How long have you been GM? “It’s been about 2 months since I took the job as GM of the Mexico City Kings.” Coming in as the new GM what were your first thoughts of the team? “Coming in, I already knew the makeup of the team and what kind of situation they were in because I had played here for two seasons prior. I was really good friends with past GM @motzaburger as well, and he made sure to set this team up for future success.” What is your vision for this team in the future? “I want this team to be one of the premier destinations for 1st Generation Players in the VHL. We’ve had some pretty good success with that recently and I would like to keep that tradition going.” What made you want to be a GM? “Well I love hockey for one, but I also like to help new members on the site and get them up to speed with how things work. Becoming a GM in the minors has allowed me to build relationships with these new players and I’m proud to say that I think we have a solid group of young talent here.” What are your current expectations for the team this season and next season? “Admittedly expectations were low heading into this season, but the team has smashed all of those and we are now comfortably in a playoff race which is just phenomenal. With our plethora of picks coming up next season, it’s an exciting time to be a King here in Mexico City!”

@Jtv123 Apparently I messed up somewhere and put an F instead of a D for Roque Davis Could you move him to my Defense spot in place of Edwin and put Andrew Su in that empty Forward spot

JR Review Markus wasn’t ever really interested in hockey at a young age. St. Louis is better known as a baseball town. Being exposed to baseball at a young age and almost everyone in town being big supporters it was only natural for him to pick it up. He began playing baseball at a young age and played until he was 12. For a few months, he didn't really know what he wanted to do until he saw the VHL finals on T.V.. He began watching and grew an interest in the sport and asked his parents if he could try skating sometime. Eventually they took him and he was horrible at skating. Even after quite some time he still wasn't very quick and struggled to keep up. Determined to give hockey a shot he decided being a regular skater would not be the best fit for him and became a goalie. His baseball skills really helped him in the net since he already had very good hand eye coordination and was used to catching flying objects. The net seemed like a perfect fit so he continued to play until highschool. His Highschool had a relatively new and I might add bad hockey team. It wasn't very hard for him to join and with him being the brick wall he was in net the team found relatively great success. Not enough to win anything but enough to be noticed and respected. Now that Markus was 18 and graduated highschool he didn't have many options for hockey other than college. He wasn't good enough to be entered straight into any pro draft so pretty much any university that would take him would be enough. He landed in a decent hockey program but he was somewhat disappointed in his freshman year when he was riding the bench behind the senior goalie. His sophomore year would be the turning point in his life because he was granted the starting position for his college and had one of the greatest season anyone had ever had at that school or even their conference. This success caught the attention of some scouts and especially the scouts for the VHLM team The San Diego Marlins. Markus had two years left in school but with all the talk surrounding him, he had to make a decision to leave school early and take a chance in the VHLM or to continue college and hope he does well enough to get drafted. After a lot of thinking the moment to decide his fate approached when San Diego offered him a spot on the team. At 20 years old he dropped out of college and began his career as a pro goalie in the VHLM. 455 Words

Markus Emerson Jr. - G - #22 VHL Drafted: 57th Overall (S74) | VHLM Drafted: 73rd Overall (S73) Age: 20 Height: 5' 10" Weight: 152 lb. Born: St. Louis, Missouri Introduction I first entered the VHLM scene near the end of season 72. I was signed to San Diego on a quick deal for a few games then once the season ended I was released. Going into season 73 I was placed into the VHLM entry draft and selected 73rd overall by Las Vegas who almost instantly traded me to Mexico City. In Mexico City, I was a bench player for my first full season but once season 74 came around I became the starter. In this time I was also drafted by Vancouver into the VHL as the 57th overall pick. I was surprised I was drafted at all but I’m happy I did. Getting drafted to the VHL really kick started my career and I started putting as much time as I could into becoming the greatest player on the planet. Pros Prior to the VHL draft I was a below average player. But since that day I was drafted I have exploded with potential. I’ve really worked hard in ensuring I'm as quick and controlled as I possibly can be while in net. And on top of that I’ve learned how to keep the puck from bounding off of my into venerable situations. Cons I’ve struggled with penalty shots for as long as I can remember. To this day its one of my greatest weaknesses. My ability to rally the team and mount a comeback is about as effective as using pillow in a gun fight. These are things I plan to work on but it will be a struggle. Stats As my new role as starter for Mexico City I have surprised myself with my performance. Last season as back up I only played a handful of games. My save percentage was .894% and goals against average was 4.47. As I’ve said this current season I have performed significantly better than my last cashing in a .917 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average. Although we’ve only played eight total game so far this is a great sign for things to come and I expect to have my number look even better by the end of the season. Future Plans I plan on working as hard as I can in order to become the greatest player the VHL and VHLM have ever seen! Each week will be a grind to become the best. I can not afford to take any breaks. My agility and speed will be greatly improved from where it is now by the end of this VHLM season as well as some one on one practice with the team to improve my penalty shot. 471 Words

Excellent job taking the time out to research all these players and their stats. I'm sure this too an insane amount of time. Including the team logo that the player was on was a nice touch. Also the information was easy to follow it was short and sweet and told you what you needed to know and didn't ramble on. The only thing that bothered me is at the top of the article 1. and 2. appear to be a ligher black than the remaining parts. That could be my eyes trying to trick me though. 10/10 Do goalies next

Unexpected Hope Coming into this season with Mexico City there wasn’t any expectation of doing well. It seemed like we could possibly miss the playoffs. We only have a handful of players especially compared to the top teams who are filled out. We all know next season would be great because we have so many drafts picks but the few players we have on the roster now are actually doing better than expected. It seems most players or outperforming their stats including myself. After 8 games we have 7 points and are 8th overall in the VHLM. If we could stop losing in shoot outs we would be ranked 4th or 5th right now which would be amazing. With how we’re playing I don’t see us falling below 8th and could see us take 7th or 6th before the season is over. I don’t expect this team to make a cup run but this certainly makes next season that much more exciting and I think everyone on the team can agree with that. Here’s to hoping that well take it all next season and beyond.

First games as a starter Last season was my first full season. I was drafted by Las Vegas as the 57th overall pick. I was then promptly traded to Mexico City. In Mexico City, I rode the bench as a backup which is no big deal. I have to let some of those guys get some ice time before I become the greatest starting goalie the VHLM has ever seen. Las Vegas for sure made the biggest mistake of their lives trading me away because once I lift up that cup I’ll be sure to tweet them to let them know I am the best goalie to ever set foot on the ice. With me starting this season for Mexico City Vegas will look back at that trade with regret The day before my first game as a starter all anyone would ask is “Are you nervous?” “You think you’re ready to be a starter?” “The Kings aren’t expected to finish well in the standings does that bother you?”. Ok look I’m the best goalie in the VHLM and in a few seasons, I’ll be the greatest of all time when I’m up there in the VHL. Why would I be nervous when I can lift my finger and stop any puck from these minor leaguers. No one can outmatch me. Any puck that goes past me is pure luck. If luck didn’t exist they would be handing me the cup already. Now that the air has been cleared on those ridiculous questions please stop asking and let’s get into the first two games. The first game was against the Saskatoon Wild. It was a good game for me despite the score which was 5-1 Saskatoon. I faced 49 shots which is way too many. My defense in front of me was a bit shaky but I’ll give them a pass since its the first game and I’m sure they’re all nervous but I will expect more from them the rest of the season. The offense, on the other hand, was incredible and by incredible I mean horrible. The only puck that went into the back of the net was shot by a defenseman. On top of all of that we had 15 shots...yes 15 shots in the entire game, not one period the WHOLE GAME! How can we let that happen? I knew coming in our team would struggle in some games but this is unacceptable! I expect more from each offensive player for the rest of the season. Now on to game two. This was a solid game for everyone (Except the offense again…) despite the 3-2 SO loss. The defense really improved only allowing 32 shots which is a massive improvement from game 1. The key to this team’s success is ME and the defense. The offense... Our forwards need to step it up if we’re going to win some games. Once again all our goals were scored by defensemen. Yes, the forwards are getting assist but that’s not the point. While the defense improved the offense only had 2 more shots than the last game. We must get some new guys in this lineup because what we’re putting out there isn’t working. Hell, we put a hotdog vendor on defense and he managed to get a goal that game. Our third game will be better. We’re playing Houston and we all know Houston teams need a trashcan to win. We will not lose that game. I expect the finals score to be 6-0 Mexico City and if we lose they clearly cheated. 597 words, using for pt week ending 9/27

ESPN.mx VHLM Draft Day Interview with Kamenov - P1
Xflexz replied to BigTittySmitty's topic in Archived Media Spots
Great job with the article. The fact you had a translator is very creative. The only problem I really have is that it's a bit overwhelming and feels semi cluttered. With that it gets a 9/10. -
Vegas prepares for new season after post-draft scrimmages
Xflexz replied to diacope's topic in Archived Media Spots
The amount of detail and effort put into this was incredible. We should clone you and put one of you on each team to do these. Jokes aside you should definitely keep doing these with regular season updates maybe every 2 weeks on how the team is performing. Also the playoffs lol. As far as changes others have basically mentioned the small things already. This is definitely a 10/10 looking forward to more from you! -

Mexico City Concept Logo This logo is a concept of the Mexico City Kings. I didn’t feel this was good enough to just post on its own so I decided to make a media spot talking about the logo and what each piece is meant to represent. I should also state that I have zero previous experience in graphic design so that will also explain why it has no color. Although it doesn’t have the color I will still explain how it could be colored increase someone wants to turn it into a real logo. The logo consists of three main elements the eagle, crown, and sign. I’ll start with the sign since its the most basic element. The sign doesn’t have much representation with anything in the real world and I need a place to put the team name so having the eagle carry it was the best option since I didn’t want to cram everything onto the crown. The sign itself would be made of dark wood that could be splintered or seem like it’s been thrown around. The letters would alternate between red and green or some other version of it including white. I haven’t experimented with it so I don’t know what looks the best as of now. Next is the crown. The crown represents the ‘Kings’ pretty obvious but it also represents the capital city of Mexico. On most maps, the capital of a country is labeled with a star of some kind so this all tied in pretty well. The colors would consist of a gold or a tint of yellow with the round tips being black, grey, or the colors for the Mexican flag. The wording would be similar to the theme of the words on the sign saying ‘Kings’. It would all depend on what style is used. Lastly, we move to the eagle. This would be the most detailed part of the whole logo. The eagle comes from the Mexican flag. The actual eagle on the flag itself is a gold color. This would likely be changed to a more typical eagle color like a brown but a gold one could also look good but the crown color would need to change so they don’t blend together. This logo would not be surrounded by anything else like a circular background. It would be the pure outline of what is shown in the picture. The font of the letters would be similar to Arial but there’s always room for new ideas. The overall color scheme will depend heavily on what color is chosen for the eagle so there’s lots of room for interpretation. I do also plan on doing one for each VHLM team. This will take a while since I’m new at this and have little experience. I also plan to create alternates/concepts for the VHL as well once I finish the VHLM. All designs I post are free to use and if someone wishes to change it or make it into a real logo you have full permission. I hope to have another out within a few weeks! 519 words, using for pt week ending 9/20. Using for First Gen Doubles

One of the more enjoyable things in VHL and VHLM is trivia. The trivia gets people to learn more about the league and it’s players as well as give you them juicy tpe points if you have a big brain. So why is it that trivia is stopped during the off season? Off-season trivia would be an amazing addition to the VHL and VHLM. The off season stuff could focus on the beginning history of the VHL. The very very beginning too not just back to season sixty. Having the off season trivia would also obviously fill in the time between the season and give something to do for most people who aren’t necessarily involved in the draft for both levels. And who doesn’t love those few extra points they can add before the next season! With all of this being said having no off season trivia won’t kill the vibe for the off season so it’s not very high on the priority list and isnt an absolute must. I also need to mention I’m a big noob still to all this so I could be stating something completely wrong at any point so there’s the warning for that.

I’m pretty new to VHL. With that being said I’ve had lots of time to look at the teams in the VHLM and VHL as well as their logos. There are a few teams that have logos that don’t make sense as far as the team name especially for someone like me who doesn’t know the backstory. The team that sticks out the most to me as a newcomer is the Minnesota Storm. I have been told by a few people that they moved from a previous location which is why their logo is like that. I think the team should’ve rebranded or changed the logo of some kind when they moved which is why I’ve already thought of new team names for them such as ‘Timber’. Also, just to put it out there ‘Storm’ doesn’t seem to fit Minnesota in my opinion. When I think of Minnesota I think of a flat forest with snow. With all that being said I know rebranding isn’t very easy. Relocating is a whole mess in itself so expecting the team to be completely rebuilt from the ground up is a lot to ask. Still... change something…please

1) Miami was screwed Minnesota definitely payed the refs. 2) VHL doesn't matter till i'm up there winning the cup every season 3) It would be a mistake if i'm not in the First round. 4) Having some teammates go to the rink with me and have some shootout competitions. (I win every time btw) 5) I don't have weaknesses. 6) I would like a western team to win it so i'll have to go with the Stars.
