  1. Roger just finished his short sting with the Marlins in the VHLM. It was good experience to get used to the VHL style of hockey and while there was lots of hype around Roger his stats were not the best.

He finished his stint with 5 wins, 11 losses and 1 overtime loss. .891 save percentage and a 3.21 goals against average.

"Numbers might not look great but I am happy. I got to see how they play the game over here and I got to be a starter as soon as I got into the league" Roger continued " The Marlins are a rebuilding team but it was a fun time. I learned a lot from my stay there and look forward to the future"

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is expected that Roger will make the jump to the VHLE next season and play their for the next 2 seasons before making the jump to the VHL.

" We will see how things go, I know Henry jumped into the VHL right after his first VHLE season but I might take my time and spend 2 seasons down there just to be fully prepared" Roger said "There might also not be to many opportunities in the VHL right off the bat so a 2 season stint might be the best"

Answer 3 get 1 TPE answer 6 get 2 TPE

    1. The season is over and we missed the playoffs, kind of sad but was a rebuilding season, so with that, my first question is: Who do you think will win it all?
Ottawa or Halifax look like favorites, I will give a slight advantage to Halifax but thats my own guess

    2. Playoffs are going on in the NHL too so who do you have winning the Stanley Cup? (bonus: In how many games?)

I think Colorado will win it all this year, 6 games vs the Hurricanes.

    3. How do you think I have done as an AGM?

I was here only a short time but had no issues, you were a great agm!

    4. Were you happy with how our season was based on our team?

I had fun the short amount of time I was here, It was a good learning opportunity and it was great to be put on a team where I could immediately start as a goalie

    5. With the season finished it's time to look ahead to next season and that leads me to the 5th question: Is there any specific team you want to be on next season?

No, I will go with whoever takes me and I will do my best to try to improve that team.

    6. Are you eligible for the VHL and VHLE drafts?

I don't think VHL draft next season but the season after that

Can we get an Eagles family tree? I'm getting a little lost

I can make one for a graphics post task later on but basically

    Greg Eagles

    Tom Eagles

    Henry Eagles

    Now Roger Eagles

  5. What is there to say about the Eagles dynasty that hasn't been said before?

They are a hockey family who produces all-stars. It started with Greg the goalie, followed by Tom the defenseman and currently Henry the forward playing his last season.

Now the newest member to join the VHL family is Roger Eagles who will complete the positional full circle by returning as a goalie.

Roger was born and raised in Wroclaw, Poland like every other Eagles member. The difference between Roger and all the others is that he was born and trained specifically for this role. He is the cousin of Tom Eagles (who was the son of Greg). As soon as he could crawl, Greg, started training him by playing floor hockey. He quickly learned that when Greg shot, he had to stop the ball. This continued on a daily basis for a few hours a day and while most toddlers would get bored, Roger just kept on smiling and continuing to stop the ball. At this point, Greg new that Roger's calling was to be a goalie. He took him under his wing and started teaching him everything he knows.

As he grew up throughout the years the training continued. Every day at the Eagles training facility in Wroclaw, Roger and Greg would train. They would work on all the important aspects of goaltending from Rebound Control, Hand Speed,  Reaction Time, Style control and agility. The trainings kept getting longer and longer, more intense and intense but Roger would never quit. He just kept on going. The dedication shown by Roger to be the best in his position was unmatched.

" I threw everything I could at the kid and he just wouldn't stop. He wanted to keep going " Greg said when asked about Roger's training "I knew that he will be something special in hockey and maybe the best one of the Eagles yet. He has the drive to be the best and he won't stop until he achieves that"

The one surprising thing about Roger is that he didn't play on any organized teams in his childhood, the Eagles family wanted to keep him out of the spotlight so that he could develop with Greg. Many are wondering if this will be a big benefit or if it will hurt him. Most experts say the lack of organized games early on will stunt his growth and also may shock him when he doesn't succeed right away while working up the ranks in the VHL.

" Many people believe he didn't play games when he was younger and that is partially correct" says Greg "while he didn't play organized league games, every weekend we brought in some of my VHL buddies and played games at our facility. We had it all coaches, refs, top tier guys playing with Roger playing in net. It gave him the ability to see and learn from the best of the best in the VHL in game situations"

As he turned 16, Roger was finally entered into organized league games, playing at the highest level in Poland and then North America. He really excelled in both leagues winning multiple awards and leading his teams to victory. This was the notice to the hockey world that Roger is here and he is ready to take the hockey world by storm.

As he enters his first professional steps in the VHL, he will be backed by all the Eagles alumni as they will be traveling with him to help in his training. Before fully committing to the VHLE, Roger will play the last few games of the VHLM season in San Diego, the same team where Greg Eagles started.

While it hasn't been the best of starts, Roger does not seem worried.

" It's a transition phase, I started near the end of the season where I am still getting a feel for the VHL and getting my conditioning up to game ready state" Roger said "I have had a few poor starts but things are starting to go better. This VHLM phase is just a conditioning stint until I get to the VHLE and most likely spend 2 seasons there getting ready.

When asked where he thinks he will go in the draft Roger said " Doesn't matter to me, I know most goalies don't go first overall and I am ok with that. I will go to any team that drafts me at any spot and will ensure I give them my all to win multiple cups. That is my only goal in the VHL"

It will be interesting to follow Roger throughout his upcomming career as he is the only Eagles up to this point to be specifically trained to play in the VHL and for the goaltender role. Will this experiment work out or will it be an Eagles flop? Only time will tell.

    1. We have been winning more games recently, how many wins do you think we will finish with?

Eagles has signed with the Marlins! Hopefully he can help win the rest of the games this season

    2. What is something unusual that your player does before a game to get warmed up?

Soccer Keep ups to get warmed up. Maybe not unusual but a completely different sport to get warmed up!

    3. What is your favorite goal celebration?

As a goalie I don't do any goal celebrations but I enjoy watching the guys on the ice celebrate and come up with new celebrations

    4. What position do you think we will finish in our conference?

Hoping we can squeak into a playoff spot during the final push but we will see

    5. Are you doing/are going to do fantasy zone?

I do them all, I think they are fun and you can win some extra TPE

    6. We are reaching the trade deadline soon (I think) what do you think would be the best trade for us

    (has to be reasonable)?

Some defensive depth would be good as it seems we only have 1 defender currently

  7. We spoke to Henry Eagles today about another Eagles joining the VHL

" I am excited to see him play, we have been working with him almost in secret to get him up to VHL standards" Henry said "I definitely can't wait to see him on the ice and see what he can do in the VHL. In our training camps he has been solid, barely any flaws and you know when an Eagles joins the league that you're getting a Franchise caliber type of player"

Hype has been slowly building around the youngster from his family but he has not yet played a game in the VHL. His first test will be finishing up the season in the VHLM where he is expected to join the Marlins who are currently lacking a keeper. While he might not get playoff hockey from the start by joining the Marlins, he will be able to join the league as a starter instead of playing a backup role.

"Roger is definitely not a backup and needs to be starting games, once you see him play you will understand why" Henry continued " I just wish I would get to play against him when he joins the VHL but instead I will be watching him from the stands"

  8. With one Eagles on his last season (Henry) and leaving the VHL, another one enters to continue the Dynasty.

This time Roger Eagles joins the VHL, a cousin to former all-star Greg Eagles, and a player that has been training under Greg over the last few seasons. While the competition at the goalie position will be tough, Roger believes he has what it takes to not only be a starter in the league but also one of the top goalies in the league.

Scouting reports are suggesting this is one of the most talented Eagles to yet join the league, starting off hockey at a very early age and being surrounded by Greg, Tom and Henry has helped Roger grow into a very competitive player. We spoke to Roger on why he decided on the goalie position.

" I just loved the position and thought it was time for an Eagles to be back in the net in the VHL" Roger said " I have been training to be a goalie since I was a child and yes I know im entering the league when there is an influx of goalies currently playing but that does not dissuade me from joining at this position. If anything it helps me be more motivated and more focused to earn that VHL starting spot. I think I will be spending some extra seasons in the juniors to help build on my game. I know no previous Eagles has done this but there is always a first for everything"

Roger has not yet joined a VHLM team but rumors have it that he may end up joining San Diego this season as they currently do not have a starting goalie. If he does end up joining San Diego, he will be following the same path as Greg Eagles who also first played for the Marlines when he entered the league back in season 66.

" I am excited to get started, I am excited to forge my own path and I am excited to continue the Eagles dynasty here in the VHL " Roger said "I will be working hard to ensure our name sake stays relevant in this league and will be working hard to become the first ever Eagles to try and grace that elusive hall of game"

While Roger comes highly touted, not many people have seen him play. He has been hidden from the public eye and has not played many junior games, instead he was consistently training at Greg Eagles goalie camp. Any games that he did play in junior, there was a strict no videography or photography allowed. From people that saw him though, everyone has said that he looks like a much improved version of Greg Eagles at his prime. If that is the case then this young goalie will take the league by storm.

The one caveat is that the VHL's scoring has been significantly going up this season as the forwards get better, will Roger, who has not played any professional hockey yet, be able to handle this uptick in goal scoring skill? It will be an interesting journey as we once again follow another Eagles from start to finish.

  9. Another name enters the VHL from the Eagles dynasty and Roger follows the original Eagles, Greg, in playing in the goalie position. Here is his scouting report as he begins his VHL career.

    Pros:

Rebound Control: Roger has always had amazing rebound control even from a young age. He has carried this over to his professional play and is probably one of the top end goalies in his draft class for rebound control. The way he plays, he can put rebounds wherever he wants which makes it harder for the other team to get rebound goals.

Hand Speed: This kid has a quick glove and you will find it very hard to beat him glove side. One second you think the puck is going in and the next you see a blur and the puck ends up in his glove. He has practiced and learned this from Greg Eagles. Note to shooters, if you want to do well against Roger, you need to avoid shooting glove side

Reaction Time: This goes hand in hand with his great rebound control and hand speed, this kids reaction time is unbelievable for someone so young. If you didn't know he was a development player, you would think he is a veteran goalkeeper with how quickly he reacts to the action on the ice. Good luck trying to score a tipped shot on this guy!

    Cons:

Skating: Rogers still has a lot to improve on the skating aspect of the game. This has always been his weak spot and is something he will be improving as his career grows in the league. He needs to get better at his side to side and backwards skating if he wants to become a franchise goalie in the future.

Agility: This goes hand to hand with his skating, his agility is not at the best. Good goalies need to be agile and need to get from post to post and be able to change direction quick. Due to his height this has been tough for Roger but it is something he is currently working on with Greg Eagles who also had agility issues. We can't wait to see how the training goes and how his agility will improve.

Size: Could be good, could be bad....but at the moment his size is a con. Roger is a tall and big goalie, similar to Andrei Vasilevskiy, while he covers a big portion of the net, this impedes his agility and skating. As he grows and earns experience, eventually size will become a pro to him as he learns to use it to his advantage.

  10. Henry has been quietly plugging away in his last season of the VHL and he has now matched the same amount of points he had last season but with 21 less games played.

If he continues on this pace he may set new career highs for his career. While he has fallen out of the VHL race for top 10 in points and goals, he does sit 10th in assists.

"I always thought of myself as a scorer but in this final season I decided to pass the puck around more and it has been working" Henry said "I am happy with the way this season has gone and I look forward to the potential of playoffs. We have a solid team and solid moves have been made to make this team competitive"

Seattle, who weren't expected to make the playoffs before free agency, now sit in 2nd on the North American division and one of the teams making noise across the league with their exciting play.

    1. Who is your Hart trophy winner this year?

I would have to go with MacKinnon. Connor has been great this year but Mackinnon has been on another level. I think in the end he takes it

    2. Who is your favorite player all time? ( any League )

Mario Lemiuex in the NHL. Was always a fan of his style of play and was one of the reasons I started watching hockey way back when.

    3. Who is your pick for Stanley Cup champions this year?

I live in Toronto so of course the Leafs but I know realistically they will choke in the first round again!

    1) Have you watched any PWHL games (Women's professional hockey)? If so what are your thoughts?

    2) What VHL team do you think has made the best moves at the deadline to improve?

    3) If a net gets torn, does it have more or fewer holes?

  12. With the current political climate and majority of companies temporarily or permanently closing down show in Russia. The VHL has followed suit and decided to move and rebrand the Moscow Menace. Revenue has been down and no one outside of Moscow wants to see the team play so the VHL has decided to move the team.

While the Moscow fans might not be happy, there was no viable way to keep the team going in Russia as no one outside of Russia was willing to support the team any longer.

“While the team was playing great and being manager great, it was still losing money and none of our sponsors wanted anything to do with it. We know it’s not the hockey teams fault but we have to follow suit with what everyone else out there is doing. Maybe in the future we will be able to return” A league representative was heard saying.

There was lots of cities bidding for the potential move but only one city stood out which would not move the team too far and would still have enough support internally. That city is Vinius in Lithuania. It is in a suitable location to all the other VHL teams and has many ways that fans and other teams can reach the city. Wheter by Bus, Train or flight.

Lithuania currently does not have a professional hockey sports team and this will put the city and country on the map in the field of Hockey. There was lots of excitement surrounding the rebrand as the team and VHL announced the teams official name.

The team has also announced they will be rebranding from Moscow Menance to the Vinius White Storks. The white stork is the national animal of Lithuania and everyone involved this would be the best way to represent the team in the VHL. There was no logo announced yet but the team has said one will be available in the next few weeks. We can’t wait to see what the graphics team will come up with.

The team will play at the Pramogu Arena which has a capacity of 4000 people until the team and city build a newer up to date arena that is up to the VHL standards. The VHL will help with 50% of the costs and the arena is expected to be finished in time for the S97 season. The first official game in Vinius colors will be the start of S94, as the league is allowing Moscow to finish off the season.

We spoke to a few new fans in Lithuania about the move and here are some quotes.

“I think this will be great for the city and the country. We are known for Basketball in the sports world but that’s about it, I think its time we show the world that we can also play hockey”

“I always dreamed of watching professional hockey and never though a team would actually come here to Vinius. This is a great opportunity for us and I hope the team can stick around for the foreseeable future”

    2. We know being a pro VHLer takes a lot of dedication. What's the longest consecutive number of hours you've stayed up in any context, and what came of it?

I believe 30 hours and this was to complete a finals project in college. Wasn't too bad and managed to get a nice amount of sleep after it was finished.

    3. You just got promoted at your job! What does that look like for you, and are you going to enjoy your job more than your last one?

If I got promoted from my job it would look very similar. Currently a HR Manager and next step would be BUsiness partner or Director but those usually have similar roles to what I do now

    Forward Rank - 8th
    Defense Rank - 14th

    Goalie Rank - 15th

    Conference Rank - 7th

    League Rank - 13th

This offseason left one question in everyone’s mind, why on earth did Henry Eagles @Greg_Di go to Seattle? While they do drastically impact their offensive outlook, the roster is far from ready to contend. The main issue for Seattle this season will more than likely be goaltending as while Giorgiy Costanzov @Mongoose87 does have a lot of potential they just aren’t quite there yet and don’t have the blue line in front of them to limit chances. Seattle will likely prove to be a trade partner for many of the teams looking to add a player or two, but they aren’t ready to compete for a playoff spot just yet, unless their offense and Eagles put the team on their back.

Everyone loves a Cinderella story 😛

  16. Review:

I enjoy media spots like this as I don't really follow the M that much and it's even more interesting through the eyes of a GM. The article was spot on detailing your draft picks and why you decided to choose that player. Was interesting to read about your deviation as well and that is always the interesting part when you get to be a GM, is those quick last minute decisions you have to make to make your team better.

To make the article stand out more I would add picture or maybe some color but that's just a visual thing. The actual article was very well written! Best of luck this season as Mexico GM! Rating 9.5/10

  17. Henry Eagles had a 3 game Seattle debut to remember. The former 1st round pick had fans on their feet for his first 3 games as a bear by picking up 8 points, 6 of those goals, in his Seattle debut. He also managed to score a hat-trick in his second game.

After the first set of VHL games, Henry leads the league in points and goals.

"It's early and I know I won't be able to keep up this pace and probably won't finish at the top in points and goals but it was a great start for sure" Henry said " The hat-trick was also great, haven't had a lot of those in my career"

Rumours has it that the GM did not tell the team the lineup or even had any set lines, players were asked to form their own lines and they just went with it. Nobody on the Bears have confirmed or denied this but regardless of what the situation was, the lines seemed to click.

"I don't know where those rumours were formed, I mean we had our lines set, I just don't know if those were the intended lines or not but regardless I found instant chemistry with Severus Targaryen and we just played like we have been playing together for years. If these lines were not the right lines I just hope we can stay on the same line together." Henry continued " It was definitely a great start here in Seattle and hopefully we can keep on winning"

This has been Henry's best start to as season in his career so far and the Bears fans can't get enough. Eagles jerseys have been flying off the shelf when he was signed and after this performance to start the season the Bears will be raking in the money in merchandising sales.

" When you have a start like that, the fans will want to buy all your merchandise and right now Henry merchandise is just printing money " the Bears commercial director said " His contract has been paid off in the first week of the season, we hope he can continue playing like this for the rest of the season as ill be able to retire early if that's the case!"

Before the free agency period the Bears were outsiders looking in at the playoffs but with what they have shown very early this season, they might be looking more like contenders.

" I know the media likes to hype everything up but it has only been 3 games, there is still a lot of hockey to be played" Henry says " Anything can happen between now and the end of the season so let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need to keep focusing one game at a time and if we get into the playoffs then we can cross that bridge when we get there"

In the end, winning the Eagles sweepstakes seems to be paying instant dividends for the Bears and might elevate the Bears back into playoff contenders.

  18. In just a few hours, Henry Eagles, will play his final season opener as he enters the final season of his VHL Career. He will be playing in a new city and dawning the colors of a new team as he begins the end of his career.

Even in his last season, their are high expectations for the former 1st overall pick and age has not slowed him down.

" I am still chasing that 100 point mark in my career and I guess I want something to showcase my efforts as well, maybe an individual trophy or so" Henry said " but of course the main goal is to get Seattle back in the playoffs and maybe upset a few teams in the playoffs. My role now is to help guide these youngsters in Seattle to help them achieve all their goals. It will be a fun final season and I can't wait to start"

The Bears home opener has been sold out for weeks as excitement builds for Henry's Seattle debut. Will it be a special first game for the skilled forward or will it end with Eagles disappointing the Bears excited fans?
