1) What is your favorite part of the holiday season? The time when family and friends come around to spend genuine time with each other. It's honestly the best 2) Just a week left until playoffs! Who would you list as the top 3 threats to the Titans? Vancouver in finals for sure, but past that I can't say for sure as the playoffs are a whole other animal than the regular season. 3) Who has been the most surprising talent for Helsinki in S69? It's hard to overlook the amount of lethal production from both Aston & Kronos. They've been elite players for us this year and a lot of our success is thanks to them. 4) Are you pleased with your players performance this season? I'm on pace for close to 40 points this year, and considering this is only my junior year I'm very happy with where I am now. 5) Question from McLovin: What's your perfect season in your eyes? Finishing atop the league, winning the Cup and bringing home some personal hardware. That's at least personally my ideal season. 6) Question from TapeToTape: What is your skate size? I'll add a second part to this as well; which brand do you wear? Senior 6.5, and always rocking Bauer. You can never go wrong with Bauer.

(Team USA after winning Bronze at S69 WJC) The emotional roller-coaster that was the S69 WJC had many unexpected turns for Team USA. An extremely weak start to a strong Bronze Medal finish stunned the hockey world, and much of the success the team found was thanks to unsung hero Nate Wright @73MPL4R. His path to the WJC was not easy to say the least, playing in the VHLM last three seasons and being written off as a second, even third line center for Team USA. He stunned the tournament however when he got his chance at first line time with some of Team USA's best players, and the rest is history. Without further delay, let's see how Wright got to this point. Humble beginnings: Drafted 23rd overall in the S68 VHLM entry draft & 41st overall in the VHL, it was never expected that Nate Wright would become a franchise player and carry a team to being a three-peat champion in the VHL. He did, however, find much initial success playing in the VHLM for Yukon. Putting up 22 & 50 points in S67 & 68 respectively got him noticed by teams as a legitimate second line center for a minor league team. However, fortune would favor him in S69 as he was traded to the Mississauga Hounds and given every chance to succeed at that level. It paid off for both player and team, as of writing this Nate Wright has 89 points, including 32 goals and 57 helpers in a staggering 61 games. This kind of lethal offensive production was good enough to have him selected to Team USA for the upcoming WJC. S69 World Juniors: When analysts and GM's alike got hold of the rosters for the tournament, it was easy to write off Team USA as a bottom team. With their lack of offensive star power and only a defense to show for, the consistency Team USA would have going into the Round Robin was put into question, and many had written off the boys in red, white and blue as no-shows for the Medal rounds. Because of this, Nate Wright was given top line minutes as the number one center for the duration of the games, and it's safe to say he did not disappoint at all. In 8 games, he tied the team lead for points with 1 goal and 4 assists for a total of 5 points. While the offensive production is good, it wasn't all-start caliber like Team Asia was boasting. When time came for Team USA to fight for their medal lives in the quarter-finals, Nate Wright had a quiet performance though contributing to a win to propel them up against the juggernaut Team Asia in the semis. Putting up a +1 to the loss against Asia, the true test was with the Canadians, a long standing rival of the USA. Nate Wright now had a "now or never" opportunity to help his team to Bronze, and he did just that. With an assist to Tony Bolonee's goal in the dying seconds of a 1-0 game, he helped his team to it's first medal win in three seasons. Capping off an incredible showing at the WJC, Nate Wright returns to Mississauga in hopes of carrying his team to a Founders Cup championship on what's already been a very successful season for him. ------------------------------------------------------------ 562 words

(Team USA vs Canada, S69 Round Robin) It's been a hard and testing tournament for Team USA in this year's WJC, going from winless in their first 4 to beating World in the Semi-Final. It has proven to been a roller-coaster of emotions for the team and fans alike, but the true test however, lies in their upcoming opponent in Canada. Their second place finish in the Round Robin was good enough to place them against Europe in the Semi-Finals, but a mishap in starting lineups had backup tendy Jacques Lafontaine starting, letting up 6 goals and giving World a ticket to the Gold Medal game. Team USA, coming off a loss to Team Asia in the semis now has them in a spot to win Bronze against their northern rival in a game that is likely to reignite the fires from S66's Gold Medal game. Expect both teams to show up with a passion to come away from the tournament with a medal and a one-up on their biggest rival.

1) Do you expect many moves league wide before Thursdays Deadline? Absolutely, the league is gonna see many new faces in many new places before the deadline tomorrow. 2) Guillaume Fontenette has already more than doubled his point output from S68. What have you seen from him that has contributed most to his offensive burst? His blistering fast speed makes him an incredible threat on the ice and helps him set up plays, so I'd say his speed has been a big factor as to why he's so good. 3) We sit tied first in the conference; gut opinion...do we hold on? We've been elite ever since the trade, I see no reason that we don't keep up the pace. 4) Who do you hope to match with in round one of the playoffs? (Riga, Moscow or Malmo) I don't mind who we face in the playoffs, it's a whole new game once that starts and any team can win once the puck drops. 5) Several top names have recently announced retirement. Does this encourage you to closer follow the VHL minors? You'll see tons of players coming up to take their places and playing elite hockey. 6) Submit a question you would like to be asked next week, or submit a song request for the locker room. What's your perfect season in your eyes?

(S69 Team USA Photo) As the S69 WJC roster selections and training camps come to a close, and puck drop draws nearer, Team USA has been preparing for this tournament seemingly for years. Ever since the disappointments of S67 & 68 of no medals to show for their appearance, this American squad is hungrier than ever to prove the doubters wrong and to come home champions. After a near complete purge of management, staff and players following these losses, GM Aleksander Tye has been hired to pick up the pieces and started from scratch, assigning new members of management to work alongside him and new coaching & personnel staff coming in as well. With these changes, USA Hockey is hoping to see change in the way Americans play hockey, converting to a more defensive style of play and keeping the scoring down. With this brand new team Hockey USA has built, it'll be interesting to see how players mesh and preform together, though it's safe to say they all have one objective in mind; Gold. Whether or not this change in office and in style of play bears fruit is yet to be seen, though it's definitely safe to say GM Aleksander Tye has his work cut out for him. -Reporter Marcus Svedberg

Team USA Announces WJC Roster After weeks of waiting, GM's of the WJC have started to release their S69 rosters, but today we'll be focusing on the up and coming United States and the team they've assembled for this tournament. While there are plenty of topics of discussion about the team and management, the roster or whatever the case, we'll only be focusing on two major ones. The roster itself, and projection in the WJC,. Without further delay, let's get into the nitty-gritty. The Roster: While the team up front looks good, it's important to dive into the details of the players GM McLovin has selected to understand the thought process he put into making the roster. To start, hands down the best player on Team USA should be goaltender Virgil Ligriv @MMFLEX. After a couple of strong seasons in the VHLM, Virgil Ligriv has come to Helsinki and has played a seriously elite game. As of writing this, Virgil has 8 starts, going 7-1 with a .936 sv% and a staggering 1.62 GAA, with three seasons worth of solid VHLM production, this kind of strong goaltending at this early point in his career will have him stealing games for Team USA should he keep up the production. Past that, the defensive depth on the roster is something to note. With the goaltending mentioned previously, and strong two-way defenseman Jacob Perry @Liberty_Cabbage playing with the company of players such as Aamon Grim @aCrypticPancake, Tony Bolonee @Tbeez99 & son of legendary defenseman Shawn Glade, Shawn Glade Jr @ShawnGlade, the defense looks to hold down the fort and give the team a legitimate chance at Gold. In addition to that, the forwards, who're highlighted by the playmaking Koda Adok @trevmi, with Jaxon Walker @hewasajazzman and Bud Knight @Dilly Dilly who're both producing very impressive numbers at the minor league level respectively, can breathe a sigh of relief knowing a low scoring game is not the end of the world, though don't be surprised if they end up turning up similar production and burning past defenders with their speed & skill. Projection: Taking a look at the raw skill and depth the team has in it's positions, it's hard to not say the US is at least a favorite for a medal. With an impressively well-rounded Canada, an offensively stacked Asia & Europe, and similarly defensive team in World, the USA has it's work cut out for them. The United States is going to rely heavily on goalie Virgil Ligriv and the defense to keep scoring low and games close, and the offense to pot goals when able and give the team a fighting chance. Whether the team can hold down the fort or find surprising offensive production is to be seen, but Team USA is hoping to come away from the tournament with something to show after back to back years of no medal following a Gold Medal victory over Canada in S66. It's safe to say though that the future of the USA is looking bright, and these young stars are hoping to play an elite game and bring home the Gold! ----------------------------- 521 words claiming for 12/9-12/15
