  2. Due to coming over halfway through the season and the early exit in the playoffs this off season has felt like a drag for Kadachi, he said to us during a phone call. Kadachi briefly returned to his home country of Russia to visit family, the stay was ten days long before returning. During that time we were able to set up a phone call with him. "I've been working on my game none stop and been dying to know my next home for the upcoming season, I wanna know who I'm gonna be playing with so I can get to training with them already." The VHLM draft is last scheduled out of the three. The VHL draft is set up for Sunday, a day later the VHLE and two days after that the M. It's clear the wait is killing Kadachi but it won't be much long for the winger and he can watch the other drafts to pass the time. There's a possibility he goes in the first round if some of the players ahead are going right to the VHLE, otherwise Toby Kadachi should fall somewhere in round two. While Kadachi feels his goal scoring ability may not show up this season as his focus is on his all around game it is something he's hoping to re-find as he heads into the VHLE and VHL in the future. 3. 1. Seattle sea crumbs 2. Business as usual by the sounds of it. 3. A little I guess? My mind is to focused on where I could be going in the M draft. 4. probably when kadachi got his first goal 5. Pizza pops 6. CSI, I just love murder mystery type stuff, helps that CSI has had some really good characters.
  4. 1. I hate it because I'm still bitter about the S70 draft. 2. Probably the standard fill it with beer and drink out of it. 3. Likely Yaboi Oven just because he's so far ahead of everyone else. 4. retool would be my guess. 5. Lots of practice and training for his first full season in the M. 6. I'll say a 4, he was solid but didn't provide much scoring,.
  5. The Houston Bulls were taken out early in the VHLM playoffs, loosing to the Ottawa Lynx in five games. The Bulls had one of the most stacked rosters in the M and had plenty of depth but the Lynx just seemed to have their number all season long, even after new additions and players developing further they just couldn't find the answer to beat Ottawa. What makes it sting more is that the Ottawa Lynx lost in five in the next round against the Marlins in five. To put this in perspective the Houston Bulls recorded 106 points in the regular season for second place overall in the standings, the Ottawa Lynx had a mere 63 points. The Marlins had 105 points and had no problems with the Lynx, it's just one of those oddities, like Houston had some kind of mental block against the Lynx and played down to their opponent. Regardless Kadachi has said his farewells to his teammates as he looks forward towards the S90 VHLM dispersal draft. He's hoping he might get to reunite with some players from that Houston team as well as develop his play as he had trouble making a true impact during the season. "It would be fun to play with some of the same guys again, all of them were great, and if Houston was able to bring back in the draft I'd be happy to play there again. I'm putting in a lot of effort this offseason to learn the VHL style of hockey, it's definitely different than the KHL." (word count 260)
  6. I always wanted to play for the Red Wolves purely because of how much I liked their logo, and now I can't DX I joined back a season to late.
  7. 1. I was hoping Kadachi would done a bit better but I think it comes down to low ice time (which I was fine with) and kind of spreading out his TPE into a bunch of different stats. We'll see how well he does in his second season in the M. 2. Well I would have guessed around 225, we ended with 238 so not to far off, we are 3rd highest. And ya I think I will keep in touch with some of my teammates, hopefully we play together on some future teams. 3. I really don't know, for whatever reason the other team just had out number. 4. No, because winning the cup is a team trophy. You can have a HOF career but never win the cup because your stuck on a bad team. 5. Assuming your talking about players, me and Slapshot always enjoy playing against each other or on the same team. Each of our players have played together on the same at some point. 6. Hey thanks AJ for bringing me in, it was a great team to play for after being away for some time! Good luck with your future endeavors! And thank you to Triller!!
  8. NOOOOOO DON'T LET ME GO TO DAVOS!!! I'm still bitter about the S70 draft lol.
  9. claiming for July 23rd as long as triples for VHL's 16th birthday
  10. It's that time again, to talk until I hit that magical mark of 500 words!! While I've stated I don't intend to max cap every week with my current player, something I already failed anyway since I forgot to do an article last week, I was at least intending to max cap for the first few weeks to get Kadachi off to a strong start. Anyway enough about that, it's the VHL's 16th birthday!! And there's no way I can miss out on that sweet sweet TPE! Trying to remember wasn't there a theme week for like talking about what we were doing back in 2007? or something like that? I remember making a media spot on something like that. Could have been something else entirely, it all starts to mix together when you've talked about so many different subjects. Regardless it's always hard to believe this league was created the same year games like Halo 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Assassin's Creed were released. A time when I wasn't even ten years old yet. A time where the Wii was our main gaming console for me and my brother. I've been here for four of VHL's 16 birthdays at this point, joining very late the 2010's, another way to look at it is I joined right as the VHL entering it's teenager years lol. It makes me wonder, when compared to other sim leagues, and I don't just mean hockey, how does the VHL stack up? It might be the oldest hockey sim league but what about compared to basket ball, base ball, football, and soccer? I don't have much knowledge of sim leagues in general, the VHL is the only one I partake in, and even out of the ones I named I'm unsure if all of them actually have sim leagues, I just assume they do as three of the four mentioned are part of the big four (the other being hockey of course) and soccer is quickly growing and I imagine everyone knows of it. There's other more obscure or less popular sports that have sim leagues I imagine as well. Do any of them cross the 20 year mark? Do any of them predate the turn of the millennium? Which at that point are any of them older than I? Some of the oldest sites I'm familiar with are Ebay which has been around since 1995 and Deviantart, a site less than a month away from it's 23rd birthday. 16 years is nothing to scuff at regardless, it's to the point where there are users here that are younger than it, so carry on VHL, here's to another 16!! I need to drag this on a bit longer so I guess I'll talk about playoffs? I joined the Houston Bulls, as did a few others after me, the team is full if familiar faces, Slapshotdragon (I know it's bear now but I prefer the old name) Bana, rory, Moon just to name a few. When I joined the Reapers where ahead by 15 points if I recall, but we've taken that down to 9 and finished 1 point ahead of the Marlins. Considering the huge separation in points between teams, Kings are 21 points behind the Marlins, it feels very much like there are three super teams this season. So imagine most will be taking one of those three to win it all, with most of course taking the Reapers, here's hoping we can stop them!! (word count 584)
  11. You know what's funny? I meant to max cap my first week back but I totally, totally forgot about doing an article. Been so long that I forgot you do there of the smaller point tasks and then something big like a media spot, so that's a whoops on my part. Anyway the season is over and Toby Kadachi was around to play 22 games, I thought I'd delve into some stats since I'm still getting back into the flow of things. Kadachi only put up 4 points in those 22 games which I can't say is to surprising, Ori struggled a lot in the first half of his season in the M, and I'm I'm pretty sure that was with higher TPE since it was before the rework. I am aiming for Kadachi to be more of a goal scorer than a passer so I have to say the only one goal is disappointing. Thanking despite the low point totals it doesn't feel Kadachi was hurting the team at all, he ended with a +5 and averaged 13 minutes a game, he was also used on the penalty kill a fair bit. My goal with Kadachi is make him a power forward/sniper, a little bit of both if that's a thing. Throws lots of hits and scores plenty of goals, he'll likely get in some fights too. He had 10 major penalty minutes and threw 25 hits. Houston Bulls are a great team and I look forward to see how far we can go!! (word count 255)
  12. This is a great milestone review, I think you covered each goal well in good detail, I think you have it sorted very well, not to drawn out but not to short. I like the picture you got along with the text and the player quotes at the end. While it's not the flashiest post I don't think it needs to be, the plain text is fine and the use of italics for the player quotes is smart. Overall 10/10
  13. 1. 10-1-1 2. 236? 3. For the E I haven't played a proper season in it yet so it'll be my first time, I'd like to play for the red wolves. For the VHL, Nighthawks, Dragons, Phantoms, Legion, Phoenix..... just wanna play on a team with one of my favorite logos. 4. I'd love it if he did but.... likely not, I'll say he finishes top 5 though. 5. Play some Monster Hunter before every game. 6. Courtesy Call by Thousand foot krutch
  14. Oh? You just came back from a break I take it?
  15. 1. Forgive me as I have recently come back from a long break but I think it's a good trade, got four great Defensemen and Moon is a great guy! 2. Ya.... about that.... have you seen me? 3. It's good, funny enough I think I typed up a MS some time ago that would have worked perfectly for theme week. 4. Well..... considering I'm even newer to it, he should be telling me what to beware of XD 5. Relaxed coach, I'm hard enough on myself, I don't need a coach digging me into the ground when I mess up. 6. Probably need to stay in touch better with people, I'm really bad at that.
  16. claiming for week ending July 16th also claiming doubles from donation

  18. Hello hello!! After two and a half seasons off I am back for a third go around in the VHL. For anyone not familiar with my username my previous players where goalie Jaxx Hextall who played for Halifax and Minnesota in the M, winning a cup with the latter, and spent his entire career with the Toronto Legion during his time in the top league. Jonathan Ori was my second player, he play for Minnesota in the M in which they had a run to the finals before moving up, he'd spend most of his career with Helsinki but would make stops in Seattle and D.C. Now I look to create a new story, a new career once again. I've mentioned in previous posts how named my last players, so what about my newest player, Toby Kadachi? Well it's simple for anyone who's played the more recent Monster Hunter games, he's one of the "monsters" you can fight. I always found the name really fun to say, probably annoyed some friends with how often I said it. The only detail to note here is I did change the spelling of Toby, in Monster Hunter the actual spelling of it is Tobi but I decided to change it, because why not? People will still get the reference. For this third go around a goal of mine is to definitely take things easier, I spent most of Hextall's career and all of Ori's career max capping and it definitely wore me out. definitely a part of the reason I took as much time off as I did, I didn't feel like one season would suffice. Not to mention with longer careers now it's even harder to keep that up. My goal in terms of TPE is to at least hit 1000 but I don't know if I'll be hitting 1500 or 2000 as there are now three players who have. I'd love to join that 2K club but I just don't think I have it in me. Happy to see Ori is still in top 15, he's fallen down to 11th now but should still be up there for a long time to come, Hextall has been off that list for some time now of course, 1500 TPE players are completely wiped off of there now. Another reason why I waited as long as I did to re-join was to come back right around the time I first joined 20 seasons ago, yes I first played in season 69, coming in a little over halfway through the season. Now that I know the VHL better though I made the choice to wait till after to trade deadline so I'd be a S91 draftee and dodge the stacked S90 draft. (though I may have been told that the S91 draft is pretty stacked to, we'll see with time). Well I think that's enough for this MS right? I plan to be using the welfare button a lot more for Kadachi's career and just make I'm getting the other stuff done, like pressers, trivia, articles that kind of stuff. I will be working on some VSN stuff for sure as they have kept the door open for me, thank you so much!! I'll see you guys on the ice!! (word count 545)

  20. I am honored to be mentioned here too, crazy that both my players have been brought up for this theme week, tells me I'm doing something right. I'll be back in the game soon enough.
  21. I am honored to be mentioned on your list, Ori never quite reached the heights I hoped for him but still very happy with his career. Could dish out the apples while still netting about 20-25 goals. I look forward to returning soon with a new player.
