Fuukka Rask Junior Review Fuukka Rask is the son of Finnish athlete Helmi Rask. Helmi is a single mother and is also the older sister of NHL goaltender Tuukka Rask. Fuukka's uncle Tuukka Mikael Rask was drafted 21st overall by the Toronto maple Leafs in 2005. He was eventually traded to the Boston Bruins in 2006 where he played his entire career. Rask won 1 Stanley Cup in 2011 as the backup goaltender. Fuukka grew up in Savonlinna , Finland. He dreamed of someday being a professional hockey player just like his uncle. In his younger days Fuukka's mom couldn't afford to put him in hockeynin Finland. It wasn't until her brother made it big in the NHL, that she could afford to move to the United States. Fuukka moved in with his uncle in Boston at age 8 and began training with his uncle. Fuukka did show natural athletic abilities but his skating was subpar. He began playing ice hockey as a defensemen and goaliew when he played ball hockey. Fuukka really shined when he switched positions to goaltender at age 15. It wasn't until Fuukka was 18 years old when it seemed like he actually had a chance to make a career out of playing hockey. He joined the Boston Junior Rangers a AAA team out of the The New England Edge Elites of the BHL . In his first and only season as their goaltender he put up impressive numbers. His record was 28-6-2 in 36 games played. Fuukka had a 0.931 sv% , 1.94 GAA and 7 shutouts. These numbers were good enough to win him "rookie of the year". Fukkaa Rask suffered a high ankle sprain during his first game of the playoffs. Then reaggrivated the injury while trying to fast track his rehab by training too soon during the off season. This setback caused Rask to miss half of the following season. Now unsigned and no team to call home, Fuukka made himself available to all teams of the VHLM. As a free agent he received multiple offers from about half of the teams but decided to sign with the Philadelphia Reapers as their backup goaltender. Fuukka is determined to continue to improves a goaltender. He will have a lot to prove and dreams of one day being drafted to a VHL team. It will be interesting to see what this next chapter brings for the young goaltender .

GAME RECAP GAME 418: HC Davos Dynamo vs. London Anyone who likes a huge goalie battle would love this game. David Davis vs Cole Pearce round 1 fight. After 3 period Pearce saved all 34 of Davos shots and Davis stopped all 24 shots London launched his way. At one point Chara who ended up leading all Dynamo players with 11 shots, had a breakaway. He remembered the triple deke from the Mighty Ducks movies. He rushes down the ice and counts. One deke , two, three and takes the best shot he could. "Ding" he beats the goaltender but hits the post on the glove side. Chara skates to the the bench and says: " one Inch to the left and I would have scored". Vinny pipes up and says: " but one inch to the right and you would have missed the net completely" London won with just their 3rd shot in overtime. THE END
