1. I'd make it cheaper for players to boost their faceoffs and fighting ability.
2. I'd go meta and do a theme week retrospective, asking people to talk about their favorite past weeks theme.

5. I've had the pleasure of attending a few. My first ever was when I was a kid. I saw Jaromir Jagr's career best game, 3G 4A against the Islanders. I didn't even know what a hat trick was.
6. Not bad. We added some forward and G depth, which was crucial. Still need to do something about Jeff Carter.
8. I'd like to say I'm excited for Baldur's Gate III, but frankly I don't know when I'd even play it.

I'm going to take this as an unlimited power sort of scenario.
Contrary to the usual approach, let's start with some things I want to emphasize that I'm keeping the same:
-The North America: Europe conference split. These two continents represent the vast majority of interest in hockey and I think it would be misguided to take the VHL outside of them.
-The weekly TPE cap: This structure is essential to both allow max earners to earn, but also allow casuals to create players that can contribute.
-Stick with Simon T Hockey Simulator: No matter how much it sucks, it still sucks less than the alternatives.
Now, on to my sweeping changes to the league:
-A bounty of unlimited Free Weeks for life to the user or users who are able to bring Simon T alive to my secret volcano lair. Enough is enough; he must pay for what he has done to us all. A tank of sharks with lasers attached to their heads awaits him.
-The VHLE must go: I expect many commissioners for a day will be doing the same. The experiment has gone on for long enough. Now that we've forced the lifers out, who is the E for? It is a speed bump, a purgatory that we burn a season in, toiling towards nothing. It cannot continue the charm of a new player’s creation that we experience in the M. It lacks the prestige of the VHL proper. It chews through promising new GM prospects. Let it die, before it drives another user to be inactive. Instead, we will expand the VHLM and VHL by four teams each, providing good homes for the forlorn players of the VHLE.
-Rebalance TPE costs: There are a few attributes that are naught but a tax that players in certain roles must pay. The center must spend his hard- earned TPE to be competent at faceoffs, leaving him with no chance to ever equal his winger cousins. The enforcer must invest her precious TPE in fighting, depriving herself for the privilege of being sent off the ice for five minutes. The grinder spends their TPE on checking, knowing it will send them to the box more often. Never again! Now, centers will receive an automatic 10 point boost to their STHS faceoffs attribute, plus an additional three after each season. Checking and fighting will no longer be attributes that are purchased. Rather, they will be set between 40-99 at the user's discretion at player creation and may be modified at each offseason.
-More hybrid attributes to contribute to the STHS Penalty Shot attribute: The status quo implies that the only way to score on a penalty shot is with a well-placed wrist shot. Where is the spinorama? Where is the dirty dangle, the between the legs? Where is the fake shot and then to the backhand? Skating and puck handling will now also contribute to Penalty Shot.
-A slush fund to send 10% of all income to the Cayman Islands.
There you have it. Embrace the Mongoose of change and you will find that the league will flourish, great and cobra-free.

1. I always expect everything to be a trap, that's why I'm still alive.
2. Man, sometimes I wonder that myself. I've taken a few welfare weeks lately. Sometimes you just need a break. Lucky I qualify for 5 TPE.
3. I'll do super coach. I don't pay close enough attention to the forums to keep up with a draft.
4. If you ever travel back in time, don't step on anything. Because even the tiniest change can alter the future in ways you can't imagine.
6. I went to Cordoba on my honeymoon. The mosque there is beautiful and they had this little Sephardic restaurant that was the best we had all trip.
8. I have a 3 year old and a 14 month old, so I don't really go out late much. Last concert was Bruce Springsteen on his The River tour. Not the one in the 70s, though.

1. I have two kids under 4, I don't need to do anything to keep myself busy.
2. I wasn't shooting as much as I'd like, and therefore wasn't scoring as much as I'd like.
4. I've never been that big on PTs, in general. I understand why they exist, and I know it can be challenging to drive engagement without them. I just find they're largely time sinks. What percentage of users even read other people's media?
6. Vegas. I have a soft spot for people that overcame spinal injuries.
7. Atticus Finch. He is a great example of a positive male role model who eschews aggressive behavior.
8. Chocolate chip cookie dough. Love those little chunks.

2. My username is a reference to the time Dale Gribble released a mongoose into Megalo Mart to track down the snake he had released.
3. Paprika, preferably smoked. I have never regretted adding more paprika to a recipe.

1. I think we play them well if we meet in the playoffs, but there's not enough time to make up the gap between us.
2. Okay. I thought getting to rejig my build through depreciation would net me more shots and therefore more goals. I saved a lot of TPE to make that happen.
4. No, not really. I have some old friends and acquaintances it's kinda nice to beat, though.
5. My old league that I was heavily involved in was about to be laid to rest, and I needed somewhere to go for sim hockey. I didn't care for the SHL, and my goalie said he was migrating here, so I followed him.
7. When I was in high school, I went on a trip to London, Paris and Barcelona. It was March, so London and Paris were miserable, but, despite my complete exhaustion, Barcelona was amazing. I'd love to go back for more than just the three days we had.
8. If one were to drill directly from one side of a board to another side, it would be described as a "hole" drilled through the board. I see no reason why changing the shape of the material, but not the nature of the hole would change the number of holes.

2. I would either reduce the cost of faceoffs or give centers a higher starting value in that attribute. Right, now it's just a tax to be center.
3. I'm not really a big fan of rebranding. Once you've established the identity of a team, rebranding can really muddy that.
4. Standard-issue Starfleet field rations, and a little sip of Romulan ale, neat.
5. Call me a stick in the mud, but I've never been a fan of alt jerseys. Just do your main jerseys well and wear them well.

1. I'm doing Supercoach. I like this style of fantasy, works better with my busy schedule. I made a spreadsheet.

5. I'm considering S David Crosby or Brent Byrnes. Very memeable.
7. I did five years of French immersion, so some might say I speak French.

1. I don't remember anyone actually reaching out to me. TBH, I find all the surveys very annoying. I'd rather go to a team that didn't message me than one that sent me a form.
