  7. FUUKKA RASK INTERVIEW Q: Can you fill us in a bit about your background in hockey and who your role models were or are? Can you tell us about your own goaltending style? Can you also tell whether you adapt or change your game when you go from competing with younger players vs older players ? Rask: "I started playing hockey at age 8 and have been a goalie since I was 10. My first full year as a goalie my parents enrolled me into a goalie school run by Oli Pekkanen and he was (and still is) my idol growing up. I was fortunate enough to end up teaching at the goalie school and am still in contact with Oli. I’m a butterfly style goalie and try to make use of my athletic ability and reactions. I feel one of the biggest differences in Juniors vs VHLM games is patience and timing. In the Juniors it’s a lot of reaction saves because of the hard passes and shots, whereas the VHLM they tend to read the play more, so as a goalie you have to be patient and make the right save choices. I averaged over 28 shots a game this year with my team in the few games i played and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being in games where the goalie can be the difference maker. When you’re facing that many shots a night you have that opportunity. With my junior team however, there are nights we only see 10 shots and that’s just a credit to our team’s strong defensive play. Those nights aren’t always the most exciting but they are sometimes the games you have to be the most focused because your team is playing so well. If it’s a tight game you don’t want to give up that goal on one of the few chances the opposition gets".
  8. Game Recap Conference finals game 7 This is the moment where big players rise above and help their teams win in a pivotal game 7. Any true hockey player has been in their driveway, on the street , or on the pond and imagined they are in game 7 overtime. The puck ends up in an open area , you steal it oh no breakaway. This could win the series. He dekes one way , then another and he scores !!!!!!@!! Moscow was attempting a big comeback, after being down in the series. Their star goaltender Emeritus will be taking home lots of for his impressive individual efforts. Can Emeritus carry his team to a miracle comeback? Lets see. Final score Ot1 Warsaw 3 Moscow 2 Emeritus made 63 saves and Wumbo also was spectacular and made 60 saves. The game ended in ot off of Kissinlingers 9th goal of the playoffs. 12. Game Recap VHL PLAYOFFS GAME 47 DAVOS DYNAMO VS MOSCOW MENACE FINAL SCORE: OT MOSCOW 4 DAVOS 3 Ex VHL foward turned Sportsnet broadcaster, Sigard Gunnar had this to say about the game. Gunnar: "Honestly will this be that pivotal game where we look back and say the Davos Dynamo let one slip away right through their fingers? I hope not. Davos held a 3-2 lead midway through the 3rd period , thanks to a beautiful goal by Vinny Detroit. He skated down his off wing , deked one way and went around the defender the other way and immediately ripped a shot that beat Emeritus five-hole. Detroit looked up and blew a kiss towards Vladimir Puttin who was in attendance. At this point things were looking great for Davos , after losing game 1 they really needed this win. All the Dynamo needed to do was shutdown the Menace. The rest of the period was back and forth. Moscow pulls their goalie at 18:30, and scored immediately at 18:40. Henry Le Massif had a bouncing shot sneak past Davis. What a crushing blow for the Dynamo. Overtime was all Moscow they ended up outscoring Davos 6 to 1. In a span of a few seconds Moscow had 5 shot attempts. The 5th by Jason Argos was the game winner. Let's see if Davos can even up the series with their next 2 games at home. " Disclaimer: I needed this due to being trigger happy with trivia I dumb dumb
