  1. After Houston, Mississauga, and Malmo, this will be the first expansion I'm not part of. Congrats to our new GMs!

Now that Malmo isn't exempt, you never know what could happen

  2. My favorite part of this is that it's a VHL.com article rather than a thunderdome post or something
  3. 1. What's the most obscure trivia question that you believe you've ever asked? 2. Going off that, what's the most obscure VHL-related spreadsheet you've got access to? 3. What's the best draft pick you've ever made? 4. ...and what's the worst draft pick you've ever made? 5. I've noticed that you never upgraded Pavlov's face-off rating--were you planning to switch his position all along, or simply keeping the possibility open? 6. Cast, while right up there in terms of points, has a fairly extreme lack of defensive numbers. Is this a concern, or is it something you're fine with?
  4. "The Victory Hockey League (VHL) is an ice hockey simulation forum that anybody can enjoy. You don't even need to be an ice hockey fan! It's super easy to start and begin playing. All you have to do is create an account, and then choose what position you want your player playing. You can choose between goaltender, defenseman, left wing, right wing, and centerman. After you're done creating your player, you start off with 30 TPE to use. You're probably wondering, what is "TPE?" TPE is a virtual currency you use to upgrade your player's attributes. You get several attributes you can put your TPE into. Before you use your 30 TPE, make sure you know what type of player you want to build . Your build could be anywhere from a power forward to an offensive defenseman, the possibilities are truly endless. TPE is earned by doing point tasks which could be anywhere from a graphic to writing a VHL-related article. After the beginning, you will be put through the task of entering the VHLM (Victory Hockey League Minors) draft. Your potential destination can be anywhere, you'll just have to wait and see. Once you get drafted by a VHLM team, you will be able to communicate with your team's GM. Your GM will help you get situated, and will make sure you become a hardworking, successful player throughout your VHLM career. (NOTE: Player simulations are simulated through a simulation engine) Once you get drafted by a VHLM team, you get to play there for one year and then get drafted by a VHL team. Also don't worry, you can play in the VHLM for 2 years to develop your player even more. Once you reach the VHL, you get to do a lot of the things you'd do in the National Hockey League (in real life professional ice hockey league). You can get traded, become a free agent, discuss a contract with your GM, and become a freaking legend. You need to come on this journey immediately because you're definitely missing out on an enjoyable experience! https://vhlforum.com/" -Mohandas Gandhi
  5. Taking down Helsinki in style! I like it. I think Garcia's penalty shot rating of 41 warrants some placement in the shootout, but it's a win nonetheless. #fixthelottery
  6. At least the shot differential was nice...just a good game from Davison. #fixthelottery
  7. For the week ending 8/18... 1. Some noteworthy names have recreated (or even reappeared) this season after the deadline--Beaviss, omgitshim, and STZ, to name a few. All three went to Philadelphia, a team with a good shot at the cup. Do they, in your opinion, have the time that they need to develop into significant players for their team, or are they simply too far behind as far as this season is concerned? 2. If you've seen the "unban boubabi" discussion around the site, do you have an opinion? If so, what is it and why? 3. What's your favorite band that I've never heard of? 4. What's your favorite sport that isn't hockey? 5. If you were a GM, what kind of strategy would you go for? Anything that would make the way you would run a team unique? 6. All of you are (or at least have been, at some point) free agents. What advice would you give to someone who enters the league after the draft and has to sign with someone? @HanManHimself @Vuuna Haaka @Banana2311 @Jwarner0722 @maximlab @chrissyl93 @Liberty_Cabbage @Radcow @BaReZ_Regrets @GlowyGoat @elrune1988 @TukTukTheGreat @Telkster
  8. Nominating everything @Renomitsu and @Tagger have ever written.
  9. Claiming for the week ending 8/18. Might have a big one coming next week though.
  10. Can't expect to win when you're being outshot 49-26. The score reflects this, for sure, but it's nice to see our goalie hanging in there and keeping things (proportionally) even. #fixthelottery
  11. No, Jerry. Stop not blocking shots. #fixthelottery

  16. HALIFAX--With rumors of Satanic activity abound in Halifax, investigative journalism is on the rise, with its far-reaching presence recently extending to even the most recent signings. On Wednesday, a national reporter inquired about such matters at a press conference held for recent signing Jerry Wang, in an attempt to gain exclusive insider knowledge from a newcomer's perspective. Wang had this to say: Yeah, I've heard all the stories, but I'll tell you right now that all that is just propaganda. I know things have seemed to point to Satan and all that dark stuff, like the goat sacrifice or the effigy burning and everything, and I know even I haven't done a whole lot to demonstrate activity contrary to that image, what with all the purple eyeliner and the hair dye, but there's really nothing like that going on here. We're a nice, professional hockey team, and I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. Wang's comments, on paper, seem to potentially have the ability to diffuse some of the tension surrounding the team's reputation, though video of the press conference shows otherwise--throughout the event, Wang could be seen producing a small dagger and using it to slowly slice open the back of his left hand, upon which the shape of a pentagram was clearly visible by the time the conference was up. When further inquiries were made about the situation, Wang, along with Halifax players and management, declined to comment. @ColeMrtz21 hi

  20. I'm slipping farther and farther away from that shot block lead with every game recently. Damn you New York defensemen. #fixthelottery
  21. Wonderful time for Jerry to go nonexistent. #fixthelottery
  22. To anyone whose player I looked at and said "this is going to be hard to spell"...I take it all back. Thank god for the character limit.
