Review: Legend! Love the idea and concept of this graphic. I do feel like if it was rushed. The jersey color change has the whole jersey tinted read but would have looked better if maybe only the trim was red. Some of the numbers in the boxes are not cantered vertically and are overlapping the borders. Specifically the goals total number. I appreciate the effort put into the added effects on the graphic. I know it’s tough to get into doing tasks every week but just taking even 10 extra minutes to clean a few things up will go along way. Overall it’s good and I love looking back on players careers in Calgary. Rating 6.5/10

Review: Very cool seeing you doing graphics. I like how you attempted a logo swap in the jersey and it turned out pretty good. You kept the colouring very consistent which makes it appealing to the eye. My biggest critique would be space management. There is a lot of empty space on this graphic and I think just increasing the size of the font and logo on the left side would help with that. Increasing the size of the player render to be the main focal point is always a good idea as well. All in all this is a very solid graphic and I hope to see you do more. Rating: 7/10

In an alternate reality, Daryl Dixon was just a regular trailer trash kid from Northern Georgia. He was delivered on the floor of his luxurious double wide trailer by his own parents. He was welcomed into the world with an alcoholic father, self centered mother and a brother who took out all of his frustration on Daryl. A home of abuse with no where to turn too. Even school was a place where Daryl couldn't stand to be. Constantly bullied because of where he lived and who his family was. This led young Daryl into some pretty dark places as a child, that is until he met Rick. The two met in elementary school when they were only 8 years old. Rick came from a police family and never really went through what Daryl had as a child. These two became friends because of their differences and learned to help each other through the tough times. Daryl was a very introverted kid who didn't want to get involved in any sort of activities. Rick was always trying to pull Daryl out of his shell and get him involved in different things but this wasn't very easy. One day at home Daryl was flipping through the channels on his TV when he came across a VHL game between the Calgary Wranglers and the Chicago Phoenix. He was amazed by what he was witnessing. The speed, the physicality and true team work really drew Daryl in to liking hockey. He liked it so much so that he told his buddy Rick and they both started looking into whether or not they could play hockey in Northern Georgia. Daryl started playing hockey at the age of 9 with a minor league team in the town next to his. He had a ton of support from his teachers who helped link him up with a program that supplied new gear and looked after financial costs for kids in poor communities. His first season in minor hockey was a rough one. He could hardly move on skates and when he did he would end up on his ass. The one thing he had going for him was his grit and determination. After a full season of development under his belt he could finally move around the ice fairly well. He spent all of his first offseason training on his own. He found a pair of rollerblades at a local garage sale and spent all summer playing shinny with his buddy Rick. Coming into his second season Daryl tried out for the "elite" team. He knew there was no chance he would make that team but wanted to see where he stacked up against the rest of the competition. Little did he know all that training had paid off. He had a great tryout and made the elite team in only his second season as a player. The coaches couldn't believe the progress Daryl had made in such a short period of time and knew there was something special about this kid. He started on the 4th line with the elite team as he adjusted to the pace of the play. Within a few short weeks he had moved himself further up the line up and eventually was getting the most ice time of any forward. He learned systems, powerplay and the penalty so quickly that he was being used in all situations. His team would end up losing in the championship finals that season but that did not deter him from wanting to continue to work hard and become a better hockey player. Daryl Dixon had an amazing support system throughout his early hockey career. He had coaches, teachers, teammates parents and so on helping Daryl every step of the way. Providing him with the resources to be able to learn and play to his fullest potential. It wasn't long before he was moving on from the local elite team and playing for the state elite team. Not long after that he had college teams knocking on his door trying to recruit him into their systems. What Daryl will always remember is that day he was flipping through his TV and seeing his first VHL game. He knew the path he wanted to take as soon as he realized he had the potential. College was not an option for him, he wanted to take the path that would get him into the VHL. Once eligible he declared immediately for the VHL Minor League and now his dream is even closer than ever. He went from a broken home to becoming one of the next bright starts of the Victory Hockey League. No matter the situation you're in, never give up. Have people in your life that never give up on you like Rick not giving up on Daryl. Word Count: 803

RECYCYLING!!!! Honestly, having veteran members showing interest again is great to hear. It’s also nice to hear some of the ideas you guys are talking about behind the scenes. The M has made some great changes since you two have taken over.
-
I do agree with you. A GM should come into an M job knowing what the expectations are. As long as we have applicants ready to fill future M GM positions then there is really no need for change.
-
What might be an interesting option would be allowing M GMs to allocate tpe from their own pay to hire an AGM or Mentor to help assist with new members.
-
M GMs make double what VHL/E GMs make for this purpose. They are a crucial part of retention in this league and if they aren’t providing that for rookie players then they shouldn’t have those jobs.

Put me down for a drunk cast as well. It’ll be collective effort, so for every 1$ spent I will do 1 minute of podcast time and anyone who donates may ask me a question per 1$ spent that I’ll answer on the Pod. I’ll even get @tinafrombobsburgersto join to me. -

Life sure does get busy when you work full time, have a wife that works full time, two kids who are in competitive hockey and then add in all of my hobbies such as the VHL. I am LATE, yet again but I will not go one season without handing out our team awards. Lets get down to business! Top Shelf Award The Top Shelf award is given to the player who scores the most goals during the regular season. This years leading goal scorer also led the entire league in goals winning himself the Kevin Brooks Trophy. Fun fact, this is the first time in FOURTY seasons that a Calgary Wrangler has won the title for the leagues leading goal scorer. Leading the way with 51 goals in 72 games for the Calgary Wranglers was Daniel Janser. @Daniel JanserCongratulations! Rybak Trophy The Rybak Trophy is given to the player who leads the team in scoring during the regular season. Daniel Janser @Daniel Janser also takes home the scoring title for the Calgary Wranglers and also walks away with the league scoring title earning himself the Mike Szatkowski Trophy. This is the second time in three seasons that a Wrangler has won the league scoring title but this time was Janser's time to shine. He led the Wrangler's to one of their best seasons in recent memory and put the league on notice showing that he is now among the leagues elite. Last Line Award The last line award is given to the top defensemen during the regular season. We had a few defenders who had an excellent season in season 85 but one took a huge step in his development and had his name in talks for the Dustin Funk Trophy as the leagues most improved player. Sadly, he does not walk away with the Funk but he will walk away with the Last Line Award. Congratulations to AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. Jubis Memorial Trophy I just want to give this award to our whole team! We have so many great members already doing so many great things throughout the league. I am only going to give it to one player and its going to be the member who also walked away with the Elmebeck Award. He has clearly made a positive impression in the VHL and every season he makes a positive impact for our team. Congratulations to Leandro Goncalves @leandrofg. The Sheriff's Badge The Sheriff's Badge is pretty self explanatory. The Sheriff's Badge could go to anyone on our team as we have many voices in our locker room. The Season 85 Sheriff's Badge is going to Landon Wolanin @jacobcarson877. He has been a leader in on our team ever since joining the team despite never holding a leadership role. All that has changed now as Wolanin has been voted by his team to be an Assistant Captain for season 86. Loved by his team mates and loved by the league, Landon Wolanin absolutely deserves this award. Young Buck Award Calgary always seems to have some good young players brewing in the system down in the minors. This player has been working hard, training regularly and it really showed with Vegas last season. Larry Abass Jr. @RileyL is the Young Buck of season 85. He surpassed the 100 pt plateau with the Las Vegas Aces helping push them to be the top team during the regular season. He continues to grind away in the VHLE and I expect we will see Larry suit up for the Wrangler's in season 87. Most Valuable Wrangler This was a tough one to decide on. We had a number of players who had excellent seasons but the player we have chosen just feels right to give this award too. Saku Kotkakoivu @DollarAndADream knew that this would likely be his last season with the Calgary Wrangler's and despite that had one of his best seasons of his career. He hit 97 points in 72 games but led the team in hits and all but one player in +/-. He was amongst the players in the running for the Boulet Trophy in season 85 for his recognition as one of the leagues best two way forwards. Its absolutely heart breaking to see him leave our organization but I am grateful for the time and dedication he gave to this team. Congratulations Saku Kotkakoivu on winning the season 85 Most Valuable Wrangler Award.
