  2. Review: Sugar, spice, fire, and ice. This sig def has some spice to it. Before I get into anything else, render seems to be a bit low-quality at first glance. Could be an old picture or whatever but it's a detriment from the overall cleanness of the sig. Easily the best part of this graphic is what you did with the text. Love the colors, love the MATTY text, love the >>>>> shit, love the sub text, I think the FIRE text could have been a bit bolder but that doesn't really takeaway from how awesome everything is as a whole. The background is...it's something. I can't put my finger on it, but having a bunch of lower quality light efx makes it seem very stale, whereas a sig with great lighting components should be pretty bright and flowy. Having some of those sparks and lights over the render, as well as magnifying them a bit, would really help. 8/10 - Solid sig, I do think this could have been a loooot better with some minor adjustments. Especially with that text, you had some strong things going.
  3. Review: Very interesting Mr. Pickle. First off I have to yell at you for using bokeh as the background. It's a lighting effect not a plain stock to use as a BG! But anyway it does go pretty well here. I really love the coloring overall, that yellow, peach, and purple give a warm summer vibe and I'm all for it. The render composition is a bit off, I like it when people follow the "head touching top of sig" rule but this guy is really being smooshed up there. I like the text as a whole but having the offset stroke/outline for MINGLE but not for CHRISTIAN is inconsistent. I think a lighting effect or gradient over the top would really complete the sig and help with blending the render, he's kind of dark for the rest of the sig. 7.5/10 - this would be higher if the SFC didn't die
  4. 1. Hey, we made the playoffs. I was only able to contribute at the tail end but I hope it was enough. 2. We have to want it more. At this stage, there isn't a better motivator than lifting that VHLM Championship trophy. 3. I signed with a team I enjoyed playing for and had a great first season. 4. It's going to be interesting how the dispersal draft shakes out. I hope that I can make a return to Sasky, but we'll see. I'm down to play anywhere. 5. I run cross-country and track. 6. Naw I have not. Don't really play MC that often.
  5. hi hi applying but just give it to dlamb
  6. Flynn Remy Junior Review Flynn Remy was born at the age of 0 in Antwerp, Belgium and lives there for the first few years of his life. Shortly after his 4th birthday though, he and his father moved to Hannover, Germany for a work opportunity. His mother died due to complications during birth so his father had to raise him as a single dad, along with the help of relatives. One of the biggest inspirations in Flynn's life for hockey was his uncle Peter. Peter was a huge hockey fan and regularly followed the VHL and Team Europe. He regularly took Remy ice skating from a young age and bought him a mini field hockey stick and goal to play with in his house. As soon as he was old enough to play hockey in a youth league, his uncle signed Flynn up and regularly attended his games and practices while his father was busy. Remy was incredibly skilled on the ice and it showed. He was leaps and bounds ahead of almost everyone in the youth league. As he grew older and continued to grow more skilled, it became clear that going into professional hockey was a serious destination for him. As soon as he turned 18, he opted to sign a contract with the Hannover Scorpions, the local team playing in the Oberliga, which was the third-tier of German hockey. At the time of his signing, the Scorpions were in a relegation battle. A few bad games could lock them into going down to the Regionalliga. Remy gave the team a huge boost on the defensive side though, his small but quick frame allowed him to quickly get back on D to halt any threat of a counterattack, which Hannover had trouble defending against. He also had the toughness to try and stick it to the bigger players, even landing some highlight-level hits. His impact on the offensive end couldn't be overstated either, racking up quite a few goals from outside. With Flynn's help, the Scorpions were able to not only escape relegation, but they ended with a near mid-table record. With an offseason to train and gel with the team, Remy was looking to make a huge explosion for his second season. That held true for the first third of the season and Hannover was looking strong in 2nd place. However, Flynn suffered a bad injury that kept him out of play until the last few games. Even when he returned, he looked a step slow and wasn't playing like his normal self. When the dust settled, an 8th place finish was better than the season prior but it could've been a whole lot better. In his third season at the age of 20, Remy had a chip on his shoulder, he was absolutely determined to win a promotion for his team. The Scorpions started hot out of the gates once again just like before. Only difference this time around is they didn't let up. No team got really close to catching them after the halfway point and Hannover ended up finishing in 1st by a mile. Remy was dominant all season and he accomplished what he set out to do. While Flynn loved his team, it was evident his talent level was even ahead of the DEL2 (second-tier). After receiving a great offer from Eisbären Berlin, Remy elected to say goodbye to Hannover and get his name out there. In his fourth and fifth seasons, he continued to thrive in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest level of hockey in Germany. Berlin finished 2nd in Remy's fourth season, just a mere point away from 1st. At this point, he was getting serious attention elsewhere in better leagues but Flynn elected to stay and try to bring a trophy to Berlin. Just like before, he set his goals and he delivered. Eisbären finished safely in 1st and Remy even took home the league's MVP. After this monumental season, he started to consider his options elsewhere. Playing in the VHL was always a dream for him because of his uncle, and when offers from VHLM teams started coming in, Flynn knew he had to play there. Some General Managers were worried about his size, but he still warranted a decent amount of attention. Remy ended up going to the Saskatoon Wild because of the great chemistry he had with their GM and the rest of the team. He has the veteran leadership, the drive, the motivation, the heart, and the talent. Hopefully Flynn Remy can put it all together in the VHLM, and then eventually the VHL.
  7. I checked vhl portal and halifax was too good
  8. Thank you to everyone who sent a message! I'm picking fast but there's no real point to waiting. This user is one of the few here who I'd absolutely love to play for and the team is one I'd feel comfortable on. That said, no offense to any of the other VHLM GMs, it looks like you all work extremely hard and I would probably also enjoy playing for you. But familiarity helps me, so... #SaskyBois Let's get it Doooooom
  9. Review: Pretty solid job here. There's a lot of good elements going on. I like how the player in the background is faded, keeps the focus on the main render. While I don't necessarily like the stroke/outline on the main render, I like the attempt to try a technique. Text is clean, nothing wrong there. I think the red section could use a texture, it's a bit bland as is. I also think the Russian flag could be incorporated into the sig a bit better, as of now, it's just slapped on there. 7.5/10
  10. Review: This is pretty slick, good preview of two of the potential VHLE teams. I like the text, mix between sans serif and the large paintbrush type is really nice. Background is good, composition is great. My only recommendations are with the renders. The helmet and jersey is puke green rather than the bright yellow. The renders could also use a bit more flair, they're pretty plain. Overall though, one of your better ones as of late. 8.5/10
  11. What is something you couldn't live without? It would be pretty hard to live without lungs I'd say. What is one thing ritual you do before every game? I have a very specific stretching routine that I do before every game. What is your favourite pre-game meal? Chicken and rice for sure. It definitely gives me the energy I need. If you had to play another sport what would you play? Possibly basketball. I played well up until high school ended. What is your go to shoe when you're relaxing? None! Gotta let the toes breathe if you want full relaxation. If you could put a team anywhere in the world where would it be? A Columbus team would be very sweet, but since the NHL has one, probably Cincy.
