  1. 1) 6-4-0 record after week 1, are you pleased with the teams start? I think we could do better, but I don't know if we will. All I know is our scorers have to be scoring and we need to minimize penalties. 2) Are you happy with your players performance so far this season? Not really, I'm Kyle Andersen (All-VHLM defenseman and Reapers HOF inductee). I should be tearing it up but I'm not. 3) Erik Summers fresh off a rookie start is leading all Titans in points. Why do you believe he has been so effective thus far? His tactic is just being better than everyone else. 4) Which club do you most look forward to facing? HC Davos for sure. Derek Eriksson's there and I love denying him goals with my super slick defense skills! 5) Which TV series did you last binge? I'm currently binge watching Yugioh! 6) Have you picked up any new hobbies during this period of isolation? All I've really been doing is school work and watching nostalgic shows.
  2. It's so hard being good at VHLM hockey
  3. I want to play football!
  4. 1. Who wins the Continental Cup; Moscow or Calgary? I believe in Moscow, they're straight from the Siberian Tundra so you know they're tough as nails. I think they can pull this one out. 2. How have you been spending your off-season so far? Spending some time off catching up with friends and family, but also spending a good chunk of time training. I want to be in the best shape possible for next season. 3. What is your preferred mode of gaming (Console or PC) and what game have you been playing most recently? For me personally, I play games on PC. I typically play league of legends but also dabble a bit with CS:GO but that game has lost it's charm for me. 4. If you could be the creative director for the next NHL video game, what would be the first thing you add or remove? I would add myself to the game as an unlockable character and give me a 99 overall for every stat. 5. What activity do you most enjoy during the summer? Chilling with the boys. 6. What is your favorite sports memory of all time? Being able to witness the St. Louis blues and the Washington Capitals win their first ever Stanley Cups in back to back years. I know a certain individual who's a big blues fan and I know how long he's been waiting for this.
  5. 1. Playoffs are underway, how has your post-season gone thus far? Can't speak for the VHL but my post-season with the Reapers wen't poorly. We were swept 4-0 and didn't score a single goal in our first 2 games of the series. 2. What is your favorite way to travel on game day? I like to travel by train. I've always been scared of flying. 3. What is your go-to drink on the bench? Gaaaaaatoraaaaaaaade. No but really, I love the taste of gatorade, but I typically mix it up between that and water. 4. Do you jump over the boards or use the bench doors to get on and off the ice? I jump over the boards because it makes me feel cooler. I'll use the doors if it's being held open though. 5. During pre-game warm-up what are you focusing on? (ex. shooting pucks, skating, stretching etc.) I typically focus on shooting and skating. I was one of the highest scoring defensemen in the VHLM and the fastest skater on our team. Consistency was key for me. 6. Its your first shift of the game, do you look to send a message to the other team with a big hit or push the offense to get scoring chances early? I typically look to push the offense for more scoring chances. I used to be a hyper-aggro defensive guy who would push anything in sight and it cost me a lot of penalty minutes. I can't risk doing that to my team again if I want to be an asset.
  6. When I think of the words “Future great” or “Hall of famer” there’s no other person that comes to my mind than my VHLM teammate and long time friend Derek Eriksson. The man always had a gift when it came to hockey. From the time we were kids up until now, he always had presence on the ice. His background: As some of you may know already, Derek also comes from a background riddled with tragedy. Losing his parents at a young age, it thrust him into a depression that almost stopped him from playing hockey permanently. Luckily for both the Reapers and I, this period of depression wouldn’t be permanent. He decided to give hockey one last shot and in doing so, found a spark when playing that he never experienced before. I firmly believe this passion, intensity and grit that he plays the game with is the reason why he will eventually make it into the VHL hall of fame. His Reapers Debut In our first season playing together on the Reapers, he ended up signing 10 games into the season. It didn’t matter though, because even with the missed playing time, he still made a very strong impression and caught the eyes of several VHL teams. He went on to finish his rookie season with a solid 19 goals, 36 assists for a total of 55 points and a +/- of +18. What I don’t think anyone could have predicted is how strong of a precedent this would be for his performance the next season, as well as how much he would end up improving during the off season. From Draft Prospect to Draft Steal? Even with a performance like that, it’s no surprise he would go early into the VHL draft, getting drafted by the D.C. Dragons under the management of GM Enorama, and possibly making himself a candidate for steal of the draft. I’m sure all the other teams that opted to pass on him are going to realize their mistake once Derek starts adapting to the level of play in the VHL. Either way, the Dragons have scored themselves an insanely talented prospect. Making his Mark This new found success wouldn’t stop Derek from keeping his eyes on the prize though, as he would improve by leaps and bounds going into S70 in the VHLM. He would go on to finish with some pretty mind boggling stats including 48 goals, 50 assists for a total of 98 points, and a +/- of +68. I don’t think any of us could have predicted how fast Derek would improve, and how much of a mark he would leave on both the VHLM and on the Reapers organization. An Uncertain Future I’ve heard rumours that he may be looking to stay down in the VHLM for another season, but I think he’d only doing himself a disservice by doing this. Derek has the work ethic every GM wants, and the raw talent every player dreams of. The combination of these two qualities as well as his performance in the VHLM could help him go far, so far that I think he’ll be a hall of famer. If Derek can stay focused and perform in the VHL, then I think he’ll be a shoe-in to be inducted on his first ballot. @DirtyDerek @Enorama
  7. 1. The final week of the regular season is upon us, what has been your highlight? Outperforming myself last season in goals and points 2. On that note, is there anything you are disappointed of? Being 46-19 in the VHLM and only having the 5th seed. I think we have a good team but I'm shocked we're not top 3. 3. Which Titan prospect are you most excited to see called up next season? "Dirty" Derek Eriksson 4. Ben Hafkey has more than doubled his career high in points. What have you seen from his play that has contributed to this success? He doesn't force scoring opportunities. I think a big part of this is that he trusts his teammates to set him up properly and help create openings and opportunities to score. 5. Who do u believe makes the cup final out of the North American conference? (VAN, CGY, SEA, DC, NY) I think DC can make a decent run. Like the 17-18 VGK, they're a team that has no business doing as well as they have been on paper but are consistently winning games. They're not a team that should be slept on by any means. 6. In your opinion, what was the most shocking deal from the NHL trade deadline? VGK opting to trade Malcolm Subban, Slava Demin, a 2nd round pick AND a 5th round pick for Robin Lehner and Martin Dzierkals
  8. 1) About 20 games left in the regular season. How are you feeling? I'm not entirely sure. I feel like we're not playing to our potential. We have 4 or 5 of the best players in the VHLM and we're still not even close to being top 3. That being said, I still think we have a lot of upset potential come playoffs. 2) Philadelphia has recently had some strong wins against top-ranked teams. How does that project as we move to the playoffs? While we may be 5th, the top 4 teams are all very close to each other in terms of W/L. Going back to what I said in the first question, I think we have a lot of upset potential and could possibly make a run at the finals. 3) Philly has 3 defensemen in the top 10 scoring list, Kyle Andersen, Griff Manzer, and Richard Fitzwell. How does our offensive minded defense help the team? It gives us a lot more options in terms of who has scoring potential. It means our power play is even more deadly as we're not restricted to just 1 or 2 players who can make a play. This also means that the pressure to score isn't entirely on our offense. 4) Is there a team you’d like to face in the first round of the playoffs? Who? I would love to play San Diego. They've had our number for the better part of the season and I would love to have the opportunity to knock them out in the first round if we could. 5) Some sports players recite a mantra, a short phrase meant to maintain focus and/or hype themselves up, what is your mantra? "It's not over until I win" 6) For a charity event you have to juggle the most dangerous hockey related thing you can handle. What are you juggling? Goalie sticks.

  12. @DirtyDerek thanks for being my first recruit! If you don't mind, could you leave a comment here confirming I was your recruiter?
  13. 1. How are you feeling about the teams performance after a 6-5-0 start? While I think we have a really offensive team, I hoped we could've had a stronger start. While I still think playoffs is within the realm of possibility, I hope we turn things around soon so we're not just another middle-of-the-pack team. 2. How are you feeling about your personal performance thus far? I haven't been called up to the VHL yet so all my performance has been in the VHLM. I think my performance has fallen since last season. Maybe it's the other teams getting better but I still think I should be playing better than I currently am. 3. We lead the league in scoring with 44 goals in 11 games. Do you believe we keep this trend going or do we transition to a better balance of offense and defense? I think this trend can continue, but I also believe it's in our best interests to invest in being better defensively. All the goals in the world won't matter if our defense and goaltending is as effective as swiss cheese. 4. What do you miss most from the time off during the off-season? I don't miss the off-season at all, I'd rather be playing. 5. Does your player shy away from post game media interviews or do they adore the attention? I wouldn't say I adore the attention, but I enjoy giving my thoughts on both the VHL, my team and myself. 6. Playoffs are a long way off, but do you think Helsinki climbs to the top of the conference before the season concludes? I think it's possible, but our 6-5 start isn't very promising. I think if we want any shot at climbing to the top, we have to be better defensively and our scoring has to be more consistent.
  14. 4-2 Helsinki
