  1. Okay so I waited for these changes before doing my career pt. But since I'm s68 just do the old point tasks?
  2. Vancouver Moscow Seattle Calgary
  3. 1) How do you like playing home games at O2 Arena in Prague? The atmosphere and the fans at home are just absolutely phenomenal and it makes that rink extra fun to play in. 2) Is there any songs/ or bands you would like to hear on faceoffs? Or even during warm ups? We like to party by that one 90s group, can't remember. It's upbeat and brings me back memories of the dancing old guy in the old six flags commercials. Just an overall fun song to play. 3) Are you happy with your performance thus far this season? and why? Well I still have parts of my game that I'd like to refine of course. Per example I want to keep working at getting faster and stronger on my skates but overall i'm content with my play this season as it is my rookie season here in the vhl. I'd rather not be -13 on the season however... 4) Who’s your favorite goalie in the NHL? I've always liked Jaro Halak 5)In your opinion, what NHL team has the best NHL logo ? & why? Honestly I miss the old Panther's logo with the jaguar biting a stick in half that logo was awesome! Today however, that's a tough one... I guess the Blackhawk's logo is pretty iconic and it's not racist as fuck like the Redskins ha ha. 6) Predict how many goals you will score this season Well if this was asked at the beginning of the season I would've said 10 but considering i'm 1 shy from being there already i'll go with 18.
  4. We better get a medal this time around...
  5. Almost Halfway Through, Phantom Top Scorers so far. It's almost the halfway point in the season now and I decided to just do a quik check up on who's leading the Phantoms point wise so far. 3. Zeno Miniti Miniti has been a great trade addition so far scoring 12 goals and 27 points which is good for third on the Phantoms scoring chart. But, Miniti has been solid overall in his own zone as well having a plus/minus of -12 which sounds bad at first but it's actually 2nd on the team amongst forwards. 1. Scotty BigShotty Well currently it's a two way tie for first. Rookie, Scotty BigShotty has been pretty consistent so far this season and has scored himself 11 goals and 28 points. He's a kid I'd keep an eye on as he's only going to get better for here on out! 1. Don Draper Don Draper is the other man in the tie at 28 points. He's the more experienced of the two, having already a VHL season under his belt. He currently leads the team in goals with 15 which is great and all but his play on the defensive side of things that must have his coaches very frustrated, only captain Erik Draven has a worse plus/minus amongst the Phantom forwards. Either way don't expect this squad to be making the playoffs this season, they lack the star power necessary to compete this year however they have themselves a very young team that will only get better over the years and should peak in 2-3 seasons. So fans don't get yourselves too down with all of the team's recent poor play.
  6. Id like to apply didnt last year but this year i feel like ive learned enough to do it.
  7. 1. A smoke and a pancake or, a flapjack and a cigarette or a cigar and a waffle, or a pipe and a crepe or a bong and a blintz. Either way I keep it light and stick to breakfast before the game. 2. I can't pick just one dude. I like Lee's game in New York, Tarasenko for the Blues is another guy. Byfuglien even though he's contemplating retirement is up there too. Kucherov is pretty talented too i guess. 3. What, I think 5? Doesn't really matter as long as the team is winning. 4. Again 5! 5. I mostly played with wooden sherwood sticks but I've recently switched it up a Bauer Composite Product. 6. Were pretty far behind the eight ball here, I want to be realistic and say no but FUCK YA WE CAN
  8. I'll take it!

  12. Seabass Perrin is settling in well in Prague after being selected in the last VHL draft 16th overall. He just finished purchasing his first home after signing his first VHL contract which includes generous bonuses. The home he purchased a condo right down the street from the Phantoms practice facility for convenience and just finished setting up his new pad with a nice view of the city of Prague. Not only did he give us a tour of his new crib but he also brought us down to his underground parking garage to show of his newly purchased classic BMW E30 geared with countless upgrades. Must be nice to be playing in the big leagues now I suppose. With the new home and car we asked Perrin if he had found much time to go explore around town. " Well no I've been so busy getting my life in order that I haven't had much time to actually go out and enjoy the town. I mean I went to a club with the guys before the season began but that's about all the exploring I've done. I plan to bring a date out to the Prague Castle next week if everything turns out so that should be cool. " We also got to ask him just what are the positives he can take so far playing for the Phantoms. " Well we haven't been playing well at all. But, one of the positives we can take from this season is the character and leadership we have on our young team. We may be losing but our spirit ain't crushed and we have to right players in place to make sure that the team doesn't veer too far off course when in comes to developing our team." The Phantoms are set to play toomorow against the defending champions, the Vancouver Wolves they've played well against the Wolves so far and we hope to see them come out with a win this time.
  13. 1.I'd say nobody is exceeding expectations right now which may be why we're not doing so well. 2. I like to go out with the boys and have a beer over a game of pool. 3. I try to be my own man out there. I dont pattern my game after any VHL player really. 4. Pregame meal usually consists of salad with some fish. Post game well after a win I'll treat myself to a good steak. 5. Never knew they retired numbers before but I think it would be a cool idea. 6. Well we need some consistency defensively. We play well for a game then play like shit for 4. We can't let up after a single good game

  19. Introducting The Prague Phantoms (Part 2/2) Alright as promised here is part 2 of my general introduction segment from last week's media spot. For whoever missed the first part it in this media spot I was introducing every member of the new Prague Phantoms as they are set to begin their inaugural season. I'm doing this bit to be able to showcase our team to our fanbase in Prague in hopes of getting them acquainted with their team. I left off last week with a short description of who the team had assembled to play up front for the Prague Phantoms inaugural season. I figure to do much of the same here in this week's media spot but this time I'll be covering the backend as well as the men between the goal posts. Prague was hoping to build their defense corps around the entry draft as they devoted two of their three top 20 picks in the draft to select defensemen, so we will begin this segment with the backend. THE DEFENSEMEN D - Wolf Stansson Jr. Well the Phantoms continued the Rush theme they had going and selected Stansson Jr. who was highly touted at the VHL Entry Draft after he went on a tear for the Yukon Rush of the VHLM whered posted nearly a point per game. He lead all Rush defensemen in points with 71pts and was only a goal shy of hitting the 20 goal mark. He was selected 12th overall but he could have very well gone sooner as I predict he'll be one of the steals of the draft. Stansson Jr. is not only skillful but has shown to have some leadership qualities as well as the Phantoms stitched an A on the rookie's jersey before he even played a single VHL game. He may not be a very vocal leader but he leads more by example. We predict Stansson Jr. to play most of the season on the Phantoms top pairing as he's a quality building block to build your back end around. D - Seabass Perrin Perrin was considered a reach when he was taken 17th overall in this year's Entry Draft. He had a 46 point season with the Yukon Rush last year playing on the Rush's 2nd pairing for the entirety of the season. He started off last year playing absolutely awful and didn't look like he even belonged in the VHLM let alone the VHL as he posted negative plus/minus in the double digits within just a handful of games. After a dozen games it changed and it seemed like Perrin had gained some confidence and turned his game around. Having been defined as more of a defensive defenseman in the past, it was quite a surprise to see him finish off the season with a whopping 12 Powerplay goals. The coaching staff in Prague must have confidence in his skill set as it's already been confirmed that Perrin is slated to begin the season playing alongside his former Rush teammate, Wolf Stansson Jr. on the teams top pairing. Might just be an experimental thing as neither Perrin nor Stansson Jr. have any VHL experience. D - Bert Meyers Meyers was one of two players acquired for a measily 3rd round pick in S70 from the Helsinki Titans. Meyers is coming after a bad season by his standards, scoring 29 points after setting the bar at 55 points in his rookie season in S66. But, considering Meyers has two seasons already under his belt, he's definitely going to be looked upon for some guidance as he is one of the guys on this young team with the most VHL experience so far so he better pull up his socks. He's penciled in to play on the Phantom's 2nd defensive line but can very well overtake Perrin if he can't handle the new workload, we'll see as the season goes on. D - Mountain Thunderfist Here's where things get more complicated as we'll see two guys fighting it out for the last roster spot on the blue line. Thunderfist got signed on as a free agent after being released by the New York Americans after only appearing in 9 games for the team. This giant of a man isn't known for putting much points as he's only put up 65 points in 5 seasons. However, his offensive game is not what makes him useful, this guy can simply just bang bodys and just take control of the physical game on the ice. Thunderfish also now has now 5 years of VHL playing experience under his belt so he's the most experienced man on defense. However after playing only 9 games last season you might think he'd have some rust. We'll see about that when training camp goes underway and he battle it out with Gert B Forbe for the final spot on the blueline. D - Gert B Forbe The other man battling it out for the final spot is yet another player who specialises more on the physical side of the game. However, he's not quite as physical nor as experienced as Thunderfist. But, he does seem to defend better overall so the battle for the final spot will be tight. Forbe as a recent S68 Draftee is much younger although and still has plenty of time to improve his game and get an inside edge on Thunderfist. Forbe may have finished with a -2 plus/minus rating and only 25points in the VHLM last season but he played for a pretty poor San Diego Marlin team so don't let those stats fool you. It'll be a interesting battle in training camp for that last spot though. Now here comes the goalie part of my segment, this section is a lot shorter as there's only 1 of them but, anyways, here we go. THE GOALTENDER G - Kolur Bjoernsson We figure the main man between the pipes this year will be Kolur Bjoernsson who was traded away by the New York Americans to the Phantoms in return for a 4th in S69 at the latest VHL Entry Draft. Bjoernsson played 44 games last season with the Americans but performed poorly overall reaching a save percentage of only .886 and letting in a average of 4.22 goals a game. In those 44 games he only ended up winning 7 of them for a winning percentage of only 16%. But, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt as the team that played in front of him was horrendous, but don't expect Bjoernsson to be the Phantoms savior here. That just about does it for this segment. As an new Expansion team I dont expect the Phantoms to have much success this season as they are still building their club and their team is still very young and inexperienced. But, the fans have to stay positive as the team has nowhere else but up to go as their players further develop and then hey who knows they might even become contenders one day. I hope you enjoyed the read, I appreciate all comments and suggestions and if someone could tell me how to incorporate pictures in my future media spots that'd be real nice as I'd like to work on getting these articles a lot more appealing to the eye. 1215 word count

  22. Perrin shares his thoughts on the season's first week The first week of the VHL season has come and went. Prague finished off the week with a disappointing 1-4-1 record which is only better than the other expansion franchise, the D.C. Dragons. We ended up reaching Defenseman, Seabass Perrin at a local coffee shop to ask him a his thoughts about his team's first week. "Before the season began the critics were already out saying we're going to be a terrible team this season. I'm trying to prove them wrong here and I used those comments to fuel some rage into my game a bit. Overall I feel like we haven't played that bad but we're nowhere close to where I want us to be of course. We proved however so far that we can in fact compete out there on the ice and we're not a team to be taken easily. We're all trying to be that team that's just a pain in the ass to play against. Because in the end a frustrated scorer doesn't usually tend to produce very much. If we can keep up our intensity and effort levels here and I don't see how we don't improve from this point on. We're a young team and we're only just getting started everyone. " When asked how he feels about his increased role as a member of Phantoms he also had the following comments: "I feel like I've been given a dream opportunity to prove myself here. The coaching staff has faith in my abilities and gave me and Wolf Stansson Jr. the unique opportunity to play top pairing minutes in our first respective seasons in the VHL. Nowhere else would I be playing the minutes I am now, I didn't even get top pairing minutes in the minors for fucks sake. Now I just got to repay my coaches the favor by giving it my all on the ice every day and hopefully the results will follow soon enough. "
  23. Introducing the Prague Phantoms (Part 1/2) The Czech Republic has had deep hockey history that's seen its peaks during the powerhouse Czech World Cup teams of the late 90s and early 2000s that included the likes of ex-NHLers like Radek Dvorak, Pavel Kubina, Robert Reichel, Petr Sykora, Milan Hejduk, Patrik Elias, Dominik Hasek, Martin Straka and Jaromir Jagr. These teams won an olympic title and three straight IIHF World Chamionships between 1999-2001. Well that was the peak until now, as the VHL has decided to include Prague as a destination for one of their VHL Expansion Teams this season. The country had been experiencing lows when it comes to excitement for the sport of hockey but that has all completely turned around as the Phantoms had already sold out of season tickets months before their inaugural season opener. The Czech's love for the game has revived itself after being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY by the KHL and lately much ignored by the NHL. In this article I plan to introduce the team members of the new Prague Phantoms. We're going to start with the forwards and work our way down from there. THE FORWARDS F - Erik Draven Draven was highly touted by the Phantoms as he was selected first overall in the expansion draft to become to the player in the teams history. Draven played a full season in the VHLM last year and has shown some excellent leadership qualities as a member of the Yukon Rush. Obviously those leadership qualities didn't go ignored as Draven was named the teams first captain in the team's history. He had a slow start in the VHLM last season but had a strong finish soon after being placed on the Rush's 2nd line where he found chemistry with fellow Phantom Willie Dredge. He ended his VHLM season a goal shy of 30 goals and a point shy of 60 pts. We predict Draven to start the season on the Phantom's first line as the team looks to build around his character. F - Scotty BigSotty Scotty is on of the bigger offensive threats on the ice for the Phantoms. He had a stellar VHLM season last year as he posted 31 goals and 52 points for the Philadelphia Reapers. Scotty was selected with the 7th pick of the Expansion draft. The Moscow Menace originally drafted the man 22nd overall in the S67 Entry Draft after his first season in Philly but surprisingly gave him up after he improved his point totals by 64 points. The Phantom are happy to take Scotty off the Menace's hands and he's rumoured to be penciled in as the Phantoms first line center this season. F - Willie Dredge Dredge was drafted in hopes that he'd recreate last year's chemistry he had with captain, Erik Draven. Dredge being a year younger than Draven was selected in this year's VHL Entry Draft with Prague's 19th overall pick. The Phantoms hopes he will build on his last season in the VHLM with the Rush where he had solid numbers with 22 goals and 53 points. The speedy winger will be deployed alongside Draven on the team's first line at the season's opener but he has to be consistent as the Rush have a more experienced Don Draper that could easily slide into that spot as well. F - Blake Laughton Finally some VHL experience. Laughton was acquired early on in the season from the New York American in a trade for Dalton Wilcox who was drafted in the expansion draft by the Phantoms but requested a trade to join his friend Frederik Elmebeck shortly after Elmebeck was drafted by the Americans. Laughton however will fit in well with the team on paper as he is one of a few members of the Phantoms to have previous VHL experience. Laughton had a 37 point rookie campaign last year for the Americans but his defensive play is something to be desired as he went -26. The Americans drafted Laughton hoping he'd bring some goal scoring prowess to their team after his 41 goal season in the VHLM. After letting him go for Wilcox after his rookie season, Laughton is looking forward to showing the Americans up and prove that they picked the wrong player. He is slated to being the season on the teams 2nd line. F - Don Draper Another player with some VHL experience Don Draper has all the tools to be a true defensive forward. Unlike Laughton he learned the defensive side of the game rather quickly but his offensive game is lacking as he only put up 17 points for Davos in his rookie season. Draper however thinks he can improve his offense this year and be more of a consistent scorer playing for his new team in what's going to be his sophomore season. If thats the case I can see the team give him more ice time but for now we will find Draper playing on the teams 2nd line. F - Zeno Miniti Miniti is another rookie here that's up to make his debut soon. Miniti although is coming off an incredible season where he lead the Founder's Cup Winning Ottawa Lynx in scoring and also lead the VHLM in points with his 55 goal, 134 point season. In the playoffs Miniti continued his high scoring ways as he put up 22 points in 15 games. With all that being said Miniti is probably the biggest offensive tool at the Phantoms disposal and it's a wonder how GM, Jasson Glasser was able to acquire him and defenseman Bert Meyers for a meager 3rd round draft pick in S70. F- Alex Pearsson Is another big scoring threat as he was chasing Zeno Miniti for the VHLM scoring title for a good portion of the season until he hit a slump. Still a campaign with 48 goals and 98 points is not something other teams will overlook. It was a surprise to find out that Pearsson wasn't lined up to play with his former Reaper teamate, Scotty BigShotty. Maybe this is a attempt to spread out the scoring by the Phantoms Head Coach, who knows. Pearsson will at least be paired with Scotty however on the teams first powerplay unit, so maybe we will get a chance to see them recreate some of their magic from last season. That does it for the forwards folks. Toomoorow I will be releasing the Defenseman and Goalie portion of this segment and I hope this article has offered some insight on our team for our fans in Prague. The team looks forward to your support and are anxious to get the show on the road.
