  1. @Pifferfish Really excited to have you join LA, I think with a few more trades, this team will be hitting the ground running towards competition. As for @CrlineDijohn14 didn't get to talk since you have been missing, but if you do come back, hopefully it'll be to enjoy time in CGY. @Ricer13 @Banackock always easy to work things out with the both of you.
  2. One of the most nerve-wracking times for a prospect is draft day. Theo Allard is another name on the big board who really has no clue what is going to happen with him and where he is going to go. His time in Mexico City did not really end how he would like, and part of Theo's mentality is now that teams may look at that mediocre performance, as a negative. While Theo is max earning, and practicing weekly at the highest pace possible, part of that mindset is still creeping up with him. Regardless though, Theo is putting on a brave face, and going through it with a smile as he just wants to make the best impression possible for his new potential team. Come the actual day of the draft, teams can expect a whole new Theo, who says he will be "ridding" himself of all the bad that happened during the season, and will be coming in fresh and clear.
  3. 1. What do you think the team needs to improve on next season? As GM, I think right now our forward core is it. We need some help there the best. 2. What player do you expect to improve the most next season? Cooke becomes first line with Sunglass, I think those two thrive together personally 3. Do you think any players will jump in the draft? Going to be tough to say, the draft is all over the place with teams having multiple picks, could see some jumps based on teams needs 4. If you could would you changed the amount of capped TPE we are allowed to earn? I think for anyone that WANTS to earn more, why not? Realistically it makes it so there are true "elite" players above and beyond the norm. Everyone right now is on an even playing field, but IRL is McDavid the same as say... a 4th line player? No. 5. Do you think the VHLE going back to 6 is a good idea? From what I've been told, it 100% seems like the best case scenario to help the E thrive, so I'm all game for it. 6. Do you pay attention to the M or the E or just the bigs? Being in the M, I absolutely pay attention to it, and I'll be in the E. The E has a big part of my 'heart' in the league as a first-ever GM there.
  4. 1. It's time! Playoffs. All we work for during the regular season. How are you feeling? Was feeling pretty good for a bit there until we lost. Really sad to see us go out the way we did 2. After the first couple of sims, we sit 1-1. What's the key to beating the Hounds? We didn't beat them... sadly. I really wish we had, but the sims had better plans for us. 3. What makes this group a serious contender for the Founder's Cup? I think we had the "on-paper" appeal however its clear that in the sims we were just not meant to win it all. Damn Simon... 4. Houston is down 0-2 as a major favorite. Will they turn it around? I have to be honest, I didn't pay a single ounce of attention to the other games, no clue even to this day how they went LOL 5. Who do you think will win the Continental Cup? Biasly rooting for NYA as my (now) retired player is on there as the goalie. Hoping he wins one cup as his final hoorah. 6. What was the dumbest thing you witnessed in a restaurant? Someone screaming at the waiter for certain things being on their bill, then finally admitting they 'forgot' they ordered that... pure idiocy.
  5. Theo Allard joined Mexico just after the trade deadline and had not made much of an impact, still to this time of speaking, his impact on the team was nothing significant. That being said, Allard knew that his 'biggest picture' moment would come in the shape of the upcoming draft that is likely only weeks away while the playoffs continue and get closer to the off-season. Theo has not been contacted by any of the teams yet, though still possibly early and also having an agent who is a... 'experienced' user, may mean that he may not get too many inquiries, however he's going to let his work ethic speak for itself. Theo is very happy to be among some of the top elite draftees and knows its going to take a lot of emotional toll and effort to really do anything worthwhile for himself. All he can do now is wait for the time his name gets called, and then go meet his new team.
  6. Kings Press Conference 1. The season is officially over. How do you feel overall mexico preformed this season? - I joined lately but thoroughly feel the season went good. I know we had some bumps after adding myself and some other later newcomers, but overall I felt the season went smooth and now the playoffs look bright. 2. What do you think will be the most important thing for Mexico to have a successful playoff run? - Consistency really. It'll be hard losing one game 5-0 then winning another 4-3. We need to find our rythym, outscore the opposition and take off like a jet. 3. If you had to pick a MVP from the season who would it be? Why? - The whole damn team of course, ain't no one claiming that solo 4. What do you think is the most underrated attribute? Why? - Probably strength honestly... a lot of people don't realize but, if you want to keep possession... you need to be strong enough to not get bodied off the puck... 5. What do you feel is your players biggest strength? How will that contribute to our success in playoffs? - Right now I am not really doing much offensively, so I'd say my defensive play and my face-off ability on the third line will help us go deep! 6. Who is your dream dinner guest? - Sports wise, Ryan Getzlaf or Teemu Selanne, but just overall, it would be Kevin Costner
  7. We've had our immense differences with one another, but I'm genuinely happy for you, and what you could achieve with Chicago. Congrats on an awesome tenure and good luck with whatever life has in store for you.
  8. PLAYER NAME: THEO ALLARD BIRTHPLACE: GREENLAND POSITION: CENTER HEIGHT: 6'3" WEIGHT: 182LBS SHOOTS: RIGHT CURRENT TEAM: MEXICO CITY KINGS DRAFT ELIGIBLE: YES SCOUTING REPORT: The young Theo Allard hails from Greenland, more specifically the city of Narsaaq that is home to roughly only 1300 people, including all of his immediate family. There is not much to do in Greenland other than go on the ice, to skate around, to play hockey or just to pass time, so from a very young age, Theo's parents were teaching him how to skate, and that passion and fascination became learning the rules and the abilities of hockey. At first, Theo really didn't like the sport, it just wasn't his cup of tea and he resented his parents for forcing him into participating, however as he grew older he began to appreciate the sport, and because his resentment turned into excitement, his skills only got better and his dedication to the sport brought him to the present day. So just how good is this young player? Let's take a look! FACE-OFFS: We look at Theo's face-off ability and it's worth noting that he has been focusing on winning face-offs since he was just a young lad. Theo is very good with his hand-eye and can see the motion coming from a mile away when the ref is about to drop the puck. This talent will help him as he continues to improve the skill and should help with reliability when it comes to his growth through the league. You should be able to use him on the PP, PK no problem and have extra opportunities created solely due to him. SCORING: While some teams may be looking for that playmaker-type player, Theo has made it his sole mission to score on his opponents as much as possible, and so you will see his scoring become the forefront of his skills. Should it be concerning that he is only focusing on scoring? Not really says many scouts, as he will slowly but surely be creeping some practice time into his passing play abilities, it just will not be his main focus. Do not be concerned, he will still move the puck around, and he will still ensure to make those epic plays, however he will look to be on the receiving end of finishing the play and attempting to pot the puck. SKATING/SPEED: Another main focus here for Theo is his speed and his ability to skate near-flawlessly. Whether its turning a tight corner, or trying to backcheck on the ice, Theo is confident in his ability to skate both forwards and backwards to be able to play that two-way game. He will be reliable when attempting to make an offensive play and will also be reliable when attempting to shutdown the opposition in any way necessary. There should be little to no opportunities created by Theo that go unnoticed in this instance, and you will be thankful to have him backchecking for you on a possible breakout, he will beat that other player on the ice 10/10 times. ----- WORD COUNT: 516
  9. Another VHL birthday to be apart of! Can't believe it's 16... I feel old. Claiming the Triple
  10. 1. Trade deadline has come, gone, and we haven't made any moves. Does this prove how good this group is? Sometimes when you don't need to make moves, it's because it's simply not necessary. This roster is very, very good on paper. 2. Instead, the team has been active with the incoming waivers. How important are these mid-season additions for our championship push? Being one of the waiver pick-ups I'm very bias, but I think having that depth is going to be huge come playoff time, when we're actually usable. 3. This S91 Draft Class is shaping up to be next level. How many will make the VHL? I'm going to say the first two rounds have a possibility of all becoming VHLers at this rate. 4. Greenland has been very active with bureaucracy with hopes of having a great National Team. Will they do it? Again, totally bias as I am one of the one's attempting to bring great things to Greenland, so the very obvious answer is... yes 5. Who will upset Philadelphia in the playoffs? Us, there is no doubt about it, if we face-off for the cup, they're going down. Confidence is key in a massive matchup like this one. 6. Three hours ago, what were you doing? Sleeping, it's early, and I worked late, so I was happy in bed, now I'm miserable back at work, go figure eh?
  11. Good with me amigo! I’m flexible lol
  12. Fairly simple deal here, I refuse to run <6 forwards, with trading Nezuko we had a hole to fill. This worked out nicely where a piece we acquired is just being moved out immediately to gain that 6th F. Thanks for the very simple talks @KaleebtheMighty and best of luck for the remainder of the season
  13. Not a trade I ever expected to be making, but with loss after loss comes the realization that the future of LA needs to be more considered than the present, and as @Baozi knows, being in his final year, he simply won't be here beyond this year. After a very lengthy back and forth, we all felt (all parties) that this was your best final hoorah shot, and I'm happy to give it to you. Nothing but love, and thanks @thadthrasher for the easy back & forth discussions.
  14. Player Information Username: InstantRockstar Player Name: Theo Allard Recruited From: Returning Age: 18 Position: C Height: 75 in. Weight: 188 lbs. Birthplace: Greenland Player Page @VHLM GM
  15. Never thought I'd bring LA to a position to have to make these kind of moves, but with being lower than I'd ever like to be in the standings, something has to give. I'm very happy with the users we have on LA, so this is nothing against the players we're giving away, just needing a shake-up to figure things out in LA. CONDITION APPLIES TO TRADE: *Should LA get top 2 via lotto in S90, their pick will defer to S91 with NO conditions or stipulations *Should DC get top 2 via lotto in S91, their pick will defer to S92 with NO conditions or stipulations I want to thank @FrostBeardfor making this such an easy and smooth deal, and having both teams interests in mind.
  16. Captains for the team were chosen among the LR! And are as follows: A1 - @KRZY (Todd Cooke) A2 - @Dabnad (Dabnad Shaw) AND THE CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPTAIN... @FrostBeard (Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems)
  17. 1. LA was unsuccessful in the playoffs last season, what changes this season? 2. How was our draft with arguably one of the top defensemen dropping to our 8th OA pick? 3. Will LA ever find a backup goalie? 4. How do you expect your player to perform? 5. What is your pre-game ritual? 6. Are you a pre-game foodie? or only after the game?
  18. @youloser1337 I brought you into LA for a reason, your presence as a user, and your ability to maintain as a user were huge for us. I was so glad to see the success you were able to find while here and I genuinely appreciate it all. Only wish good things and big things for you in Seattle. @Banackock Thanks for always making the talks as smooth & easy as possible, it's why you're one of the longest reigning GM's around, you do it right.
