My opinion is completely biased. Blade has made the greatest impact in keeping me on this site. When I was struggling to get online and was having a hard time doing the bare minimum, Blade didn’t just sit around and let it happen. Almost daily she would grab my attention in the chat to check on me to make sure I actually enjoyed my experience. She does this with all of the members in her VHLM organization. This is part of the reason why she has players begging to be not only a part of her team, but also active in her locker room. Not to mention multiple promising players have recreated just to stick around for another couple of months. Hell, I’ll probably recreate as well(sorry Calgary but my player got off to a very slow start and I want it to be worth while) because of her. On another note, people want to go to Philly because we’re winning. I thought in real life minor league GMs were rewarded positions in the big league when they win. If Philly wins back to back, you’d be silly not to select her. This is not meant to imply that other applicants aren’t suitable choices.

1-What did you think of the VHLM Draft? Were there any surprises for you? I thought it went tremendously well for us, and I think some other teams found some good players through the draft. Although, I did notice a lot of poor picks midway through the draft. 2- Did you listen to the draft stream? What makes a draft interesting for you? Personally, I like the draft because it’s an important building block to each franchise. It gives fans of each team a chance to get to know their future stars and gives them incentive to watch their development closer than before. 3- S67 is about to start with a Loaded Reaper Roster how do you feel about this? We’re going to win. 4-Guy with the best name on our team and why. I like Flashback because it is kinda different and a name you will 100% remember after a season like the one we’re about to have. I think Bud Knight is funny though. 5-How are you settling in to life in Philadelphia? It’s great, other than the fact that I let Bud stay at my place and he’s completely trashed it. There’s always glass on the floor because he throws his empty bottles at the trash can. 8-What are your personal goals for the season? I’d like to at least double the 39 points I got last season on the third line. Triple would be great, but I don’t think it’s all that easy to score 117 points. 9- What VHLM team do you think will struggle at this point? Everybody but us. -
Red = pizza sauce. I will also post in the competition. I think it has a good chance to win.

7) If you could have created a player of any other position, which position would you have picked and why? Most likely defense. I don't have to worry about contributing points if I play defense. Plus, it's the second most important position in hockey. 8 ) Do you feel there are enough job opportunities on VHLForum? It would be nice for there to be more job openings, but the limited amount makes it pretty competitive, so I'm fine with that. 9) On a scale of 1-10 how important to you was having an active team Discord channel? It helped me get back online when I was losing interest, and it formed a great community within our locker room. 10) How does your player prefer to celebrate after a big win? Celebrate with my teammates, always. 11) If there was a real life brand or product your player would promote, what would it be? Probably a popular hockey brand like CCM since I normally use their gear. 12) What is your top ranked childhood cereal? Cap'N Crunch. -

1. Did you think there would be more or less trades before the trade deadline on Wed. June the 5th? I thought there were a fair amount of trades on the deadline. As many as one should expect. 2. What do you think of the trades? I believe the trades made sense for each team. 3. Something nice you did for one of the New Guys: Anthony Hawk, Matt Tacco, Scotty Big Shotty, Condor Adrienne and Boone Jenton (if you are one of the guys we traded for tell me how the Reapers are doing at making you feel in your new home?) I didn't get to play with Jenton all that much, but I scored off of a pass from him so I guess that counts. 4. Anthony Hawk, Matt Tacco, Scotty BigShotty, Condor Adrienne and Boone Jenton were brought on to help us in our cup goals. Do you think this will help us keep up with the competition? Who do you see being our biggest asset? I envision that they will help us greatly down the stretch, and make the biggest impact with depth scoring in a long playoff series. I don't think I could say one will contribute more than the others. 5. The Minnesota and Philadelphia trades caused a lot of controversy, do you feel like that was warranted? I think they helped us get to where we are now, and hopefully add the finishing touch as we go into the playoffs. I'm not opposed to giving away a couple top picks to get more players that have the opportunity to grow after the draft. 6. Are you excited to know that the Reapers clinched a playoff spot? I'm thrilled. We are where we should've been all season long, on top of the league. -

Posting again because I didn't know you can't use a link more than once to update. 6. Who is the Philly GOAT (Greatest of all Time?) We’ll have to see how we fair in this postseason, as I haven’t done too much research into Reapers’ history. Someone is going to have to step up and deliver us a cup. There’s a chance it could be our GM as well. She’s done a brilliant job going from worst to building a powerhouse in this league. 7. Have you ever sent a text message to the wrong person? (what did you say? and who was it?) My brother got a new phone one time, and I also hadn’t saved my manager’s phone number. So, one day I get a rather unprofessional text thinking it was my brother. Unfortunately, I found out five minutes too late when she responded "why did you just call me an idiot?" 8. What is one thing you refuse to share? My Chick-fil-A. Get your own. 9. If you could make a rule for the Reapers and everyone had to follow it, what would it be? Eat Chick-fil-A before and after every game. 10.What movie completely changes its plot when you change one letter in its title? A Big Flea vs A Big Flee. 11. Using only images pick a teammate and describe how you feel about them. (Tag the teammate lol) An absolute beauty on ice. 12. What set of items could you buy that would make the cashier the most uncomfortable? Probably lingerie and say it's for me as I put it on over my clothes as I walk out. -

#1-6: Ending 6/9/19 #7-12: Ending 6/16/19 1. Who would you ask to help you if your muscles froze up after a workout and you couldn't move? Someone I trust wouldn’t steal my belongings when I’m in pain. Most likely my brother. 2. Name something you gave a nickname to that is work related, what nickname did you give it? My friend and I worked valet at a college, but all we really did was drive guests around campus on golf carts. We decided one day that we’d take tennis balls and hurl them at people for fun when they weren’t looking. We called this the “Boomstick.” If you’re wondering, I have literally no idea how we came up with this name. 3. What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been as part of your hockey career? Florida because that’s the only place I’ve ever played hockey outside of the VHLM. Plus, it’s a great place and I’m grateful I got to grow up there. 4. When you’ve had a bad day, what is the best thing a teammate has done to help you feel better? Probably ordered me Chick-fil-A. That usually does the trick. 5. When you notice a teammate having a bad day what do you do to cheer them up? Get them Chick-fil-A, always works. 6. Who is the Philly GOAT (Greatest of all Time?) We’ll have to see how we fair in this postseason, as I haven’t done too much research into Reapers’ history. Someone is going to have to step up and deliver us a cup. Mitch Marner - (The Maple Leafs are in a tough spot)
zepheter replied to bagelbitesisbae's topic in NHL Discussion
I don’t see a reason why they shouldn’t sign Marner. He’s so young and perhaps hasn’t even reached his full potential. If Dubas lets him go, he’ll be losing ten times as much as he gets back in more ways than just his performance on the ice. Toronto should do whatever they can to get Marner locked in for their future. -

1. How do you think the reapers are doing this season? As expected. We're not winning every game, but we're in the running for first place. 2. At this point and time who would you say our 2 biggest competitors are and why? Ottawa is our primary competitor, as they've given us the most difficulty and currently sit above us in the standings. On the other hand there is Saskatoon. They haven't been as much of a problem for us, but we can't sleep on them. 6. Your one piece of advice for a new member. Don't worry about ice time, it'll come if you earn it. 8. What is the once piece of equipment that would affect your game the most if you were forced to change it? Depending on the severity of the change, likely my skates. It would be like losing a part of my body. 10. Your personal best and goals for the future. So far I haven't really set any personal bests in this league. I'd like to win a few championships though. It would be fitting for us to do that this season in Philly. 11. What do you think of all the neck and neck teams in the VHL? Who will edge out who? It's awesome to see how close all of the teams are this season. I've gotta root for my team in Calgary though. -

Dylan Doyle Age 19 Tampa, Florida Born to Compete Pre-Hockey Doyle was born into a fairly well off family, but that didn’t necessarily mean his path would be easy. Actually, it was quite the opposite. Nineteen years ago, Dylan Doyle and his identical twin brother Shane were born. The odds were already against them, as they were barely even half the size of the average baby at birth, weighing just four pounds each. Due to their lack of physical development, they were put into intensive care immediately, and underwent treatment for jaundice, a disease that can decelerate mental development and cause deafness or cerebral palsy. Because of their poor condition, they were forced to fight for their lives throughout the next month in the hospital. Unfortunately, for the twins, it was only the beginning of their long and hard-fought battle against great odds. Everything was a competition for the brothers, they even fought for nutrients and space within their mother’s womb before they were conceived. Throughout the rest of their infancy they would fight for attention, when they were toddlers they would fight for toys, and all through their adolescence they would work their hardest to best one another in the classroom and in sports. They were best friends, but hated each other. Due to their parents receiving pay raises, they would change schools multiple times, making it difficult to fit in and make new friends, but they had each other. That was sufficient enough for the time being. High School Leading into high school, Dylan had played just about every major sport in North America, including: football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, but this time he wanted something different. He follows most sports fairly well, but had a passion for hockey. Unlike Dylan, Shane never really liked hockey, but followed it because Dylan would have it on television every day. Hockey wasn’t popular in the Tampa Bay Area at the time, and the closest rink was around an hour away, so it didn’t seem ideal to make the commitment to a sport he couldn’t fully commit to. That all changed when his parents moved across the street from the ice rink. This changed their lives for the better. Dylan and his brother practically lived on the ice that summer, taking advantage of every opportunity to acquaint themselves to the game. A month passed, and they were becoming pretty good for the amount of time they’d been practicing. People were noticing, including coaches at Jesuit High School, a nearby private school in Tampa. The twins hadn’t enrolled into a school yet, making this the obvious choice for where they would be in the fall. Although the impression they made on the coaches was notable, it wasn’t quite enough to earn a scholarship of any sort just yet. The freshman team didn’t require a tryout before the practices began in late August. Every day was a dogfight for them, as they were not nearly as experienced as the other players on the team who had been in hockey for years already. This trend continued throughout their entire freshman season, and forced them to be benched every game. It may have seemed to be a wasted season, but it was used to give them time to work on both the fundamentals of the game and their weight. During their sophomore year, they began to take major strides on the junior varsity team, and were finally fitting in and adjusting to the physicality despite their lack of size. They began the season on the fourth line, having beat out half a dozen other kids trying out to play winger. A few games in, Dylan found himself on a hot streak, and was moved up to the third line, where he remained for the rest of the season until his team just missed the playoffs. While Dylan moved on to play for the varsity team his junior year, Shane didn’t make the cut, and was forced to stay down on junior varsity and decided he would stop playing after the season had ended. It was a breakout year for Dylan. Midway through the season, he was moved up to the first line where he had exceptional chemistry with his line mates. Although the first line was making a major impact each game, the team was still young, and didn’t have enough experience to go all the way. They ended up falling in overtime of the quarterfinal. Doyle earned recognition statewide for his extraordinary progress, and received the most improved and most underrated player rewards within his conference. These accolades boosted his confidence going into his senior season, where he put up record point totals in both his conference and at his school, while also leading the league in points by a comfortable margin. Going into the playoffs, they had the best record in their conference, and received a first round bye. Each game Dylan would rise to the occasion, averaging nearly three points throughout the playoffs and destroying every team in their path. They won the State Championship, and Doyle was voted the undisputed Playoff and League MVP. During his academic career, he was able to sustain a 3.8 GPA while also taking honors classes all four years. Professional At this point, Doyle was eighteen had his sights set on the VHL. Instead of playing juniors or college hockey, he decided to take a gap year to address his size and fine-tune his skills. By the time the VHLM season was about three quarters of the way through, Doyle had worked with some of the best coaches in the United States to prepare him for professional hockey. Doyle finally received his chance to prove himself in the league when he signed with the rebuilding Philadelphia Reapers late into the season. Although he didn’t put up stellar numbers by any means, he showed that he can fight through adversity and at times lead by example. When the off-season began, Doyle spent a lot of time with veteran hockey minds to increase his knowledge of the game. After training all summer it was time for the Season 66 VHLM and VHL drafts to commence. As projected, Doyle would go in the late 30’s at 38th overall to the Yukon Rush, but something was wrong. Doyle didn’t feel at home in Yukon, and wanted to go back to Philadelphia where he had promised to deliver them the Founder’s Cup. Shortly before VHL Draft, he was traded from Yukon to Philly for a player and a 3rd round pick. It was also expected that he would go in the 50’s of the VHL Draft when he went 52nd overall to join his current teammate and Captain John Frostbeard in the Calgary Wrangler’s system. The rest of his story is yet to unfold as he and his team prepare for a Founder’s Cup run in the VHLM this season. Post-Hockey Although we all expect Doyle to have a long, fantastic professional career. It will end one day. He once said in an interview that when his hockey career is over he wishes to donate to various hospitals throughout the U.S. to pay for researching methods of supporting infants in intensive care, so that they won’t have to go through the same trouble that he did when he was born. When asked about his career plans after professional hockey, he suggested becoming an analyst for Victory Sports News. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Word count w/out title & paragraph subjects: 1,224 Word count w/ title & paragraph subjects: 1,238 Note: I apologize if this ends up being boring, repetitive, jumpy, etc. I tried to take as much of my unique life story as I could and add a twist to make it a bit more credible and less personal. 1. Best thing in your locker currently? I like to keep my locker clean. So I don't really leave anything in there other than my gear. 2. Our best pregame or post game ritual. We talk about stats then complement each other because we're oddly nice to each other. 3. Your best friend in the Locker Room? I don't really have a best friend. They're all very nice and helpful in their own specials ways. 4. Blade and Jubo are fighting who wins? I'm assuming Blade will threaten to get another AGM... so Blade. 5. With our team colors there are so may options for tape colors you going teal, grey, navy, yellow or red? (or are you doing your own thing?) I normally just use white stick tape on my blade and clear tape on my socks. 7. We just did a vote for a mascot? How do you feel about Blade hiring ice girls? I voted for Steve because he's a rad dude. Now about those ice girls... I plan on being a bit distracted on tv timeouts. -

1-The VHL Draft has happened, were you surprised to see players go to certain teams? I was a bit surprised to see myself go so soon in the draft. There were a lot of players rated higher than me that dropped. I'm just glad I'm on a team and I can't wait to play. 2- We also voted for team captain, what do you think of the way the vote was blind? Would you change that for next season? I wouldn't change a thing. The best way to select a captain is by getting the opinion of the players. 3-Reapers are picking a Mascot this season, how would you narrow down the choices? Similar to a multiple choice question, just eliminate the worst or least practical choices. 4-Who is your new locker room buddy, who are you saving the locker next to you for? I'd really like to put my locker next to Hafkey. He entered the league at the same time as me, and was drafted at the same time as me. It's been a pleasure competing with him thus far, and I'm happy for him that he will be on the second line this season. 5- Why did you pick your jersey number? My favorite number is 5, and the number of this question is 5, that is why I chose 5 to be my jersey number. 9-Team you want to beat the most this season and why? Saskatoon is looking like our toughest competition so far. We really need to make a statement in our first game against them this season. We're going to try our hardest not to pull a Tampa Bay Lightning, and keep our intensity in check throughout the entire season. -
Thanks so much. What I meant by the comparison is simply the style of play. Not necessarily the exact position. I based my profile off the way I actually play so I thought it would be written best if it was authentic.
