  3. Today's game against the House Bulls we saw the San Diego organization bring along family when they arrived, hoping to give their young team a momentum boost against a deadly Bulls team. 23 different family members from the players families arrived and the biggest crowd out of all of them was the Frobe family, bringing along 5 members of his direct family. In the 1st period they had something to cheer about when Szita blasted one past the goaltender on the power play near the end of a competitive period which would give the Marlins a 1-0 lead going into the 2nd. All family members were allowed in the dressing room and at the end of the period we saw almost half of them go meet up with their relatives, the other half rushed to the concession stands to get a better position in the line up. The siren rang and the families rushed back, In the second period we saw Houston dominate the young San Diego squad and didn't let them get a shot on net, after a even strength marker by Wilcox the Bulls tied the game and the crowd had something to cheer about, humbling the over zealous family members. In the 3rd period was the best bout of the night, the Marlins would go on and outplay their opponents but inexperience and endurance would catch up to them, they would let the game slip out of their hands after letting in 2 straight goals, they would give one last ray of hope when Duster scored and got his second power play point of the night but it was not enough. Family Night would end with a spectacular performance from the young guns and if San Diego were smart they would invite them to come along on games more often
  4. Week of July 15th To claim 2 TPE, answer 6 of the 10 questions below to gain full TPE 1. We're a few sims in now, not the greatest results but from what the Marlins have done, what excites you the most about the results? Seeing my player on the score sheet, I'm a big fan of statistics and even if we lose there is still tons to read and get lost in. 2. How do you feel about your personal performance thus far? Could be better in my opinion but others may say I'm doing great. Just want to keep improving and make my future performances even better! 4. What expectations do you have for us moving forward? Our team is going to be competitive shortly, we might not be at the top of the standings by the end of the season but I can see us being competitive all-around, might even ruin a few top teams days playing the stinker down the road. 5. If we could add one position, which one is most important and why? We need a pair of defenders I think, we could use anybody but if we can get a little more defense to back up Grimaldi and that will give us more chances to win. 6. Are you happy with your playing time over the course of the early season? Yes but wouldn't mind if I had to play less, rest is a big thing and I'm scared if we continue playing this much time we'll break. Obviously I'm knocking on wood because nothing has happened so far (and probably wont) but as much as I like being on the highlight reel.. I also like seeing my teammates smile and enjoying themselves. 7. If you had to give us a rival, who would it be and why? Saskatoon Wild. They were the second team to offer me a contract and I think since I turned it down they might want my head, thank god I have some tough teammates. Also, beating my buddy @diamond_ace makes the victory feel even better

  6. Big win to tie the season series and end our losing streak, we need more games like this
  7. We fought hard but it wasn't enough, gotta keep training and improving as a team
  8. Climbing the rankings ? TPE TPE TPE Nice to see all the new San Diego entries, now we all must climb together!
  9. Thursday, July 11th - San Diego, California With little experience and not much to go off of the managers of the San Diego Marlins held a team vote to decide their captains, it was getting close to the afternoon and emails were being sent to all players so they could get everybody together to make the decision before they went to training camp. All players attended the voting process and the locker room was active, a good sign for the newly formed club, each player took their turn going into the voting booth (bathroom) and made their selections, the last player was ready and as the door closes behind him the managers walked back into the dressing room to read the results.. And the first Assistant Captain for the Marlins will be.. And the second selection and a rarity to see in the Assistant Captain spot, the Marlins have decided.. And the player leading the way for San Diego next season is.. That's a captain in each position and leadership throughout the line up, some an inexperienced club will most definitely need. We caught up with GM Gagnon after leaving the San Diego facility and he had this to say after we asked him how things went.. "It went amazing," as he smiled with glee "the guys are all so active it makes my job easier."
  10. #6 = 1223 TPE Top Players RW Dalton Wilcox - RW Koda Adok - LW Teemu Lehtinen Jr. - D Khalabib Stiopic - D Banko Mulleto Like most teams on our list Houston is offense first and probably the most offensive oriented team but they do have defense to back it up. What they need to improve on would be getting strong players to defend their scorers and somebody that can man the middle on the top line. The Bulls have an interesting roster and one you could gamble on, they are well ready to be a top team right now and with a few minor adjustments they could see themselves at the top of the standings, specially if their already talented player can get a little bit more TPE. Finally, expect to see some sweet plays and good chemistry from their top line, they have 220 scoring between the three of them. #5 = 1419 TPE Top Players RW Erik Draven - C Frans Eller - LW Brendan Plunkett - D Lance Flowers - D Wolf Stansson Jr. Yukon has a lot of talented players to fill the whole roster but are lacking a goaltender. If you look closer at the players you'll see very good scoring and defense with outstanding skating which are three vital skills you need. They have very low discipline and I can see that being a problem during the season. At the end of the day I'm sure we will see plenty of competitive games out of this roster.. if they can find a competitive goaltender to match because defender Flowers is going to be blocking a lot of pucks if they don't. #4 = 1548 TPE Top Players RW Anton Edvin - RW Emil Passerelli - RW Kenji Hachimura - D Pierre Persson - G Thorvald Gunnarsson The 21st have a very strong offensive starting line up, the forwards have a pair of scary scorers in Edvin and Passerelli and Hachimura threads the needle. Their defense is offensive as well and Persson takes the shot most nights while two-way defender Gage works his tail off. Goal-tending isn't an issue for Halifax, Gunnarsson ranks 3rd among TPE earners on the team and will be the right man to hold the fort for them this season. If the team can acquire some shut down defensive players and possibly a center they can make a legitimate run at the cup. #3 = 1553 Top Players C - Zeno Miniti - LW Hunter Wagner - LW Anthony Hawk - C Thorny Underyew - D Cody Parkey Right off the bat I notice the team has only a few lines of talent but can put the puck in the back of the net, the team is lacking defenders and defensive forwards which has been a trend so far but if they could get somebody to fill that gap the Lynx could be in the finals. Anthony Hawk is going to be a problem and his shot is scary, they have a little bit of everything they need in skill for offense and don't need to improve on that at all. The only area I see that needs an improvement is depth defenders and forwards that can grind it out, if they can find a few or train a prospect to develop a different skill set this roster could be very dangerous and nightmare shift after shift #2 = 2064 Top Players LW Berocka Sundqvist - D Andreas Sundell - D Hugh Chan - D Danny DeYeeto - G Justin Cole The Storm have the best defense in the league and just enough offense to go along with it, making them a huge threat and the bottom teams should prepare themselves. They will hit and skate past you and goaltender Cole will most likely be making the VHLM highlights. The only thing Minnesota is lacking would be a top center and are going to need one if they want to get chances to capitalize on, they are far ahead of other teams and are going to have a great year. #1 = 2493 Top Players C Alex Pearson - LW Dylan Doyle - C Scotty BigShotty - D Brandon LeBlanc - D Conor Adrienne The Reapers have by far the most players and best talent and has enough TPE to split the team in two, definite cup contenders and award winners all over their roster. If the team could acquire any type of player it would be somebody to fill their already great depth but other than that expect to see them dominate next season because their top line all has 1,275 TPE between them and they have depth players bottom teams would dream to have along with a back up goaltender. Is there anything this team cant do? Seriously.. They deserve to be in a different league!
  11. What do you always do before a game? Well I wake up earlier than I usually do so I can get some cardio in and after that I eat a nice and healthy salad or something similar, not the most interesting pre-game ritual but I like to relax and make sure my body is ready for the full 60 minutes. What do you think of our current roster? It needs work but very promising, there were probably a lot of calls made during the off-season and I'm sure some are still being made. The staff have done a great job so far acquiring players and I have faith the roster will fill out and by next season we'll be competitive. What are your goals for the season? I'm aiming for 100 TPE right away and earn the extra 10, if I can manage to assist a fair amount of goals I'd be happy with my performance. Still new to the league and I know I could have an off year, no worries though, I'll be earning TPE along the way and improving my skill. What do you think the team could improve upon? Right now we need an active goaltender if we want to compete game after game. Tell me something the GM and AGM should know about you? I'm a hard worker and like to get things done, expect to see me around all season. I also like the Ottawa Senators, not sure if I've shared that with the team yet.. um burritos are delicious. Next question! How would you describe your game? quik and agile, crisp passing point producer with a work ethic that will drive you nuts. Expect to see highlight play attempts almost every night, I live for the moment and if I can get a chance on the breakaway watch out
  12. This is the time when players get drafted, ink new contracts and teams scramble to fill their rosters with late additions and transactions, welcome to the off-season. The season is around the corner and today we are going to rank the best and the worst rosters thus far, giving you an early look before the new season officially starts. Some teams are a few moves away and some are far from competitive, today we are going to look at the worst TPE totals, thanks for tuning.. lets get started! #5 = 1015 TPE Top Players LW John Perdue - LW Tormund Giantsbane - D Anthony Amberback - D Fylo Gibbles - D Kefka Palazzo Saskatoon is very defensive and all their top players can take the puck away and and it is clear they have more defenders than forwards right now but will help them compete against the higher rated clubs until they find some more offense. The Wild have yet to sign a goaltender and that will only cause more stress on the general manager and take his focus off of building his team until he finds the man for the job. #4 = 992 TPE Top Players LW Jason Connors - LW Nick Kirkpatrick - RW Ryan Busser - D Donat Szita - D Ryan Chism GM Zack Gagnon has had a lot of food on his plate since trading away all his picks and not acquiring any players at the draft. San Diego went threw a total rebuild and started fresh, acquiring nine different players this off-season. The biggest addition was Szita, who will man most of the defensive minutes this season and a rookie goalie Steel who has yet proved himself but is currently the only goaltender in the organization and it only cost the team a 3rd round pick for a pair of players they needed. #3 = 459 TPE Top Players LW Hayden Clarkson - LW Lexington Lewis - D Charles Drumm - G Virgil Ligriv - G Lukas Schweitzer Lets start with the team having two goaltenders, that isn't something they need without having any forwards or defenders to cover them, Ligriv is the teams best player and Schweitzer is the teams best rookie. If the Aces can figure out what kind of roster they want to construct they have the pieces to acquire and plenty of rookies to develop but they are going to need to put in work because the season is close and being organized is a must if they want to win and be successful. #2 = 448 TPE Top Players C Eeli Harju - LW Waluigi De Rossi - C Hunter Edwards - D Hiromu Takahashi - D Walt Sanguinetti The Kings have an all-around roster but the area they need to improve on is offense, they only have a couple shooters and not a lot of passers and that wont make things easy on them if they want to produce like the other teams in the VHLM. They have a good base and will be able to adjust mistakes before they happen. What the team really needs is a group gym session and tons of meetings to spread knowledge and gain strength, the compassion is there but the work effort is not. #1 = 414 TPE Top Players LW Chett Bandy - C Alexander Shaw - RW Jaxon Walker - D Daman Veyalon - D Noah Hanley Mississauga is at the bottom of the league with the lowest total TPE earned and hasn't made a lot of movement this off-season, leading the way with the most experience and skill is Bandy, a quik goal scorer and only valuable player they own as of right now. They did draft some good rookies with potential but have yet to develop into a key player for the Hounds. The one thing the team does have is a solid top line with good chemistry, the scouts will be attending a lot of their games because who knows how good their prospects could turn out with all the extra ice time at an early age.
  13. Player Biography Ryan Bobby Busser May 20th, 1994 (age 25) Vancouver, Canada Parents Ryan Busser was born in Vancouver on May 20th, 1994, as the son of Bob Busser, a Canadian professional and Olympic cricket player, winning gold in 1982, and mail lady Karen Wilson. His father is native american and born in Canada. His mother, an American from Detroit. Bussers' father was playing a tournament in Michigan when he met his mother. His parents were both athletic and ran in many marathons. in 1983 after only a year of dating they would marry and plans for the future started, having a child was first on the list. Birth It was a late afternoon on a Tuesday and the Price is Right was on, pregnant Karen Wilson was home alone and all of a sudden she felt sharp pains in her stomach, she then called her sister right away, she wasn't due for another four months. After that they jumped in the car and rushed to the hospital, when Wilson woke up the doctor spoke with a disappointing tone, after a long chat he finally told the sisters the baby may not make it and had a fifty percent chance of living, due to strangulation by the umbilical cord and had to have the operation immediately, while father Bob Busser was away overseas and had no idea of the circumstances. With luck and hard work by the doctors at the Vancouver General Hospital, Ryan was born, weighing a scary five pounds two ounces but healthy. Childhood Ryan grew up a single child and had a lot of attention from his parents, his father had him playing sports at the age of five and was involved in football, basketball, hockey, soccer and cricket. His father took him to the gym all the time and even brought him along for the ride whenever he played professional tournaments, teaching Busser discipline and what it took to be an everyday athlete at an early age. Allergies One day in the Summer of 1999, his father took him to go get a bite to eat after completing their daily workout routine, they decided to go to Bert's Hot Buns and fries and after a few bites in Ryan had a life altering allergic reaction, resulting in a ambulance ride to the hospital, later told he was allergic to red meat, the family was supportive and changed their diet, removing all beef and pork from their grocery lists. Public School Busser was a class clown and was friends with most of his classmates, like most kids some sports are not for them and end up liking other activities more than others and at the age of ten, it was clear Ryan was mostly focused on hockey and with hard work and his father motivating him, he was named captain of his high school team at King of Whales Middle School. He would watch the Canucks play whenever he was allowed and collected over a thousand hockey cards in a couple of years, leaving the others kids in the dust at the local young center but his favorite thing to do was going to Vancouver games, it was hard for his family but they tried to buy as many tickets as they could and became a usual gift for his birthday and Christmas. When Busser was fifteen he started to getting noticed by scouts, after winning back-to-back championships in grade nine and ten, and making the local newspapers sports section several times would go on to accumulate 101 points, assisting an outstanding 78 times in just 38 games, setting plenty of records and receiving a plethora of awards along with class honors. Ryan would join the Vancouver Giants the following year. This would change his social behavior, going from funny and outgoing to focused and barley seen. Vancouver Giants After receiving and talking to the Vancouver organization for months he decided to join the team for a tryout, the decision came with a lot of sacrifice if he made the roster. As months passed Ryan started to focus more and more on hockey. The time had come and Busser was ready to attend the life changing tryout and by the end of the day he impressed the Giants, making the team and days later Busser signed a three year contract. In his first season in the Western Hockey League he ended up playing fourth line minutes and was the extra man on the power play, the Giants didn't make the playoffs. In his second year with the team he had even more opportunities and ice time but that came with a lot of responsibility, he ended up having a solid season and made the finals playing on the second line but his team ended up getting swept. Ryan would go on and win the Most Improved Player award and at the age of eighteen. Ryan was in the final year of his contract and wanted to give it his all to impress scouts, at training camp it showed and he was named Captain of the team, he would go on to win the Most Valuable Player award and lead the Giants to a Western Hockey League Championship. Russia Busser was hopeful and wanted to be drafted into the Victory Junior Hockey League, he got ready and his family joined him in the stands but his name was never called on draft night, with no other option and frustration he decided to fly to Russia and play in the Russian Junior Hockey League but he had to rush there because the draft was days away, he would arrive on time and was drafted fifth overall, he would then spend the next five seasons playing in Europe and developing his game, he made four All Star Games and won a championship. Comeback Ryan was a free agent again and had a huge decision to make, continue playing in Russia or try and get a contract closer to home, he spoke with his parents and they were in favor so he told his manager to get his name out there and after 5 years and plenty of Vodka, Busser was home, signing a one-year contract with the San Diego Marlins and will make his Victory Junior Hockey League
  14. Name: Ryan Last Name: Busser Position: Right Wing Jersey Number: #8 Age: 25 Height: 5'8" Weight: 172 lbs Hometown: Vancouver, BC Handedness: Right Busser missed the VHLM drafted years ago and never got drafted into the league, after that he declared for the RHLM draft instead and ended up being picked 5th overall by Moscow-Spartak Spartak where he spent the last 6 seasons, winning a championship at age 23 and racking up 342 regular season points in 358 games . Now at age 25, Ryan will be a member of the San Diego Marlins, signing a 1-year contract worth 1.5M and will finally get his shot in the Victory Hockey League Minors sliding into a top six position on the right side. Regular Season Playoffs Pros Skating - He has explosive speed and has potential to be one of the fastest players in the league if he continues practicing, with his small size it's easy for him to dash past defenders and go 1 on 1 with the goalie, they called him the "roadrunner" when he was playing overseas. Puck Handling - He is best known for his slick moves, with plenty of tricks in his bag at least somebody will get embarrassed every game, he has hundred of highlights playing in Russia and many of them have over a million hits. This is his main skill and you'll most likely see it shine in the VHLM. Passing - He possesses unique ability to find his teammates for shots anywhere on the ice, despite being blocked by players much larger than him. Some scouts say he just gets lucky but others are calling him a magician, this is something we'll have wait and see when he plays on a higher stage. Cons Checking - You won't see another player that checks less, hits are rarely taken and non-lethal, the impact will hurt him more than the person receiving the hit. He usually tries to find space instead and stay away from anybody on the ice and never learned how to check when he was younger and it is evident. Strength - You see most players go to the gym everybody but you wont see him go at all and he's allergic to most kinds of meat so that kind of rules out a lot of potential. The spot you will see him is on the track most often than not and if you catch him at lunch expect to see him eating a salad. He doesn't believe in working out and the healthy life style is easier to maintain and claims it yields better results but the research has yet to be done. Don't expect this area to improve during his career. Defense - You would think a speedster could easily keep up with other players in the league but in the Russian Hockey League Minors he rarely attempted to help his team on defense and when he did it was like the team had a 5 on 4 most games and the coach only gave him short shifts but a lot of them. If he wants to compete with the big boys this is something he has to improve on. Overall Ryan Busser will be a great addition to any lineup with his very unique abilities and should be a great player for years to come. He will bring loyalty and competitiveness and wants to prove he can do what it takes to be a top player in the Victory Hockey League Minors.
  15. @InstantRockstar I accept Sorry diamond, need as much ice as I can get and I like the Marlins offer a lot, I have faith that the roster will fill out and I want to help the team grow What will my contract look like? Rookie minimum right?
  16. Thanks for the amazing offer, hard to turn that down. Going to look around the forum and give it a little time before I make my decision
