Going to start my own VHL Super League where only the Chicago Phoenix and Vasteras Iron Eagles are allowed to play. Each team will be paid 3 billion dollars

1. These questions are going up on a Wednesday; are you generally good about not procrastinating, or are you the type that gets everything done in the last minute? No way, I procrastinate all the time. I guess it depends on what I'm working on though, sometimes I get the inspiration to work on something earlier - but if it's work, it's usually done in the last minute. That was true for me throughout college. 2. What's your drink of choice? Doesn't have to be alcoholic, but it can be. I don't drink alcohol very often but if I do, I guess I'd go with a Corona. If it's non-alcoholic that's a tough decision because there's a lot more to choose from. I like flavored lemonades, I had a blackberry lemonade recently that was good and the peach lemonade at Wendy's is nice too. I might go with a smoothie too, if that counts. I mostly drink water though to be honest. 3. Chicago's been at roughly .500 for the last handful of games, what do you think we need to change to get back to form? Stop allowing so many shots on goal. Or at least JPC needs to play better in net, I feel like we let in too many goals in general. 4. What the hell is Warsaw doing this year that's making them so good? I mean they were good last year and now without a strong Moscow team in their conference there's nothing holding them back, plus they've still got a well-built roster. So I think maybe a part of it is them staying strong (maybe even getting better) compared to their competitors. 5. If you could redesign any logo in the league (VHL or VHLM), which would it be and why? What would you do differently? I feel like my answer is pretty obvious here - I don't want to beat a dead horse so I'll try to be brief, I'd redesign Mexico City's logo to be actually accurate instead of dated and stereotypical. Or even just a generic "Kings" logo, that'd be better than what they currently have. On a lighter note, I'd also say Philadelphia and LA are two logos that I'd want to change. 6. It's alternate universe theme week! Which alternate reality would you like to live in most? To be honest I feel like most alternate realities that come to mind from like, movies/TV/books would all be worse to live in than ours. Probably because a fantastic world with no real problems wouldn't make for a very interesting story. (I'm sure there's probably at least one story like that that's interesting, but I can't think of one). I would, however, like to live in an alternate reality where the Vasteras Iron Eagles still exist, and maybe you could be reading a media spot about that sometime soon

1. Who's the best member in the VHL? What makes them the best in your opinion? You can even state the worst member, that was what I wanted to ask anyway The worst member is obviously @JeffD because he is inactive and GMs should be active and writing PTs about their teams every week. I am also deliberately choosing not to name a favorite member so as to maintain my cool and marketable lone-wolf image. (Shut up, stop laughing at me.) 2. What's the best thing you have read or saw on twitter/instagram? I don't really use Instagram. I do use Twitter, but to be honest it's just a neverending scroll for me a lot of the time. So I don't know if I could point to a particular thing. Also I'm too lazy to find something to link here. 3. Who do you think is the favourite among the fans here in Chicago? Elsby surely has to be up there because of the impact he's had coming in as captain in his first season. Probably Mingle as well because of all his seasons as captain too, and Socks for being one of the team's first draft picks. 4. If you got stuck in an elevator and it shakes every 10 seconds, what would you do? Would you have a plan to escape this chaotic madness? Probably not. I'd just panic. I'm not particularly good in stressful situations, normally I just kinda shut down. And the kind of situations I get stressed in are much less dangerous than that so I can't imagine what I'd do there. Who knows, maybe the adrenaline might make me a little more decisive but I wouldn't bet on it. 5. A flat earther came up to you preaching about the flat Earth theory. How would you react? Try to engage as little as possible. Probably give them a lot of "hmm"s and "oh?"s and so on. Pay just enough attention so that it seems like I'm listening but not too much, then hope they tire themselves out or get bored. 6. How many hours do you think gorlab sleeps in a day? I like to imagine he alternates between sleeping no hours one day and 16 the next. 7. With our team having a ton of ageing players. What do you suggest is the next move for us? Gracefully age into the sunset until our core is retired, then we'll all leave and let Jeff rebuild the team on his own this time. See if he can do it without our and Hogan's help. 8. How much white claw is actually in Lidia's body on any given weekend? I'd say it flows through his veins. According to Google there's about 40 liters of blood in the average human so uhh...let's go with that.

That Warsaw game, fucking hell. I have to laugh at the first period. At least there's some nice stats for our forwards!

FrostBeard's Chronicles: "The Worst decision made by GM Blade"
solas replied to FrostBeard's topic in The Thunderdome
they don't just knock, one of em tried to recruit me in the grocery store last month so the point stands, they've adapted and moved past knocking -
1.) Week 1 of S77 is in the books after 15 games the Phoenix sit 2nd in tha NA conference and 5 games over 500, with a record of 10-5-0, what are your feelings about our teams play in the opening week? Not bad. I feel like we could've done better, there are some things we're going to have to work on over the season but at least we've got a solid enough start to build off of. 2.) As defending Continental Cup champions do you feel like there is some added pressure to succeed? Absolutely. If you'd told me before last season that we'd be second in the conference now, I'd be happy with that. But now that we've won a cup, I feel like the standard is higher so we have to build on it. 3.) How do you feel about your personal performance over the first 15 games of the season? Not great honestly. To be fair, I have been banking this season so that could be why but a .906 sv% is disappointing. I was hoping by this point in my career to be competing to be one of the top goalies in the league. But I've had individual success in the past, so it doesn't worry me too much - I'm more concerned with team performance at this point. 4.)Being the one of the new guys in Chicago, everyone on the team has been recommending “Chicago Style” Pizza, which Pizzeria is the best in town ? I would not recommend Chicago style pizza, honestly. Not a fan of deep dish. Go for whatever place has New York style pizza 5.)In a HUGE OT Win over the Rival Toronto Legion saw Robin Winter @Sonnet come in the clutch scoring a hat-trick all within 5 minutes, 3 un-answered goals, tying the game with just 2 minutes left on the clock and the OT Winner 40 Seconds in , what was it like watching this unfold? It was amazing. Giving up four goals (and going down 4-1!) was a bit demoralizing so when Winter not only tied the game but won it early into OT, that was a big morale boost. It's the kind of thing we're going to need if we want to follow up on last season well. 6.) What skill are you focusing on improving the most right now? I mean right now I'm just banking. But I did add a little bit to style control and hand speed in hopes of improving my player a little bit. I would've like to have all of the main four goalie attributes (RB/SC/HS/RT) up to 95 but banking comes first since I don't want to sacrifice future seasons just for a slight update.

1. The season is starting today. How are you gonna wake up and get back to business after a long offseason? Pretty easily. I'm ready and excited. I think we've got a great team here so I'm really looking forward to how this season goes. 2. Time for too early predictions! Who's gonna be the MVP of the season? I picked Landry II for predictions and that's who I'm sticking with for now. I suspect Lahtinen will still do well, of course, but I think the fact that London also has Tonn would make him less "valuable" per se, assuming Tonn continues his performances from last season. 3. If you were lost on an island, who would u bring along and why? Someone who's good at building boats. Or maybe some kind of survivalist. Maybe Bear Grylls? Ideally it'd be someone who does all the work so I can relax, or who can get us off the island and back home. 4. What's one thing that you like but others find overrated? This is a really cool question but also unfortunately one that I do not have a very good answer to. I'm sure there's something but nothing is really coming to my head. 5. Did you know that the Earth has a butt hole? Can u figure out where it is? Is it Indiana? I've heard it might be there. 6. If your could tell your younger self one advice, what would it be? Try to put yourself out there more. It doesn't have to be really big, but just look for small opportunities to be a bit more outgoing or to find places where you could meet new people. Of course, this is advice that I'd have to give myself now as well but I always feel like I missed a lot of opportunities in the past. Maybe it's just a hindsight thing.

It’s been a long ride for the Chicago Phoenix to get to this point, but if you ask many within the team this is just the beginning. Coming off of the franchise’s first-ever Continental Cup in just their fourth season of existence, the Phoenix are now looking to transition to a new phase and go even further than before. Now, the team that was once the underdog darlings of the playoffs are the favorites that everyone will be looking to knock off their pedestal. It’s a new challenge for a team that is still relatively young in many departments. “Going into the next season, we honestly have to approach things in a different way,” says goaltender Jean-Pierre Camus. “Before it wasn’t as much pressure, we knew we’d already made it pretty far considering where we came from. But now all eyes are on us. Now we know that whenever a team plays us, they’re going to be motivated by the fact that we’re the defending champs. We’re going to have to accept that, plan for it, and come in with an adjusted mentality. Before, we could just get away with making the finals or the conference finals, now if we don’t win the cup that’s going to be a disappointment to a lot of people.” Chicago has made some interesting roster adjustments in the offseason, signing forward Jungkok (who had been traded from Malmo the Prague in Season 76) and acquiring defenseman Spencer Elsby from the Helsinki Titans in a trade. At the same time, two members of the original Chicago Phoenix roster in Adam Syreck and Squirrely Dan (Chicago’s top two regular season scorers) have left in free agency due to cap restrictions. The team has also let some of their younger players and prospects - Steve Eso, Yuuto Kira Cloudera, Jordan Tate, Maksym Janikowski - go via trades. How will this affect the Phoenix’s attempt at a repeat championship? Only time will tell.

1. The offseason is coming to a close, what was your favorite downtime activity over the break? Uhhh, waiting for the offseason to end? But honestly I would just say playing FIFA. 2. Were you following the s76 World Cup? How did your team (or the team you supported) fare? I was definitely following, as I believe it was JPC's first world cup, and as you may know Team Mercs went all the way! It was great to follow up a Continental Cup with a World Cup, sadly I don't have the Founder's Cup to finally make the triple gold club but that's just a footnote right now. 3. This offseason bore witness to a number of shakeups throughout the league. Which team do you think is the strongest heading into s77? We're looking really strong, I think. The acquisitions of Jungkok and Elsby are big for us and hopefully we can continue what we started last year. Helsinki looks strong with the signing of Thightrap, London is certainly a team to watch with Tonn and Lahtinen now, and of course Warsaw looks like they're in good position to get back to the finals (and maybe win the cup too). 4. Training camp opened up this week, what do you need to work on most before we hit the ice next season? Banking to fight the eventual losing battle that is depreciation. Time consumes us all in the end, but at least I have a decent amount of money saved up for the player store. To be fair, I haven't been earning while hitting depreciation in a while, so I imagine the 12-point weekly cap makes it easier. But it does make me sad that I can't just update my attributes the same way again. 5. Do you get most of your work done on time, or are you a procrastinator? Why? I mean I feel like the fact that it's Saturday and I'm just now doing my capped earning is a pretty good signifier for what my answer to this question is. But yeah, I'm a procrastinator. Sometimes I just need some time to find inspiration for something, but I need to be reined in by deadlines (or have someone else remind me) because otherwise I'll procrastinate for a loooong time. 6. If you had to choose between cold drinks and warm drinks, which would you choose and why? Cold all the way. I just don't drink hot drinks all that often and am not a fan of coffee.
