If any of this is aimed at me since obviously I've brought it up a lot in my S63 Draft Rankings quite a bit, you made a post in the Draft discord (I was able to see it as it had been used for a VHLM Draft when I was a VHLM GM) at the end where you said "I'm good with what I have" while it was in the middle of a round (so would probably have been able to pick a player had you wanted to), so it wasn't like I've said something where there was conflicting evidence saying otherwise. But for the record, I do think that drafts should continue until there is no longer a player that a team wants to draft, regardless of if any other team votes to stop picking.

We've just come off the back of a very strong draft class, and this one will aim to be just as good as the last one. So far, it's heading in the right direction as the players in this draft class have earned 98 more TPE than the last draft class had at this point of the season. Like the last draft class, there's a lot of players in this draft class that are experiencing the VHL for the first time, so here's a breakdown of the top 10 first-gen players in this draft. Ryan Zabby @RyanZabby Recruited by Ryan Kastelic from the Season 63 Draft Class, Ryan Zabby is currently the top-TPE first gen in this draft class and, while he's not too far ahead of his nearest competitor, his 128 TPE gives him 30 more TPE than any other player in this draft class. In terms of his per-week earning, Zabby has been a consistent 8 capped TPE per week, and hit 10 capped TPE this week. He's also taken part in every event point task that has been available to him, boosting his TPE capabilities. At the same time though, there are some players that are earning equal or more than Zabby, so if Zabby wants to maintain his lead, he may have to start submitting for Trivia or Reviewing to get the 12 TPE that would see him difficult to catch. Gucci Garrop @JG10 Gucci Garrop may have joined two weeks later than Zabby, but he hasn't let that hold him back as he's only 9 TPE behind the leading first-gen. Currently averaging 11 capped TPE per week, Garrop is currently the highest capped TPE earner in this draft and has every chance of overtaking Zabby for his number one spot among the first gens. The way that Garrop has earned 12 per week has been through his reviewing, if he continues to submit for that or Trivia to have him reach 12 TPE per week, he's going to be a terrific VHL prospect. Jagger Philliefan @Philliefan Nathan N @NathanN I'm grouping these two prospects together because they are similar players with similar stories. Two more recruits courtesy of Ryan Kastelic, Philliefan and N have been in the league for 5 weeks and have been consistently adding TPE to their player. Both predominantly stick to welfare, however Nathan did submit a point task for the Mid-season PT while Jagger tends to submit for more of the additional PTs, like press conferences or Trivia. While continuing this will see them become solid VHL prospects, they risk being overtaken by other talents below them unless they start participating in other capped PTs like VHL.com articles. Piotr Jerwa @majesiu Jerwa joined the league three weeks ago and has made a very promising start to his VHL career posting an average of just over 10 capped TPE per week, a rate that has seen him climb to a point where he is within touching distance of players that have been here a few weeks longer than Jerwa, a very impressive feat given that he has yet to submit his Rookie Profile or his Biography yet. Now that Jerwa has a role as Brand Executive, that gives him the ability to hit the 12 TPE cap on a regular basis and make him one of the most sought out players of this draft. Note: Majesiu did have a player called Jaroslav Wolski in the S63 Draft Class, but since he never earned TPE for that player and retired very quickly, I've elected to ignore that one. Elias Dahlberg @Nykonax Dahlberg is the sixth highest first gen, but he is the highest first-gen to have been recruited courtesy of our recent recruitment drive which saw us get mentioned on TacTixHD's YouTube channel. Dahlberg has used his Rookie Profile and Biography to propel him up the ranks early on to a very respectable 73 TPE and also managed to rack up 10 capped TPE this week.If he keeps up that pace, or even improves upon that by submitting for either Trivia (when it reopens) or reviewing, his future looks extremely bright! Brick Wahl @BladeMaiden We move from the highest ranked first-gen of the recruitment drive to the highest ranked first gen who is only in his first week with the league. Thanks to submitting both his Rookie Profile and Biography early on along with submitting 10 capped TPE worth of point tasks, Wahl has already added an extra 35 TPE to his player this week. It's obviously very early on in his career, but if he were to keep on earning TPE at the pace he currently is, he might even become a better player than the original Brick Wahl! Mark Gebauer @Sova Sova is another player who joined the VHL only this week, but he has gone about earning his TPE a slightly different way than Wahl, using the Affiliate PT system in the same manner as Gucci Garrop to count as his point task while also submitting for his press conference and a Rookie Profile. Should he complete his Biography at some point and a VHL.com article on a weekly basis, he'll be running around the same pace as Wahl coming is and, at the center position, that would make the German a very enticing prospect. Eric Parker @Eparker24 Parker was a player who joined towards the start of the recruitment drive and thus far has done a solid job of improving his player, submitting his Rookie Profile and earning 8 capped TPE this last week. Like this draft class just gone, defensemen seem to be the elite prospects in this draft class as, despite ranking 12th out of all prospects, Parker is only the 5th ranked Defenseman. Should he continue at the pace that he is though whilst also maybe adding a VHL.com article to his resume, Parker will feature higher up both the overall rankings and his positional ranking. Joel Ylonen @Esso2264 Ylonen joined the league at around a similar time as Parker and Dahlberg and thus far, he's proven to be a solid prospect, earning 6 capped TPE per week in both weeks he has been in the league. This will see him on his way to becoming a solid VHL player, although if he were to submit VHL.com articles or submit for the 6 point point tasks instead of the welfare, that would boost him up the rankings and have him challening Gebauer for the third best Center in this draft class. So looking at this and wondering what opportunities are available for you to climb up the rankings? Well, here are all the ones available to you! Weekly TPE - You can do either a 500 word Media Article, a graphic or a 10 minute podcast (all VHL related) which will earn you 6 TPE. Can do one per week. - You can do either a 150 word VHL.com Article or a Player Card (Example of a player card here) for 2 TPE. Can do one per week. - You can submit answers for my VHLM Press Conference for 2 TPE. There will be new questions posted every week (You'll be tagged when there's new ones) - You can review other members Point Tasks for up to 2 TPE per week, you can find out more about it HERE - You can post in the Practice Facility thread for 2 TPE. There will be a new topic posted every week There's also a few other one-time only ways of earning TPE - A 500 word Rookie Profile for 8 TPE - A 1000 word Biography for 10 TPE - You can submit for the Yearly Award Predictions, where you will win 1 TPE for every award you correctly predict at the end of the season - Since you all earned $1.5M from joining a VHLM team, you can spend $500K of it at the Player Store on the First Generation package for 5 TPE. Sorry this is a day later than usual, got my new PC yesterday and I must have completely forgot about this. If you've already answered enough questions in other press conferences to reach 2 TPE for this week, then you do not need to answer these questions (These questions here do NOT grant an additional 2 TPE on top of the 2 TPE you've already earned from asking/answering questions in other conferences). 1) The VHLM Draft has now concluded, which team do you believe had the best draft? 2) Of the players that were selected, who do you think has the potential to be the biggest surprise? 3) With the VHLM rosters starting to take shape heading into the start of the season, who do you think will be the best team this season (You can view the teams HERE) 4) What are your thoughts on your new General Manager (If you also have a VHL team, you can use this to talk about your VHL GM) 5) How did you find out about the VHL? 6) If there was one thing in particular you would like explaining about how the VHL works, what would it be?

Back to Whitehorse: Rhett Stoffiday goes back up North
Tagger replied to Stoffiday's topic in VHL.com Articles
From a quick check, it wasn’t claimed as a media. Looking at it, he claimed a VHL.com article with exactly the same content that was created 2 mins after this one, my guess is he created that one after looking for the link to this one and not being able to find it cause it was in media. -
Sorry that this hadn't been updated since the weekend, I was busy with out-of-league stuff on Monday and the Mock Draft and the draft itself on Tuesday took up more time than I anticipated. The good news now though is that, since this is the primary draft now, this will be getting more attention through posted updates whenever a player in this class adds TPE + weekly rankings which will break down the draft class in further depth!

Kastelic has been at the top of the rankings for the last month and is a perfect fit for a Riga Reign team that not only could use a player like Kastelic right away (he immediately joins the team as their highest TPE defenseman) but also a team that really has no right to be picking in this position in the first place given the talent on their roster! I believe if I am not mistaken, the 364 pre-draft TPE accrued by Kastelic is a league record (believe the previous was Mason Richardson's 348 TPE back in Season 40), which given that Kastelic joined two weeks after the trade deadline, had no carry-over and potentially has an absurd amount of TPE to follow through his recent recruits, who knows what heights Kastelic can reach! 2 – New York Americans (From Helsinki Joseph McWolf – D It was a bit of a curious decision to see New York willing to give up their early second rounder in this very deep draft in order to move up one place in the first round given that any one of the top three players look like they'll be fantastic contributors to their future VHL franchise. However, I would be surprised if the VHL League Mock Draft suggesting Joseph McWolf would go 2nd overall to the Helsinki Titans just prior to the trade happening was not a coincidence. McWolf doesn't have the recruiting reach of Kastelic or Julian Borwinn, but he is a super-consistent max-cap-per-week player who will engage in all activities available to him and will be a great initial piece for the New York as they aim to start their rebuild properly this season. 3 – Helsinki Titans (From New York) Julian Borwinn - LW Going at number three here, Julian Borwinn has every chance of doing in the VHL what fellow third overall selection Michael Jordan did in the NBA. Accruing 327 TPE in the lead-up to this draft without any carryover whatsoever, Borwinn has bested the likes of Beketov, Victor and DollarAndADream with his pre-draft earning despite the fact that he had no carryover and joined two weeks after the trade deadline. Despite this, the League Mock Draft was undecided as to who would be third overall between Julian Borwinn and Tzuyu, despite the fact that Borwinn has earned over 100 TPE more over the course of this season. Yes, Helsinki need defensemen, but they certainly aren't full on forwards by any stretch and considering Borwinn is a one-of-a-kind talent (he's already only 2 TPE off of Dan Montgomery, the highest drafted first-gen in the last draft), you simply don't pass on that. 4 – Helsinki Titans (From Toronto) Tzuyu - D 5 – Toronto Legion (From Seattle) Dan Wilinsky - RW Devise isn't going to know what to do with himself with all these first round selections! This is an interesting selection dilemma as the Legion are looking a lot different now in comparison to what they were in my original mock drafts which presumed they would still have the likes of Sebastien Ironside, Robert Malenko and Jake Davis. I would have liked to have seen Devise make a player that wasn't a goalie to bring more debate into where the talented Alexander Pepper would be selected, but since he has created a goalie that will join the team automatically, it looks like it will be all skaters for the Legion, and they will get two very talented ones in Tzuyu and Dan Wilinsky. Tzuyu is not expected to be one of the highest per-week earners once he joins the VHL, but he's still a very consistent player and is still very much capable of creating a good player. Wilinsky is maybe the surprise pick here given that he's behind Shawinganen in TPE, however while Wilinsky has pretty much been locked in as a max-cap player since joining the VHLM Magazine, Shawinganen hasn't quite kept to that level recently, which works in favour of the former Lynx winger. (Edit: Was written when Toronto still had 4th Overall, given his earning capabilities, there's every chance Wilinsky could go as high as #4, but I think this will likely be Tzuyu) 6 – New York Americans (From Davos) Scott Shawinganen – C 7 – New York Americans (From Quebec City) Jose Gonzalez – LW This was a difficult one for me as, using the same logic as the Toronto picks, New York can really go anywhere outside of goalie as they currently only have one active forward (Roctrion King) and one active defenseman (the just-drafted McWolf). I think that given the current TPE gap over the rest of his competitors, Shawinganen is very likely to be one of the two even though he's had to submit welfare the last couple of weeks. When he's on form, Shawinganen is right up there with the top prospects in this draft, so hopefully once he finds a team and thus new content to potentially write about, Shawinganen will be able to return to that form post-draft. After that, it's a very close run thing between Jose Gonzalez and Sidney Crosby, both of whom are right up there when it comes to earning capped-TPE. I'm going to give the slight edge to Gonzalez, as he's more commonly committed to doing reviewing to make sure he reaches the 12, although both are very good selections here. 8 – Quebec City Meute (From Calgary) Sidney Crosby - D There are positives and negatives for whoever gets drafted to Quebec with this pick. The positive is that they'll immediately jump onto a championship-challenging team, an opportunity that any rookie would love to have, but with that come the negative that through the current strength of the team, the player's initial minutes may be low. Looking at Quebec's current roster, it seems like any player drafted here would be set up to play on the third line of their respective position (unless there was a good tactical reason for the player to move up the lines). I've got Sidney Crosby going here as, not only is he the highest TPE skater currently on the board, he's also at a position where Quebec are perhaps more likely to need help in the future. While Quebec have five forwards on their roster who have at least five VHL seasons remaining till forced retirement, 3/4 of their defensemen are in the latter half of their career. This would be a great story for Crosby, a player who went undrafted in his first VHLM Draft progressing to become a first rounder in the VHL Draft, a story that perhaps would be the first of it's kind. 9 – Seattle Bears (From Helsinki) Jesse Wilson - D At this point, we're dealing with players who would likely be playing another season in the VHLM unless called upon. Seattle are in a position where, while they do have two full lines of forwards (providing Shephard resigns), both Shephard and McAllister will be retiring at the end of the season, which would mean that if Seattle were looking at this selection with future seasons in mind, position may not play that much of a factor. I was considering Odinsson here, but (unless I'm misremembering) I seem to recall there being an incident involving Boom and Seattle not too long ago (something about Boom not wanting to be traded to Seattle but still being traded there rings a bell), and since I'm not sure if that's a resolved issue, I'll go with Jesse Wilson, who will lead the second defensive line for the Bears in the future. Wilson joined very late in the process, but has surged up the rankings into the top 15, which is an impressive feat in itself given that I believe as a result, he missed out on the 10th Anniversary awards. 10 – Helsinki Titans (From New York) Vaydar Odinsson - RW 11 – Helsinki Titans (From Toronto) Alexander Pepper - G Odinsson might fall down the TPE pecking order slightly following this draft due to out-of-league commitments, but he's proven over the course of this season that he is a very talented TPE earner, and once he returns, he will help cement Helsinki's forward line as the one to look out for in the future. I could have had Helsinki pick Pepper a couple of picks later given that Riga (the next team selecting) don't need a goalie, but I think just to play it safe in case Davos were to try to leapfrog ahead of Helsinki to select Pepper, they'll select Pepper here. Like I mentioned in all the previous mock drafts, Pepper is not a player that warrants a second round selection as given different scenarios, he would easily have been a first round selection and, depending on what other trades happen during the draft may very well be the case. 12 - Riga Reign Rylan Peace - RW Heading into the season after this one, the Reign will have five active forwards and four active defensemen, so they go to Peace here to hopefully give themselves two full lines of active forwards. Peace, like Wilson, has been super active since joining the league late on and, based on that, could very well challenge for a higher selection. (At this point in writing, I was alerted that the Draft may be starting an hour earlier than I expected, so apologies for the shorter explanations, just wanted to get it out before the draft) 13 – Helsinki Titans (From Seattle) Mountain Thunderfist - D Thunderfist is a similar case to Oleksiy Revchenko and Karl Von Moltke in last years draft in that while he's not someone challenging the 12 TPE cap, he's very consistent in doing the activities that he does, however he does commit to more activities than those previously mentioned, which makes him a good mid-2nd round selection! 14 – HC Davos Dynamo Cole Mertz – G It's difficult to get a gauge on what exactly the Dynamo plan on doing this season given that they traded McAllister and a lot of their forwards are apparently in Free Agency. Either way, I don't think it's likely they compete past this season even if they do go for it, so they pick Cole Mertz here to be the future replacement for Shawn Brodeur. 15 – Quebec City Meute Jorgon Weyed – RW The Meute would have liked this selection to have been a center given that Sergei Komarov is retiring at the end of this season (and isn't even certain to be on the roster this coming season at the minute), but neither Anthony Dabarno nor Nathan MacKinnon have been on the site this month and Chance Matthews hasn't been earning TPE as effectively as he did at the start of his career. Therefore, Quebec take Weyed. It's tight between him and Kisshan Shan, but I think recently Weyed has shown more earning potential than Shan. 16 – Riga Reign (From Calgary) Anthony Dabarno - C Given that they'll have two full lines of active players, the Reign can afford to take a risk here. While Dabarno hasn't been on the site in a few days, prior to that he was earning at a better rate than the remaining players. Since it's only been a week or so of absence, if he returned, he'd be a solid player for the future. 17 – Helsinki Titans Kisshan Shan - RW Providing Shan makes the VHL, this would give the Titans two full lines of offensive players for Season 64. Shan has proven in the past he can earn near the cap, but hasn't been as much lately. Hopefully joining the early-favourites for the VHLM (The Yukon Rush) will help his activity climb back up to where it was. 18 – Helsinki Titans (From New York) Toby Fitzgerald - D Since they've gotten two lines worth of forwards, they move to address the second line of their defense and draft the best defenseman available in Toby Fitzgerald, a consistent welfare earner who does occassionally submit for press conferences 19 – Toronto Legion Chance Matthews - C Had Matthews claimed for the achievement tracker, he would have been much higher up the draft rankings and, in turn, probably taken earlier in the draft. His mag work gets him a consistent 7 TPE per week, but given we haven't seen a magazine released in a while, this obviously is under the presumption that the mag will still be an outlet for his creative talents. 20 – Riga Reign Randoms - LW Reign could risk it here and go for Nathan MacKinnon (who was at one point a max-cap player who stated a desire to play for the Reign), but they may as well go for Randoms, Hedgehog's other player, since with the pension he earns, he is earning more TPE per week than most of the players left to be taken. 21 – Helsinki Titans (From Seattle) Chace Trepanier - LW At one point a player rivalling Dan Wilinsky in TPE earning, both have gone in opposite directions and Trepanier is now a solid welfare player. 22 – Toronto Legion Rhett Stoffiday - G It's not exactly clear what the Legion plan to do at the goalie position given that they have Carison who they're looking to trade and just created a goalie themselves, but since Devise hasn't been a super-strong TPE earner in a while, maybe he gives Stoffiday a chance to prove he could potentially be a starting goalie and retire his recently created goalie prior to the draft if he winds up proving his activity. 23 – Quebec City Meute Joey Boucher - RW 24 – Quebec City Meute (From Calgary) Wlodzimierz Zajaczkowski – RW Two consistent players here who consistently submit for welfare and practice facility. Boucher submits PTs for special events while Zajaczkowski submits press conferences to boost his TPE. Knowing what the rule was in advance, reading this trade gave me a heart attack, glad it was cleared up though.

@Bushito I think you may have missed off the second page of answers.
