  2. When the San Diego Marlins signed Alex Pearson he was penciled in as a 3rd/4th liner with decent potential, but he’s worked his way into a top 6 spot this season. Playing on the second line with teammates Dalton Wilcox and David Clarkson Pearson Struggled early, but has slowly been improving through the season. He currently has 14 points in 22 games,6 Goals 8 assists which is nothing to write home about, but he’s been playing a lot better and more consistently recently. His forecheck is getting better, His skating is finally up to par and his defensive game is slowly improving. Hopefully his shot works it way back and he begins to pot more goals which is what the Marlins would love to see. His line mates have been stellar and carried that line for the early parts of the season but Pearson finally looks like he’s figuring everything out and slowly becoming comfertable. Hopefully the Marlins can make a rather big push for the playoffs and a deep run would certainly make them one of the more successful expansion teams.
  3. Feel free to post Questions below and I’ll awnser them in upcoming podcasts!
  4. 1.Pretty good, could be better but I’m happy with it so far. Could score a few more goals though 2. For sure I think we can. We have enough skill depth and talent to compete with the big names and make the playoffs. 3.Tannahill and Tate. Those 2 have been lighting it up recently, really helping us shoot up the standings. 4. Probably Halifax, Mississauga and Houston. I love pretty close to Halifax and I’m a big Gaudette fan. 5.Nothing really maybe more ways to get TPE just like 1 or 2. 6. Brendan Gallagher because he’s one of the most likeable guys in my opinion. Plays with heart and works his ass off every single game. That’s why I want my guy to be.
  5. The San Diego Marlins are currently 4th in the league. They went on a win streak and the whole team has been very impressive in aspects. The team seems to be firing on all cylinders and is really coming into its own after a couple 6-2 wins over the Houston bulls. With new additions of Nick Kirkpatrick and Ryszard Franciszek playing very good hockey the depth of this team has been very solid the last little bit. Edgar Tannahill has been lights out with 18 goals in 22. games playing with Phil Marleau who has also been solid. In net Greg Eagles has been absolutely stellar so far this season. Overall the team looks poised to take a playoff spot and compete. With 22 games done in the season I thought I’d do some Grading for the players of the Marlins! Forwards Edgar Tannahill A+ Tannahill has been lights out so far this year. 18 goals in 22 games for a total of 31 points he’s right near the top of the league. He’s led this team offensively all year and it looks like he’s gonna continue. Phil Marleau A- After a bit of a slow start, Marleau has been a dominant power forward and captain for this team so far this year. He’s currently 3rd in the team with 27 points. Andrei Mikhailov B- His offensive output has been a bit disappointing so far, but hopefully he figures it out and starts putting up dynamic numbers because he’s playing with Tannahill and Marleau and only has 11 points. His plus 11 is very positive though. David Clarkson A Hes given you exactly what you want in a top 6 Role. His scoring abilities managing to maintain and evolve through the year. He’s been a leader on this young team already and has made a significant impact. He’s riding a 13 Game point Streak and dosnt seem to be cooling off. Dalton Wilcox B The winger opposite of Clarkson, Wilcox has also been solid with 18 points in 22 games for the Marlins. Alex Pearson B+ For a rookie Center getting Second line minutes, Alex has been pretty solid despite growing pains, His offensive game took a dive at some points but he’s sitting at 14 points in 22 games which is nothing to write home about but his overall game has been solid, especially in the faceoff circle where he sports a 55%. hopefully he puts his tools together and starts producing better. Scotty BigShotty C- He's struggled this year in the 3rd line position behind Alex Pearson, only 2 points in 22 games and only 15 Shots, Scotty’s offensive game drove off a cliff and died 20 games ago. Lexington Lewis C His Defensive game has been solid, playing with new winger Nick Kirkpatrick has also helped his offensive game slowly improve, which coy help the Marlins tremendously. Nick Kirkpatrick B+ 5 Points in 10 games, This was a very good depth addition for InstantRockstar. Defenceman Samuel Sparrow A As the team’s number one defenceman, Sparrow has dominated at both ends, he’s recorded 19 Points in 22 Games an logged significant minutes for this team. Dean Clarke B+ His dominant 2way Game lets Sparrow be more of an offensive catalyst when he can be. He dosnt have a goal so far this season and lord knows he wants one. Lincoln Tate A+ Where did this Kid come from? He’s played extremely good so far, Dominating the blue line offensively. His hands, speed and skill are all insane and he’s playing with a lot of confidence right now. His PPG leads defenceman with 29 points in 15 games. 15 GAMES. He was a brilliant signing by IR and will be a huge peice to this team going forward. Taylor Budwaisor D He’s struggled most of the season to come into his own. Sloppy defensive play and nonexistent offense has been the story for Taylor so far. Goalie Greg Eagles A Eagles has been the goalie the Marlins needed this year. His vision and rebound control have been solid, He said he will look to lead this team to the playoffs in its inaugural season and it looks like he’s gonna do just that. Groups A+ Tannahill Tate A Marleau Sparrow Clarkson Eagles B Kirkpatrick Clarke Wilcox Pearson Mikhalov C Bigshotty Lewis D Budwaisor As the team improves as the games go on they continue to show why they belong in contention. They’ve dominated the last few games, and if they can get more depth scoring from guys like BigShotty, Lewis and a few others there’s no reason they can’t be a top team in the league.
  6. D-Dan Montgomery i think my roster is full?
  7. As the San Diego Marlins got their game underway last night against the Mississauga hounds, only 4 minutes into the game Alexander Shaw and Alex Pearson got into what looked like a heated confrontation. As They skated away Shaw slashed Pearson’s hand, which seemed to enrage the Marlins forward, but fellow teammate and captain Phil Marleau tried to calm him down, but at the next puck drop, Pearson violence speared him in the “Lower body area” that sent Shaw to the ground writhing in pain. Pearson was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for the reckless stick jab. Pearson was visibly upset over the call, mouthing off to the ref and breaking his stick as he stormed off the ice. Shaw skated off the ice with ice on his balls (although he did return shortly after). After the game Pearson refused s formal interview but said what happened what stupid and won’t happen again. The Marlins went on to win 8-5 that game. Rookie defenceman Ryszard Franciszek scored a hat trick in his first game! Congrats ryszard!

  9. 1.He has a good start but trailed off and is on a 5 game scoring slide. He’s getting lots of chances so I hope he converts soon, it’s frustrating to watch sometimes. 2.Eagles or Tannahill. Both of them have been lights out, Tate and sparrow have been pretty good so far too. 3. Some of us are rowdier then others, Were a pretty positive group. Tough loses are hard to overcome but we try not to get too down on ourselves. 4. Depth scoring for sure. It’s been our biggest problem this season. Our offense just fails at key times in games. That’s what has killed us. We’re not shooting enough either, of we can work on those baby I think we can be a pretty decent team this year. 5. Maybe, we’re s hot and cold team. I'm not the general manger so I can’t really say anything about that. It’s not my place. 6.We gotta score more goals then them. Duh. 7.Not at all, I just try and focus on the games and improving my game. I’ll go where I go and if I’m unhappy with it I’ll work harder next year. 8.Scoring, Skating and Puck-handling. Need to start generating more offence. Maybe some defence too because I’m a -4. 9.No, it’s great here I love it! 10. Hell yes. I’ll even wear the costume if you want.
  10. Even though he’s sitting in California over 3000 miles away from his hometown, Young hockey Talent Alex Pearson said he’s never felt more at home. been blossoming in his new home in San Diego playing for the Marlins. (Alex in his high school hockey days-2016) He grew up and had a rough childhood. He actually didn’t even get to play organized hockey until his high-school hockey coach Dave Summers notices his Raw Talent. His skating, puck handling and scoring abilities on full display. “It was like he was a seasoned professional the first game he played, I was blown away. The kid never played up until that point and he was outplaying half the team!” ”I knew he didn’t have the money for equipment, he was working a part time job at 14 to help his family pay bills, so I bought him all new equipment once I saw his skill and passion for the game and stuck him on the first line. He never looked back and ran with the opportunity.” He led The high school to 4 straight Championships, making a name for himself in the small town. He then went on to represent one of the best universities for hockey in the country and play his heart out for UNB. Putting him on the map of the VHLM and into the heart of Marlins GM InstantRockstar. Everyone knew who he was, and how talented he was. He began getting visits from scouts for interviews when he was in school. When asked if it was ever intimidating or nerve racking to have so many people expecting you to succeed. Alex had a pretty simple awnser. ”Nah not really, I don’t think about it, I just work hard, play my game and have fun.” Those are the kind of guys every team wants, humble, a good role model, and good leadership. He has excelled at every level of hockey and there’s no reason to think he can’t continue that line of trajectory. He’s blossoming quickly, showing off his speed, skill and skating abilities pretty well for the Marlins so far. He’s sitting at 6 points in 11 games for the Marlins, which may not be a solid impressive when you see he’s on a 5 game scoring slump. It’s only his second week in the season so there’s no reason to panic with his lack of production. Slow steps and growing pains sometimes are very common in a rookie season. With his underlying numbers there’s hope he will begin to find the back of the net soon. hes taken 28 shots but only scored twice. Sporting a measly 7.1 shooting percentage. Even if that goes up to 10.0 (Still below league average) he should pot 15- maybe 20 goals this season. He’s also missed 33 shots (33!). He’s helping the team in other ways even if he’s been help off the scoresheet, he’s been creating chances and scoring opportunities, as well as improving his defensive game massively lately. Im sure as the season goes on he will gel with his team better, hopefully work on his shot accuracy, in hopes of getting those extra points and helping the Marlins stay competitive. We managed to Get ahold of Alex to ask him some questions shortly before their game tonight. Is it hard playing so far away from your hometown? ”Yeah it is, Obviously I miss home and everything, but the teams been great, Phil has been extremely welcoming as the captain. Everyone on the team feels like family and that’s what makes the transition easy” How do you think you’ve played so far this season? ”Not good enough. I started off pretty good but these past few games have really been a test for me, i’m working to improve my game every single day to help make the team better.” We’ve heard you’re unhappy with declining ice time, do you think that’s due to these poor results ? “Thats a little rude to ask. I mean obviously. I don’t ask you why nobody reads your articles and point out your a shit journalist. When you don’t produce your coach cuts your ice time. that’s how hockey works you dingbat. Obvious I’m not a fan but that just means I gotta work harder to earn it back. I’m a rookie I still have to earn my place on this team. I love the Marlins and I wanna be here for a long time.” Do you think of things don’t work out this season you’ll give up hockey? If so what’s your backup plan? “I’ve always wanted to be a pilot. But I mean I’m deathly terrified of heights so let’s hope to god that this hockey thing works out” Thanks for Reading!!
  11. @Green Oh thanks dude F-Oyorra Arroyo
  12. Only Four games into their inaugural season, the San Diego Marlins sit at a middling record of 1-2-1. It’s still very early into the new season but if they wanna make they playoffs they will have to amp it up. Especially in the goals department. They’ve played some of the tougher teams in the league and played solid stretches of hockey, which is very encouraging considering this is the first time all these players have played together. Chemistry takes time. Their one win was against the Houston bulls, who are sitting without a win so far this season. In that game everything seemed to mesh well together, the line of Clarkson-Pearson-Wilcox was a tough customer in that contest, They combined for +7 and 4 points.Since then that line has stagnated. Their toughest loss was against a particular strong Philadelphia Reapers team. Notables ——————————— Greg Eagles: Seemed to shake off the rust as the games went on, You can’t blame him for the losses as he did what he could, He’s held the Marlins in every game and gave them a chance to win it, you can win unless you score goals. Even with his great start I wonder when Promising Young rookie Knox booth will get his first start. Alex Pearson: He has 3 assists in 4 games and no goals yet which isn’t bad as it is his rookie season. Although his team worst -3 is a potential indicator his defensive game is still lacking. His ice time has taken dips at times when the coach has shown frustration with his defensive game. His offensive skills though seem to be adapting well. Hopefully the goals start coming soon. Edgar Tannahill: Very good start to the season for him, he’s leading the team in scoring, tied with Sam Sparrow and Pierre Persson with 4 assists so far, another couple great revolutions this season for San Diego if they can keep it up. Pierre Persson: Was a late Offseason addition that has paid dividends for San Diego. He’s shown he has the tools to be an offensive weapon from the blue line. If his defensive game improves he could become a top pairing guy pretty fast with Sparrow. Phil Marleau: The Captain Has 2 Goals and an assist so far in this season. His leadership abilities have been on display showing why he was a good Choice for Captain. He Has 11 Shots with a 18.2 Shooting percentage. If he keeps that up he should be able to score 25-30 Goals this year. A very respectable number for the Captain. Sam Sparrow: An absolute workhorse for them so far, Sparrow has shown flashes of brilliant offensive instincts so far this year, hoping to improve in his totals from last year as the team’s Number one defenseman. His Ice Time number have been insane so far this year but he’s proven he can handle it so far. Overall the Team has shown flashes of brilliance and flashes of youth and inexperience. The lack of shots is concerning but hopefully that will improve when we get deeper into the season. Their getting offence from everyone as well. but their defensive game will need to tighten up unless Greg Eagles and Knox Booth can hold a Brick wall All Season. Thanks for reading.
