I thought I had a bit more carry but I guess not. Least surprised? Also where I was picked lol 4. Who do you think our biggest rivals will be this season? Whoever else is going for the cup because... that's ours for the taking. 5. Who is your favourite NHL team and how do you think they are doing this season? Anaheim Ducks, and sneakily the team is off to one of the hottest starts that I can remember, really hope this is a breakout year. 6. Who is winning the rocket this season in the NHL? Auston Matthews, and I hate saying that, but it's just my guess right now.
  7. Unfortunately due to a rulebook "blunder" shall we call it, and a misunderstanding on my part, I had to clear a measley 500k in cap. Really not enjoying having to move someone who has been so committed in @Otaznik and it's been an absolute pleasure to have you on the team, what a run we had! I am however very excited to be bringing in @Webberj for our cup run, so lets see how this goes! @Banackock as always, thanks for the SUPER easy dealings.
  8. It's not every day, that you get to do something special for a friend in the league, however this moment for me, has been a few seasons in the making. To give a bit of backstory here, I've had the absolute pleasure of knowing said member for many, many years now. We've played alongside one another as teammates several times, and even had the honour of GMing against one another at every level of the game (M, E and VHL). When I became LA GM in S83 (crazy it's already been 7 seasons...), I never knew I'd have the opportunity to obtain my good friend, and go on some awesome playoff runs with them, however in S85 after a short rebuild, I got my chance. The trade that I made was critizied as an overpayment at the time, however there was never a regret in my mind and that doubt further left my head in S87 when he would go on to win both MVP and the goals scoring title, cementing his legacy in LA. With 5 seasons played for the club, and 360 games played, this player catapulted into the top 5 for total points and lead the team as captain for several seasons before his retirement. It is with great honour, and pleasure that I present to you today, our latest jersey retirement.
  9. I don't like losing... after being swept in the finals, got the team to commit coming back for another run, and now I add to that already outstanding core. @TheNeonShaman couldn't have asked for a more loyal and amazing player during your time with LA. I thank you so much for being with us and I do hope that life gets less busy for you, and you can thrive in Riga! @RileyL A huge piece to the puzzle for LA, if this is going to be our last run for a little bit, I figure why not make it our best? Let's have some fun! Shoutout to @hedgehog337 for the quick & easy chats
  10. 1. The regular season is finishing up soon? How do you feel about your performance this season? Really went amazing, while the position isn't what we had hoped for, however individually I am so happy! 2. Who has been the greatest overachiever or underachiever in the VHLM thus season? I don't really think there was much of an over/under achiever that I can personally pinpoint.. 3. What is one positive that you can take from this season? As greedy as it is, my huge individual performance. I had a crappy midseason year last year, this was a big year for me. 4. What team would you look foward to playing in the playoff? Knowing who we played, anyone but San Diego haha, getting swept sucked... 5. Who is you way to early pick to win the Stanley Cup? I'd say either Ottawa or Colorado 6. Do you plan on going out to enjoy the fall colors? If so, where? Beautiful provincial parks all around me here where I live in Ontario. Going to be doing a lot of trail walks with the wife & kids.
  11. 1. We have finally hit some winning form. How critical has finding a goaltender has been to our season? It's been absolutely critical, we're winning so many more games now, slowly but surely pulling out of the bottom, and could even fight for a late playoff spot! 2. Who has been the best foward so far in the season? For the team? Has to be Rohnson, constantly in big plays, getting us some crucial points when we need them. 3. Who has shown the most toughness out of anyone on the team? Canet du Bocage has to be the most gritty player on the team. Never afraid to toss the body, or take the body. But if you hit him? Expect to be hit back! 4. Who in the VHLm has surprised you the most? Honestly... Mexico City. Their team on paper looks impressive and quite deep. A full roster even, yet they are having to claw tooth and nail to try and make the playoffs, I expected much more from that roster! 5. How do you feel about some of the changes the Board of Governors have discussed? I'm... optimistic of some favourable changes that will only help better the league and improve it for the long run. 6. How did you enjoy your Labor Day weekend? Had an excellent weekend, spent it with the family, had a great little "staycation" with them and got blessed with some gorgeous weather.
  12. From last week to this week, the LA Stars continue riding the 'win' wave, something they have longed in the past few seasons now. While LA is no stranger to having winning seasons while under my tenure, this season so far... is the hottest it's ever been, and it just doesn't stop. LA is now coming off a 5 game winning streak, and is now 9-1-0 in their last 10 games played. Amazingly, LA also holds some of the top players in the league, with Cooke, Lampi, Vandelay & Dynamite being among the 'elite', and superstar players such as Murray, Joyo, Puk and more assisting along the way. We also cannot forget their crucial role players, McKeggegger and Rage specifically helping carry so much of the weight, along with Lekman who has been surprisingly holding their own on the defensive side of things. LA has been trying so hard to get to this point, where wins come frequently and the team is stable, however there is still over 35 games to be played, and more or less exactly half of the season remaining, and while the first half has been smooth, how we finish will determine not only our playoff standing, but also the rest of the future for the playoffs as well, we could end up facing an 8 seed, or we could end up in the middle. Truly time will tell for this team if the next 35, look as good as the first 35 did.
  13. The LA Stars have had quite the... journey to say the least through the league the last few seasons. While many of the seasons went fairly well during the regular season, all seemingly would come crashing down during the playoffs. However the Stars have not had this hot of a start in ages, and the regular season is looking very promising to bring some new light to the playoffs as we inch closer and closer to that time. While everyone during the off-season was counting out the team, it was their latetime trades that would end up allowing the season to unfold the way it has. Forwards Dynamite and Puk, both acquired from the Americans have shown extreme promise, with Dynamite leading the league in points, and Puk actively playing a two-way role from the second line. And their other trade for defender Lampi has proven to be even as successful, with Lampi blowing his previous seasons performances out of the water, flourishing into a top 5 defender in the league. Overall, this season has been really fun for both the team and the players, and we're still so early on. LA is looking to bring this momentum deep, even going as far as saying this could be... the year.
  14. 1. I know things haven't gone to plan. But we have recently added some waiver player who should be an important part of any future success. How do you feel about the team going foward with these new players added in? So far so good tbh, we've had a nice few sims, including our first ever 2-0 of the season which was huge. While IDK how much of a comeback we'll have, it'll be nice to win some more games. 2. Do you believe that our new waiver players are ready for the spotlight? Looks like they are, especially Shaun haha, we needed a goalie SO bad, so this was a huge addition and has helped immensely. 3. How do you feel about the early VHLM standing? If I'm honest, only being in the VHLM one season I am slightly disappointed not to be successful more, both on the standings and individual player side, but I'm doing my best to enjoy it! 4. What is the coolest titem you currently own? Probably my car honestly. Got it in honour of my grandfather, 1966 Mustang. Had it rebuilt earlier this year. 5. You are hosting a team dinner. What do you serve? Buffett of some kind for sure, maybe like a surf & turf? I'm sure that would go over well! 6. What does the league need to do about these disruptive spam bots? 2FA or something, even maybe implementing a pattern or like whatever they use nowadays to deter bots.
  15. After a lengthy team vote, our captaincy and assistant captaincy for S90 has been decided. Former MVP and longstanding member @FrostBeard last held the honour for captain, now we must see who was voted in.... ASSISTANT CAPTAIN #2 ASSISTANT CAPTAIN #1 and now... CAPTAIN A big thanks to the team in making this vote fun, and successful and congratulations again to the three of you. I am so proud to have this leadership team as part of LA for S90, and cannot wait to see the impact you all have on and off the ice.
  16. As always, quick & super easy talks @Spartan really appreciate it! LA adds our 6th forward, really going to bolster that second line for us and help add that much needed depth for the playoffs. @MrMom lets get it going!
  17. Whirlwind of an off-season, at one point I thought LA may need to re-tool but a deal came along and worked itself out, and it pretty much saved the season lol. @Otis Boudreaux Jr Really hate losing you. When I draft a player, I want to keep them as long as possible, but when it came down to competing vs not competing with the existing roster, I had to make that tough call. I know you'll do HUGE things in NY! @Lucas anton Another prospect/player I really didn't anticipate moving, but when everyone else began stacking their rosters, I had no choice but to make drastic changes. Hopefully your time in LA is fulfilling! --- @thadthrasher Thank you again for the trade, and @McWolf too, AGM's don't get enough credit but both of you worked hard to work with me and get this done. Thad, I am also very excited to have Dynamite on the roster. @Otaznik Also extremely excited to bring you into LA, a huge piece for us moving forward, going to be a thrilling season here
  18. NAME: THEO ALLARD BIRTHPLACE: NARSAQ, GREENLAND RESIDES IN: PARIS, FRANCE HEIGHT: 6'3 WEIGHT: 175LBS POSITION: CENTER/WINGER PREFERRED HANDEDNESS: RIGHT BIOGRAPHY --------------- You're reading the history of Theo Allard for the first time and your very first question happens to me... a Frenchman born in Greenland, one of the smallest populated countries in the world, now residing in his parents home country of France, and you ask yourself... how? Why? What happened? Well... this is the story of how Theo Allard was born into the world in a very unexpected circumstance. Allard's parents, both young at the time, in their mid 20's enjoying a luxurious time away in Greenland were going sight seeing for a week, a full exursion around much of Greenlands beautiful scenery. Unbenounced to Theo's mother, Amelia, she was pregnant, but wasn't showing any signs or symptoms of the pregnancy, in fact she also hadn't gained any weight at all, looking 'normal' to her figure. As they continued their sight seeing, suddenly Amelia felt very sick, compeltely consumed by naustious tendencies and fatigue. Her husband (and Theo's father) Marc -Edouard immediately knew something was off, as Amelia had been fine the days and nights prior, and just had that 'gut feeling' that he needed to do something. Right away, he got Amelia into a cab and they rushed to the local hospital. On their way however, Marc-Edouard looked down horrified in what he was seeing... fliud everywhere, all over Amelia and because of the lack of pregnancy info, he nearly fainted himself upon the sight. Once they arrived, Amelia was whisked away while being asked a million questions, still not fully coheirent, so Marc-Edouard was able to join alongside and try to answer questions. The first big one out of the nurses mouth was "is your wife pregnant" to which he just shook his head in disbelief, answering "no... at least not that I am aware of". To his surprise... 10 hours later, he would be holding a healthy, fully termed baby boy, and his wife would once again come around to her normal, healthy self, still in disbelief of how everything occurred. Due to being born in Greenland, Theo became a citizen legally of the country, but since his parents were not from there, they now had to apply to get him dual citizenship back to France, where they are from. This process was long, difficult and full of paperwork, but 2 weeks later, the embassy approved, and they were on their way home with a bundle of joy they had no clue... was even coming. The days that followed this crazy event were very simple, yet elegant as the Allard family was introduced to their 'mystery baby' with warm welcomings and many happy tears being shed by family members who were not prepared for the news. Theo seemed to be in amazing hands however one thing was certain, his parents being as young as they were had no clue what they were going to do to help raise him. With soem guidance from family, mostly the parents of the young couple, they began getting him the best care, ensuring he is fed to the fullest and given all of the luxuries in life a baby needs to grow up successfully with no concerns. Days became months, months became years before eventually, Theo was around 4 1/2 and getting ready to go to school for the first time (outside of day care of course). It would be at school, that he would become friends with a very nice young man, by the name of Julien Huet... and yes that name sounds familiar because he is none other than the grandson of former NHL goalie Cristobal Huet. As the two became closer and closer, Julien taught Theo how to skate, alongside some help from his grandfather Cristobal and the Huet family. Theo thoroughly enjoyed learning how to skate, and while hockey was not huge in France, it was big enough that Theo was introduced to this also. This would go on for many years, until Theo got very into hockey, but had no one really to play with outside of some local friends who would come to the rink. Theo would make videos which would end up being picked up by ESPN, Sportsnet, etc all the big social channels for sports, and one thing lead to another, and he was asked by the VHLM to come stay in North America with a 'host' family, to tryout for a team to see if he'd be successful in the North American Market. At first, his family was hesitant but they were reassured that there is nothing but positives that can occur. The Allard's agreed, and the rest is history. Theo is now here, in North America, having half a season of VHLM experience under his belt, with a draft looming on the horizon. His future will be bright, and in the hands of the VHLM GM's. Word Count: 827 words.
  19. The LA Stars have made the playoffs consistently for the last few seasons now, however have never found success beyond the early rounds. This season LA had made it clear via some deals and via re-signing their big stars that they would compete, and be all-in for a top tier performance, however it's been clear that as of late... some of their plans may have come to a complete hault. Upon speaking to their GM, some insights into this possible de-railment have been shed. "We're trying as hard as we can on the management side to get this team up in the rankings. When discussing with my colleagues, everyone and their mothers is planning to compete. The whole EU is apparently wanting to compete, as is the NA other than a few who have committed to their rebuild. It's going to be an interesting season, as everyone is full of confidence in their teams, but not everyone can be the top dog. We're going to do our best here to hold onto a playoff spot long enough to outlast the others and pick 'em apart, asset by asset." Some huge words being thrown around with some big promises to boot. The big question is, can LA actually outlast the other competitors?
  20. 1. It is the off-season, what are your plans? Preparing for the draft at this point, getting some off-season training done in the hopes to boost my ranking 2. What are your thoughts on last season? I joined Mexico late and had a lot of fun, playoffs were sad only because I felt we had the ability to go deep and got swept out a little early 3. I know most people dont read books as much as they used to, but if you would recommend 1 book, what would it be? I read mostly in school, high school in particular, and To Kill A Mockbird to this day is still a must read for anyone who is into the thriller type books 4. Involved in any off-season tournaments? I haven't been pinged for any, so as of yet, no. 5. Favorite pro-sports player? Hockey wise will always be Ryan Getzlaf, but athlete from any sport, I'd go with Kobe Bryant from the Lakers. I was absolutely devestated when he passed the way he did.
