  1. 1. "Never tell me the odds." 2. Plus/Minus sitting at 0 two games in? I ain't gonna complain. 4. *Whistles Innocently with 42 TPE* 6. Love the logo - the name makes me want to say the Halifax 21st's though and I hate that. 7. Taylor 8. Depends. For the most part I pronounce it cara-mel, unless it's a Caramel brand chocolate bar, in which case it defaults to a car-mel bar.
  2. Heinz Gunnarsson (not Ketchman) is proud to sign with his hometown team, the Halifax 21st!

  5. 1. Being a new signing from Free Agency I hope to make a difference down the road. 2. I honestly have no idea what shape the team was in, but even if it was going south it's always a tough call to put something out of it's misery. 3. Philadelphia, because I am a huge fan of Blue Oyster Cult. Don't fear the reaper, baby. 4. I really think it is a super fascinating concept - and something I wish I would have jumped onto sooner. So much history and inside jokes and memories to catch up on. 5. Currently awaiting his spot on the roster! 6. Jesper Norberg, hands down. Hoping him and I can help give this team the push it needs to end the season respectably. 7. Canada, the Great White North. No contest. 8. Meh-sure.
  6. The standings speak for themselves ladies and gentleman and for any of you die-hard Halifax 21st fans out there, you are more than likely not a fan of what you are seeing - especially as of late. The Halifax team sits in the lower half of the standings and the gap between them and the next closest team continues to grow larger and larger as the 21st enters the largest losing streak in the VHLM currently - losing five consecutive games which is even one more than the current Houston Bulls who sit dead last. With their hopes of returning to the forefront of the league growing dimmer, their latest signing is perhaps an attempt to mix things up on the team, or a shear move of desperation. Regardless, Halifax native Kayle Gunnarsson remains optimistic that while the team's situation is "...certainly not ideal...", he eagerly awaits his opportunity to lace up the skates and try to move past the first half of the Season with his newfound teammates. The question we are all asking however, is will he even be able to make a difference - and if so, will it have been too late? This has been VHLM Watch Dogs bringing you the latest report. "Keep it clean, keep it classy."
  7. Here at VHLM Watch Dogs, we've been eyeing the development of prospect Heinz Gunnarsson for some time now - knowing fully well it was only a matter of time before teams throughout the League reached out to the up-and-comer in search of a worthwhile signing to their clubs. We managed to catch up the Haligonian fresh out of his public announcement where he spoke up about the offers on the table and ultimately the reasoning behind his decision. "It was a pretty easy decision on my end," he told our reporter-on-scene Butch Cromwell. "Halifax and it's people have already provided me with so much opportunity in my life - I think it's only fair I do as much as I can to return the favour and make it worthwhile for everyone." Discussions slowly drifted towards what other offers there might have been on the table and while hesitant to relay all the details that were hashed out on the negotiating table, the Free Agent did share with us what he could. "There were some good offers, I won't lie," Gunnarsson admitted with a modest shrug. "Ice time is always something you look forward to, and when it is offered it is really hard to say no. You want to get out there on the ice and make a difference for your team and your fans. One thing I knew going into these negotiations was that I wanted to be someone out there making that difference - whether it was the first pairing or the second. I figured it might as well be for my hometown crowd." Although Gunnarsson made no comment on the teams which sought him out, VHLM Insiders went on to report that the offers which reached him included the likes of the obvious Halifax 21st, the Yukon Rush and the newest expansion team, the Miami Marauders. All of these teams have been struggling in the VHLM Standings in Season 72, with total points sitting at 33, 33 and 32 respectively. Without a doubt these teams were looking to mix things up on their defense and tighten up the scoring opportunities in their end - and in signing Gunnarsson the Halifax 21st are hoping to have done just that along with reinvigorate their lackluster offense this year in the process. As for the Haligonian himself, it was evident that no matter where he signed it would be an uphill battle - something that he appeared confident in handling. "Anybody out there skating will tell you it's all for the love of the game Butch. Are we as a team going to have to put the work in? Of course, and I am looking forward to doing that with my new teammates - guys like Brendan Rose and Hex Valentine - putting in 100% every night they go out there. Can't wait to go all out tooth and nail with guys like those breaking their backs." Inevitably our time with Heinz Gunnarsson came to an end, and we were left watching the young man get picked up by his mother in her Prius as he left our downtown location. From us here at VHLM Watch Dogs, we'll be keeping a close eye out on this prospect's progress. "Keep it clean, keep it classy."
