  1. It was a stand out year for Guy Sasakamoose. We sat down with the Riga D-man to ask him about his plans for the off-season. It seems to have been a great year for Riga having made the playoffs once again. So Guy, how do you feel about this season? I had my best year yet, but I don't feel like I've grown as a player. It's great to really turn into a top line defense player for Riga. I just hope I can keep this up. I have a feeling next season is going to be a struggle for me. Speaking of next season, do you have any predictions for how Riga will do? I think Riga has a solid chance to make the playoffs again. It also feels like our last big chance to get a cup. Hopefully we can make a solid push this season and not enter rebuild mode too early. It sucks to see Past @Kylradretire but that's how it goes. We've only got Tate @Tate, Phil @Phil, and Eagles @Greg_Di for 1 more season so we need to make the most of it. The VHL draft just happened, are there any exciting additions to the Riga line up? We just drafted Jeffrenomitsu @Jeffie43 in the draft and they've got me excited for what they'll bring to the team. They recently had a great year with Houston and put up some great numbers. We also picked up Matt Thunder @Matt thunder, and while it'll be a season or two till they join Riga, I think they'll grow into a great player. What are you personally going to concentrate on this coming off-season? I've lost a step in my defensive game. I really need to go back and shore up my basic skills. Having 5 seasons in the VHL starts to take its toll on you. After I get back to feeling my old self I'm going to work on my offensive skills. I'm not gonna lie, having your best point scoring season just makes me want to score more. Tate is a power-house when it comes to his offensive game and I'm going to have to fill those shoes. It's going to be a really tough off-season but hopefully I can step up to the challenge. Everyone tries to stay in shape in the off-season, but what are you going to do to relax? Lately I've been really into track day cars. My GM really hates the idea of me speeding on a track but it's just so much fun! It's even better when you can manage to get in some organized racing. There's something about the feel of the car under you that really gets the blood flowing. On top of that I just really enjoy watching races. The Formula 1 season is going strong. It's a little rough to watch the races with my hockey schedule but I watch what I can. I also really enjoy watching some endurance races. It's crazy that a group of people can manage to get a car around a track for 24 hours straight. Well thank you for your time and I hope you have a great next season.
  2. 1. I think Helstinki was just the better team. We gave it our all and just couldn't make it. 2. I think with the cap these days there wasn't much we could do. I think overall we have a great team. 3. Glad we could get @Kylrad one last cup. He had a great career. 4. Sadly Seattle won another one 5. Helstinki 6. I think we all missed a step this season and couldn't keep up with the growing teams. 7. Elvis Nostoppins 8. Hedgehogs. Penguins are sometimes cuter but overall hedgehogs are consistently cute.
  3. yep
  4. I demand a redo. I wasn't paying attention before. Congrats Helstinki
  5. There are reports that Guy Sasakamoose is finally getting his act together. Many thought Sasakamoose's career was completely over after winning a cup. It's been clear Sasakamoose has been on the decline the past two seasons. To the point where there's been almost no growth in his skill this season. It was reported by multiple sources that Sasakamoose had given up his career progression after finally lifting the Continental Cup in season 72. By all accounts this was the truth. Season 73 has been more than disappointing on a personal level for Sasakamoose even though his team managed to make the playoffs once again. Now there are murmurs that Guy has been seen in the gym getting back into game shape for season 74. It's clear that things won't ever be the same as his junior and early career, but most are excited to see him getting back in the game. We managed to catch up with Guy to see what exactly happened with his career and what is causing this change now. Guy, what has caused this decline we've seen in the past 2 seasons? Well it was a lot of things. The world was shutting down and a lot of other things got in the way. I needed to worry about my own personal life instead of my career. I do wish I would have at least done the bare minimum but things happen. The hockey scene just didn't give me the same inspiration and excitement as it use to. I ended up dropping most of my interest in sports all together. How'd you feel drifting from the league? It was tough. I did my best to stay active with all the different groups I've been involved in. But ultimately the time just wasn't there for me. Priorities changed and I just couldn't keep up with everything. The league kept growing and I just couldn't grow with it. There have been reports you are starting to get back into shape for the league. How's that going? It's slow for sure. I've had my best season yet, but I feel this might be my peak. I've gotten big plans to gain momentum for my progress this off season and we'll just have to see how that goes. It's not going to be easy. I don't think I'll ever be as good as I use to be but I'm hoping to finish out my career in Riga and at least make a difference for our team. New people are showing up and I just haven't been there for that. Any final words? I'm excited to see what the future holds for me. I know my career isn't going to finish strong like it started but I at least want to finish it. I burned out early but hopefully I can recover things enough to be a decent player in my final seasons. It feels weird to be an old player now. It seems like so long ago that my career started. Hopefully this is the first of many appearances I'll make to try and get things started again.

  11. For the theme week I decided to create a graphic for Apollo Hackett @Renomitsu. To me Reno really exudes what this community is about. It seems like they are constantly everywhere and anywhere they are is a better place. Reno excels at helping their teammates feel better, helping new players, or just being there if some one needs it. How they have the time to do all they do amazes me and the VHL is a better place with Reno.
  12. Oh snap Thank you
