  1. In hindsight I should've made it TPA for 201+ and TPE for 0-200 because it kinda screwed up the rankings and general outlook for some teams.
  2. Credit to @Frozen Block for the idea. Small detail change from what Frozen wrote about. Here are the links to both of the articles he took the time to create: Instead of adding up all of the TPE, I will find the sum of the TPA for each player on every team. Yes, this may include inactive players, but it doesn't make that much of a difference on their chances this season. Contender Philadelphia Reapers 2,703 Players at 200 TPA = 4 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 8 Players 0-99 = 7 Minnesota Storm 2,104 Players at 200 TPA = 2 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 6 Players 0-99 = 9 Hopeful Ottawa Lynx 1,674 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 3 Players 100-149 = 2 Players 0-99 = 14 Halifax 21st 1,642 Players at 200 TPA = 1 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 5 Players 0-99 = 7 Yukon Rush 1,606 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 5 Players 0-99 = 10 Houston Bulls 1,338 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 4 Players 0-99 = 11 Saskatoon Wild 1,252 Players at 200 TPA = 1 Players 150-199 = 2 Players 100-149 = 3 Players 0-99 = 7 Rebuilder Las Vegas Aces 650 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 0 Players 100-149 = 2 Players 0-99 = 10 San Diego Marlins 575 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 0 Players 100-149 = 1 Players 0-99 = 11 Mississauga Hounds 555 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 0 Players 100-149 = 0 Players 0-99 = 11 Mexico City Kings 450 Players at 200 TPA = 0 Players 150-199 = 0 Players 100-149 = 0 Players 0-99 = 11 Truthfully, the Reapers are a whole step or two higher than the next closest team in Minnesota, but with some key trades or signings and tremendous growth, they could be challenged. Realistically, I don't see any of the hopeful teams standing a chance this season. They simply don't have the high end assets they need in order to compete in a playoff series against the top two contenders. They would have to pull of a miracle to make it work. I definitely see some of these teams leaning towards selling early, but teams like Ottawa or Halifax could and should be early buyers if they want to stand a chance this season. The rebuilding teams don't seem to be in any position to trade for better players, or many draft picks either. I have a hard time seeing most of them contending for the next couple season unless the GMs make uniquely successful decisions.
  3. Tried to take a different path with this one. Tested out a couple filters and effects, but not sure if they look good or not. So, I'm gonna let you guys tell me what I did right and wrong.
  4. +10 to the man that can and will drink more than you... Bud Knight of course.
  5. 1- The Song you listen to to get hyped on your way to a game? Gulping Bud Light is music to my ears. 2- Is it hard for you to find skates you like, do you go skate shopping alone or do you trust the trainer to take care of it? I don't have time for that. Trainer does it for me upon request. 3- Do you believe in luck? If so do you have a lucky object that you associate with playing Hockey? I don't believe in luck. 5- How hard was it finding somewhere to live in Philly? Doyle offered me a place to stay. He probably regrets that now, but I don't really care. 6- Name one thing that had to be located near your new house (fast food, game shop, park, tennis court, ect) I bought a house and turned it into my own personal bar. Will I share it with the team? Nope. 7- Reapers like to have fun, name one thing you like to do to let loose. Drink until I've had enough, then continue drinking.
  6. I kinda suck at making graphics. Yes, this is supposed to be a little quirky and cheesy. Feel free to give me any advice on what I should do better for my next, as I am looking to change it up every time. Congratulations to all other players that were drafted tonight!
  7. 1. What inspired your player's name? The Bud Knight. 2. What's been your favorite part of the league so far? Either the great community or how organized this is. 3. What's been your least favorite part of the league so far? It’s tough to say I have a least favorite anything on this site. Maybe not getting to play after I was signed in the VHLM, but I don’t think that really matters. 4. Do you have any questions about the league that you would like answered? Most of my questions have already been answered by the great community members I’ve met. 5. For our S67 players, do you plan on going up to the VHL, or staying down? For our S68 players, or S67 players going back into the VHLM draft, which team do you think will pick you up? Which team do you hope will pick you up? I’m gonna go with the same answer for both. I’m thinking and hoping that the Reapers will draft me. I’d be lucky to be on any team though. 6. The VHL currently offers a bit of bonus TPE for being involved in our affiliates, the SBA (basketball league) and the EFL (American football league). Have you heard about this? If you have, have you considered joining those leagues? If you came here from either league, how does the VHL compare to the others? I’ve been relatively busy, so, I don’t think I should get into more than one. I struggled for a few weeks to get on and even do my rookie profile, but my activity should pick up soon.
  8. Bud Knight RW 6'3" 195 lbs. Left-handed Brief Biography: Bud Knight was born on February 4th, 2018, just over a year ago. He isn’t the greatest athlete, and nor does he need to be. He’s spent the past year training to play hockey in the VHLM and hopefully the VHL. His game has progressed quicker than anybody would have expected, which makes him very enticing to pick up. Pros: Size and aggressiveness It is to no surprise that Bud Knight is heavy, as he stands at 6’3” and always has a beer in his belly. He received coaching this past year to help him use his large frame to his advantage. Only time will tell how this will help him make an impact in the league. On the other hand, you will find him to be a bit more aggressive than most other players on the ice. This is mainly due to the fact that he is always borderline intoxicated and doesn’t really care who or what is in his way. Despite this, he tends to stay out of the penalty box more than one would expect. Play-making Bud Knight is a pass-first player. He spent by far the most time working on his stick skills with some of the best coaches in the world. It wasn’t all that difficult for him to make plays in the offensive zone at a high level. There have been reports that it is just luck, and that he might be the luckiest ice hockey player in the world… especially when he is intoxicated. As stated before, only time will tell how his playmaking ability will develop. Defense and positioning Despite his early struggles to remember where to go on the ice, he has made great progress since his days of carousing around the ice during his one-on-one training. He’s developed a strong presence on the ice. Whether that’s because of the fact that he wears a full suit of armor is the reason for that, or not. He has learned to manipulate opponents into doing what he wants them to, and finishes them off with an excellent stick or body check. Cons: Skating Although he’s made excellent strides,- no pun intended- Bud Knight’s skating isn’t what it should be. He’s still far from the fastest guy out there. Even though he has such great positioning defensively, when he gets caught too far up the ice, he gets exposed severely. His skating needs more work than just about anything else in his game, but we must remember that he has only been alive for just over a year. Lacks sobriety The benefits of being intoxicated while on the ice are far outweighed by the negatives. Regardless of the fact that he can drink a full keg with ease, his effectiveness and efficiency tends to drop near the end of the game because of it. Some of his past coaches recommend rationing his alcohol intake each period to ensure he doesn’t drink it all at once. Camaraderie Bud Knight has never been that selfless teammate everybody wants. Yes, he is a passer, but he doesn’t really care who is scoring as long as he gets the point. He can’t lead a pen to a paper or follow a straight line, and he would rather regurgitate the beer he just drank than have a meaningful conversation with a teammate. In the end, if nobody speaks to him, the team usually does quite well. Conclusion: There’s no saying how well Bud Knight will play and whether or not he will become a VHL(M) star, but we know this much: he will always have a belly full of Bud Light.
  9. So I could just claim it from here? Or would I have to post it in point tasks?
  10. As we're already one game into the final series of the VHLM playoffs, there is a very tight running for the Skylar Rift Trophy. As I don't want to stretch this out, I'll get right into the statistics and state why each player might deserve the honor. Philadelphia Reapers Walter Clements C | 6'8" | 250 lbs. 6G | 11A | 17P | +10 Clements currently leads all remaining players in point production this postseason. He is one of the most versatile players in the league. It shows up on both the stat sheet and might be the primary reason why Philly has had such an easy path to the finals. He's a clutch player that makes big time plays in the biggest moments, and he has proven that by contributing to nearly 14% of the Reapers' total points on his own. Bjorn Scoringsonn RW | 6'1" | 190 lbs. 5G | 10A | 15P | +4 Scoringsonn was a very respectable top six player this regular season, but has found a match made in heaven with left winger, turned center, Dylan Doyle. He has shown he can play with and against the best players in the league at a high level. Despite having an assist-heavy postseason, he can put the puck in the net just as well. Scoringsonn joins Doyle and Tocco on the highest scoring line in Philadelphia, where they own just over 30% of the offensive contribution on the team. Dylan Doyle LW/C | 6'1" | 175 lbs. 7G | 5A | 12P | +5 Doyle has had a tremendous breakout this postseason. He went from averaging 0.26 G/GP to 0.70 so far this playoffs. He's also increased his point per game percentage by a titanic 66%, for 1.2 P/GP during the postseason versus a measly 0.54. Doyle currently leads all remaining players in goals this postseason. Honorable Mentions Boone Jenton(D) - 3G | 9A | 12A | +4 Kolur Bjoernsonn(G) - 9-1-0 | 0.904 SV% | 2.22 GAA Ottawa Lynx Blake Laughton LW | 6'3" | 229 lbs. 6G | 10A | 16P | +10 Laughton has remained a consistent two way player throughout this postseason. Leading Ottawa in assists, points, and hits. Laughton and fellow star line mate, Martin, have a combined 31 points this post season, which is nearly 30% of the total scoring for the Lynx. Aston Martin C | 6'0" | 175 lbs. 6G | 9A | 15P | +8 Martin is tied for the team lead in goals with Laughton. He has also played a significant role in Ottawa's puck possession, as he's responsible for winning around 55% of the faceoffs he has taken this postseason. He's not the largest guy on the ice by any means, so he tends to stay away from the gritty areas, but he is elusive and is a valuable playmaker for his team. Ambrose Stark D | 6'3" | 201 lbs. 5G | 8A | 13P | +11 Stark has been by far the most versatile defenseman throughout this postseason. As a defenseman, he ranks in the top 10 in goals and assists, 8th in points, 1st in points by a defenseman, 1st in +/-, 2nd in shots blocks, and 5th in hits. There's no question he will be a deciding factor in every game he plays as the finals conclude within the next week. Honorable Mentions Pekka Pouta(G) - 8-1-1 | 0.907 SV% | 2.50 GAA Thomas Kennedy(C) - 5G | 7A | 12P | +3 There are clearly many bright spots on both of these teams, but I personally think it's Clements vs. Stark. Clements is almost guaranteed to get a point every game, and perhaps even more. Stark and Ottawa will have to shutdown not only Clements, but also the Reapers' second line which has been on fire all postseason.
  11. Anybody selling last minute tickets for game 2?
  12. Who is willing to pick up the drunken Bud Knight in free agency? First attempt at a graphic. Let me know what you think, and I'm more than happy to take suggestions.
  13. 1) We're now a few games into the regular season, what are your thoughts on how your team has done to this point of the season? Yukon was a rebuilding team, so I didn't expect very much. 2) What are your thoughts on your own performances? I signed a contract, but never got to play this season, which was a little disappointing. 3) What's been your favorite game to this point of the season? I haven't been able to tune in all that much these past few weeks, so I don't have a favorite game in particular. 4) With the World Juniors being announced to return this season, how excited are you at the prospect of potentially representing your country? I would love to represent America. 5) We're currently working on creating a more up to date video tutorial to help people around the site, if there's anything you're currently unclear of or something that took you a while to pick up that you'd like to see mentioned in the tutorial, what would it be? I'd definitely show screenshots of pending updates so new members get an idea of everything they should do each week. 6) I do a tag for you when I post new press conference questions, would you like that whenever a new point task opportunity arises? That would be great. I don't have too much time during the week to look around the forums finding point task opportunities.
  14. Part I Game 3 - Helsinki Titans Game 4 - Vancouver Wolves Game 5 - Helsinki Titans Part II Game 5 - 4-2 (Helsinki) Part III Series leader in points: Borwinn Series leader in goals: Borwinn Series leader in assists: Borwinn
  15. Scored at a high level while taking less penalty minutes than most others on this list. 15 GWG's kinda puts him ahead of everybody else in my opinion. If it weren't for him, they might not even be in 3rd place during the regular season. Even if Borwinn didn't score the most points I'd still vote for him. p.s. sorry goalies I know you don't get the spotlight all the time
  16. 1. What do you think about the VHL during your time in the league? It's been great, but I've been a bit busy on vacation so I haven't had as much time to engage myself within the community. 2. If you could improve/change one thing what would it be? Can't think of anything that I'd improve. I'm impressed with the organization and efficiency of the staff. 3. What would you change about your time in Yukon so far? After I signed my contract, the GM didn't insert me into the lineup or even speak to me about ice time. I wanted to see how well I'd fit in and get a taste of the difficulty in this league. 4. Who do you look up to the most in your hockey career? I don't think I really look up to one person the most. I respect everybody and do my best to learn from them. 5. Where do you see yourself in 5 VHL seasons? As I've said at least a dozen times before, hopefully playing alongside my brother Zep.
  17. 1. What do you hope to accomplish this year with the Rush? Develop my game, and prepare for next season. 2. Who would scouts compare you to in another hockey league? I'm not sure. I haven't spoken to any scouts. 3. Out of the 8 VHL teams, who would you like to be drafted by if you haven't been drafted yet? Philly because my brother @zepheter is there. 4. If you have been drafted into the VHL already, what player on your draft team are you looking forward to most? Looking forward to playing with my brother. 5. What type of player should we expect to see from you this season, and moving forward in your VHL career? I'm a two-way playmaker.
  18. I’d be more than happy to join your team. I’m not too worried about playing time, but it would be nice if you put me with a goal scorer since I’ll be focusing on passing this season and I’m interested in seeing how my player simulates as a passer. I spoke to my brother briefly before making my account. So, do I just wait for my pending updates to be approved or do I have to contact someone about it?
  19. I couldn't believe it the first time I heard about it. Earlier this afternoon Bud Light released a statement that their very own Bud Knight has secretly been training for the Season 67 Victory Hockey League Minors Draft. During an interview, President and CEO Michel Doukeris was ecstatic. He expressed that "it is an honor and privilege to unite world class hockey with our world class alcoholic beverage. We can't wait to see him battling on the ice, and I plan on hosting a draft party at our headquarters in St. Louis. Hopefully we won't be too drunk by the time he is selected." When asked how Bud Knight will fit into his gear, he said "we're currently working on a state of the art set of gear to fit over his armor. We'll provide updates on its status later." With the league already growing in popularity each year, this will help it continue to trend in that direction by reaching out to an even larger market. When people think of Bud Light they will now think of the Victory Hockey League. Analysts estimate that the average viewership per game should increase by nearly quadruple. I attempted to followup with Bud Knight, but he was unable to answer questions at the time because he was drinking.
  20. I'm not too big into discord, but I might give it a try soon. Thanks for the reception.
  21. I confirm that Zeph recruited me.
  22. 1) Since it's not been too long since you've joined the league, what are thoughts on the league so far as a whole? I think it's pretty cool. My brother just got me into it so hopefully I learn more soon. 2) Are there any areas in the league that you would like to see a change/improvement? Not at the moment, but I'll definitely speak up if I find something. 3) The VHLM Newsletter launched earlier this week, did you read it and was it helpful to you? Haven't given it any attention yet. I'll give it a look. 4) What are your aims this season in the VHLM? Just trying to fit in for now. 5) With the teams starting to take shape, who do you consider to be the favourite for the VHLM Founders Cup? My brother @zepheter is on the Philadelphia Reapers so I'll be rooting for them. 6) Is there any player on your VHL team that you're particularly looking forward to playing with when you make the VHL? (For players who were also in the VHL Draft) As I said before, I'm sort of expecting to play with my brother for the majority of my career on this website.
