  1. "I had some jitters before the draft I'll admit. I knew it was going to be a big day for me and for my career and I was nervous to meet my new team. When Davos called my name I immediately proceeded to embarass myself by shaking the GM's hand and calling him by the wrong name. Haha, I hope he can forgive me as I'm now just really excited to be a member of the Davos hockey club." That was Steve French after being drafted by Davos 21st overall at the S93 VHL Entry Draft. I figured the draft would be interesting and even though I had conversations with quite a few scouting teams in the end I had no clue where French was going to go in the draft. He was ranked around 20th overall by scouting but ranked 19th overall in tpe. In the end by having Steve go 21st overall he becomes my latest drafted player in any VHL draft. Which if you've seen my activity trends lately I definitely understand why. I've been slacking compared to my past players. I'm happy to see French get drafted by Davos though. If you don't know, I've got quite a lengthy cupless drought dating back to s11 that includes quite a few finals appearances where my teams have fallen short. But, Of course I won that cup in S11 as a member of the Davos Hockey Club and I haven't played for them since. So maybe the only team I've ever won with can be the team that helps me break this curse.
  2. 1. I'd like to think I've been pretty clutch with my ability to score goals and I'd like to continue to do whatever I can to help the team. 2. In looking to break into a VHL squad hopefully and the VHL Draft is coming up so I'm not really invested in the VHLM too too much right now to be honest 3. Scoring goals, I've had decent puck luck and i've been able to find the back of the net. 4. My skating, I need to get faster to be able to keep up at the VHL level. 5. There ain't no rest for the wicked. I'll just keep commiting to my training and work with a powerskating coach to try to be best prepared for the VHL. 6. Labor Day. I like to go out backpacking during the labor day long weekend. I look forward to it.
  3. 1) I dont really know i've just been tuning the guy out to be honest. As long as we keep up our effort level I think we can keep the momentum going. 2) Obviously I'd love to win the Cup as I've never won it with any of my past players 3) Yeah I seem to have picked up the nickname Snowhead. It all comes from my typical shenanigan of throwing snowballs at my teammates heads during practices. 4) Fries and gravy is odd to some people. Idk I thought Kraft Dinner and Ketchup was gross but I tried it and it ain't bad. 5) Warhammer Fantasy 6)I don't remember it's been years. Must at least of been before 2017 because I was gifted a voucher for a free movie dated 2017 that I still haven't collected yet. In all reality I don't watch many movies and when I do I'd just rather be in the comfort of my own home and not have to deal with people or commuting. That and if I want to pause for a bathroom break or smoke break I can.
  4. 1. Put me on the first line 2. I'm old, my first player was in S7 won a Continental Cup in S11 and haven't won it since, been cursed ever since going even to what 4 straight finals appearences with Moscow and losing all of them. 3. I'm not sure I don't pay that much attention to what's going on to offer any real insight. 4. My younger self was wrong thinking that "quitting smoking can't be that hard just stop and you know mind over matter and dont be a pussy and you'll do just fine" It took me almost 6 years to finally quit smoking lol 5.Went skating in the woods on a frozen wetland area we shovelled a path on. 6.Cold. You can always layer up. With the heat there's only so many layers to remove and having to be wet all the time from sweat or just having to cool off is just gross. Nobody likes swamp nuts.
  5. This week we got to see the French Sensation, Steve French get drafted to the VHLM and make his season debut with the Ottawa Lynx. The Lynx are off to a hot start only earning at least a point in all but one of their 8 games played so far and are currently tied for 2nd in the league standings. French has been rock solid so far and has offered the team some good secondary scoring playing on the 2nd line alongside Juslaf Rajskovsky and Kevin O'Connor. French was selected at the draft with the 17th overall selection by the Lynx and has made quite the first impression as he currently sits among the top 10 on the VHLM scoring list. He's had 13 points in 8 games which is tied for 8th in the league. He's also 2nd in the league in total goals scored (8) trailing only fellow team mate Ivan Ivanov. I honestly thought French would go in the top 15 selections of the S92 VHLM Dispersal Draft and he fell just outside of that. Obviously, it's good for the Lynx and sucks to be the teams that passed on me as I'm sure they made a mistake there.
  6. 1) I just want to earn the trust of da coach and da team and give dem a chance to win every game. 2) To make da playoffs and hopefully win the cup. 3) I don't see why not we play strong game and if we keep dat up we'll be a good team. 4) He's the French Sergei Federov 5) Not really haven't been in da league long enough yet to build a rivalry. We'll see. 6) Skates like the wind.
  7. Today we got to meet up with VHLMer, Steve French at a local barber shop for a few quick questions. He was getting a fresh new cut and a shave in preparations for the draft. He's of course in town to attend the S92 VHLM Dispersal Draft in which he's finally eligible for after playing the end of the last VHLM season in Miami. Steve what do you have to offer VHLM teams out there? Well I'd like to tink I'm a pretty good team player out dere, you know alwayz looking out for my team mates and stuff, fighting if I 'ave to, I'll always 'ave their backs out dere. I'm also willing to go battle in the 'ard areas and get physical around the boards. I'm a good all around player I tink and I'll always try my best and not to fuck tings up. Where do you think you'll end going in the draft and is there any teams specifically where you'd like to go? I tink it would be pretty cool to just get drafted, I don't really tink I care where I go. Just being in da VHLM is a big privilege. Are you nervous for the draft? No, i'm just excited. I just want to know where I'm going and get the chance to meet some of my teammates. Right now is like Limbo, ya know? Anyways Steve thanks for the quick chat I wish you luck in the upcoming draft Yes you too.
  8. 1. Does Steak and BJ day count? 2. Haven't even played a game yet in the VHLM just joined up 3. Lets fucking do it. 4. Settlers of Catan 5. Confidence, we need to get a good win streak going to change that. 6. Typical fall weather, mild not too cold not too warm. Plus the added fall colors are just a bonus.
  9. alright lets do it roll me a d8 then.
  10. d8, it looks like two teams aren't very competitive so i'll rule those two out.
  11. Damn I really don't know what team to join here. I'm considering on just rolling a dice even

  13. Congratulations to the Phantom on the cup victory. Nice to see you guys finally get one.
  14. 1. I'm taking a break and i'm going to be gone backpacking while on vacation soon enough. Hoping to come back refreshed for next season. 2. It's the most important position in hockey it's never a bad idea to go after a goalie you like in the draft. Papa has been great for us and will be a awesome mentor for the kid just breaking into the league/ 3. I haven't really been paying attention to be honest, i've been taking a small break this offseason and I haven't stayed current with anything. 4. Different, for me I played well with Massif so he'll be greatly missed. Hopefully I can recreate some of that chemistry with my new line mates this year. 5. It doesn't matter what team we face, we're here to win games and that's my goal. 6. Of course! I do every year, it's been a great opportunity for uncapped tpe every season
