This also means that anyone wishing to re-create for the S98 draft (hey that’s me!) can do so starting at midnight that same day. --- We can be done right? You don’t actually want a theme week… Fine. The theme for S95 is: What the hell does that mean? Well as we approach S100 there’s been a lot of league history and lore to explore, weird trends, curses, Anderson alts, you name it. If you can justify it we’ll count it so let’s get that VHL Lore going! To earn your Theme Week TPE, write an article, create a graphic, or record a podcast with some connection to “VHL Lore”. --- In order to claim the theme week bonus of 6 Uncapped TPE, simply submit your Themed PT (Graphic, Media Spot, or 6-TPE Podcast), and claim it as normal. After claiming the PT portion, you can use the same link, and claim the uncapped portion as follows: Claim Uncapped > Other > Doubles Week. (Note: you do not need to post your link in this thread to claim either portion of TPE). If you have already submitted a Point Task for this week, or are in the midst of claiming a multi-week Media Spot/Podcast, you may still submit a Theme Week PT this week, and claim the capped portion on the next available week, following your multi-week claim. Also, if you have a single job that pays 6+, you may claim the theme week bonus as long as you complete your duties for the week. If you are in the SBA and have completed their most recent Media Week, you may use that to claim the Uncapped theme week bonus, but a PT must be completed this week in order to claim the Capped portion, whether that is completed here or through Affiliate Welfare. Based off my quick search it appears S73 was the first. I think we might have had it before and then removed it and brought it back mind you; I feel like I remember wildcard games back in the 50’s or 60’s.

It would be interesting to compare this to pre-wildcard days. We have morale turned way down but anecdotally it feels like wildcard teams knock out the victory cup winning team far more often than bottom seeds were doing it before and I’ve long wondered if it’s because the extra 3-5 games of morale make a difference.

In theory sure but in practice it’s about the league standard to have 1/4 of the league in a rebuild so it’s not really that unusual. It’s just made more apparent here because they are basically all in one conference. It’s basically an impossibility to remove the concept of rebuilding teams.

FWIW we could keep the character of the conferences and still have playoff crossover, we’ve had it before and that’s how the M works. It’s a bit more work but nothing too insane.

I mean that would make 20 games so 4 over or under I guess. Personally I probably would have just gone over but that’s just me; maybe he went over yesterday and I just didn’t count.

You were certainly better than most. Didn't mean I agreed with the opinion but you at least had some options and evidence aside from "trust me bro, just expand everything." I do think if it had com from even you though it still wouldn't have gotten much traction. Really what you did gained the ground that it did because it wasn't formulated as "the E needs to die"; that was kinda just a natural progression of the discussion.

Not that I want @Gaikoku-hito to get any shot at passing me sooner (lord knows I’m bound to drop anyway) but why is Calaway for him showing as 0?

Not to give myself credit I don’t deserve but I feel like that’s what helped the discussion. People who actively hated it, like yourself let’s be honest, kinda just turned to white noise eventually so it would just be “oh look another E hater coming to hate on it.”

Is it that surprising? I held the opinion from the start that it was necessary but when it wasn’t I would be open to changing things. Up until that point I didn’t see it as a necessary discussion. I still think the concept is cool; just wound up that reality did not mesh with how I viewed things. If those tests had shown that 400 TPE players crushed everyone else into the sand though I’d still be fighting for it.
