  1. Shane didn't feel like having another three goal game.
  2. You all actually thought Vegas stood a chance?
  3. Getting the losing done with now so we can win later.
  4. Close game. A shame it had to end this way.
  5. 1b. I'd love to play for any team, but I've already got some ice time with the Reapers and I like the direction we're headed. 2. Similar feelings to the Reapers, I wouldn't mind joining a building team. It would give me time to develop my play as the franchise grows with me. 3. Shane Mars. He's scored 8 goals and roughly 12 points against us since I joined the team. He's a monster. 4. He squats every time he enters and exits the locker room. 5. I could see us being in contention for the Founder's Cup in S67 if the right picks are made. A lot of teams are going to lose their star power while we reach our full potential in the VHLM. 6. Loyalty: 10 - It's more important to do what is right for my team to succeed than be on a crappy team and be the highest paid player. Ice time: 5 - I'm not worried about ice time as long as my team is happy and we're winning. Contract: 3 - I'd be willing to risk a major salary cut for my team to get another top player if need be. Contender status: 7 - Although staying true to my team is most important to me, I still want to win.
  6. 1.) What image do you see our team giving off considering we are called the Reapers? Reapers strike fear into their enemies, and we will as well. 2.) How does your player fit onto the team? At first I didn't do so well, but once I built chemistry with my teammates everything start to go great. 3.) What are your hope and goals now that you are here? I'd like to help this team grow whether or not I'll be here long enough to win a VHLM title. I'd like to see them win it when I'm gone if I don't do it in time. 4.) Are you happy to be drafted to this team? Of course. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea to go to a losing team, but I think it gives me and my teammates a chance to step up and put this team on a path to success. 5.) Position and number? Left wing, #5. 6.) Would you like to be a Captain or an Assistant Captain? Why? Honestly, it would honor me to serve in a leadership role on the team, but it's not up to me. We'll see how everything goes in the next couple seasons. 7.) Something funny I should know about you as a player as your new GM. I'm a small player so look forward to all of the hooking penalties and giveaways. 8.) How do you think we will finish in Season 65? Well now that we're nearing the end of Season 65, I know we're doing terribly, but there are many bright spots.
  7. The Daily Scythe Philly and Their Newest Addition By Casey Coates This Just In: The Philadelphia Reapers have just signed 19-year-old left winger Dylan Doyle to finish the season with a $1,500,000 contract. Personally, this signing doesn't necessarily help or hurt them right now, but it does give you a few ideas about where Doyle might go in the upcoming VHLM draft. It's clear that the Reapers are in a full rebuild, as they own 26 picks over the next two years, half of them being in the first two rounds. It's safe to say they'll have plenty of opportunity to build a strong team for the future. I like this signing because it will give the Reapers a glimpse of the potential Doyle has as a play-maker in this league, and it will give him the experience necessary for him to take a huge step as an impact player over the next few seasons. In an interview, we got Reapers' General Manager BladeMaiden's opinion on the matter: "After meeting Dylan, I knew I had to make this decision. He's not just one of the guys that is gonna add a little something to your team. He's a hell of a young man, and potentially an even better player. He's got some of the best passing awareness I've seen in a while, and it's only going to get better. I can't wait to see how he fits in with his teammates throughout the rest of this season and hopefully the next few after that. When I spoke to him about joining the team, I wanted to make sure he was comfortable with our current rebuilding state. To my surprise, he had no problem with it. It really says a lot about his character that he is willing to lose and learn to eventually win as a team he helped build." Let's remember Doyle isn't the only one you should be looking at, as Philly already has young prospects in: G - Kolur Bjoernsson(22) LW - Nico Sulerzyski(20) C - Walter Clements(18) D - Dean Clarke(19) LW - David Clarkson(19) C - Adama Traore(16) D - Robert Burns(19) LW - Ben Hafkey(19) C - Logan Swallow(18) So, there's a lot to look forward to for Philadelphia, seeing as they'll be adding to that prospect pool in a big way this off-season. Shortly after signing his fresh new contract, Dylan Doyle was available for an interview over the phone. Here's what he had to say about joining the Reapers: "Obviously, it's a great honor to be offered a contract in this league. I'll be competing for a spot in the pros, which not many players can say. I'm humbled by the General Manager BladeMaiden's offer, and I will put everything I have out on the ice. My goal is to reach my full potential on and off the ice, and I believe Philly is the best place to do that. From what I've found, a hockey club has more purpose when they involve their community. It doesn't only bring awareness to the sport, but it brings everybody together. That's why hockey is so important to me."

  9. Name: Dylan Doyle Position: LW Handedness: Right Birthplace: Tampa, FL, USA Age: 19 Height: 6'1" Weight: 175 NHL Comparison: Nicklas Bäckström Current Team: N/A Brief Biography Doyle is one of the many products of the OHL London Knights. This speedy winger is a bit new to the game, having only played for five years, yet he continues to surprise everybody with his quik learning, determination, and love for the game. At first sight, he doesn't seem so special, but his potential has skyrocketed since the first day he stepped onto the ice. His play is certainly overshadowed by his teammates, but there's still a lot on the table for teams to look at. Pros Play-making: Doyle's play-making ability has come as a pleasant surprise in his last couple years in the OHL. He's a frequent after practice, and spends most of his free time at an ice rink doing passing and stick-handling drills. He is committed to growing his game, both on the ice and in the film room. He has displayed his soft hands in many games by picking apart defenses while averaging just more than a point per game in his two year junior career. Elusiveness & Speed: As hockey continues to become a youthful and faster game, skating is now perhaps the most important aspect of the game for Doyle. Despite only playing five years, his skating is on par with most of his teammates and competitors. Doyle's small frame allows him to avoid big hits, and many of his points have come after making an opponent miss. He is heavily involved in breakouts, and rarely passes the puck backwards in the neutral zone because he can cut right through into the zone. Leadership & Personality: Doyle isn't your everyday leader. Having much less experience than most other players in the league, he uses that as inspiration to work harder. Doyle is quiet, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a personality. He knows when to act, and how to act. He can be a cold-blooded killer or a prankster. When on the ice, he serves as an example to his teammates that, if you work hard, you can accomplish the impossible. Off the ice, he is a great person to be around. He loves to hang out with friends, and teach hockey to the youth in his community. Cons Size: Although Doyle's size is not the largest problem with his game, it is one of the most obvious. When he's not going through or skating by opponents, he is likely being nudged off the puck. Physical teams give Doyle a hard time controlling the pace of the game by taking up space and forcing him to give the puck away. If he could put on some weight during the off-season, he could be a very dangerous player. He's got the speed to beat the defense, he just needs the strength. Defense: Work ethic has become a defining part of Doyle's game. He puts in 100% effort, 100% of the time. He can be a bit too aggressive on defense, leaving openings for the offense to take advantage of. He makes too many risky attempts to start 2 on 1 or breakaway situations that don't always work out. What he needs to do is work on his positioning, stick checking, and limiting his risky attempts to create man advantage opportunities in the offensive zone while leaving gaps in the defensive zone for the opposing team to pick apart. Scoring: Unfortunately, despite his great play-making ability. Doyle struggles to put the puck in the net. That's why he rarely appears in the shootout or in clutch situations near the end of a game. He must put more time into practicing his shot. Once he is able to relax and slow down the game, I think he will have unlocked his full potential. Final Thoughts I met with Doyle personally a few weeks back. I got to know a little about him, his family, and how he got into the greatest game on Earth. It's easy to see why so many people like him. His parents raised a great young man and athlete. I spoke with him about the prospects of him getting his first contract. "Of course I'd like to get the nice things like sports cars, houses, and all of that. That's not important to me right now. I haven't earned that yet. My plan is to earn my spot on a VHL roster, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm a long way from that," he stated as we wrapped up his interview. As he said, he's got a lot more work to do, and a lot of time to critique his game. Keep a lookout for Dylan Doyle in the upcoming years.
  10. Thanks, I'm glad to be here.
