  8. Defenz Mann - D 6'3" 220 LBs. Age: 19 France Entering the Season 71 VHLM Dispersal Draft, there were zero expectations for Defenz Mann. Mann, a young defenseman, is hoping to crack a VHL roster one day. The VHLM Draft came and went, but it wasn't until round three with overall pick 24 that Mann was selected. That didn't stop him from having an incredible season. A quick recap of his minor season includes leading the league in plus/minus, fifth in assists, fifth in points for a defenseman, and a Founder Cup victory. Pros: Offensive Talent - Mann showed everyone this season that his most significant strength is his offensive ability. Even though he plays defense, he is more of a playmaking center on the ice. Also, Mann knows what to do with the puck when and has the tools to follow through. He can pass, shoot, and handle the puck with ease. Hockey IQ - Mann doesn't possess the physical hockey ability; he has a tremendous mental understanding of the game. Leading the entire league in plus-minus (rating) is no easy feat. The talent level in the VHLM is at the highest it has ever been. Mann was able to have a +113 in a seventy-two game season. That shows tremendous ability both as an offensive defenseman but also in his zone on defense. Core Strength - Mann has a great shot that comes off his stick with ferocity and accuracy. His skating ability rivals that of more agile/nimbler forwards. He has the right size and balance that makes it difficult to both take him down and the puck away. Mann's unique set of size, agility, and strength make him an intimidating opponent for many. Cons: Physicality - Despite having the physical tools and size to be a bruising defender, Mann rarely uses them. Last season he recorded only 133 hits far below his counterparts. Scouts are certain that this core deficiency in his game will not change even with further coaching. This lack of physicality is also visible in shot blocks. For a defenseman in the minors, he recorded only 97 this season a far cry from his peers. Potential - While Mann did have a top 5 VHLM performance, that doesn't mean it will translate to the VHL. Many players in all professional sports have unbelievable college or minor league performances. That only translates to a professional level for a handful of the lucky and dedicated. Summary: Mann doesn't have the raw ability to become a top-shelf number one defender. His offensive ability has shown flashes to graduate to the pros. If he continues to work hard with the right coaching could be a suitable second-line prospect. Mann will also likely be a power-play asset in the future.
  9. I'll give you poor attitude son!!!
  10. Today we are going to preview the series between the Yukon Rush & Ottawa Lynx. These teams finished 1 & 2 respectfully during the regular season and should be a great matchup in the playoffs. Yukon gave Ottawa some trouble on occasion, including many close one-goal games...Wait, we have some late-breaking news. Is it over? Already? Yukon got smoked and lost in 4 games? Ladies & Gentleman, I must apologize for my intro. I was expecting a close, hard-fought playoff matchup between the future VHL elite. The best the VHLM had to offer going toe to toe in an epic battle of 7 game fury. A story for generations to tell their children and their children's children. Nope, not this time. The Yukon Rush scrubs got smoked by the heroic and mighty Ottawa Lynx. In 4 games, the brooms were out, and it was a clean sweep.

    VHL GM League

    Let's give it a whirl
  12. 1. How would you feel about a new AGM? Good TBH I didn't even know until today that Hogan was the AGM. 2. Whats it like to be champions? It feels pretty darn good. You know what is cooler though? 2x Champions. 3. Where will you be next season? Probably on some other team after Lynx get rid of me. 4. How is your new GM DoktorFunk? We shall see if Lynx don't win back to back then clearly Acyd is the real hero. 5. Have you ever won a championship in another sim league or is this your first? Plenty of em 6. Any questions you want to ask me? Who are you again?
  13. That can still be part of it but this area should be so much more.
  14. Looks like this could be fun I'd like to sign up.
  15. Automatically or do we claim it?
  16. With the portal why is there a different section dedicated to updating the draftee TPE? Everyone can see the same info if they just look on the portal sort by draft class and TPE. A better use of the section would be a more comprehensive analysis of the actual players with the TPE as an afterthought not the main focus. A draftee goes there thinking hey I'm part of say S70 draft maybe there is info about me in there? Then it's just a spreadsheet from the portal. It should probably be a VHL job writing articles doing mock drafts and analysis on past drafts for busts vs steals and etc.
  17. Still giving out free TPE to VHLM for performance? I thought I read last offseason keeping that but capping at 10 instead of 20?
  18. If 2nd is DQ everyone should move up a spot right ?
