Kazuma Satou, colloquially referred to simply as Kazuma, but also extensively as Kazutrash, Crapuma, Scumzuma, Lowlifezuma, Slimezuma, and even Kazuma-san-who-tried-to-mess-with-Megumin-while-she-was-sleeping (I hope that doesn't count as one word in the word-counter), is a character I have no clue how to properly describe within the realm of hockey. From his life viewpoint, he was a lazy shut-in who was also an avid video game enjoyer. In terms of notable skills, one could fairly notice none. Through some freak accident and the typical tropes of an isekai anime, he managed to get punted into some other universe were he was forced to learn various skills - that in some ways leads him to some mild success in hockey through some alternate route that I can't be assed to connect to the VHL. While I truly hoped that @Bea would create the Useless Goddess herself, it was not to be. But I suppose Kazuma Satou was influenced by this useless wench through her total inability to function without doing something utterly stupid. Kazuma had grown to get used to teammate incompetency, therefore furthering his own abilities and skills due to necessity. After meeting Aqua, he was able to confirm his high tier Luck skill, which I suppose is half the game of hockey after all. If Kazuma can tolerate Aqua, surely he can deal with any other teammate one could possibly have. Megumin's singular skill to make things go BOOM and Kazuma's continued presence to guide her explosive tendencies must have rubbed off. On the ice, Kazuma already has a handful of power play goals, establishing himself as an explosive goal scorer from the blue line. While I don't think Kazuma ever actually uses any explosion magic in the show, his personality at least can certainly also be considered explosive at times. From freaking out at his teammates to bemoaning his existence, there's always a fun personality spark with Kazuma and an imminent internal explosion waiting to happen. Perhaps we'll be cautious with how much Kazuma has learned from Darkness, as a hockey GM would certainly have no interest in a player that can never hit their target - either with their body or with the puck. Fortunately we can say Kazuma's accuracy is perfectly normal! But from Darkness, one who has never been afraid to sacrifice her body in....various ways, Kazuma gets his perfect inspiration as a defenseman. While Kazuma is otherwise fairly cowardly, Darkness has never been afraid to put her life and body on the line to protect her team. Some mild inspiration for Trashuma to be less trash and more of a team player and defensively minded defenseman. Ok I really don't feel like pulling out more characters to give Kazuma experience or a backstory, I think I'm starting to stretch some of those comparisons. One interesting thing to consider are the various skills that Kazuma learned over the course of his explorations and his journey. Intellect - Kazuma has generally developed his intellect skills, and will look to translate his shrewd decision making and strategic thinking skills onto the ice. Defensemen can often help lead an offense on a rush or a breakout and having good intellect to help that process is critical. Thief background - Early on in Kazuma's adventurer life, he was introduced to various thief class skills such as steal, bind and lurk. Stealing of course is nice and important for a defenseman, helping strip the puck from an opponent. Bind is somewhat interesting. While you certainly can't use that skill on the ice and incur a holding penalty, we'll think of it as Kazuma's ability to stick to opponents and prevent chances. Lurk was amusing simply because it reminded me more of a safety in the NFL, you have a defenseman lurking to lay a big check or force a turnover when you least expect it. Archer skills - While I don't recall any of Kazuma's utilization of a bow and arrow, he apparently has some sniping and foresight skills which are relatively obvious for how they translate into the game of hockey. All of these various skills amongst many others have somehow brought Kazuma to the sport of hockey, where he decided that being simply proficient with a one-handed weapon was insufficient, needing to be proficient with the two-handed weapon called a hockey stick. Surely we won't see Kazuma rack up the penalties because of this desire for knowledge, but that remains to be seen. Once again, I have no clue how to seamlessly remove Kazuma from his current world and bring him into our world with the VHL's existence, but maybe we can say that he died embarrassingly again and ended up forced to play hockey for his survival. I'm not creative enough to make that sort of thing work. Anyways, that's Kazuma and his backstory in a nutshell, it's a good show, check it out!

Ah yes sorry, meant in the VHL. Interesting, thanks for the confirmation

I'm so sorry for not asking questions, but I remembered this week! 1. We've started off very hot, 8-0 in the first week but the level of competition has been iffy given a lot of bad teams during that time. Do our wins mean much to you? What are you taking away from these initial games? 2. Despite going through depreciation, Jarmo Ruutu and David Rashford are still over a point per game pace. What do you think they're doing that's giving them continued success? 3. Has any team's start this season surprised you? As in a team is performing better than you expected, or someone worse than expected? 4. Who do you think will be our stiffest competition in the EU this season? Riga is the defending champion, Davos is entering their competitive window, and Malmo has a mix of veterans and fresh blood. Who poses the biggest threat and why? 5. How do you feel about the extreme disparity between contending teams and rebuilding teams? The point differential between the worst wild card team and the next best team in the EU is already pretty substantial. Does it take away from the competitive integrity of the league for the playoff teams in a conference to be known before the season even starts? 6. Why do you like playing for Moscow? Give me some testimonials to use on recruiting people or interviewing draft prospects in the future .

@Victor has there ever been a GM who has changed teams in consecutive seasons but not to a freshly created expansion team? Aka the GM finishes a season GM'ing one team, then switches to GM another team for the next season?
-
Yeah they gave Josh and Acyd mandatory GM rolese to claim experience!
-
Can Olober Syko challenge the all-time save % record?

I think the 1st gen part is always emphasized, everyone knows that keeping new blood around is critical. We of course don't want recreates to be burning out or feeling neglected either since not everyone is a self-motivated max earner. But for your second point, we're not gonna name and shame people, but we have had to remove people or have conversations about a GM's future when we notice a lack of activity. I would say GMs have generally been self-aware in these regards so fortunately we haven't had to remove anyone in recent memory.

There's no bonuses in place to specifically address this, because it's still their role to be involved in their team and meet the standards that have been set of a VHLM GM. We haven't been shy about removing people from the role if they're not adequately meeting the responsibilities of the job. We bumped pay from 2 to 4 knowing that the expectations are high and there is a significant time commitment. 36 TPE a season to check in with players who choose your team (portal waivers) and try to engage them somewhat frequently doesn't merit bonuses or additional TPE/rewards in my opinion.

@leandrofg donezo, lmk if I need to fix the spacing but last I recall this helps more with sheet input unless you've tweaked it!

Obuz on Moscow is also over 1K TPE, as is David Rashford. Unless you meant TPA, then it's just Obuz

1. I don't even play here and 2. konosuba is a great show, I will hear no slander

Ngl I feel like I've forgotten to do this for a few seasons now, but I have a new player and have to try to earn properly again. So I announce captains properly instead of just setting them in the sim and forgetting to announce it! On we go. Second Alternate - Jarmo Ruutu - @jRuutu It's pretty clear to everyone around the league that Ruutu is always pumping out some content weekly that never fails to make you think, while also giving you a great laugh as well. He's fantastic for this team and his meticulous efforts were rewarded with a career season in S95 and the Beketov in a campaign where he elevated the play of everyone around him. We're looking forward to him continuing his dominant style of play in S96 despite facing some depreciation. As one of the veteran members of the team, his leadership will be crucial to Moscow's continued success. First Alternate - Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage - @Grape OSCB keeps his A, I wonder if he's the longest tenured A in Moscow history at this point. Feel like he's had it almost his entire career so far, and unfortunately for him there's just someone more senior to him on the team. He finally had the breakout season he'd been looking forward to, winning MIP, Top Offensive Dman and Top Dman to prove that he's not just the best defenseman in Moscow, but in the league. While depreciation has taken its inevitable toll here as well, he's well prepared to maintain his strong play on both ends of the ice and will be another critical piece for the team in S96. Maybe if he quit being a weeb he'd finally get the C. Captain - David Rashford - @Knight The most veteran member of the team, and one who I still can't believe has had a career the way its played out to this point, David Rashford will be our captain for yet another season! His dedication to the team truly paid off, winning a plethora of awards (4) in S95 alongside our aforementioned alternates. His dedication to grinding his way into a roster spot season after season and constantly raising the bar is exactly what I hope every player who follows him into Moscow can replicate. I'm truly in awe of his dedication and efforts and captaincy was simply never a question with him. Congrats to all named to the leadership team! MOSCOW MOSCOW MOSCOW

Neat podcast, but you should try to boost your audio before uploading bc it's super quiet even if I max my PC volume, unless I blast my speakers up a lot as well.

me with a rum and coke when we get midway through the VHL Draft's 2nd round every season, relatable

The only time I left a team myself was when the GM was too IA to re-sign me before FA. Projection?

I think you'll be fine with LA, they're a loyal group and I don't think they'll have the kind of cap issues Moscow is always dealing with. Some tough retirements out there
