Tough to see another one go. We’ve had many talks with lots of ups and downs but I respect you as a GM and a member of this league. Goodluck in the future and I hope we see you back GMing sometime in the near future.

After an extensive search and interview process which was one of the most difficult I have had to go through, we have officially hired our new AGM who will be starting right away. He will be working alongside myself and our current AGM @Greg_Di. Greg will be stepping aside once the season comes to an end. Welcome me in congratulating @Ben as the new Assistant General Manager of the Calgary Wranglers. I am happy to have him join our organization as I am a big believer in second chances and creating a better image of one’s self. Now let’s get to work!

I didn’t do much for the JST haha. I was pulled so many different ways with Commissioning the WJC, the Victory ProAM, The JST and managing Calgary. Unfortunately my involvement lacked in the JST because of it. -
I agree with Fubbles! 45-75

I want to be respectful as possible here because it is such a minor thing to be complaining about. I would like to request that the VSN Crew gets its purple color back for the role on Discord. When the moderation team made their most recent hires they made the executive decision to just take away the role color that VSN had for so long and are now using it as their own. This hasn’t sat right with VSN members since the change happened. VSN members spend a large portion of their time producing content for this league. If you haven’t read many of the articles or seen any of the art work I implore you to go read through and have a look at some of the work that members in our very own league are producing. Now I am not suggesting at all that the moderation team isn’t working just as hard dealing with matters throughout the league. This however shouldn’t give them the right to take something so simple from another faction of the league that works equally as hard. So I ask, Please! Can the members of the VSN have their purple role color back? They deserve that tiny little bit of recognition for the hard work that they do. Thank you, Ricer13

Just one other small thing that I add into my decision is the activity of the player. There’s a number of players with high points but very minimal earning that I didn’t vote for. I wanted to reward those who are doing a good job and earning more every week or are showing more activity and involvement in the league. Everyone on this list above got at least one vote by someone so it’s nice to see so many players getting some re cognition for their success!

Review: There is a lot that I like here. Your placement of everything is on point. The backdrop works well, the use of two separate tenders is a nice touch and the autograph is really cool. A few suggestions I have are: -Spend even more time on the logo! You did well swapping it out and angling it nicely. There is a “warp” tool that I find fun to use which you can make it conform to the jersey even more which gives it a realistic feel. -Font! It’s placed so well in this photo but it is very plain and basic. It’s tough to want to spend more time on the font when you’ve spent so much time on jersey and logo swaps but the font is such an important part of a graphic. -It is very wide. Some people like this but personally I find it too wide. It’s more or less playing around with the sizing more and trying different things. Overall it’s a very cool graphic. I just wanted to give some constructive criticism. Rating: 7.5/10

I actually ran something similar against them in our playoff series last season as a test and we took them to 7 games. Ultimately we lost but it did work well.

Calgary is sadly losing their AGM @Greg_Diat the end of this season. Exciting things are happening in his life and I am thrilled for him even though that does mean we will have less of him in Calgary. I want to thank him for everything he’s done for us and he will be sticking around for the remainder of the season to help the new AGM get accustomed to how we do things. I am looking for a member who is eager to learn and will be a vocal part of our team.It would be great to have someone I can bounce ideas off of, help me scout and draft, and will keep me in check when my trading addiction runs wild. If you are interested in this position please comment below or DM me.

1) 5-3-2 lolz! Pretty average start I would think. 2) Absolutely. Reinhart has trained consistently and is ready to lead this team to a championship. 3) Reinhart, Nasherov, Eagles 4) I am participating this season. I think team looks really good so far. A good mix of offense, physicality and an amazing goaltender. 5) To be honest I am not really a practical joker. I love jump scaring my kids but that’s as far as that goes haha. 6) My jokes are more puns or dad jokes. Any long winded inappropriate jokes are a thing of the past.

I would also like to back what Alex is saying about inactive players. In no way, shape or form that M, E or VHL GMs should be playing inactive players over active players. Yes we want good competition but how is that good for retention if players are getting no ice time or points. If all teams follow the same rule of activity>inactivity then the playing field will be fair.
-
They wouldn’t need to play bots if they just sign players to come play in the VHL rather than in the E. If it’s within the rules there is no issue with that outcome, it just inconveniences the E GMs who should be able to manage around that.
-
If VHL teams don’t have enough players for full rosters how are E teams supposed to have enough? Each league should have a minimum requirement and as nice as 6-4-2 is, it isn’t always going to work out that way as the league numbers continue to fluctuate.
-
Don’t love the “VHL GMs making a mistake” part. Unfortunately teams are going to have to be at the bottom of the league and teams rebuild. The VHL needs to maintain a minimum roster requirement as well which is important. I don’t want to sit here and pretend the VHL is better than the VHLE but it should take precedent over players within the guidelines of the rules. The issue that I think is the biggest, is the lack of communication between the VHL and VHLE GMs. I like Jansers recommendation of implementing a timeframe that VHL GMs are allowed to call up these players. If they don’t call them up then they are now the VHLE teams property for that following season. We need to work together and I don’t think relegation is the answer at this time. Could be a solution down the road but all other avenues should be looked at first. Relegation would be pretty fun though but could get messy!

It does start with the GMs and not just in the VHLM but throughout all levels. I look at an LR like Miami when I was running that place and the amount of members that came out of that team that are now prominent members in the league. All it took was a GM who cared enough to put in the time to check in regularly. Once you got people talking and getting to know each other the activity sustained itself and retention remained high. That same effort hasn’t changed since moving up to the VHL as a GM. Continuing to progress the resources we have to help new members learn how the league works and what they need to do to succeed will also go a long way in helping people stay. It’s really hard to navigate this league when you first join. There are resources to help make it easier such as TPE Guides and build tutorials but we can always continue to improve on those to help new members better understand.
